What to do to hoarse voice. The procedure for helping with stenosis of the larynx of allergic origin

The hoarseness of the voice, which was the result of exposure to the vocal cords of various factors, becomes a test for patients, because in this state it is impossible to communicate and carry out certain types of work. In such a situation, there is a need to restore the voice and get rid of hoarseness as soon as possible.

This refers to the loss of voice in an adult. If the voice is hoarse, both pharmaceutical drugs and traditional medicine are used for treatment. But first, it is recommended to visit an ENT doctor to clarify the cause that caused the hoarseness of the voice, and in accordance with this, begin therapeutic measures.

You can get rid of hoarseness in your voice at home. First of all, it is necessary to establish a drinking regime and talk less, relieving the load from the vocal cords. Plentiful and warm drink is recommended. This measure will help soften the vocal cords and reduce the severity.

These recommendations are relevant for those who have lost their voice, but their throat does not hurt. If hoarseness was caused by exposure to pathogenic factors and respiratory tract infections, then with the help of heavy drinking, the patient's body will soon get rid of pathogenic pathogens and their metabolic products.

As a drink, in addition to pure water, suitable:

  • salt-free mineral water (Essentuki, Slavyanskaya, Narzan);
  • compotes;
  • black or green tea;
  • herbal decoctions based on sage or chamomile;
  • berry fruit drinks.

An excellent remedy for treating a hoarse voice is warm milk with the addition of honey. You can simply dissolve honey in your mouth. At the time of treatment, salty and spicy foods should be completely removed from the diet in order to avoid additional irritation of the inflamed vocal cords.

Food and drink should be warm. Too hot will have a bad effect on the inflamed mucosa.

Principles of treatment

When there is no voice, and the throat does not hurt, doctors do not recommend going out into the cold once again. The acceleration of recovery will be facilitated by maintaining an optimal microclimate in the room. Humidity should be at a normal level, and the temperature should be comfortable for a person.

It is known that dry air negatively affects the respiratory mucosa, drying it out. If you have a humidifier, be sure to use it for its intended purpose. In the absence of a special apparatus, carry out wet cleaning every day.

If you know exactly what is the cause of hoarseness, then by eliminating it, you can return the voice. Traditional medicine should be selected, taking into account the existing other accompanying symptoms. So, with an increase in body temperature, inhalation is prohibited. The same applies to warming up, compresses and rubbing. Warming ointments are also not used if the body temperature is above normal.

If the diseases accompanied by hoarseness were not caused by exposure to pathogenic bacteria, then taking antibacterial drugs will not only not help restore the voice, but will also delay and worsen the recovery process.

Preparations of this action are used when the cause was the effect of pathogenic microorganisms, for example, streptococcus or staphylococcus aureus. The expediency of their appointment is also determined when viral pathologies are complicated by a bacterial infection.

What medicines will help get rid of hoarseness?

Hoarseness is only a symptom of a certain disease, and you can get rid of hoarseness in your voice only after treating the root cause. For this apply:

  • lozenges;
  • anti-inflammatory sprays;
  • expectorants;
  • antihistamines.

A hoarse voice can be treated in case of a cold or strain of the ligaments with the help of special tablets for the throat, they can be in the form of dragees or lozenges for sucking. They help soothe the throat. The most popular voice-restoring drugs are Strepsils, Faringosept, Falimint, Antiangin, Septolete.

In the pharmacy you can buy similar medicines with any taste - honey, lemon, menthol, orange, mint. The active ingredients of these medicines will help to quickly cure a sore throat and return the voice. The use of anti-inflammatory drugs in the form of a spray will allow the drug to penetrate directly into the problematic area of \u200b\u200bthe throat and directly have a therapeutic effect.

Often they are used for angina and laryngitis. As such apply:

  • Strepsils;
  • Tantum Verde;
  • Chlorophyllipt;
  • Theraflu Lar;
  • Ingalipt;
  • Cameton;
  • Aquamaris;
  • Miramistin.

