What helps to keep the brain active. How to increase brain activity

During the hot period of exams and writing my thesis, I realized that my brain is not working as fast as I would like. I can’t concentrate, attention is scattered because of this, I don’t remember the material well, I can’t collect the necessary thoughts and form them correctly. I think many of you are familiar with these symptoms. So, I set out to find a few effective ways for pumping the brain, below are some of them.

One of the main and necessary "tweaks" of your brain is memory improvement.

Memory training

Games like lotto, chess, and even cards, help optimize memory, if you periodically play chess with your computer or, better, with a friend, then this will clearly bear fruit after a while.

divination crosswords and decision puzzles also good for memory. Sometimes, when you have nothing to do, instead of watching TV, you can sit on some crossword puzzle for 5 minutes. And if you are doing well with mathematics, you can try to solve simple examples or equations from the school course.

Fortunately, our computer and the Internet again come to our aid, there is no need to go after old newspapers or magazines and look for sections with crossword puzzles there. For example on Facebook there is a great app Brain Buddies, which can train your memory and attention through simple, but numerous puzzles and tasks. Attention is very important for good memory function.

In order to remember something well, it is necessary to get a clear and vivid impression. And for this it is necessary focus and study carefully
the required material. Even five minutes of complete concentration and attention to the subject being studied will give a good result, especially if
take advantage of not only visual memory, but also to speak the studied aloud.
Application helps to improve memory even more visual associations. So, having studied the text, it is necessary to imagine it in the form visual pictures- this will allow you to remember the material for a long time.

Memory exercises

1. Tell yourself: remember this!

For example, if you were presented stranger, say his name to yourself and tell yourself to remember it. So you unconsciously transfer this information to the status of more important.

2. Find motivation

Try to imagine how the person whose name you need to remember can be useful to you in the future? The search for motivation will stimulate the brain, and it will be easier to remember the name.
3. Associate! "Method of Cicero", "method of the Roman room" or "method of places".

Its essence lies in the fact that the "units of information" that need to be remembered are mentally placed in a well-known room in a strictly defined order. Then it is enough to remember this room in order to reproduce the necessary information.
4. Learn foreign languages

This most directly activates memory and develops associative thinking. It will become easier to memorize not only foreign words, but also facts from Everyday life that previously required constant reminder.

5. Remember phone numbers

To get started, learn the phone numbers, including cell phones, of those with whom you communicate most often. Then start memorizing numbers less than important people. Look at the number, look away, repeat the numbers to yourself - and so on until the number is completely remembered. In the future, unnecessary phones will be forgotten due to uselessness, and this is normal. The main thing is to keep the information in memory for at least a few days.

6. The method is based on a game called "dice".

Develops memory and attention. They train pilots, chess players and special services. The bottom line: you need to buy 10 identical bones, in size and color, take 3 to start, shake in your hands (or not in your hands), put on the table, raise your hand for a split second and cover again so that you see all 3 bones, say , what numbers fell out and the approximate arrangement of the cubes. Gradually increase the number of bones, try to bring it up to 10. When it becomes easy, you can replace some of the bones with others of a different size and color. Over time, it is worth changing objects, for example, trying to do this with rice cereal. Repeat the exercise daily for 15 minutes.

7. This method is used by almost all participants in the memorization championship.

So, a person can keep his attention on an object as long as he is interested in it and as long as he can find something new in it. Then attention weakens and switches. This is a proven fact. The essence of the exercise: imagine any object, for example, a laptop, and keep the thought on it. At the same time, nothing can be done with an imaginary object, only present a static image. In a few minutes you will already be thinking about something else, but not about the subject, and if at first you thought about a laptop, then you start thinking about which model, then which manufacturer, etc. Everyone thinks something of their own, but everyone gets a logical chain. At the moment when you realize that you are no longer thinking about the subject, you must go back along your chain, remembering each link and, as a result, return to the subject. Then we repeat. Exercise should be done daily, taking into account the specifics - almost anywhere. The methods were suggested by Nikita Semenov from SECL GROUP

8. Exercise of Pythagoras.

Every morning and evening, you need to scroll through all the events of the past day in your mind, remembering them to the smallest detail and smallest detail. In addition, you should evaluate your own actions committed that day, asking yourself the following questions: "What did I do today? What didn't I do right? What actions deserve condemnation and require swinging?

Having mastered the one-day technique of the examination of consciousness, begin to gradually plunge into the past, remembering what happened yesterday, the day before yesterday, etc. If you have the character to do this every day, success is guaranteed (this is verified) - the most powerful computer with a huge database will envy your memory.

By training in this way constantly, in a month or two you will learn to keep your attention constantly on ... you will be able to instantly restore the events of any period of life up to birth, you will easily memorize huge pieces of text and long poems, rows of numbers, sets of objects, scales of colors, melodies etc.

9. Mozart effect

A decade ago, psychologist Francis Roscher and his colleagues made a discovery. It turns out that listening to Mozart's music improves people's mathematical thinking. Even rats navigated mazes faster and more accurately after listening to Mozart than they did after noise or the music of the minimalist composer Philip Glas. Last year, Roscher reported that in rats, Mozart's sonata stimulated the activity of three genes associated with cells that send signals to the brain.

This is the most harmonious way to improve your mental capacity. But before you pick up the CDs, be aware that not everyone who aspires to the Mozart effect will get it. In addition, even its proponents are inclined to believe that music enhances the ability of the brain, because it makes listeners feel better. Both relaxation and stimulation of the body occur at the same time.

10. Drink, but in moderation!

A study involving 3,500 Japanese men found that those who consumed small amounts of alcohol had better cognitive function than those who did not drink at all. But, unfortunately, as soon as you drink more than you should, your memory immediately deteriorates.

A rat study determined that those who consume a lot of alcohol lose cells immediately after drinking it. It has been proven that alcohol not only damages mental abilities, but also prevents their recovery.

11. Love for the brain

In a series of studies by Dr. Cutler and colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania and later at Stanford University, it was found that regular sexual contact had a beneficial effect on women. Sexual contact at least once a week resulted in regular menstrual cycles, more short periods, delayed menopause, increased estrogen levels and slowed down the aging process. Increasing estrogen levels by having more sex helps improve brain function.

In Dr. Cutler's study, having an orgasm was not as important. Intimacy and emotional connection were the most influential factors.

12. Eye exercise

According to the latest scientific research, doing the following exercise every day for just 30 seconds improves memory by 10%: you need to simultaneously move the pupils from side to side. This exercise enhances the coordination of both hemispheres of the brain and helps to activate its areas responsible for memory.

Physiology

It is also very important for the brain to receive timely and complete oxygen. For this it is enough breathe deeply at the moment when you need to move the convolutions. Brain activity is equally effectively improved by relaxation and a large amount of oxygen in the blood, and when deep breathing the body relaxes. And you need to breathe only through the nose and sit up straight. This posture will allow you to focus and think more “healthy”. Experiment: first decide in your mind some math problem sitting on a chair slouching and with open mouth, and then - straightening up, with a closed mouth. You will immediately see the difference.

