How can you use an asterisk with a cold?

Asterisk with a cold - inexpensive and effective remedy. Features of the application depend on the form of release of the drug. If we are talking about a balm, then it is used in therapeutic acupressure of active points on the face. With a runny nose, an asterisk is applied to the outer part of the wings of the nose, including the depressions between them and the cheeks, the nasolabial fold, earlobes, on the massage point of the chin and between the eyebrows.

No less effective is inhalation with an asterisk for rhinitis. They do it this way: they heat water in a container to a boil, add balm to it (no more than a droplet, the size of a match head) and bend over this container, covered with a towel. "Golden Star" dissolves perfectly in water, and essential oils easily evaporate with water molecules. Care must be taken to inhale aromatic steam, as it is possible to burn the organs of the respiratory system. A competent approach to the procedure guarantees a positive effect: nasal breathing improves, congestion disappears, headaches and other symptoms of a cold decrease. The duration of inhalation is 10-15 minutes. The procedure is recommended before bedtime.

With a runny nose, asterisk balm can be added to the bath - the drug will act similarly to inhalation. This is the only way that aromatic oil vapors affect the entire body, additionally providing a relaxing effect, relieving muscle pain.

At acute rhinitis rubbing with a Vietnamese star is effective: chest, back (ignoring the heart area) and feet are thoroughly rubbed with balm, then they put on a warm jacket, socks and wrap themselves in a warm blanket. In this state, you need to stay 50-60 minutes. However, the procedure is contraindicated if the patient has an increase in body temperature.

Where should you smear with an asterisk with a cold?

Far from everyone knows where and where to smear the "Golden Star". There are active points on the human body, massage effects on which produce a good therapeutic effect. With the use of an asterisk from a cold (balm or ointment), this effect is enhanced. You need to smear with an asterisk specific points located on the face, including:

  • outer surface of the wings of the nose;
  • nasolabial fold;
  • earlobes;
  • between the eyebrows;
  • whiskey;
  • chin;
  • hollow between the cheek and the wings of the nose.

It is easy to determine the massage point: you should press on one of the areas with your index finger - the painful place will indicate the location of the necessary area for applying the balm. rubbed means light massage movements in a clockwise direction, acting on the area for 1-2 minutes, periodically pressing on the point with great effort. Acupressure with an asterisk can be performed up to 6 times a day.

Features of using an asterisk during pregnancy

Pregnancy, in which a woman suffers from a runny nose, cannot become an obstacle to the use of an asterisk, since the drug is characterized by high safety and natural components, which means that theoretically it cannot harm the unborn baby. However, if the body of a pregnant woman is prone to allergic reactions, then it is better to refuse the use of an asterisk.

During lactation, the Golden Star can be used, but with great forethought.

An asterisk is smeared with acupuncture points so that the balm does not get on the baby's skin, after which hands are thoroughly washed with soap and water. Since the skin of newborns is very sensitive, even the smallest amount of balm can cause serious irritation to the baby's skin.

Asterisk from the common cold for children

Before using an asterisk for a runny nose in young children, it is recommended to consult a pediatrician, since the children's body is very sensitive to the elements of the drug. For this reason, the use of the balm is limited to the age of patients: Vietnamese balm is approved for use in children from 3 years of age with extreme caution. Before use, it is recommended to conduct a simple test to determine the reaction to the agent: for this, a little balm is applied to the inside of the elbow bend and after half an hour the reaction is checked. If there is no redness of the skin, the remedy may be applicable for the treatment of rhinitis. Redness of the skin means that it is better to refuse the balm.

How to properly smear a child with an asterisk in case of a cold? A little money is applied to the massage areas near the nose, eyebrows, chin. Inhalations with balm for children are done under the supervision of adults, followed by monitoring the condition of the baby - this procedure can provoke bronchospasm.

Types of "Asterisks" and their features

In pharmacies you can see 3 varieties of the "Golden Star".

  1. Ointment "Asterisk": in its composition, in addition to the main components, it has several additional ones that create its structure. The ointment is a soft yellowish mass. Packed in metal boxes of 4 and 10 g. The ointment is convenient for use in any procedure - inhalation, rubbing, massage.
  2. Pencils "Asterisk" from the common cold are, in fact, small individual inhalers with a cooling effect. As part of such balms, the main components are used - menthol, essential oils. It is allowed to perform cold inhalations up to 15 times a day. Each procedure takes up to 30 seconds. The peculiarity of this balm is that the drug enters directly on the mucous membrane of the olfactory organ, affecting it instantly.
  3. Liquid balm consists of the main components - essential oils and menthol. Available in a small bottle, the liquid has a brownish color. It is convenient to use for inhalations, aromatherapy, baths. The liquid balm is used exclusively externally.

