Clogged ear - what to do? Blowed ear: effective methods of home treatment How to treat colds of the ears at home.

Ear pain is perhaps the most intense after toothache, and it also occurs regardless of the season. Mostly this can happen in the summer, when, due to high air temperature, people are forced to open all the windows in an apartment or car, which is fraught with drafts and diseases like otitis media. A blown ear has a bad tendency to remind itself of itself late at night, so it will be useful for every person to learn about the means of easing it.

Symptoms of the disease

The first symptoms are often not too painful and therefore few people pay attention to them, while with more pronounced symptoms, the treatment will also no longer be so easy. The ear can sometimes be blocked for a short time, sometimes the hearing worsens a little. With inflammation present, the pain gradually increases, until the onset of the first sleepless nights.

The variety differs depending on the type of inflammation - from pressing, pulsating and aching sensations, to sudden and rather strong backache in the ear. In advanced cases, pus may be released, which will entail the necessary surgical intervention, in case of ignoring the visit to the doctor. A blown ear often affects the general well-being of the sick person - weakness, lethargy appear, body temperature rises.

The primary signs that the ear is blown are sensations of pain in the head area, ear pain. Their duration may be periodic, may be constant or appear in influxes. At the time of chewing, the ear can lay. Such sensations indicate that fluid has appeared in the middle ear, possibly a purulent formation. Otitis is a disease that contributes to the deterioration of well-being, weakness appears, and can provoke a temperature.

First aid

After the first sensations of pain in the ear, immediate assistance is necessary. First aid is to warm the cold place, specifically the ear:

  1. First, you need to take a drug to eliminate pain (Paracetamol), or another substance containing it.
  2. Make a round hole in the gauze, moisten it in a solution of camphor alcohol and water, in equal proportions, then put the gauze over your ear and wrap it up.
  3. It is also possible to warm up with a special, blue lamp, heating pad, or salt. Warming up in case of temperature increase is excluded.
  4. Twist a cotton swab and soak it in boric alcohol, then insert it into the ear hole. Due to possible damage to the eardrum, it is not recommended to drip the ear with boric alcohol.
  5. And lastly, this is an immediate visit for help to a narrow specialist.

It happens that the ear will blow under the air conditioner. In this case, it is necessary to apply treatment. These can be compresses for warming a sore ear or warming up with a special lamp. Then you need to visit a narrow specialist for a more detailed examination of the affected area, which will attribute the course of the necessary treatment.

During pregnancy

If a woman is pregnant, especially in the long term of the 3rd trimester, then the number in the choice of medicines is significantly reduced. In this case, they resort to the treatment of preparations based on oils and plant substances, if necessary, together with vasoconstrictor drops. Otipax is prescribed to prevent acute pain.

It is also possible, treatment with folk remedies:

  1. Rinse the sore ear with a syringe (without a needle), or microclyster, using a warm tincture of chamomile or calendula.
  2. Apply compresses, consisting of camphor alcohol and boiled water, in a ratio (1: 1), they have a warming effect.

children

Before a visit to a specialist, you can make compresses based on boric alcohol with water in a ratio (1: 1). Such compresses are possible if the ear pain is not accompanied by fever or discharge from the ear.

Important! It is contraindicated for children to drip boric alcohol into sore ears, due to an uncertain degree of the disease, the eardrum can be broken, after which a complication is possible.

Medical treatment

A cold ear can result in unbearable pain, which can be avoided after the use of an anesthetic drug (Paracetamol). Then make a gauze compress, fold the gauze in several layers, cut out a circle in order to put it on your ear.

Next, you should prepare camphor alcohol, pre-diluted with water, in a ratio of 50/50. Moisten gauze in this solution, wring it out and put it on the sore ear, then fix it with a bandage, wrapping it around the head. It is necessary to keep warm, for this, keep the compress for about an hour.

Otipax

Otipax is a drug whose main task is to have an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. Very often, with otitis media, all its forms and just ear congestion, doctors prescribe a course of treatment with this drug. Otipaks, removes all inflammatory processes, relieves pain, and ensures recovery. Drip into the affected ear 2 drops three times a day for 5 days.

Hydrogen peroxide

To treat an ear cold, you need to clean the sore ear from earwax. Hydrogen peroxide softens wax and promotes easy removal from the ear canal. Also, the use of hydrogen peroxide is necessary, especially with purulent discharge, then it is necessary to remove them, then proceed to treatment. Treatment consists of warming up the affected area, with the exception of temperature and purulent discharge, then dripping the sore ear with drops.