BUT exercise enough for blood to flow to the brain. A small charge will "wake up" the brain and activate its activity. Walking is best, but simple exercises on the spot (squats, jumping jacks) may be enough. You have probably noticed that when you walk, the flow of thoughts is much more active.

Scientists at the Salk Institute for Biological Research in California found that mice running on a spinning wheel have twice as many cells in the area of the brain that is responsible for learning and memory. Why is the mental capacity of more active rodents better? Perhaps voluntary exercise is not as difficult and therefore more beneficial. This means that when you enjoy sports, you become smarter and happier.

And of course, the brain needs the right food..

Eat fish!
The oil found in walnuts and fish has long been considered only good for the heart. But a recent study found that it is good for the brain too. There is not only an improvement in the air circulation system, which supplies oxygen to the head, but also the function of cell membranes improves. This is why people who eat a lot of fish are less likely to experience depression, dementia, even attention deficit disorder. Scientists have noted that fatty substances are necessary for mental development children. It is possible that your own mental development, and even intelligence, can be improved by sufficient consumption of this oil.

Eat at least three pieces of fish per week. For example, salmon, sardine, tuna.

You can consume daily about 30 percent of calories as fat but most of it should come from the aforementioned fish, olive oil, nuts. Avoid fats found in crackers and snack foods.

Proper nutrition the brain needs to build its cells purely physically, and the blood must constantly deliver nutrients to the brain - building materials. What building materials does the brain need? This is a sufficient amount of fatty acids of plant origin, the main sources of which are vegetable oil. From minerals the brain needs phosphorus, sulfur, copper, zinc, calcium, iron and magnesium.

Phosphorus promotes the formation of brain cells. Products containing phosphorus: beans, cauliflower, celery, cucumbers, radishes, soybeans, walnuts.

Sulfur necessary for the normal ability of brain cells to be saturated with oxygen. Sulfur is found in cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, garlic, figs, onions, potatoes.

Zinc increases mental faculties and improves the composition of the blood, and also prevents some nervous diseases. Zinc is found in germinated wheat and wheat bran.

Calcium necessary for normal processes hematopoiesis, prevents the penetration of pathogens into the blood, and therefore protects against infection. Calcium contain apples, apricots, beets, cabbage, carrots, cherries, cucumbers, grapes, green vegetables, almonds, oranges, peaches, pineapple, strawberries, whole grains.

Iron ensures the normal composition of the blood and the necessary level of hemoglobin in the blood, without it life is impossible important processes in brain tissues. rich in iron beans, cabbage, cherries, green vegetables, mustard, oranges, peas, pineapples, tomatoes, rice, shellfish, apples.

Magnesium necessary for normal functioning nervous system and prevention of nervous diseases, insomnia, anxiety, headache, anxiety. Magnesium can be obtained from such foods, like almonds, lettuce, mint, chicory, olives, peanuts, potatoes, pumpkin, plums, walnuts, whole wheat grains.

In addition, the brain needs a number of vitamins, especially E and groups AT. These vitamins are found in lettuce, sunflower oil, wheat germ, nuts, dried beans, polished rice, mustard greens, cabbage, spinach, oranges, grapefruits, melon, avocados, bananas.

And, of course, the brain needs a large amount oxygen. Products such as potatoes, parsley, mint, horseradish, radishes, onions, tomatoes help oxygenate the brain.

Almost most valuable product for the brain are apples . The substances contained in them have a very beneficial effect on the vessels of the brain. They strengthen and heal the cells lining the inner layer of blood vessels, increase the elasticity of blood vessels and prevent their blockage. Therefore, apples reduce the likelihood of cerebral hemorrhage, which often causes death. One of the most serious illnesses- hemorrhage - associated with a violation of cerebral circulation due to blockage of cerebral vessels. To prevent this dangerous phenomenon, it is enough to eat only one apple a day. Substances contained in apple juice protect brain cells from oxidative stress, which leads to memory loss and decreased intelligence. Therefore, apples and apple juice help to keep the mind clear in old age. Apples also help focus.

Eggs
Probably the best source choline(aka vitamin B4) - the basis for production in the body acetylcholine. This substance acts on the nerve endings in the brain, helping to improve memory and reaction speed. People with protein intolerance can replace eggs with bananas, tomatoes, or nuts, but they contain much less choline.
Quail eggs
Be sure to include them in your menu 1-2 times a week. They do not contain cholesterol, stimulate brain activity.
Chicken eggs are also good for the brain, but quail eggs contain 5 times more potassium and phosphorus, 4.5 times more iron, 6 times more vitamins E and B2, 1.7 times more vitamin A. Quail eggs are especially useful on an empty stomach in raw form. Unlike chicken, they are safe, since quails do not suffer from salmonellosis.

Nootropics and vitamins

WARNING: before using nootropics, be sure to consult a neurologist.

Medicines that improve brain function include drugs of the category of nootropics.

Nootropic plant origin is "Ginkgo Biloba" from the company "Evalar".
Nootropic of synthetic origin "Nootropil" (or "Piracetam").
Lecithin (Greek λέκιθος - egg yolk) - esters choline amino alcohol and diglyceride phosphoric acids; are the most important representatives of phospholipids.
Vitamin complex, including vitamin B5 (for example, "Bio-Max").

Definition nootropic drugs
The term "nootropics" was first proposed in 1972 by the author of the drug "piracetam" (K. Giurgea) to refer to agents that have a specific activating effect on the integrative functions of the brain, stimulate learning, improve memory and mental activity, increase the brain's resistance to aggressive influences, reinforcing cortico-subcortical connections. Recently, a slightly different content of this term has been proposed, providing that substances that activate the higher integrative activity of the brain, restore disturbed mnestic (i.e., memory-related) and mental functions, reduce neurological deficits and increase the body's resistance to extreme influences should be considered nootropic. .
Initially, nootropics were created to treat: Parkinson's disease on early stages, senile dementia, Alzheimer's disease, narcolepsy, depression, attention deficit disorder and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). Now, such drugs are becoming a 'lifestyle drug' - the same as, for example, Viagra. According to WHO statistics, a third of the adult population in Europe and Japan takes drugs of this group.

Nootropil

Pharmachologic effect:
Nootropic agent. It has a positive effect on the metabolic processes of the brain: it increases the concentration of ATP in the brain tissue, enhances the synthesis of RNA and phospholipids, stimulates glycolytic processes, and enhances the utilization of glucose. It improves the integrative activity of the brain, promotes the consolidation of memory, facilitates the learning process. It changes the rate of propagation of excitation in the brain, improves microcirculation without having a vasodilating effect, and inhibits the aggregation of activated platelets. Renders protective action with brain damage caused by hypoxia, intoxication, electric shock; enhances alpha and beta activity, reduces delta activity on the EEG, reduces the severity of vestibular nystagmus. Improves connections between the hemispheres of the brain and synaptic conduction in neocortical structures, increases mental performance, improves cerebral blood flow. The effect develops gradually. It practically does not have a sedative and psychostimulating effect.