Will an asterisk help with rhinitis? To remove the symptoms and improve the patient's well-being - yes, but to completely cure rhinitis - no. Therefore, Vietnamese balm is recommended to be used in conjunction with other drugs. And do not forget about the precautions: do not get too carried away with this drug, because in large quantities it can provoke general malaise, migraines and dizziness.

Introduction

At present, medicine has reached a high level. However, we should not forget that the recipes of many modern highly effective drugs based on traditional medicine recipes. At the dawn of civilization, it was the only kind of medicine. But primitive people already knew how to heal fractures, set dislocations, knew about the healing properties of many plants, and also noticed the healing effect of sunlight and water. Traditional medicine has accumulated a lot of empirical information about the healing properties of medicinal herbs, minerals and some other natural objects, laid the foundations for hygiene, as well as the prevention of a number of diseases. This knowledge for a long time passed down from generation to generation, reflected in traditions and legends, as well as in some rituals and traditions. Later, the accumulated information was summarized and recorded in writing in medical treatises, medical books and herbalists.

The Asterisk balm, to which this book is dedicated, was developed on the basis of products that have been used in oriental medicine since ancient times, the basis of which has always been the use of natural remedies. Tibetan sages and healers of China, Vietnam and others Eastern countries believed that in nature there is no such substance that would not be suitable as medicinal product if used correctly.

Modern scientific medicine carefully studies the achievements of thousands of years of folk experience, using all the most valuable and rational in the creation of new highly effective drugs. Zvezdochka balm, developed by Vietnamese scientists on the basis of old recipes, is approved by the Russian Ministry of Health. Currently, the pharmaceutical industry produces several varieties of the drug, intended for the treatment of relevant diseases. The universal balm "Asterisk" is also produced, which can be used in the treatment a wide range diseases. This book tells in detail about medicinal plants, the oils and extracts of which are part of the preparation, as well as some other components of the Asterisk balm; the symptoms of diseases in which the balm is used are described, the use of the drug is described, and some Vietnamese legends about miraculous remedies are given, which, apparently, were the forerunners of the Asterisk balm, which was subsequently developed on their basis.

1. The composition of the balm "Asterisk"

Balsam "Asterisk" was created by Vietnamese scientists who used a composition of essential oils of several medicinal plants, as well as some other substances.

The therapeutic and prophylactic properties of the Zvezdochka balm are recognized by official medicine. As a result of the studies, it was proved that the substances included in the Zvezdochka balm do not have a negative effect on human skin.

Currently, the pharmaceutical industry produces several varieties of Asterisk balm. "Asterisk balm Anti-cold" is used as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent for inflammatory processes of the respiratory system. “Asterisk Balm Pain Reliever” is a therapeutic and prophylactic agent that can be used for back and joint pain, muscle pain, inflammation of muscles, ligaments, as well as sports injuries without compromising the integrity of the skin. "Asterisk Balm Universal" can be used in the treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases, headaches and dizziness, back and joint pain, mosquito bites, mosquitoes and other insects. "Asterisk Post-Traumatic Balm" is used for bruises and sprains to relieve swelling and pain as well as in acute and chronic vascular insufficiency lower extremities. "Asterisk Gentle Balm" is designed as a remedy that should be used for mosquito and other insect bites, contact with jellyfish and stinging plants, as well as for skin irritations and burns.

It should be remembered that the balm cannot be used in the treatment of children under 5 years of age.

The asterisk balm contains formic acid, menthol, rosehip extract, eucalyptus oil, clove oil, peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, camphor, pharmaceutical vaseline, Soyuz product, kemaben-2.

The drug has an analgesic and antiseptic effect in inflammatory processes, has anti-inflammatory, penetrating and tonic properties, stimulates and normalizes peripheral circulation, has antipyretic and diaphoretic action. Contraindication to use is only individual intolerance to the components that make up the balm. The healing properties of the balm are due to the healing properties of the plants from which it is made.

Allspice

The clove tree is an evergreen plant of the myrtle family. The leaves are opposite leathery. Small, four-petalled flowers, white or Pink colour form an inflorescence brush. The fruit is a berry. Motherland clove tree are the Moluccas. Currently, the plant is cultivated in many tropical countries.

Clove oil, which is part of the Asterisk balm, is not obtained from garden or forest cloves, which are well known to everyone, but from the flowers, leaves and buds of the clove tree. The buds of this plant are similar in shape and color to small nails, which, apparently, served as the basis for the name of the tree.