Each of these drugs has some kind of therapeutic effect: it reduces pain and eliminates perspiration, moisturizes, destroys pathogenic bacteria, and softens the vocal cords. It often happens that diseases with an obsessive dry cough are accompanied by a hoarse voice. This symptom is manifested by laryngitis and with this disease you can quickly hoarse.

Most often, with a hoarse voice, they are treated with absorbable throat tablets.

This is due to the fact that with a strong cough, the vocal cords, which are involved in the formation of voice, tense up. Treatment to relieve coughing will help restore a hoarse voice. For these purposes, mucolytic agents are used, they dilute thick sputum.

Such treatment must be accompanied by a plentiful drink. Medicines in the form of a syrup help soften the vocal cords. For the treatment of cough symptoms are used:

  • Pertussin;
  • Bromhexine;
  • Codelac;
  • Acetylcysteine;
  • Amtersol.

The voice can be hoarse not only because of a cold, but also as a result of the influence of an allergic agent. He, acting on the larynx, leads to loss of voice. In this case, the patient should treat the throat with antihistamines. So, in case of violation of the functioning of the voice apparatus, the following can be used:

  • Zyrtec;
  • Loratadine;
  • Cetrin;
  • Zodak;
  • Claritin.

These are new generation antihistamines that do not cause drowsiness. They act on mediators, reducing inflammation and swelling of the mucous membrane of the pharynx and larynx. You can restore your voice faster if you combine these drugs with anti-inflammatory drugs.

When the patient does not know how to quickly restore a hoarse voice, in addition to the medicines prescribed by the doctor, you can connect proven recipes of traditional medicine. The voice recovers faster with frequent use of warm milk with honey and butter. Such a drink will effectively soften tense vocal cords.

Inhalations and rinses

Traditional procedures such as rinsing and inhalation will be an option for those patients who do not know what to do at home in order to regain their voice. But they are carried out only when the body temperature is normal.

Doctors recommend inhalation using a special device - a nebulizer. Medicines passing through it do not heat up and do not irritate the inflamed and swollen mucous membranes. In the absence of such a device, it is not worth refusing inhalation, the procedure can be carried out using a kettle or pan.

Gargling - an effective remedy for restoring a shrunken voice

  • mucous membranes are moistened;
  • liquefies and removes mucus from the larynx;
  • the condition of the vocal cords improves;
  • the severity of cough decreases.

There are many products that are suitable for a normal inhalation procedure without a nebulizer. A hoarse voice can be treated with herbal infusions. Eucalyptus, sage, chamomile, wild rosemary are just some of the plants used for steam inhalation. If there is no allergy, then herbal infusions can be replaced with essential oils of the same plants.

Gargling has an excellent healing effect against a dead voice. It helps to eliminate swelling of the larynx and restore the voice. Such procedures must be repeated at least 5-6 times a day. For these purposes, special anti-inflammatory and antiseptic solutions are used (Stopangin, Tantum Verde, Rotokan Geksoral, Miramistin).

Antiseptic and antimicrobial solution can be prepared independently. This will require a tablet of Furacilin and 100 ml of cooled boiled water. The medicine is dissolved in a liquid, filtered through a fine sieve or gauze and the solution is ready for use.

Hoarseness of voice is a pathological condition, expressed in dysfunction of the vocal cords. It is characterized by changes in the timbre of the voice, when wheezing, whistling are heard during a conversation, the usual sonority of pronunciation is disturbed.

This condition often occurs when the vocal cords are overstressed. After a long loud conversation, singing, shouting, etc.

The reasons may be different. We list briefly the most common of them:

Inflammatory diseases of the larynx.

A viral infection that affects the nasal, oral cavity, as well as the larynx and trachea.

Consequences of angina. Most often, this is characteristic of patients with chronic forms of ENT diseases.

Allergic reactions of the body.