Indications:
Neurology: vascular diseases of the brain, chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency (impaired memory, attention, speech, dizziness, headache); residual effects of cerebral circulation disorders (according to the ischemic type); comatose and subcomatose states (including after injuries and intoxications of the brain); convalescence (to increase motor and mental activity); diseases of the nervous system, accompanied by a decrease in intellectual-mnestic functions and disorders of the emotional-volitional sphere (including Alzheimer's disease). Psychiatry: neurotic syndrome, asthenodepressive syndrome ( various genesis, with a predominance in the clinical picture of adynamia, asthenic and senesto-hypochondriac disorders, ideational retardation); sluggish defective states (schizophrenia, psychoorganic syndrome); complex therapy: mental illness flowing on "organically defective soil"; depressive states resistant to antidepressants; poor tolerance of antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics), to eliminate or prevent the somatovegetative, neurological and mental complications caused by them; cortical myoclonus. Narcology: withdrawal alcohol syndrome, pre- and delirious states, morphine withdrawal syndrome, acute poisoning with ethanol, morphine, barbiturates, phenamine; chronic alcoholism(with phenomena of persistent disorders of mental activity, asthenia, intellectual-mnestic disorders). sickle cell anemia(as part of combination therapy). AT pediatric practice: if necessary, accelerate the learning process and eliminate the consequences of perinatal brain damage caused intrauterine infections, hypoxia, birth trauma, with oligophrenia, mental retardation, cerebral palsy.

Memory problems are important symptom lack of blood supply to the brain. This occurs with hypertension, atherosclerosis, heart disease, stroke. Memory deteriorates with head injuries, if the brain is damaged. Therefore, it is so important not to ignore bruises, bumps, but to check with a doctor.

Stress, nervous overload, chronic fatigue are also harmful. During sleep, the brain sorts and remembers the information received during the day. If he does not have enough time for this, some of this information is lost.

Memory is affected by alcohol abuse. Gradually, memory begins to deteriorate more and more, mental processes slow down and the speed of information perception decreases.

The cause of memory impairment may be a deficiency of vitamins C, E, B6, B12, folic and nicotinic amino acids. Memory impairment may be the first sign of thyroid disease associated with a lack of production of its hormones (hypothyroidism).

Serious memory impairment occurs with age-related diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia.

How to improve brain function and develop memory?

Products that improve memory and brain function

The brain needs a balanced diet that contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats, everything essential vitamins and trace elements, as well as other biologically active substances.

Here is a list of foods that can improve memory performance. They are considered especially healing for the brain.

  1. Eggplants, or rather their peel, contain anthocyanin, a powerful antioxidant. It prevents the development of atherosclerosis and protects nerve cells from damage.
  2. Grapes contain epicatechin, a polyphenol that increases blood flow to the brain and improves memory.
  3. Walnuts contain lecithin, which improves brain function and activates memory.
  4. Green peas are the best source of thiamine (vitamin B1), without which attention, memory, and mood deteriorate.
  5. Red cabbage is a source of polyphenols - antioxidants that help prevent Alzheimer's disease.
  6. Cranberries are rich in antioxidants that reduce the negative effects of stroke on the brain.
  7. Dried apricots contain iron, vitamin C, a lot of potassium necessary for normal operation vessels.
  8. Carrots contain beta-carotene, which slows down the aging process in the brain and prevents cell destruction caused by the action of free radicals.
  9. Seaweed is a champion in iodine content. The disadvantage of this chemical element loosens the nervous system and is fraught with insomnia, irritability, depression and memory impairment.
  10. Beets are rich in betaine, a substance that improves mood, well-being, reaction and ability to concentrate.
  11. Pumpkin seeds are a source of healthy fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6), vitamins A and E, and zinc.
  12. Blueberries reduce the risk of brain deterioration due to aging.
  13. Sage strengthens the nervous system and memory thanks to the perfect combination of biologically active substances.

Forgetfulness or dementia?

Dementia is a serious disorder of the nervous system in which there are irreversible changes in the brain. Memory suffers greatly, behavior changes - depression, apathy, sudden mood swings.

This is a disease, not an age characteristic, and it does not occur so often. Mild forgetfulness and absent-mindedness may increase with age, but do not always turn into dementia. According to an American psychiatrist, one can distinguish absent-mindedness and dementia by the first signs: “if you forgot where you put the keys, it’s not scary, but if you forgot what to do with the keys, what they are for, this is already a problem.

The main reasons for the development of this disease:

  • Serious circulatory disorders;
  • malignant tumors;
  • infections;
  • Deterioration of metabolism.

The changes that occur in the body with dementia are serious, but this does not mean that it should not be treated. Self-medication in this case is ineffective, but medicine has the means to maintain the mental abilities of a person and slow the progression of the disease. Drugs are prescribed to improve connections between neurons and stimulate blood circulation in the brain. Constant monitoring is essential blood pressure, reducing mental and physical stress, providing nutrition with foods rich in natural antioxidants. In the case of behavioral disorders, antidepressants and antipsychotics are used.

Herbs that improve memory and brain function

Medicinal herbs alone will not make your memory stronger, it needs to be trained. But they stimulate the activity of the brain, have a beneficial effect on the metabolism in nerve cells, and improve cerebral circulation.

  1. 1 st. l. Divide calamus rhizome powder into 3 parts and take 30-40 minutes before meals with hot water or tea. Take calamus for 6 weeks with a break of 7 days after 4 weeks.
  2. Take in equal parts lemon balm, initial letter, hawthorn flowers, herb Veronica officinalis, strawberry leaf. 1 st. l. mixture pour a glass of boiling water. Insist 20 minutes. Strain and drink like tea with honey or sugar.
  3. Mix 3 parts clover herb with flowers, 3 parts fireweed herb with flowers, 2 parts birch leaves and 1 part St. John's wort herb. 1 st. l. mixture, pour 300 ml of boiling water and leave for 20 minutes. Strain and drink instead of tea, adding a teaspoon of honey.
  4. Smell marjoram herb several times a day, or mix marjoram in equal amounts with lemon balm herb. 1 dec. l. brew the mixture with a glass of boiling water. Drink 1/3 or ½ cup twice a day.

How to improve memory performance with bee products?

Honey contains almost all the minerals and vitamins necessary for the normal functioning of blood vessels and the brain. Honey is rich in natural sugars - glucose, fructose, dextrose, which serve as an excellent source of nutrition for brain cells. The active substances contained in it improve the tone of the walls blood vessels, relieve their spasm, normalize blood composition.

