Introduction

Hello dear readers! It is pleasant to realize that my meetings with you on the pages of the books of the I Attract Health series have become a good tradition. Traditional medicine is not only collections of recipes and useful tips, this is the age-old wisdom of the people, or, one might even say, of the peoples, collected bit by bit. Preserved by many generations, repeatedly subjected to persecution, it has nevertheless come down to us in its almost original form, in order to come to our aid in difficult times.

Our distant ancestors had no one to ask for advice, on your own they had to comprehend this world, fraught with many surprises. Using observation as one of the methods of cognition environment, people made many important discoveries for themselves. So, observing animals, a person learned to identify medicinal plants. It is now known to everyone that a sick animal is looking for a healing plant, guided by the instinct of self-preservation. In those distant times, the fundamental principles of medicine were laid. It was then that most of the medicinal plants were discovered, which are successfully used to this day.

In this book, I want to tell you about one of these plants - knotweed, or knotweed. In the people it is also called goose grass, goose grass, grass-ant.

The medicinal properties of knotweed are very diverse. It is used as a hemostatic, as an anti-inflammatory, as an appetite enhancer, as a wound healing and as an anti-tuberculosis agent. For many animals and birds, both wild and domestic, knotweed is nutritious food. Its first stems can be used as greens in the preparation of various dishes.

Knotweed can be used alone or mixed with other medicinal herbs for external and internal use. Prepare healing remedy from knotweed, depending on the purpose: in the form of a decoction, infusion or liquid extract. Now it has become very popular to remember forgotten properties herbs and flowers, knotweed did not stand aside. Get to know him better, maybe he will be able to help you too.

Chapter 1

grass-ant

This grass from the very beginning of spring until late autumn grows on the streets of cities and villages, in forest glades, on the banks of small and large rivers. With the same success, it grows along roads, both carriageways and country roads. The plant is very unpretentious, and its habitat is unlimited. With all the outward tenderness and fragility, the adaptability of the familiar ant is simply unique. It survives in almost any land. On poor clay soils, it becomes almost leafless, like a tangled coil of wire, but does not die. If she got soft wet soil, then here it spreads a lush green carpet. The bushes of this grass grow especially strongly along the edges of abandoned fields, here one plant can spread over several square meters. All this happens thanks to a powerful root system, which helps the mountaineer to adapt to any soil.

Plants related to knotweed are widely distributed throughout the world and are very tenacious.

In Russia, the mountaineer is widespread everywhere. You can meet him in Siberia and the Urals, in the middle lane and in the subtropics. It grows equally in both dry and humid climate. It can equally absorb nutrients from the soil surface and from its depth. It can be described in two words: very resilient.

One old legend tells how knotweed one day was going to go to the mountains - to become a hermit, tired of everyone trampling on him. He slowly began to crawl towards the mountain river, but a wise old sorceress came across to him with bunches of magical herbs and roots. She listened to him and said: “In vain, knotweed, you climb here. In the mountains there are only rocks, but winds and frosts - you will completely disappear there. Better go to the people, to the valleys, and there you will avenge yourself. You will interfere with people, germinate everywhere. Knotweed obeyed the witch and returned to the people. But here's the bad luck, in no way can it interfere with people, no matter how much it grows everywhere. Herds graze on knotweed thickets, diseases are expelled by its grass, and blue paint (the same as indigo) can be made from its roots. So he got used to slowly knotweed living with people.

Knotweed (Poeygonum aviculare), or knotweed, is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the buckwheat family, with thin, creeping or ascending stems reaching a length of 30 cm. The root of the plant is noticeably thicker than the branches themselves, it is taproot, almost without lateral processes. Knotweed leaves are small, oblong-lanceolate, 1.5–2 cm long and 0.4 cm wide; they are attached to the stem with short petioles. In the nodes and axils of the leaves, you can see small membranous formations that look like white bells. Knotweed flowers are inconspicuous and very small, they are green-white in color, collected 1-5 in the axils of the leaves. Perianth simple, five-membered, about half incised, cracking at fruits. There are 8 stamens in a flower. The ripened fruit looks like a ribbed black trihedron.

Knotweed begins to bloom in early June and blooms throughout the summer. The fruits finally ripen in August-September.