Regular strain of ligaments. Often found in people of certain professions: teachers, singers, actors, speakers.

The factors provoking pathology include: inhalation of harmful fumes, polluted, dusty air. In addition, hoarseness may indicate the presence of some other serious ailments.

The doctor will help to carry out the correct diagnosis, determine the cause of the pathological condition, and prescribe an adequate one. A hoarse voice in an adult can occur for various reasons, so the treatment of this pathology also differs.

For example, if the cause is acute laryngitis, in addition to the main treatment, the doctor will recommend using sprays: emollients with menthol or sage.

In the treatment, in fact, of hoarseness, rinsing with a solution is used. The drug "" gives a good effect. It is useful to gargle, calendula, with a solution (1 tsp per glass of water).

You need to follow a certain diet: eat slightly warm food, avoiding very hot or cold. Hot drinks, spicy, sour, bitter, very salty foods that irritate the throat are strictly contraindicated. It is useful to increase the consumption of clean water, in particular mineral water without gas.

It must be remembered that if an acute inflammatory process of the throat is diagnosed, warming procedures cannot be used: steam inhalations, local heat. They can only increase inflammation. Under the influence of heat, the infection penetrates deeper into the body, spreads with the bloodstream to healthy internal organs and tissues, worsening the patient's condition.

If the cause of the hoarse voice is an allergic reaction of the body, treatment is carried out using antihistamines. In any case, for any negative manifestations, changes in the pharynx, loss of voice, you should seek medical help.

After consulting with your doctor, you can supplement the treatment with folk remedies. This will enhance the effect of the main therapy, speed up the healing process. Here are some proven popular folk recipes:

For laryngitis, prepare an infusion: chop a handful of dried, pour into a thermos. Pour half a liter of boiling water. After an hour, pour into a clean bowl through a fine strainer. Drink half a glass several times a day.

Get rid of hoarseness caused by a cold will help. Wash it well, dry it. Cut off the top, but don't throw it away.

Using a knife, a metal spoon, remove a little pulp from the middle (up to half the fruit). Fill in the recess. Cover with the cut top, leave until the juice appears. Take 1 tsp. as fluid accumulates.

Patients often turn to ENT doctors with a complaint - a hoarse voice. At the same time, pain, fever and general malaise may be absent, and the symptomatology is reduced only to a violation of the timbre and the inability to talk normally.

The condition can occur against the background of a cold, or after it, or it can develop arbitrarily, for no apparent reason.

Hoarseness of voice, progressing gradually and not amenable to elimination by traditional means (treatment of the larynx, rinsing, inhalations and systemic drugs) may indicate neurological problems and even neoplasms of a benign and malignant nature.

Therefore, when an alarming symptom appears, you cannot self-medicate; consultation with a qualified ENT is required.

The voice is the sound waves that are formed during the passage of air through the glottis of the larynx when the ligaments are closed. Tone and timbre depend on the thickness and length of the ligaments - the longer and thinner they are, the purer the tone, and vice versa, the shorter and thicker the ligaments, the lower the voice.

Hoarseness develops with thickening of the vocal cords due to their edema, regular overloads, injuries, during the formation of tumors of various properties, irritation of the throat with chemicals and gases, in an unfavorable environment.

Also, swelling is characteristic of a number of diseases of the oropharynx - this is laryngitis (especially spastic, occurring against the background of stenosis of the larynx), pharyngitis, tonsillitis. In this case, the surface of the ligaments becomes uneven, as a result of which obstacles are formed in the path of the sound wave, interfering with normal sound.

Causes of an unpleasant symptom

The causes of a hoarse voice in an adult are divided into common ones, such as the result of SARS or laryngitis, smoking, irritation of the mucous membrane of the larynx and ligaments due to inhalation of dry air, and rare ones that require careful diagnosis and treatment.