A tablespoon of any natural honey per day is enough, washed down with warm water. But we must remember that when heated, honey loses a significant part of its beneficial properties.

A nutrient mixture with honey is very useful for the brain:

  • Aloe juice - 100 ml;
  • Honey - 300 g;
  • Walnuts - 500;
  • Lemon with zest.

Grind everything thoroughly, mix and take a tablespoon three times a day half an hour before meals. Store the mixture in glass jar and stir before use.

Be sure to use flower pollen. It has a lot of routine - a substance that strengthens the walls of blood vessels and prevents heart attacks and strokes. Mix it with honey in a ratio of 1: 2 and eat 1 dess. for 2 months. l. per day, dissolving in the mouth, half an hour before meals. After that, do not drink anything for at least 20 minutes.

Don't forget about this healing product beekeeping like perga ( bee bread). This is a unique store of vitamins and minerals.

Simple soothing massage

What can you do if you are stressed and can't calm down?

Perform the following exercise: lightly press the tongue against the upper palate and, holding it in this position, count to 5. Repeat several times. Then feel the jaw joints (near the earlobes) with your fingertips. Gently press them, open your mouth and, counting to 30, move your chin up and down and from side to side. After that, open your mouth wide, try to goggle your eyes and stick out your tongue as far as possible. Remaining in this position, count to 12.

If you're at home, start doing some chores that require your attention, like doing laundry, tidying up your wardrobe. Or go for a walk, for about 2 hours. Walk briskly, but do not completely immerse yourself in yourself, but pay attention to everything that you pass by. You can, for example, count people who wear certain colors of clothing, or cars of certain models.

Accept cold and hot shower. Pour over first with warm water, and then with cold, and repeat such transitions several times. Imagine how jets of water wash away all negative emotions from you.

Try to memorize a simple soothing self-massage according to the tai chi system.

Shake your hands and rub them together - they should be warm. Then stretch your whole body and shake, as a dog shakes water from his coat after bathing.

With your fingertips, massage your scalp in a circular motion from your temples, forehead, and neck to the top of your head. Next, go over the head with tapping movements of the fingers, as on a typewriter. Finally, stroke until warm and relaxed.

With light movements, massage the forehead from the center to the temples. With almost imperceptible tapping movements, go through the eyelids.

Rub it with your hands auricles. Then grab with a pad thumb and edge index finger a small area of the ear shell and massage it thoroughly in a circular motion.

Thoroughly knead the entire surface of both soles with your thumbs.

Exercises to improve memory and brain function

There are many different exercises that improve memory and brain function. I offer some of them.

  1. After you wake up, without getting out of bed, say out loud all the letters of the alphabet in turn, coming up with a word for each letter. If you think for more than 15 seconds, move on by skipping this letter. Try the same in reverse order from Z to A. Do the same with numbers from 1 to 100. If you have ever learned a foreign language, remember the alphabet and the score on it.
  2. If you have playing cards or any other cards with pictures or letters, lay them face down on the table. To start, 2 rows of 4 cards each. Quickly turn over, look at them for 10 seconds and return to the starting position again. Now, before turning the card over, name what was depicted on it. Gradually complicate the task by laying out more rows.
  3. When solving crosswords and scanwords, do not peep into the answers or a special reference book, but try to strive to enter as many words as possible into the cells, relying only on memory. After all, you probably know a lot, but just forgot.

Remember numbers and numbers.

Numbers are not easy to remember. Meanwhile, it is necessary to keep at least the most important numbers in mind. For example, banks do not recommend writing down card PIN codes and storing them next to them so that fraudsters do not have the opportunity to use your account.

One of the most effective ways to memorize numbers is the association method. Assign each number a specific letter. The most convenient way to do this is by the serial number of the letter in the alphabet (1-A, 2-B, etc.). And then you can build a phrase that will somehow be associated with the number and at the same time be easy to remember. For example, the phone number of your friend Boris is 235-45-39. Try to make a sentence related to some memories for you. For example: "Boris in the village painted a huge house green." Such an offer will work if your friend really has big house in the village, painted in green color.

Another way is to create an association with some memorable dates for you. Let's say your PIN is 9025. 90 is the year your child was born, 25 is the age when you got married or went to college.

Write the number you need several times in a row and it will be deposited in your memory. Even if you forget it, just take a piece of paper and a pen - most likely, mechanical memory will tell you the numbers.

How to improve visual memory?

Visual memory may deteriorate with age. To develop it, you need to regularly perform simple exercises.

  1. Put any picture in front of you. Look at it for 10 seconds, trying to remember as many details as possible. After that, turn the picture over, close your eyes and try to mentally reproduce what you saw. Look at the image again and check how accurate you remember everything. Do it every day.
  2. Try to draw from memory the exact plan of your summer cottage - the relative position of the beds, greenhouses, water barrels. Step out onto the porch and take a closer look at the site. Have you noted everything? Practice like this with the plan of the apartment, the shops that you constantly go to.

Eye vitamins.

Our eyes are the most complex organ where dozens of chemical reactions take place every second. This requires vitamins, and some of them are important for the eyes.

Vitamin A (retinol) is part of the visual pigment of the rods of the retina - rhodopsin, and the visual pigment of the cones - iodopsin. With its deficiency, vision in the dark worsens ("night blindness").

AT pure form in herbal products vitamin A is not included. But apricots, almonds, carrots, spinach, eggplant, asparagus, beets, cherries, green onion, red peppers, black currants, peaches, tangerines, melons are rich in carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. Fat is required for normal absorption of carotene, so fill vegetable salads vegetable oil, yogurt or sour cream.

Vitamin A is found exclusively in animal products such as butter, egg yolk, liver.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is involved in many of the most important reactions associated with redox processes, promotes tissue repair and healing. It protects the lens from free radicals. The most affordable and rich in ascorbic products are dry rose hips, sauerkraut, sweet pepper, strawberry, currant, citrus, nettle. When heated, most of the vitamin is lost.

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is involved in almost all chemical reactions occurring in the tissues of the eye. This vitamin is not produced by the body, so it must be supplied with food. Eat nuts, seeds, bran, beans.

Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is important for blood circulation and good functioning of the optic nerves. Vitamin B12 enters the human body only with food of animal origin and brewer's yeast. If you stick vegetarian diet, you need to take multivitamin complexes with vitamin B12.

Vitamin E (tocopherol acetate) is a natural antioxidant. The most rich in tocopherols are vegetable oils, especially corn and cottonseed, as well as oil obtained from wheat germ. But animal products are not rich in them.

There are a lot of different gymnastics for the eyes. With farsightedness, for example, the following exercise is recommended.