The chemical composition of the mountaineer is rich and varied. It is considered a natural pantry of vegetable protein (17%), biologically active substances (44 %), vegetable fiber(27%), ash compounds (8.9%), simple and complex sugars (2.5%), resins, wax, tannins.

In addition, it also found useful trace elements like calcium, phosphorus, zinc, silicon. The highlander is rich in vitamins. For example, ascorbic acid, i.e. vitamin C, is present in knotweed 3 times more than in lemons, its content reaches 400 mg%, and carotene (provitamin A) - up to 118 mg%. The juice of the plant contains resins and tannins. In addition, naphthoquinone, tocopherol, bioflavonoids, and organic acids were found in all parts of knotweed. For this reason, knotweed enjoys the well-deserved respect of many doctors and nutritionists as medicinal plant wide spectrum of action.

But this useful qualities are not limited. Due to the large number of different chemical compounds contained in it, knotweed is no less popular with veterinarians as a fodder and medicinal plant. Hay made from pure knotweed is not inferior in its qualities to legumes - alfalfa, clover, rank. But, as a rule, the grass of the highlander bird is not subject to mass harvesting, but is used in the form of feed additives.

Properties

In many countries of the world, the useful properties of the highlander have been found wide application in pharmacology. Dried grass, along with flowers, is often used to treat many diseases: in Algeria - fever, in Austria - nervous exhaustion and general loss of strength. In the countries of Europe and America, according to the traditions of traditional medicine, with the help of water infusions of the bird mountaineer, they treat high blood pressure, tuberculosis, and stop bleeding. In Chinese medicine, highlander is most often used as an antipyretic. The old Russian "Zelniki" prescribed highlander bird from consumption and bruises. The healers ordered "to soar their feet from the tumor when they trample", hence another name for the herb - trample. And if you think about it and read old books, it turns out that the modest weed has many names, almost every province has its own name. The Penza peasants called it jackdaw buckwheat, because it is close relatives with buckwheat. In Voronezh, the knotweed was called the goose, the chariot is called in the Arkhangelsk places, the chicken-eater is called in Nizhny Novgorod. Among the Stavropol people, it became a developing grass and a pig burkun. In the Tambov region, this herb is known as murukh or samurushka. But still, most often we call the highlander bird knotweed. As you can see, this name comes from the verb “to argue”, very quickly - quickly - in the spring it begins to grow, and it also multiplies quickly - each modest bush produces up to 200 seeds per year.

The list of all the medicinal properties of this well-known herb is quite large. Medicines prepared on the basis of the mountaineer have astringent properties, cause contraction of the uterine muscles, increase the rate of blood clotting, have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic and diuretic properties, reduce bleeding of mucous membranes, moderately lower blood pressure, accelerate wound healing, increase immunity, increase the excretion of sodium and chlorine from the body, reduce the precipitation and formation of stones from mineral salts in the urinary tract. Crushed fresh grass can be applied to wounds and ulcers, as knotweed has a hemostatic and wound healing effect. Knotweed is one of the medicinal plants of the international market. Researchers believe that its main healing properties are due to the presence of flavonoids and tannins.

It is customary to prescribe a preparation from knotweed for herbal medicine in chronic diseases of the urinary tract, especially if they are accompanied by a violation of mineral metabolism in the initial period of urolithiasis and the period after the removal of stones. Indications for the use of knotweed are also inflammation of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, liver disease, malaria, uterine and hemorrhoidal bleeding. It is used externally for various skin diseases, and, moreover, for the treatment of wounds, ulcers and bruises. Knotweed has been tested and studied by our scientists many years ago as one of the remedies used to treat tuberculosis. Tibetan healers usually use knotweed roots to compile potions and fees. Young stems and leaves are edible. You can use them to make salads with vegetables, eggs and butter, or season them with vegetable soups, as well as fish broths. Dry leaves are stored for the winter for the preparation of seasonings and decoctions.

Sporysh in bioenergy

The bird mountaineer has its own place in bioenergetic healing. It is believed that it belongs to the elements of the earth. According to legend, its esoteric significance lies in the fact that it helps to remove the damage caused by envious neighbors and prevents it from taking root in the body.