Whole clove buds and their powder have been used as a spice since ancient Greece and ancient Rome. The aroma of clove, or cinammon, was considered among the nobility as one of the most noble and elegant incense.

Under mechanical action, tears of individual tissue fibers occur, which are accompanied by damage to blood vessels and internal hemorrhage. The ligaments of the ankle and knee joints are most commonly affected.

For more serious sprains, the doctor applies a cast for 2-3 weeks, and then prescribes physiotherapy and a set of therapeutic exercises.

There are mild sprains, in which pain is observed for 1-2 days, and there are more severe ones, accompanied by swelling. In the latter case, complete recovery may take a long period of time, from 2-3 weeks to 1 month. Motor activity during this period is markedly reduced. If the stretch is accompanied by damage nerve fibers, there may be a temporary loss of sensation. If a sprain occurs, you should see a doctor and have an X-ray exam to make sure there is no broken bone. With light sprains, the injured joint is tightly bandaged. It is necessary to provide the victim with rest for 1-3 days.

Pain relievers for external use can be used to relieve pain, including the Asterisk balm, which, thanks to its extracts and essential oils, not only eliminates pain, but also contributes to speedy recovery damaged joint tissues. The changes in the structure of the intermediate substance and collagen fibers occurring at the first stage are still insignificant and are reversible. At the next stage, more significant damage to the connective tissue occurs, as a result of which some of the cells die. At the third stage, the formation of rheumatic nodules and scars occurs.

The streptococcus virus not only causes rheumatism, but also provokes an exacerbation of this disease.

Symptoms of rheumatism are lethargy, weakness, fever up to 38-39 ° C, pain in the joints, swelling, as well as redness and dysfunction of the joints. Rheumatism often affects large joints. After 7-10 days, symptoms of rheumatic heart disease appear: pain in the heart area and arrhythmia, shortness of breath, as well as changes that are detected by the doctor when examining the patient. Damage to the nervous system and blood vessels is observed. The course of the disease may be different. For acute or subacute forms diseases with timely treatment, recovery, as a rule, occurs quickly. However, the main danger of rheumatism is that it can cause heart defects.

Symptoms of the disease are lethargy, weakness, a feeling of dryness in the nasopharynx and mild itching in the nose. There is difficulty in nasal breathing frequent sneezing, lacrimation, copious discharge from the nose, there is a decrease in smell and a change in the timbre of the voice. Discharge from the nose is usually mucopurulent, but if the integrity of the blood vessels is violated, it can also be bloody. Acute rhinitis is always bilateral. Main danger the common cold lies in the fact that inflammatory processes can spread to other parts of the respiratory tract. With a favorable course of the disease, the symptoms disappear after 12-14 days.

Chronic rhinitis can develop for a number of reasons, according to which a simple (catarrhal) rhinitis is distinguished, as well as hypertrophic and atrophic.

Simple chronic runny nose can develop as a complication of acute rhinitis under the influence of various environmental stimuli (mechanical, thermal or chemical), with diseases of the paranasal sinuses or circulatory disorders in the nasal mucosa due to various diseases.

Symptoms in this case are periodic nasal congestion and copious discharge. Nasal congestion is more often unilateral.

Chronic hypertrophic rhinitis develops as a result of chronic rhinitis under the influence of such negative factors external environment, like chemical substances, dust or sudden changes in climate. Also, the cause of hypertrophic rhinitis can be inflammatory processes in paranasal sinuses nose or adenoids - proliferation of connective tissue. However, these types of rhinitis develop under the influence of specific causes. Vasomotor runny nose manifests itself with minor irritations of the nerve endings of the nasal cavity in persons with general autonomic disorders, therefore, it is a disease of a neuro-reflex nature.

allergic rhinitis is a local response to the corresponding stimulus. Such an irritant (allergen) can be plant pollen (in this case we are talking about seasonal allergies) or various household allergens - dust, animal hair, substances that make up synthetic detergents, cosmetics and perfumes.

With allergic and vasomotor rhinitis, inflammatory processes in the nasal cavity are not observed.

To alleviate the condition of the victim and relieve discomfort, the Zvezdochka balm can be used for mosquito and mosquito bites, as well as for contact with jellyfish. In the latter case, we are not talking about a bite, but about the effect on human skin of special stinging cells, which the jellyfish throws out when danger arises.

In case of insect bites and contact with jellyfish, a small amount of Asterisk balm is applied to the damaged area of the skin. The substances that make up the drug help to alleviate pain and eliminate skin itching, so the balm should be in the first-aid kit for everyone who goes out of town, to the country in the summer, and even more so on a tourist trip.