Infectious and inflammatory pathologies

Inflammation of the throat and ligaments often occurs against the background of severe swelling. The most common diseases are laryngitis and laryngotracheitis (when not only the ligaments and larynx, but also the trachea are involved in the process).

Due to swelling, the ligaments lose the ability to fully close, hoarseness occurs, the color of the voice changes, and its sonority decreases.

At the same time, dry cough, sore throat, pain when swallowing, fever up to 37-38°C are observed.

Hoarseness can be replaced by a complete loss of voice if left untreated. The development of timbre disturbances is also characteristic of SARS, influenza, parainfluenza, bacterial infections caused by pneumococcus, Candida fungus, Haemophilus influenzae and other pathogens.

In the chronic form of laryngitis, hoarseness can persist throughout life.

poisoning

Hoarseness, which occurs as a result of poisoning, manifests itself upon contact with caustic substances:

  • chlorine - accompanied by a dry cough, spasm of the larynx, in severe cases, pulmonary edema;
  • ammonia - characterized by sore throat, chest pain, the formation of a large amount of mucous sputum, the condition is also fraught with pulmonary edema;
  • fluorine - manifests itself with signs characteristic of laryngitis - a person has tears, eyes redden, hoarseness and sore throat appear, in severe cases, convulsions, delirium, diarrhea with blood occur.

Such states at first manifest themselves simply as voice timbre disturbances, but in the absence of timely assistance, they can lead to its complete loss.

allergic reactions

Hoarseness is accompanied by a burning sensation in the throat, the appearance of an obsessive dry cough, breathing is gradually difficult, the skin turns pale, reaction inhibition occurs, and then excitation.

Stages quickly replace one another, so the condition requires immediate medical attention.

Endocrine disorders

The condition manifests itself after the removal of goiter and tumors of the larynx, radiation therapy, with iodine deficiency in the body.

Puffiness of the ligaments in such cases is formed due to fluid retention in the tissues, the ligaments become dense, and the syndrome is poorly eliminated, but the voice can be restored with the help of hormone therapy.

Patients with disorders in the endocrine sphere look characteristic - they are pale, the skin and hair are dry, there is no appetite, shortness of breath often develops.

Ligament strain

The problem of hoarseness is typical for people who often speak in front of a large audience and are forced to talk for a long time - these are singers, lecturers, teachers, actors.

The voice can also sit down as a result of a single strain of the ligaments, for example, after attending a concert, loud singing and screaming. In professional singers and public people, hoarseness is often accompanied by the formation of nodules on the ligaments, requiring surgical intervention.

burns

You can get a chemical burn of the mucous membrane and provoke the development of hoarseness upon contact with the following irritants:

  • acetic acid- leads to lesions of the ligaments of varying degrees, up to the complete loss of the voice;
  • nicotine, carbon dioxide, tar contained in tobacco irritate the mucous epithelium of the larynx and ligaments, resulting in swelling and the voice becomes hoarse (smoky);
  • ethyl alcohol - substance burns are characteristic of alcoholics, the symptom develops gradually, over the years (drunk voice);
  • stomach acid- a burn of the ligaments manifests itself with gastroesophageal reflux, when hydrochloric acid and pepsin are regularly thrown from the stomach into the esophagus and trachea.

Treatment depends on the type of irritant. With hoarseness caused by smoking and drinking alcohol, it is enough to give up addictions so that the voice gradually recovers, although long-term irritation of the ligaments can remain for life in the form of hoarseness.

Ligament injuries

Injury and swelling of the ligaments, leading to hoarseness, can be obtained during tracheotomy, ingestion of a foreign object into the respiratory tract, after general anesthesia with tracheal intubation.

You can also earn hoarseness during an operation on the thyroid gland, when the doctor touches the recurrent nerve, which is responsible for the functioning of the vocal cords.

Neurological disorders

In severe cases, breathing disorders and heart rhythm disturbances appear, due to which the patient may die.