Pick up two pencils of different colors, for example, red and yellow. Hold the red pencil vertically at a distance of 10 cm from the nose, and the yellow one at arm's length. Place the hand in which you are holding the yellow pencil on a table or pillow. After that, you should make such movements as if you were running the tip of your nose along the edges of a yellow pencil, going up and down. Do this exercise 3-4 times. Then do the same with a red pencil several times in a row. Do this exercise for a short time and stop after the illusion of doubling each pencil appears.

Indian yogis advise looking at the sun at sunrise and sunset. They are sure that this is a good tool in the fight against visual impairment. It is also very useful for resting the eyes to look at the horizon line and at green meadows, forests, blue skies, clouds, water.

Protection against cataracts and glaucoma

Glaucoma is one of the most dangerous age-related eye diseases. In order to notice it in time, every person after 40-45 years old needs to regularly check their intraocular pressure with a doctor.

In the early stages, the disease does not manifest itself in any way, and when the first symptoms appear (lacrimation, pain in the eyes and head, decreased vision), it is much more difficult to stop glaucoma.

To treat this disease, drops are prescribed to reduce intraocular pressure, diuretics and other drugs. In severe cases, surgical treatment is used to improve the flow of fluid from the eye.

Remember folk remedies for glaucoma can not help! If you have been diagnosed with this disease, then be sure to follow the treatment prescribed by the doctor.

What can be done to make the treatment successful?

  1. Follow the routine. Regular sleep (7-8 hours), walks on fresh air, dairy-vegetarian diet.
  2. Do not drink coffee, alcoholic beverages; limit fluid intake to 4-5 glasses per day.
  3. Eat diuretic foods. These are watermelons, birch sap, parsley, currants, grapes, strawberries, dill, rose hips, pumpkin, horseradish, cabbage, radish, mountain ash.
  4. Hard work, work at an angle and at night is contraindicated.
  5. Do not wear tight collars and belts - this causes an increase in intraocular pressure.
  6. Reduces increased intraocular pressure green color of meadows and forests - let's rest our eyes, leaving the city.
  7. On sunny days, green sunglasses should be worn.

Cataract is a severe disease that can lead to complete loss of vision. It is associated with irreversible metabolic processes in the lens of the eye, which lead to its clouding. The most important thing is to detect cataracts as early as possible. You can check the transparency of the lens yourself.

Cut out a piece of black paper measuring 3x3 cm and make a hole in its center with a needle. After that, bring homemade glasses close to your eye and look at the white piece of paper. If the sheet is white all over, then your lens is transparent. If the sheet appears dark spots, then these are signs of clouding of the lens, and you need to contact an ophthalmologist.

In the early stages of cataracts, medications, normalizing metabolic processes in the lens. It is necessary to use such funds regularly and constantly, exactly follow the treatment prescribed by the doctor.

None of the herbal medicines folk remedy cataract cannot be cured. They can slow down the process, but they cannot get rid of turbidity.

Self-treatment is dangerous, you can drag out time, destructive processes will progress and vision will fall.

Most effective method The current treatment is an operation to replace the lens. There is no need to be afraid of it - the technology has been worked out to the smallest detail, side effects are extremely rare. Techniques are used that minimize eye injury - ultrasound, laser.

Proper rest for the eyes to improve memory performance

An American ophthalmologist has developed a palming technique that allows the eyes to quickly rest. There is nothing complicated in it, it does not require special devices, only your hands are needed.

Take a comfortable position for you, no matter sitting, lying, standing. The main thing is to keep the body relaxed. Straighten the fingers of one hand and place your palm on your face. Place the little finger of the other hand across the base of the four outstretched fingers of the hand lying on the face. In this case, both hands are crossed in the form of an inverted tick, like the letter "A" without the middle crossbar. The intersection of the bases of the little fingers forms something like the bow of the glasses, which should be located on the bridge of the nose. The middle of the palms should be above the orbits of the eyes. The eyelids are closed. Do not strain your fingers, relax your wrists and elbows. Your palms should not press on your eyes!

Each person places his palms on his face in a special way. Don't try to follow the instructions exactly. It is better to choose the most acceptable and comfortable position for you. For example, sit in front of a table with your elbows resting on it.

There are no strict time limits. Usually one minute or even less is enough for the eyes to completely relax. Due to this, nerve cells are activated, tension is removed from those muscles that pull the eyes in one direction or another, disrupting their synchronous work.

Palming should be done regularly, in small portions. It will not restore your vision if you are severely nearsighted or farsighted. But in the initial stages, vision can be improved, and in other cases progression can be stopped.

Conclusion: you can improve memory performance by regularly performing memorization exercises, try it and you will definitely succeed.

The modern world places high demands on the person living in it, associated with mental activity, and sometimes it is necessary to perform several tasks at the same time in various areas knowledge. Without additional "feeding" of brain cells, right image life, maintaining the body in normal physical shape and good food it's impossible. Therefore, recommendations on how to improve brain function and memory different ways will be of interest to all readers.

brain cells and memory

Over the years, as age increases, not only the human body, but also his brain ages, mental abilities deteriorate, neural connections in the cells, and the gray matter gradually decreases in volume, there is a decrease in his cognitive abilities (thinking, understanding, susceptibility to learning, reasoning and logical conclusions). Violation of attention and memory impairment are the first signs of a decrease in mental abilities in a person, which often appear with age.

Reasons for the deterioration of memory and brain function:

  • injuries and lesions after operations, previous diseases (stroke, concussion, etc.);
  • some internal diseases: infectious, kidney disease, etc.;
  • age-related changes in the body;
  • alcohol consumption, drugs, antidepressants, smoking;
  • wrong way of life: stress, lack of sleep, overload at work.

Methods for improving intellectual abilities and memory

To slow down these negative processes, scientists recommend trying to keep the body and brain healthy with the following rules:

  • maintaining good physical activity, regular exercise;
  • diet and normal weight, the use of products that improve brain function;
  • control of cholesterol and blood glucose levels;
  • smoking cessation and others bad habits;
  • maintaining a normal level of blood pressure;
  • if necessary, you can learn how to improve brain function in consultation with a specialist who will prescribe the necessary drug.

Nootropic substances

Nootropics - substances and means that stimulate positive impact on human brain tissue, increase its performance, improve memory, help and facilitate the process of memorization and learning, stimulate cognitive functions. They also increase the "clarity" of the mind in any, even extreme conditions. They are based on organic ingredients. Modern pharmaceutical industry produces on their basis drugs and pills that improve brain function.