3. Balm "Asterisk": reality and ancient legends

secrets oriental medicine came to us from ancient times. Despite the fact that at present there are many new remedies and methods of treatment, ancient recipes have not lost their popularity, on the contrary, many modern drugs and treatment methods based on them. For example, the practice of acupuncture, developed centuries ago, is an accepted method of treatment by mainstream medicine. The recipe for the Asterisk balm, which is successfully used for many diseases, is also based on the knowledge accumulated by ancient Vietnamese healers. Means similar in composition were used by the Vietnamese many centuries ago, and although the original recipe was lost, scientists managed to reconstruct it and create unique drug- balm "Asterisk". Mention of the use of drugs, the action of which is very similar to the action of this remedy, can be found in some legends and tales of the Vietnamese people. Vietnam as a state has a long and complex history, and its culture is distinguished by its unique originality.

Vietnam - the "homeland" of the asterisk balm

Vietnam, or the country of Viet, as this state is called in ancient legends, is located in South-East Asia, on the Indochina peninsula. The territory of Vietnam stretches in a narrow strip along the eastern coast of the peninsula for 1750 km. In the north, Vietnam borders on China, in the west - on Laos and Cambodia. From the east, the state is washed by the South China Sea, from the southwest by the Gulf of Thailand.

From the end of the 19th century Vietnam was a French colony. As a result of the 1945 revolution, a independent state Democratic Republic Vietnam. After the war 1945–1954 in Geneva, an agreement was concluded, as a result of which the territory of Vietnam was temporarily divided by a demarcation line running along the Ben Hai River. In 1955, the Republic of Vietnam was established in the south of the country.

The population of the country is made up of the Vietnamese, together with the Muongs close to them, as well as the Chinese and a large group of peoples inhabiting the mountainous regions. The most widespread religion is Buddhism. Other beliefs are also preserved: Taoism, Confucianism and the ancient cult of ancestors. A small part of the population professes Christianity, Islam and Brahmanism.

It is interesting to note that, although the official calendar in Vietnam is the Gregorian, along with it, the ancient lunisolar calendar, consisting of 60-year cycles, is also used in everyday life. The beginning of the year of this Gregorian calendar can fall on different dates, from January 20 to February 21.

Like all peoples, the Vietnamese have their own original folklore. As you know, over time, many real events are overgrown with fabulous details. This is how legends arise - narrative works of a historical and legendary nature. As already mentioned above, in some of them one can find a mention of therapeutic agents, which, apparently, were the predecessors of the Asterisk balm and could have a similar composition. Here are some of these ancient stories.

First story

A long time ago, in a mountain village, a son was born into the family of a poor peasant. When he was born, a fox ran to the house of the parents of the newborn and said that their son was born at a happy hour and he was destined to marry the daughter of the ruler.

When the boy was fourteen years old, he said goodbye to his family and set off on a journey in search of his fate. He came to a big city and became an apprentice to an old doctor, from whom he learned about the properties of medicinal plants and how to prepare medicines from them. He quickly learned everything the old man knew, and soon began to make his own medicines. Soon the fame of him spread far around, and many sick people from different areas came to him in the hope of healing.

At that time, the ruler of this country fell ill. Severe pain bent him, and no means helped. All over the country, messengers announced the ruler's order for all healers to immediately go to the capital. To the one who can cure him, the ruler promised to give his daughter and half of his possessions as a wife. The one who undertakes to treat him, but fails, awaits a painful execution.

Reluctantly, the doctors gathered at the order of the ruler. No one wanted to risk their lives, although the promised reward was huge. But the doctor's apprentice stepped forward and boldly announced that he was going to treat the sovereign. Indeed, several days passed and the ruler felt better.

The ruler kept his promise and married the young man his daughter, whose dowry was half of her father's possessions. And after many years, the son of a simple peasant from a mountain village himself became the ruler. The recipe for the balm with which he cured his future father-in-law was kept secret for a long time and was passed down by inheritance to the descendants of the doctor's apprentice, who became the sovereign.

The second story

A long time ago, in a small village on the banks of a fast mountain river, a son was born into a peasant family. At the hour when he was born, a dazzlingly bright blue star lit up in the sky, and an old vicious tiger suffocated in the forest with rage.

When the boy grew up, he announced to his parents that he wanted to leave his native land. At that time, the country was at war with the invaders. The young man dreamed of the time when the enemies would be driven away, but first he decided to learn the art of healing - after all, you need to be able not only to kill enemies, but also to heal your friends. He went to the city, where he became an assistant to the old doctor.

Now, when his parents looked at the sky in search of the star that had lit up over their house every evening for all these years, they saw that it was burning far from their native places in the direction where their son had gone.