A rare pathology is paralysis of the superior laryngeal nerve, in which one or both ligaments are weakened, due to which the voice changes. Manifested as a result of syphilis, diphtheria, trauma.

Paralysis of the recurrent nerves occurs when tumors of the thyroid gland, lymph nodes, esophagus are crushed by tumors, with rabies, botulism and severe poisoning. The glottis narrows, hoarseness and respiratory distress develop, but the throat does not hurt.

Tumors

Benign formations (cysts, fibromas, papillomas, and others) are formed from connective tissue, manifested by frequent, causeless coughing and a violation of the timbre of the voice. The throat does not hurt.

Any tumor poses a threat to the life of the patient, as it narrows the lumen of the larynx, as a result of which the patient may suffocate.

Methods for restoring normal tone

In cases where hoarseness is caused by infectious and inflammatory processes in the larynx, complex etiotropic treatment is required.

Also, the patient needs to ensure complete rest of the ligaments - do not whisper or talk as much as possible to restore normal timbre. In most cases, after laryngitis, pharyngitis and other inflammations, it is possible to completely get rid of hoarseness, therapy is carried out by an ENT.

Treatment of conditions not associated with infection depends on the cause, type of pathology and often requires emergency medical care:

  • allergy is treated by stopping contact with the irritant, prescribing corticosteroids, antihistamines, mast cell membrane stabilizers. In severe cases, an infusion of Prednisolone, Adrenaline, Sodium chloride, Atropine, Ketamine, intubation, ventilation of the lungs are necessary;
  • tumors require surgical intervention;
  • strokes are treated according to the standard program in the neurological departments of clinics, as well as nerve palsies;
  • peripheral paralysis can be eliminated by eliminating the underlying diseases that led to
  • nerve damage - in the recovery period, physiotherapy and phonopedic classes are indicated;
  • poisoning is treated as follows - irritation with chlorine is stopped by washing the nasal mucosa, eyes and mouth with soda solution, administering analeptics, inhaling oxygen. Ammonia poisoning is eliminated by inhalation of warm water vapor with a mixture of citric acid. Defeat with fluorine requires gastric lavage, calcium supplementation.

Specific medications and procedures are selected only by a doctor, and the scheme is individual and sometimes complicated, so it makes no sense to talk in more detail about the therapy process, it all depends on the pathology and clinical symptoms.

Voice restoration in infectious and inflammatory processes

  • observe silence for several days, or at least minimize the load on the ligaments - do not shout, do not sing or whisper;
  • stop smoking and taking alcoholic beverages, which irritates the mucous membrane of the throat and ligaments even more;
  • exclude spicy, sour, salty foods from the diet, take food warm, steam, stew or boil dishes, but do not fry, give preference to food with a soft consistency;
  • observe the drinking regime - you can drink water, juices, fruit drinks (not sour), tea, milk (warm, with honey, baking soda, butter), decoctions of medicinal herbs with anti-inflammatory and regenerating effects;
  • ventilate, wash and humidify the living space, observe the temperature regime.

With severe swelling of the larynx and ligaments, an ambulance should be called (more often the syndrome develops with stenosing laryngitis and threatens to suffocate).

Etiotropic treatment

With hoarseness caused by inflammatory processes of the larynx, therapy is necessary, depending on the type of pathogen (irritant).

To identify which bacterium or virus caused the disease, you can pass a swab from the throat for laboratory analysis.

A fungal infection is diagnosed immediately upon examination of the patient's throat, as it has characteristic signs.

Therapy includes the following items:

  • viral pathologies (ARVI, influenza, laryngitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis) are treated with antiviral and immunomodulating agents;
  • bacterial infections require the use of broad spectrum antibiotics - penicillins (Amoxiclav, Ampicillin,), macrolides (Erythromycin, Azithromycin, Midecamycin), cephalosporins (Cefazolin, Cefamed);
  • they are stopped by the appointment of antifungal agents (Nystatin, Fluconazole), throat treatment with methylene blue, powdered sugar, Candide solution;
  • severe puffiness is removed by taking antihistamines - Loratadin, Zirtek, Suprastin, Claritin;
  • hoarseness is well eliminated by irrigating the throat with a solution of ascorbic acid at a concentration of 5%.