10 substances that improve memory and intellectual performance:

  • Flavonols - activate the production of the hormone endorphin in the body, adding a feeling of joy and happiness. They stimulate transmission nerve impulses in brain cells, adding vigor and activity. Such substances contain dark chocolate.
  • Lecithin is one of the components of body cells, a phospholipid involved in the production of enzymes and hormones; together with vitamin B5, it turns into acetylcholine, which accelerates the course of nervous processes and reactions (neurotransmitter); found in eggs, beef and chicken liver, fatty fish varieties, legumes, nuts and seeds.
  • Caffeine - found in coffee and green tea, its intake helps to focus, increase productivity and stimulate the brain, but after a while there is a decline in brain activity.
  • L-theanine is an amino acid (found in green tea) that helps prolong brain activity and increase performance without subsequent decline.
  • Creatine is an organic nitrogenous acid produced by naturally during active physical activity, it helps to increase muscle growth and cellular reactions, save energy reserves of the brain, and improve analytical thinking.
  • Omega 3 fatty acid(contained in ocean fish, nuts, seeds) - improve memory, relieve depression and stress, protect against aging.
  • L-tyrosine - an amino acid that helps the production of adrenaline and the neurotransmitter dopamine, increases the fatigue threshold, concentration, has a positive effect on endocrine system.
  • B vitamins - help restore nerve cells and improve brain function.
  • Acetyl-L-carnitine is an amino acid that relieves chronic fatigue, improves memory and brain cell processes, maintains balance and carbohydrate metabolism, affects sexual ability.
  • "Ginkgo Biloba" - the most powerful nootropic drug, named after the tree of the same name, its leaves contain glycosides, flavonoids and terpenes, which together stimulate brain activity, improve memory and emotional stability.

Products that regulate the activity of brain cells

Lifestyle and nutrition are the main factors influencing human mental activity. Scientific research showed that there are a number of products that improve memory and brain function.

These include:

  • Fatty fish (sardines, salmon, trout, etc.) have a positive effect on mental abilities due to the presence of omega-3 fatty acids; consuming fatty acids, a person supplies them for the reproduction of brain nerve cells (which itself consists of 60% of fats), and also slows down the aging process and even prevents the occurrence of Alzheimer's disease.

  • Black coffee adds the necessary substances to the human body: caffeine and antioxidants that block the work of adenosine (which prevents drowsiness and improves a positive perception of reality), stimulates the production of serotonin to improve mood and helps increase concentration for mental work.
  • Dark chocolate (containing at least 80% cocoa) includes beneficial substances to improve brain function: flavonoids, caffeine and antioxidants that improve memory and help slow down age-related changes in brain cells, improve mood.
  • Nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds) - contain useful vitamins B and E, trace elements (magnesium) and antioxidants, daily rate consumption is up to 100 g.
  • Blueberries are berries that not only have a positive effect on visual acuity, but also on brain function, and also relieve depression due to the content of anthocyanins, antioxidant substances that strengthen blood vessels and reduce their fragility, improve communication between brain cells and memory.
  • Oranges and lemons are a source of vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant that protects the brain from free radicals.
  • Broccoli - contains fat-soluble vitamin K (necessary for the formation of fats in brain cells and improves memory) and antioxidants that help overcome diseases associated with brain damage.
  • Pumpkin seeds as a source of magnesium, zinc, iron and copper, which affect the nervous system, learning and human memory.
  • Chicken eggs are a source of many useful substances(folic acid, choline, vitamins B6 and B12).

The effect of physical activity on the brain

Even a simple evening walk in the fresh air has a beneficial effect on brain health. Maintaining high physical activity, performing exercises with a certain load, playing sports is one of the ways to improve brain function. It helps to improve intellectual abilities at any age, and in older people to cope with minor cognitive impairments.

mediterranean diet

According to many scientists, it is mediterranean diet contains an optimal diet rich in healthy vegetables and fruits, legumes and whole grains, as well as nuts and olive oil, which have a positive effect and provide long-term protection for the brain.

The diet also includes a small amount of dairy products, sea fish and various wines. The restriction is imposed on the consumption of red meats, poultry and prepared processed foods.

Thinking training

One of effective means that improve memory and brain function is the daily training of mental abilities. These methods include: solving crossword puzzles and sudoku, learning a new foreign language. The latter, according to the conclusion of Finnish scientists from the University of Helsinki, helps to improve cognitive abilities even in older people, giving “sharpness” to the mind and contributing to its elasticity.

How more people knows foreign languages, the faster the reaction in the neural network of the brain to the accumulation of new information occurs. Therefore, both children and adults are encouraged to engage in the study of new languages to prevent a decrease in cognitive abilities as the body ages.

Learning to play a musical instrument, regardless of the age of the student, also has a positive effect on memory and brain cells. Sound reproduction has a protective effect by changing brain waves and improving hearing.

Medicines-nootropics

The functioning of the human brain and memory is often affected by external environment, so many people feel that they need treatment and turn to specialists with a request to tell which drugs improve memory and brain function. All such medicines and tablets can be taken only as prescribed by a doctor.

However, in emergency cases(thesis defense, session, passing exams, etc.) taking such drugs on their own helps for a short time concentrate and improve brain activity.

What drugs improve brain function and are sold without a prescription:

  • "Glycine" - a popular inexpensive remedy, "vitamins for the head", which regulates sleep, mental activity and improves mood, it must be taken in a course of at least 30 days.
  • "Bilobil" - helps patients overcome anxiety, normalize sleep, activate mental abilities by improving microcirculation and providing brain cells with oxygen (do not prescribe to children under 18 years of age).

  • "Intellan" - capsules containing plant extracts, improve intellectual abilities, memory, reduce depression.

Prescription drugs

Pills that improve memory and brain function, which are taken by prescription:

  • "Piracetam", "Nootropil" - drugs that help students pass the session, are prescribed for memory and attention deterioration, for elderly patients - in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
  • "Cavinton" - is prescribed to improve brain metabolism, blood circulation in the vessels of the head in the treatment of the consequences of a stroke, etc.
  • "Encephabol" - used when reducing mental performance, helps to normalize metabolic processes in nervous tissues, is used in the treatment of atherosclerosis, childhood encephalopathy.
  • "Cerebrolysin" - is sold in ampoules and is prescribed for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, stroke, etc.
  • Phezam is a drug that helps improve metabolic processes and blood circulation in the brain, which helps to activate intellectual functions.

Rules for taking nootropic drugs

Before you start taking drugs that improve memory and brain function, you must always consult with a specialist doctor, and also take into account important rules:

  • the dose of the drug and the duration of the course of treatment are selected according to the age of the patient, the characteristics of his health and body, the presence of some concomitant diseases;
  • drugs for plant-based or dietary supplements are not always harmless and harmless to humans, allergic reactions may occur, the presence of contraindications and unexpected side effects;
  • to find out a positive or negative shift in the work of the brain and memory, it is necessary to regularly test, record your observations and perform a complex special exercises;
  • in order to choose the optimal pills that improve brain function, it is better to alternate their intake and observe the result of the effect on the body, this will help to identify the most suitable drug.