In addition, the mountaineer bird has directly magical, or rather, cleansing properties. Fresh or dried, it can help you fight against negative traits in your character (of course, only if you yourself want it).

To do this, in the evening, on the waning moon, go alone in the field (not just on the street, but in the field, this is important), leisurely pick a few individual blades of bird mountaineer. After that, you need to take the plucked grass in right hand, squeeze in the palm of your hand. Now you need to bring it to your mouth and whisper softly all those negative qualities that you want to get rid of (for example: irritability, arrogance, anger, intolerance, greed, etc.). Now you need to dig a hole in the ground as deep and wide as your fist and bury the plant there. Nobody should see this. You can use the grass that grows near your house. But not necessarily in the yard, it is even better if the grass grows behind the hedge. This will help you dispel the views and thoughts of ill-wishers and successfully complete what you want.

Contraindications

There are few contraindications for the highlander bird. Due to the high amount of silicic acid, this plant is not recommended for use in severe forms diseases of the kidneys and bladder.

Chapter 2

We collect, we prepare, we receive

Starting the collection of knotweed, you need to know the plant itself well, be able to distinguish it from related species, know the ecologically clean places where it is most often found.

It is necessary to harvest knotweed only in good, dry weather. Can't be stacked with plants different types. It is impossible to litter the collections with various impurities, earth, sand, etc. It is necessary to collect only those parts of the plant that are indicated as medicinal.

Biologically active substances accumulate in various parts plants. Their content varies throughout the life of the plant. It is necessary to know in which parts of the plant and in what period the concentration of these substances is maximum.

It is recommended to collect knotweed at the beginning of flowering. It is cut with a sharp knife without coarse ground parts. It is unacceptable to pull out plants with a root - this leads to a decrease in their natural reserves and, in addition, clogs the raw material.

Immediately before drying, the collected medicinal raw materials are sorted and sorted, removing impurities and damaged parts. Thick roots and rhizomes should be cut into transverse or longitudinal parts. The main task of drying is to remove moisture from plants. The faster the drying is done, the better the raw material will be. Drying of the collected plants is carried out immediately after collection. They cannot be left in bags and baskets even for several hours, and even more so at night, since fresh raw materials laid in a thick layer quickly warm up, and fermentation processes begin in it.

It is not recommended to dry knotweed in the sun, as this destroys a significant part of biologically active substances. Scatter grass to dry thin layer on newspaper, canvas or plywood. So that the raw material does not overheat, it is turned over several times a day. Drying is done in the shade, under a canopy, or in well-ventilated areas. The finished raw material should be well dried, break with a crunch, but not crumble.

Dried mountaineer requires certain storage conditions. Store medicinal raw materials in a dry, dark and cool place, away from dust and insects. Never mix various kinds plants, they should all be stored in separate packaging: paper and cloth bags, boxes, jars.

The shelf life of finished medicinal raw materials is established by the Ministry of Health. Usually it is 1-2 years for flowers and herbs, 3-5 years for bark, roots, tubers.

Before use, the collected knotweed herb is subjected to appropriate processing, a drug is prepared from it, which is convenient for use.

Can be used at home various methods cooking. In this case, the preparation of preparations with the addition of poisonous and potent plants should be avoided. For medicinal purposes, juices, powders, infusions, syrups, decoctions, tinctures and ointments are most often prepared from knotweed.

The importance of adherence to dosages should be emphasized herbal preparations especially when treating children. You can avoid mistakes if you remember the following rule: for each year of a child's life, 1/20 of the adult dose is required. To determine the weight of medicinal plants, it is desirable to have a pharmacy scale.

Chapter 3

Sporish in the treatment of diseases

Arthritis

Arthritis is an inflammatory disease of the joints of various origins, in which articular tissues, bone and cartilage surfaces of the joint are affected.

The causes of arthritis can be infections, trauma, immune and metabolic disorders, tumors, hereditary predisposition, chronic focal infection, or pathological changes in the bone elements of the joint (for example, osteomyelitis, tuberculous osteitis).

The clinical picture consists of characteristic features such as joint pain (arthralgia), swelling and effusion (accumulation of inflammatory fluid in the joint cavity), increased skin temperature, redness, and impaired function. Soreness on palpation usually extends to the entire surface of the joint, especially along the joint space.