Taking antibiotics, antifungal or antiviral agents (depending on the type of infectious agent) is combined with the use of group drugs - Ibuprofen, Nurofen, Paracetamol, Panadol.

They help reduce the symptoms of intoxication, relieve inflammation, relieve the patient from fever, fever, aching joints and muscles.

Gargling and throat treatment

Local treatment is necessary for all types of inflammatory processes of the ligaments and larynx. Systemic drugs act on the pathogen through the bloodstream, but it is necessary to eliminate the pathogenic flora directly in the lesion.

For this, the following measures are used:

  • treatment of the larynx with drugs in the form of sprays- allows you to destroy pathogens right in the place of their habitat and reproduction, while reducing the impact of drugs on internal organs and speeding up the healing process. Apply sprays with antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, analgesic and antiseptic action. Effective drugs Kamistad, Geksoral, Ingalipt, Bioparox, Kameton, Yoks;
  • lubrication of the affected mucosa Lugol's solution, methylene blue (for candidiasis of the larynx);
  • rinsing with decoctions chamomile, calendula, eucalyptus, sage, solutions of Furacilin, Miramistin, Korsotil, Chlorhexidine, Eludril, Chlorophyllipt, Iodinol. At home, the throat is gargled with a solution of soda and salt with the addition of a couple of drops of iodine, mineral water Borjomi, Narzan, Essentuki.

Gargle should be at least 3-4 times a day, while the pathogenic flora is washed off the surface of the larynx, the tissue is regenerated, the structure of the ligaments is restored. Removal of irritation from the epithelium contributes to the speedy restoration of the timbre of the voice.

Treatment with sprays and solutions is carried out after rinsing, after 20-30 minutes, since the active substance of the drug is better absorbed into the mucous tissue cleared of plaque and accumulation of bacteria.

For a direct effect on the affected throat, tablets are used and, with anti-inflammatory and regenerating effects - Laripront, Falimint, Grammidin, Septolete, Lizobakt, Agisept, Dr. Mom.

Dissolving such drugs should also be done after rinsing the throat with herbal decoction or antiseptic solution, for a better effect of the active substances on the affected mucosa.

Inhalations

Carrying out inhalations for laryngitis is the fastest way to eliminate swelling of the ligaments, prevent the development of spasm of the larynx and cure a hoarse voice.

In cases of stenosing laryngitis, it alleviates the patient's condition well, relieves swelling of the ligaments, even simple inhalation of steam from hot water- for this you need to close yourself in the bathroom and turn on hot water, you should be there for 10-15 minutes.

There are several types of inhalations to treat a sore throat and eliminate ligament irritation.

Steam

They are carried out in the traditional way - the patient bends over a container with hot, but not burning water and breathes steam at a temperature of 40-45 ° C.

You can use herbs chamomile, eucalyptus, plantain, mint, sage. Essential oils of sea buckthorn, peach, tea tree, fir, pine.

Also, soda, salt, a small amount of iodine are added to the water, you can use mineral table water or saline (sodium chloride).

Nebulizer inhalations

Solutions containing essential oils are not suitable for the device, but antiseptics, antitussives and antibiotics can be used.

A good effect is given by inhalations with tincture of calendula, Rotokan, Dioxidin, Ambrobene, Berodual, saline.

Dry inhalations

For this purpose, an aroma lamp is used or just a few drops of etherol are applied to a dry handkerchief or napkin.

The source is placed next to the bed, and inhaling the healing aroma helps to restore the mucous membrane, relieve swelling of the ligaments, improve sleep and make you feel better. Apply oils of eucalyptus, lavender, mint, sea buckthorn, peach.