The development of mental abilities and memory in children

Medications and preparations are not always suitable for children, on the contrary, many of them are not recommended to be taken before the age of 18 due to possible negative consequences. Before making a decision on prescribing medications, it is better to consult a pediatrician and a neurologist.

This is due to the fact that a decrease in the concentration of attention and memory in children is the result of any diseases, and only a doctor after an examination can decide how to improve the child’s brain function: with the help of medicines, vitamins or changes in lifestyle and hobbies, appointments diet food and eating foods that help stimulate brain cells.

Folk recipes for improving memory

ethnoscience over the years, I have collected many recipes that have a positive effect on a person’s ability to memorize and improve concentration:

  • infusion of clover flowers - prepared from 2 tbsp. l. dried plants for 2 tbsp. hot water, everything is poured into a thermos for 2 hours, then strain and drink 100 g half an hour before meals, the duration of the course is 3 months;

  • eat young pine buds 2-3 pcs. twice a day before meals.

Conclusion

If problems with memory, dizziness, insomnia, depression or other symptoms appear, it is first necessary to clarify the source and cause of these negative processes by visiting a doctor and undergo a comprehensive examination. After receiving the results and recommendations of a specialist, it will be possible to start treatment and take drugs that improve brain function and memory.

Greetings, dear reader!
Let's talk in this article about how to improve brain function and what affects our thinking over time.

Our brain is more powerful than any computer. Scientists say that a person uses only 10% of the possibility of brain activity. But even these 10% are capable of much. Every day, billions of gray cells come into contact with each other, giving rise to energy of such strength that we are able to invent miracle machines, invent unprecedented things, create masterpieces, paint ingenious paintings, set world records in sports.

However, like any mechanism, our brain wears out and needs to be updated. If in youth the head was full of brilliant ideas about the reorganization of one's life and the transformation of the whole world, then by the age of 40, thinking narrows down to the size of its daily existence. Even if you start thinking about something, sound thoughts may not come. They flow sluggishly, like snails, get confused or even stop.

What happens to our thinking? What factors reduce energy brain processes? How to improve brain function and restore clarity of thought?

Let's go in order.

sleep deficit

During sleep, the brain is released from biochemical products of activity. Chronic sleep deprivation leads to the accumulation of harmful amyloid proteins, which are the cause of inhibition of brain activity. During the dark hours of sleep, the brain produces its main hormone - melatonin, which is responsible for the function of brain cells and immune system. The less sleep at night, the less beneficial hormone receives the body.

What to do? Sleep in a ventilated room for at least 7-8 hours. Go to bed no later than 22-23 hours. In this mode, the brain will rest faster and gain energy for next day. More recommendations on our website.

...

Passive lifestyle

Nothing takes away the vital energy of the brain like a sluggish inactive human life.

Movement is life. This phrase is most applicable to wake up the brain and make it work to its full potential. Intense physical activity increases blood circulation, saturates the brain with oxygen, makes it breathe. Oxygen contributes to the rapid interaction of gray cells, active movement thought processes. Neurons, like muscles, need constant training.

Multitasking

Modern activity in any field requires us to work in a nervous mode of multitasking. You are expected to solve many issues in a short time. Instead of doing one job well, you start solving all the tasks at the same time, you cannot concentrate, make a decision, outline a work plan.

What to do and how to improve brain function in such conditions?

The most important thing is to calm down. To do this, breathe deeply and calmly. Focus your thoughts on one task, do not rush randomly from one problem to another. Go to business without haste, gradually.

Bad habits

nicotine, alcohol, malnutrition take the vital energy of the brain and destroy the body as a whole. These factors slow down the flow of oxygen, nutrients and reduce energy processes in gray matter. Brain activity drops by 20-20%.

What to do?

Of course, show willpower and give up such addictions.

To restore brain function, regularly cleanse the vessels of the head. It is recommended every morning, before breakfast, to take this drink: a spoonful of soda and lemon juice in a glass warm water or drink herbal tea from St. John's wort, oregano, lime blossom, clover.

Food for brain

Not everything we eat is good for improving brain function. He has his own menu, certain products that increase productivity. And the brain is well washed with water. With its lack, the brain decreases in volume and literally becomes dull (by the way, we wrote about it here). Water is able to increase energy and helps to preserve memory and attention.

What to do? Drink at least 1.5 - 2 liters of clean water daily.

Include your favorite brain foods in your diet. How to improve brain function knows the polyunsaturated acid Omega-3, which saves from Alzheimer's disease. The source of this product is sea fish, olive oil, flax seeds.

Phenylalanine is necessary to obtain the hormone adrenaline, which ensures the speed of the reaction. It contains red meat, fish, poultry, cottage cheese, eggs.

Tryptophan prevents brain cells from aging, renews their structure. Do you want to think like you did when you were young? Then eat more bananas, nuts, red grapes. Don't let time take away the vital energy of the brain.

The amino acid lysine improves the speed of thought processes. To do this, include beans, cocoa, dark chocolate in your diet.

If you like cottage cheese, broccoli, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, yogurt, kefir, then your brain will thank you for the influx of vitamins and amino acids. This is so necessary for mental alertness, memory improvement, thinking skills.

Give up junk food, which takes away the vital energy of the brain! And on our website you can read about.

negative emotions

How they suppress, deprive the brain of the ability to control the situation, make it weak-willed. Powerful emotions block mental abilities, interfere with productive work.

What to do?. Relax, calm down, switch to your favorite activity. Try to turn your attention to positive moments, treat the negative as another life lesson that gives experience and improves brain function. Everything goes along with life. The brain needs communication and love. Make new acquaintances, enrich yourself with fresh positive information. Eliminate communication with whiners, surround yourself with smart interlocutors. Hug your family and loved ones, tell them good words enjoy their company.

Information overload

In our age of rapid development the latest technologies and an abundance of information, an avalanche of new knowledge is carried by a stream on a person. To keep up with the times, you have to learn a large amount of new knowledge. Television and the Internet are making their contribution. From here, information flows like a river that does not improve the functioning of the brain, but, on the contrary, slows down consciousness, zombifies.

What to do? How to improve brain function? Stop filling your brain with information that is not relevant to your life. Learn systematically. Watch less TV. Make time for a good book. Reading perfectly stimulates brain activity, improves vocabulary. The game of chess and poker develops the brain remarkably. Solve crosswords, solve puzzles. It is much more useful, it does not take the vital energy of the brain, but rather stimulates energy processes.

...

Chronic fatigue

Constant lack of sleep, haste, fuss, great responsibility accumulate over time and lead to disastrous results. Chronic fatigue and apathy for life - this is the diagnosis of most residents of megacities. In such a situation, the brain works at the peak of its capabilities, recovery processes are slowed down. As a result, there is a possibility of serious diseases.

What to do? Find an opportunity to improve brain function. Establish a work and rest schedule. Restore your health. Be more outdoors, engage in active sports, observe proper diet nutrition to improve the functioning of the brain and body.