Treatment with folk remedies

Our ears are too closely connected to the vital functions of the brain, so it's not worth the risk. If you have passed a medical examination and the doctor has not revealed any complications that need to be treated directly with medications and under the strict supervision of a doctor, you can start using traditional medicine.

Salt

Warm the ear with the most ordinary salt. Often, after a few applications, such a compress gives an excellent result, with the exception of advanced cases of otitis media:

  • heat a handful of ordinary kitchen salt in a clean frying pan;
  • wrap in any fabric or gauze folded in several layers and apply to the sore ear several times a day;
  • keep the compress until the salt has completely cooled.

Instead of salt, a blue lamp can be used if you have one.

IMPORTANT! The warming procedure is strictly prohibited if there is any purulent discharge in the ear, as the heat will further stimulate the inflammatory process.

After warming up, it is advisable to drip drops, these do not have to be pharmaceutical products, boric alcohol, preliminarily slightly warmed up, is quite suitable. If you want to use a more gentle remedy, but with no less efficiency, check out a number of folk recipes.

Honey

Honey has almost the widest range of healing properties that are used both internally and externally:

  • mix a tablespoon of honey with half a tablespoon of flour until a homogeneous mass is formed;
  • transfer the mixture to gauze folded in several layers and apply to the sore ear, fixing it with a woolen scarf;
  • keep the compress on throughout the night.

For the next way to get rid of ear pain, you will need to purchase paraffin turundas. You can buy them at a pharmacy, or you can cook them yourself from melted wax by finding instructions on the Internet:

  • warm the sore ear with turundas for a while to remove earwax and prevent inflammation from growing.

Bay leaf

This remedy includes the use of only kitchen bay leaves and propolis:

  • chop dry leaves, pour a small amount of vodka;
  • insist for several hours, wipe the ear area with the mixture with a cotton swab several times a day, periodically leave the cotton wool soaked in the tincture in the ear for a while.

IMPORTANT! Be careful not to get a lot of liquid inside, treat only in pairs.

In addition to tincture, ear drops that are effective in their healing properties are made from bay leaves:

  • grind a few dry leaves, boil for several minutes;
  • insist two to three hours, instill a couple of drops in a sore ear several times a day;
  • after instillation, it is recommended to cover the ear with a cotton swab or turunda.

Chamomile

The most common pharmacy chamomile is also quite capable of replacing expensive medications in the treatment of otitis media:

  • brew a teaspoon of dry chamomile in a glass of boiling water;
  • let it brew for several hours, rinse the ear area with a decoction several times a day, after filtering it.

Of the compresses, the most effective and inexpensive is a compress prepared on the basis of boric alcohol or vodka:

  • soak a sufficiently large piece of cotton wool in the product and fix it at the affected ear overnight with a handkerchief or bandage.

IMPORTANT! This method will give a positive effect only at an advanced stage of the disease.

Onion

A remedy using onions helps to reduce pain and relieve inflammation that has already formed:

  • cut a medium onion into not too small cubes;
  • wrap in gauze, the size should be such that it fits freely inside the affected ear;
  • hold for half an hour, with severe pain, repeat the procedure after an hour.

IMPORTANT! Do not put the gauze too deep into the ear hole, do not let the onion juice get inside.

The following recipe for ear drops also involves the use of an onion, but already baked:

  • cut off the top of one medium onion, without removing the rest of the peel;
  • use a knife to cut a small hole on top and pour cumin seeds into it;
  • close the hole again with the cut top, wrap the onion in foil and bake in the oven until soft;
  • expand, squeeze out all the juice from the bulb, strain if necessary, and instill five drops at bedtime.

Oil

As drops, you can also use any vegetable oil, be it olive, linseed or ordinary sunflower:

  • warm the oil a little in a water bath, then use a pipette to instill three to four drops in the morning and evening.

IMPORTANT! Make sure that the oil is just warm, as cold will only aggravate the inflammatory process, and hot will leave burns inside the auricle, which can lead to the most unexpected consequences, up to hearing loss.

Propolis and honey

At that stage of the blown ear, when pus has already formed inside, the following remedy with propolis and honey is recommended:

  • pour a small amount of propolis with half a glass of alcohol and insist for several hours;
  • add honey to the resulting tincture in a ratio of one to two, mix thoroughly;
  • drip three drops into the sore ear every evening until the pus disappears completely.