After inhalation, you should not go out into the open air for 30-40 minutes, the procedures are carried out 2-3 times a day.

Inhalation on a nebulizer takes 5-8 minutes, inhalation of therapeutic warm steam - up to 10-15 minutes.

A dry procedure with an aroma lamp should not last longer than an hour in order to avoid dizziness, and when applying etherol to a napkin, you can leave it at the head of the bed until the morning.

Folk remedies

Traditional medicine recipes are very effective in treating hoarseness when they are used simultaneously with drugs prescribed by a doctor.

Also, folk remedies help to restore the voice at the stage of recovery and prevent the recurrence of the disease.

Several treatments are effective:

  • 100 ml of warm milk is mixed with an equal amount of Borjomi table water, then 2 tsp are added to the solution. natural honey, consumed warm in a small sip. A glass of drink should be drunk 20 minutes before it has cooled;
  • eggnog - this tool is often used by professional singers, actors and lecturers to restore overstressed ligaments and eliminate hoarseness. 2 egg yolks are rubbed into a foam with granulated sugar, after which they are flavored with 1 tsp. butter. Between meals, take ¼ teaspoon of the remedy;
  • a decoction of anise seeds is prepared as follows - 200 gr. seeds are boiled in water for a quarter of an hour, then the solution is cooled to a warm state and a couple of tablespoons of honey are added there. Use the remedy 60-70 ml at a time, 3-4 times a day;
  • 100 gr. fresh carrots are crushed and boiled in half a liter of milk, then the solution is filtered and drunk warm, 1 tbsp each. three times a day.

Quickly helps to eliminate inflammation of the ligaments, not caused by an allergic reaction, resorption of a piece of propolis in the mouth.

Drinking warm milk with honey at night will help improve sleep, sweat, boost immunity and soothe irritated throat mucosa.

If desired, add baking soda on the tip of a knife and a spoonful of butter.

Let's summarize

Therefore, when hoarseness does not go away within 1-2 weeks after a cold or is asymptomatic for a long time, you should consult a doctor and find out the causes of the syndrome. In contact with

Very often, when men want to please a woman, they try to speak softer and lower, almost whispering. And this is no coincidence. The low voice of men in women, since primitive times, has been associated with strength: what do males do to attract females or scare away rivals? That's right, they growl. And a good "roar" is a sign of male health.

But in today's world, a low voice with a hoarseness has become relevant not only for representatives of the strong half of humanity, but has also become a trend for women. Someone goes under the surgeon's knife to get the desired timbre, others smoke, hoping for a "roughening" of the ligaments, and still others try to do without such drastic measures.

It must be said that it will not work to completely change the timbre of the voice, but there are exercises that will help "tune" the vocal cords to the "right way". But in this case, to achieve the desired result, you need to train every day.

First you need to understand how much a deeper voice is needed. It sounds fake and unnatural if a 10-year-old boy or girl, who makes you think of rainbows, puppies and lollipops, has a deep voice. But for a guy over the age of 15 or a girl who has something of the Lady Vamp in her appearance, a deep voice will emphasize the image and make the opposite sex “go crazy”.

In preparation for voice reprogramming, research known low voices and choose your own model. Guys have tons of examples to choose from, and girls can take a look at Marlene Dietrich with her perfect hoarseness and drawling words.

It is necessary to determine how deep the timbre should be compared to the real voice. Knowing the timbre of the voice will help control its volume to make it lower. To do this, you can listen to yourself in front of a mirror, you can record your voice on a computer, on a tape recorder and play it back. Some devices will sound more believable than others, so you need to find good recording and playback quality.

It should be noted that the next step is the ability to relax: when a person is tense or annoyed, his voice sounds higher. Therefore, starting training, you need to try to relax and breathe deeply; nervosa causes involuntary spasms of the vocal cords, as a result of which the voice fluctuates - “breaks down”.