In arthritis that has a subacute or chronic course, various anti-inflammatory drugs, both nonsteroidal and steroidal (hormonal), are widely used. The drugs of the last group are used mainly for local (intra-articular) therapy. With the subsidence of acute inflammatory phenomena in the joints, physiotherapeutic procedures are shown (UV radiation, electrophoresis of analgesics, amplipulse therapy, hydrocortisone phonophoresis), which help to reduce pain and residual inflammatory reactions that prevent the development of connective tissue and dysfunction of the joints.

For rubbing in the treatment of arthritis, it is advisable to use an alcohol tincture.

Required: 3 art. l. knotweed herbs, 100 ml of 70% alcohol.

Cooking. Grind the herb, pour it with alcohol, tightly close the lid and insist for 2 weeks in a dark, cool place. Strain.

Application. Drink 2 times a day before meals.

A good effect is given by an alcohol tincture, consisting of knotweed herb, common yarrow and calendula. Attention! An overdose of yarrow can cause dizziness and skin rashes. Follow the dosage carefully.

Application. In case of pain, rub the affected area.

The anti-inflammatory effect of these drugs, coupled with the analgesic properties of yarrow and restorative property sage officinalis beneficial effect and not bad healing effect in diseases such as rheumatism, polyarthritis and sciatica.

Gastritis

Gastritis is an inflammatory or inflammatory-dystrophic change in the gastric mucosa. It can be primary (acute) and be considered as an independent disease and secondary (chronic), accompanying a number of infectious and noncommunicable diseases and intoxications.

Acute gastritis develops as a result of acute intestinal infection (food poisoning, salmonellosis, escherichiosis, etc.); when using foods that irritate the gastric mucosa ( capsicum, mustard, cinnamon, vinegar, ethyl alcohol and its surrogates), some drugs (salicylates, atofan, butadione, digitalis preparations, phenacetin, aminophylline, etc.). The cause of the disease can be an allergic reaction to foods, such as eggs, some types of fish, strawberries, citrus fruits, milk, or to drugs (antibiotics, protein hydrolysates).

In the clinical picture, the dominant symptoms are sharp cramping pains and a burning sensation in the epigastric region, bad taste in the mouth, belching, heartburn, nausea, repeated vomiting of acidic contents mixed with mucus and bile, which does not bring relief. Acute gastritis, and especially gastroenteritis of an infectious or allergic nature, occurring with repeated vomiting and diarrhea, may be accompanied by symptoms of dehydration (such as dry mouth, hiccups, increasing general weakness, often convulsive twitching of the muscles of the limbs), fever, dysfunction of the cardiovascular system. The tongue is dry, lined with a white coating, there is a pronounced soreness when palpated in the region of the upper half of the abdomen and navel. Acute gastritis can be complicated by toxic damage to the myocardium, liver and kidneys, and cardiovascular insufficiency.

At acute gastritis perform outpatient or hospital treatment. It depends on the severity of the patient's condition. The provision of medical care in most cases begins with washing the stomach with boiled water using a thick probe, which is pre-lubricated with vegetable oil. When radioactive substances enter the stomach, along with gastric lavage, adsorbents are prescribed (activated charcoal, white clay) and saline laxatives. If it is impossible to insert a probe into the stomach, a tubeless lavage is performed: the patient is given a drink a large number of(1-2 l) of water, then induce vomiting by mechanical irritation of the root of the tongue and soft palate or subcutaneous injection of apomorphine. Gastric lavage is contraindicated in sharp decline blood pressure and shock.

For pain, spazmalgon, bellalgin, analgin, anestezin or novocaine solution are prescribed orally, with a pronounced pain syndrome - atropine, fentanyl, droperidol, baralgin intramuscularly, in severe cases drugs are used.

Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum

This is a chronic relapsing disease in which, as a result of disorders of the nervous and humoral mechanisms regulating the processes of digestion, an ulcer is formed in the stomach or duodenum (less often 2 ulcers or more).

Negative emotions, prolonged mental overstrain, pathological impulses from the affected internal organs in chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis and others, they are often the cause of the development of peptic ulcer. Among other factors, the violation of the production of digestive juices and enzymes is important. A certain role is played by hereditary constitutional factors (hereditary predisposition occurs among patients with peptic ulcer in 15-40% of cases).