After a while, the young man learned everything that the doctor could teach him. Then he left the city, gathered a detachment of the same fearless young people who hoped to expel the enemies from their country as soon as possible, and took refuge in the mountains, from where every now and then he carried out sorties against enemy detachments. However, there were many enemies, and the detachment of the brave young man was small, although his warriors were swift and merciless, so that the opponents feared them more than wandering spirits, and their leader was nicknamed "Avenger who comes in darkness."

However, a small detachment of fearless warriors cannot defeat all enemy troops. It is necessary that all the people rise up to fight at the same time. But how to raise everyone at the same time?

At this time, an epidemic of a certain disease broke out in the country, which was accompanied by fever, cough and runny nose. Although at first the disease did not seem dangerous, it often became more and more severe, and many people died, since there were very few doctors in the country who could help. Then the leader of a tiny detachment of daredevils remembered his knowledge of the art of medicine. He and his friends spent several nights collecting medicinal herbs, and then he made a medicine, which he laid out in many boxes, on which was the inscription: "Rub your forehead, temples and nose, and you will be healthy." His friends changed into medical clothes and dispersed throughout the country, handing each sick and healthy Vietnamese two boxes: white and red. The red one was with medicine, and on the white one was the inscription: "Open on the day of the autumn full moon at the hour of sunrise." Soon the epidemic stopped.

On the appointed day and hour, thousands of Vietnamese opened the mysterious white boxes. They contained identical notes: “When a blue star lights up in the sky, beat the enemies.”

At sunset, thousands and thousands of Vietnamese came out to fight the enemy. Now it was not a small detachment that was fighting, but the whole people. Soon the enemies were defeated, and the remnants of their troops fled the country.

The third story

A long time ago, a young man lived in a city. He was from a rich and noble family, there was plenty of everything in his house, but his health was poor. The young man's mother once called on fortune tellers, hoping that they would tell her where to look for a remedy to heal her son. The fortune-tellers conferred for a long time, burned incense to the spirits for a long time, and finally the eldest of them announced that an unprecedented fate awaited the young man - he would become the husband of a heavenly fairy. Such a prediction seemed to the old woman a mockery. “My son is sick all the time,” she said. - I hoped that I would find out a means to cure him, but, apparently, there is no will of heaven for that. Where can he marry a princess from the heavenly palace!

Once a young man was sitting in his room, plucking the strings of a zither, when suddenly the doors flung open of their own accord, and a girl of about sixteen easily entered the room. “My lady, the Princess of Heavenly Ivy, has sent me to you,” she said. - According to the records of fate, she ordered to convey, you are destined to become husband and wife with her. Tonight at sunset, be ready to meet the lady.” She said and disappeared as if she never existed.

All day the young man only thought about the princess. Decorated the house, ordered to cook the best dishes. Evening has come. And then suddenly weakness seized him, his head began to spin, so that his eyes flashed and his joints ache. He hears the doors open, the princess enters, and he not only goes to meet her, but it hurts to move. Suddenly he sees - a girl of unearthly beauty is approaching him. She bent over him and said: “I was afraid that the Spirit of the Gray Mountain would try to interfere with our connection. After all, it was he who brought this disease on you. ” So saying, she took out a tiny box of jasper, opened it, and a fragrance spread around the room. The princess scooped up a drop of golden balm from the box, touched the young man's forehead, and he felt his strength return to him.

For many years the young man lived with the princess of Heavenly Ivy. They had two sons. One day his wife said to him: “My father, Lord Jasper, demands my return home. It is bitter that I have to part with you, but my duty is to obey my father. I don’t know if we are destined to meet again, but know that my flesh will sooner melt than love for you. In parting, she gave her husband a jasper box and said that the herbs from which that wonderful balm is made grow near the Yellow Dragon Lake, and they should be collected on the full moon. “Our eldest son is destined to be a great healer, and our youngest son is destined to be a brave warrior,” she said. “Write down for them what I just told you. Years will pass, and their descendants will not remember the power of those herbs. After that, she said goodbye to her husband and children and disappeared.

The note, made by the hand of the spouse of the princess of Heavenly Ivy, was passed down in his family for a long time. Many centuries later, during the war, his descendants were forced to flee, and their house burned down. Many years later, a peasant worked his field and found a smoked stone tablet with an inscription. When he read it, he realized that it was a recipe for some kind of drug. It turned out that his field is located in the very place where the house of the husband of the heavenly fairy once stood. The peasant who found his recording made the remedy, exactly following the instructions, and tried the balm first on himself and his household, and then on his fellow villagers. Soon the whole neighborhood knew about the miraculous remedy. So the heavenly fairy balm became known to the people of Vietnam.