Warm water or warm weak tea before a workout will help relax the muscles in your throat and larynx. Cold water causes spasm of the vocal cords.

Breathe deeply enough to fill your lungs and improve breath control. In this case, it is desirable to avoid short and shallow breaths.

Posture during training is of great importance for achieving a good voice result. With a straight posture, the diaphragm moves freely, increasing the volume of the lungs, which helps to speak more clearly. As an experiment, you can stand in front of a mirror and, by changing your posture, decide how you can improve the sound by changing your posture.

One of the most common exercises for developing low timbre is as follows: you need to sit up straight, put your chin on your chest and stretch the sound “and” as low as possible. Raising your head, continue to repeat - “sing” the sound, fixing the voice at the desired height. This exercise is recommended to be performed several times a day, until maintaining the pitch becomes a habit and it does not change when the head is raised.

For the next exercise, you will need a book. You need to start reading it in a normal voice, slowly pronouncing each syllable. After reading 4-5 sentences, start reading again, but already a tone lower, also slowly and clearly pronouncing each syllable. After 4 - 5 sentences - all over again, dropping another tone lower, until it becomes uncomfortable. This exercise will strengthen your vocal cords and help them get out of their own range. You need to repeat it for 5-10 minutes several times a day, while each time try to drop one tone below the previous workout.

A symptom such as a decrease in sonority, muffledness or hoarseness in an adult, adolescent or child appears quite often with various respiratory diseases. In such cases, it is said that the voice "disappeared" or "sat down".

Local symptomatic agents are widely used for the treatment of laryngitis, pharyngitis and tonsillitis. For example, tablets for hoarseness Septolete, which are antiseptic tablets for sore throats (they are supposed to dissolve in the mouth). And Lizobakt with hoarseness of voice (also lozenges) is used because of the antiseptic effect of its component lysozyme.

Sprays for hoarseness with analgesic and antiseptic properties (Angilex, Cameton, Geksoral, etc.) help well, although they are also sprays for sore throats. But the antibacterial aerosol Bioparox for hoarseness has not been produced since the spring of 2016 and is prohibited for use.

Suspension with the corticosteroid budesonide Pulmicort is not used for hoarseness of voice: its purpose is the treatment of allergic cough and bronchial asthma, as well as the removal of acute stenosis of the larynx with laryngitis.

Homeopathy offers the drug Homeovox for hoarseness, which is taken orally - 5-7 times a day, two tablets; not recommended for pregnant women. Also available are Bryonia oral granules (with white steppe plant extract) and Phytolacca throat gargle (based on the American laconosus plant).

Surgical treatment should be carried out in cases of pathological formations on the vocal cords that are not amenable to drug therapy. Malignant tumors and Reinke's edema are also removed surgically.

The prescribed physiotherapy treatment for voice disorders associated with inflammation of the respiratory tract consists of sessions of electrophoresis with drugs, phonophoresis and galvanic currents on the collar zone (in the absence of thyroid diseases).

How to cure hoarseness at home?

Traditional folk treatment is the treatment of inflammation of the larynx (laryngitis) and pharynx (firingitis) by daily five-minute warm-moist inhalations with a solution of soda, table or sea salt (a teaspoon per 200 ml of water).

It is advised to take eggnog for hoarseness - a mixture of two egg yolks with a tablespoon of granulated sugar and a teaspoon of butter or heavy cream. When lukewarm, this is an old home remedy for sore throats. However, the yolks are used raw, so there is a risk of intestinal infection - salmonellosis.

Among the proposed home remedies for dysphonia, you can often find very strange recipes. For example, make compresses on the neck from laundry soap with honey. Or eating boiled peanuts for hoarseness. Nobody gives details of the last remedy, however, according to the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, you need to boil peanuts in unpurified water (right in the pod) and long enough for the kernels to absorb the antioxidants contained in the peel. You should also keep in mind that peanuts are a strong allergen.