The direct formation of an ulcer occurs as a result of a violation of the physiological balance between aggressive (this is active gastric juice, bile reflux) and protective factors (this is gastric and duodenal mucus, cellular regeneration, the normal state of local blood flow, protective action some hormones, and alkaline reaction saliva and pancreatic juice). In the formation of ulcers in the stomach, the decrease in the barrier function of the mucous membrane, the weakening of its resistance to the damaging effects of acidic gastric juice, are of the greatest importance. In the mechanism of the development of ulcers in the outlet section of the stomach and especially in the duodenum, on the contrary, the decisive factor is the increased aggressiveness of the acid factor.

During the period of exacerbation, the pain is daily, occurs on an empty stomach, after eating it temporarily decreases or disappears and reappears (with a stomach ulcer after 1/2 - 1 hour, duodenal ulcer - 1.5-2.5 hours). Frequent night pain. Pain is relieved by antacids, anticholinergics, thermal procedures on the epigastric region. Often peptic ulcer of the duodenum is accompanied by constipation.

Features of peptic ulcer are the nature of pain (hungry, after eating after a certain period of time, night), long course diseases with periodic exacerbations in the spring and autumn periods, the presence of hydrochloric acid in gastric juice during the study.

You have probably seen flocks of sparrows along the roads, which swarm in the autumn in low grass, chirping merrily, this grass is knotweed. As soon as it is not called by the people: knotweed, grass-ant, bird buckwheat, goose, trample-grass, sparrow tongues, but all this is one and the same plant called highlander bird.

Now I myself am finishing the course of treatment with this herb. I take it for prevention - cleansing the body so that salts do not accumulate, and it relieves inflammatory processes in the body very well, if there is something somewhere, it is good for blood vessels. The course of treatment is usually 3 weeks. Let's see what this grass looks like.

Knotweed. Herb collection, harvesting

Knotweed grows everywhere, but, of course, it cannot be collected in the city, you need to look for it away from city roads and railways.

It is also necessary to distinguish it from other types of highlander, which medicinal properties do not possess. It is not difficult to do this, look carefully at the photographs, in knotweed the stem begins to branch from the ground itself, the stems are divided into knees, the leaves are elliptical in shape, and small nondescript flowers are located in the axils of the leaves and have a dirty white color with a pink tint.

For medicinal purposes, knotweed is harvested at the beginning of flowering, this usually happens at the end of June - at the beginning of July, the aerial part is cut off at the base, leaving the lowest leaves, then dried with any accessible way without exposing to direct sunlight.

It is not recommended to store dried grass for more than two years, it eventually loses its healing properties. Glass jars, thick paper bags or linen and cotton bags are suitable for storage.

Where to buy knotweed grass? Price

If you do not want to harvest the herb yourself, buy it at a pharmacy. It is sold in almost every pharmacy. It is very inexpensive. We recently bought it in Yaroslavl for 30 rubles. Packing 50 grams.

You can not use them for people with thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, anyone who is prone to blood clots, since taking knotweed, which increases blood clotting, can lead to an attack of angina pectoris and even to a heart attack and stroke.

Knotweed is not prescribed for those who have low blood pressure.

Despite the fact that knotweed is able to soften and remove stones from the kidneys and gallbladder, people with gallstones and kidney stones can take knotweed with caution and only after consulting a doctor so as not to aggravate the situation, as the stone can block bile ducts which poses a threat to life.

People with urinary tract stones larger than 6 mm should also not take knotweed.

Here is some information for you today useful properties knotweed and its contraindications.

And for the soul, today we will listen to an old waltz autumn dream. Many considered it to be a native work written in Russia, but its homeland is in distant foggy Albion. It was written by pianist and composer Archibald Joyce in 1908. Just such a nostalgia ... Brass band and an amazing waltz.

I wish you all good health good mood, simple joys of life and all the warmest and kindest.

Sporish is annual plant. It acquired an unusual name because its damaged shoots are restored very quickly (“spore”). Of course he has official name- highlander bird. However, people liked the first - knotweed. That's what people call him. The plant is so unpretentious that it can be found literally anywhere. Unless it grows in frosty Antarctica and the Arctic.