Not enough sunlight

Sun exposure - the only way obtaining vitamin D by the brain. This vitamin is involved in the creation of new nerve cells in the head and the acceleration of metabolic processes in the cerebellum. This brain organ helps to make planned actions and create new memories (i.e., retain memory of recent events). In older people, the required amount of vitamin D is stored for many years mental health. sunlight significantly improves brain function and energizes the whole person.

What to do? Make sun exposure a daily routine sunbathing in summer time.

Treat brain health as a great value. Avoid negative influences good habits, be calm, let the gray cells work, do not let your brain atrophy. Then the brightness of thought, tenacious memory, quick thinking for a long time will allow you to be in the ranks of smart, interesting people. I p before you will no longer stand hot topic: "How to improve brain function?"

We wish you energetic longevity, health and a clear mind!

Memory is part of the psyche and daily human activities. Without memory, it is impossible to learn how to walk, write, and even more so, to learn new things. Memory impairment can lead to problems of a different nature, both in a normal home environment and in achieving career heights. The reason for forgetfulness is not pathology, but rather inattention, distraction and disinterest in the object of memorization.

Medicines to improve this type of psyche are not invented. But it is quite possible to train her.

What affects the development and improvement of memory

The mechanisms that affect the development of memory are not yet fully understood. But it is already known that they depend on:

  • natural inclinations
  • memory states
  • memory training

Scientists believe that the human brain is influenced by everything around. Significant factors are:
Thyroid. A decrease in thyroid hormones entails a weakening of attention and a decrease in memory. Sufficient intake of zinc, iodine and vitamin B2 replenishes the necessary hormones.

  • Dream. A substance that contributes to the restoration of memory is produced at night. Healthy full sleep promotes the restoration of brain cells.
  • Sport. Physical activity, even minor, supplies the body with oxygen, which is necessary for the normal functioning of memory.
  • Health. Memory and health are inextricably linked. For example, during menopause and serious gynecological diseases, memory is reduced.
  • Food. Proper nutrition implies a sufficient amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Deficiency of these substances impedes the functioning of memory.
  • Good fantasy. When fantasizing and various associations, the brain receives additional impulses for the development of thinking and memorization.
  • Needlework. The activation of brain activity occurs due to the motor skills of the hands.

by the most important points for the development and improvement of attention and memory are good mood, enthusiasm, motivation, interest.

Ways to quickly improve the memory of an adult and a child

Not only in childhood, but also in adulthood, it is necessary to constantly engage in the development of one's memory. You can cope with this task on your own, without resorting to the help of psychologists and specialists from the medical field. An adult can motivate himself to work on improving the quality of the brain, but the child needs help, a push from a parent or teacher.

Products that improve memory and brain function

Needs to be reviewed daily ration. It should include foods that help activate brain activity. These include:

  • Nuts, eggs, sea fish - rich in vitamins, take first place in quality food brain cells.
  • Forest berries: blueberries, cranberries. Antioxidants in the composition of berries activate visual memory, attention, help to acquire visual acuity.
  • Carrot slows down the aging process of cells, including the brain responsible for memory.
  • Sage, which has an oily composition, affects the improvement of memory processes.
  • Bitter chocolate - restores strength, helps to start all the work of the brain.

Logic tasks and games that develop memory and attention

Regular light exercise is essential for a good memory. For the development of photographic memory, there are simple exercises:

  1. Learning poetry or prose best nutrition brain and memory. It is necessary to teach not thoughtlessly, but with reasoning over the meaning of a work or verse.
  2. Search for the connection of objects with those processes that have long been familiar. For example, the well-known rhyme "every-hunter-wants-to-know-where-a-pheasant-sits." That is, to come up with an association for a particular subject and case.
  3. You can focus on a specific subject. Close your eyes and imagine it in all, even the smallest details.
  4. Put several objects on the table, look at them for 10 seconds, turn away and describe them in detail.
  5. It perfectly trains brain activity by solving crossword puzzles and logical tasks.

Special exercises to strengthen memory

Memory can be strengthened not only by cramming school subjects, which by a certain age begin to be forgotten. There are other simple exercises to preserve memory:

  • Mental count from 1 to 100 and vice versa. It seems to be nothing complicated, but in combination with other exercises, the result is amazing.
  • Memorizing phone numbers, numbers on car numbers, the multiplication table are simple and effective brain simulators.
  • Names of words starting with the next letter of the alphabet: Orange, Tower, Wave, etc. to the last letter. Many people have difficulty doing this workout. A good result will be a delay over the word no more than 15 seconds.
  • Name male and female names for each letter of the alphabet in turn.
  • A huge dance to train your memory is to memorize colors in a foreign language. For example, first in English, then in German. For some, this seems impossible, but if you are not lazy, just remember, everything will work out.
  • To activate the brain cells, you can walk around the house with your eyes closed, performing the usual actions (take a shower, get dressed, lace up your shoes)

One of the main criteria for good memory performance is continuous sufficient night sleep. The brain, like the body, needs rest. It is not for nothing that many note that it is easier to work and think with a “fresh” head.

vitamins

  • IN 1- Acts as a memory aid cognitive processes. Found in peas, oatmeal, meat, buckwheat and nuts.
  • IN 2- fills the body with energy. Contained in yeast, cabbage, tomatoes.
  • AT 3- controls energy in nerve cells. Its stocks will be replenished with eggs, chicken meat, fish, buckwheat.
  • AT 5- is an active memory stimulator. Contained in dairy products, caviar, liver of animals and birds.

How can you improve your memory after 50 years?

How to improve memory when the age approaches the elderly? According to statistics, after 65 years, memory declines in half of the population. The reason for everything is the death of nerve cells and a decrease in brain mass. But mental activity that affects the cerebral blood supply can stop this process, and moreover, increase the mass of brain cells.

  • Food. low calorie diet can improve the memory of an elderly person by 20%, and sugar rejuvenates memory. The intake of glucose into the body enough helps the brain retain information.
  • Medicines. For better assimilation glucose, it is recommended to take nootropics, which, among other things, supply oxygen to brain cells.
  • Physical exercises. Daily walks, walking helps to saturate the blood with oxygen. Oxygen, getting into the brain, as it were, “refreshes the memory”, reduces the risk of strokes. In addition, an active lifestyle slows down the aging process of all cells of the human body, including brain cells.
  • Drawing. You don't need to have artistic skills. You can simply transfer the memorized picture to paper, not paying attention to the beauty of the image. The main thing is to transfer as many details as possible.

Without a good memory and logical thinking It's not easy to survive in today's world. Information Technology are developing very quickly. Children from an early age are loaded with newfangled gadgets, interactive toys. But adults, as the people say, "think hard." But by studying with your grandchildren, delving into their fancy toys, you can develop your brain better without resorting to exercises. Here are the books you need to read.