Mumiyo

For sharp, shooting pains, prepare drops based on mummy:

  • dissolve about three grams of mummy in a tablespoon of boiling water, pour into any container and stir, periodically adding water;
  • bring the volume to 100 ml;
  • pour a teaspoon of boric alcohol, albucide and the resulting mummy solution into a separate container;
  • mix thoroughly until a homogeneous consistency is formed;
  • instill 10 drops in the ear at least four times a day.

IMPORTANT! Before instillation, be sure to heat the mixture, but do not bring it to a hot state.

Garlic

Garlic no less effectively relieves inflammation and pain, in addition, it has a bactericidal effect, which prevents the further development of the disease:

  • grate one medium clove on a fine grater to the state of gruel;
  • add four drops of camphor oil, mix thoroughly;
  • put the mixture on gauze, build a tampon and keep it in your ear until you feel a slight burning sensation;
  • pull out and drip a couple of drops of any vegetable oil, barely heated in a water bath.

Treatment of otitis media in young children, especially those under five years of age, is highly discouraged from folk remedies, so as not to provoke the development of negative processes that may further affect hearing.

For adults, folk remedies are acceptable until the first opportunity to visit a competent doctor appears, and continuation can be carried out only with his consent. Incorrect self-diagnosis can lead to incorrect treatment, which will take much longer to correct than the primary problem.

The cold process can result in anything, it is necessary to pay attention to the problem that has arisen in a timely manner. If the ear blew out, and a bump came out, then this is a consequence of the inflammatory process that occurs inside the body, during which the lymph node has increased. An immediate visit to a specialist to examine the problem will help to avoid complications. The doctor will prescribe a course of treatment, warming, drops, possibly antibiotics, depending on the condition. Treatment is necessary in a mandatory form, otherwise, everything can end with surgery.

Ear health is interconnected with the state of other parts of the body. It often happens that it starts to tickle in the throat after a quickly eaten ice cream or a glass of cold water - and immediately the ear begins to hurt. Or seasonal SARS, which passed without a high temperature, but it takes a long time to treat otitis media.

It happens that the ear begins to hurt on its own - usually this symptom wakes up in the middle of the night and it is very difficult to cope with it. It is easy to get a cold in the ear - to walk without a hat in the cold season, to wash your hair in the summer and not to dry it, it is unsuccessful to sit under the air conditioner or near the window in a moving vehicle.

What to do if you catch a cold in your ear, and the pain catches unexpectedly?

The structure of the organ of hearing

The organ of hearing consists of three departments:

  • external - auricle and ear canal;
  • middle - separated from the outer tympanic membrane - the tympanic cavity, the cave with the cells of the mastoid process and the Eustachian tube; the tympanic cavity is responsible for hearing, it contains a hammer, stirrup and anvil that transmit the signal further;
  • internal, responsible not only for hearing, but also for balance and coordination - the cochlea and the semicircular canals.

The middle section - or middle ear - is so connected to the nasopharynx that it is sometimes called the paranasal sinus. It communicates with the nasopharynx by the auditory tube - it is located just behind the nasal cavity in the region of transition from the nose to the pharynx. Through the auditory tube, ventilation, drainage and constant pressure are maintained in the tympanic cavity and in the anastomosis of the maxillary sinus.

In adults, the auditory tube descends at an angle to the pharynx, and in children under 5 years old it is located almost horizontally, so it is easier for microbes to infiltrate all parts of the hearing organ.

It is precisely because of the anatomical proximity that inflammation of the ear occurs not only when you catch it directly, but also with ordinary rhinitis or with irritation of the larynx.

Pathogenic flora can invade the organ of hearing from the outside, through the Eustachian tube and through the bloodstream. It is often necessary to treat a runny nose, SARS or acute respiratory infections and otitis media at the same time - especially in children.

Ear cold - symptoms

Inflammation of the organ of hearing is commonly called otitis media - it can develop in the outer, middle and inner sections.

Otitis symptoms:

  • pain - it can be sharp, aching, shooting; give to the temple, spread to the teeth and neck;
  • congestion;
  • fever is not always the case.

With the rapid development of the disease, the eardrum is perforated and serous fluid or pus is separated from the auditory tube.

In the outer section - in the auditory tube - boils may appear. These purulent formations during maturation cause severe pain. It is very easy to catch a cold - there are many causes of otitis media. It is enough to get supercooled, drink a cold liquid, sit in a draft. Inflammation appears if water got into the ear and it was not removed on time, with inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, against the background of complications of the common cold - with sinusitis and sinusitis, with pharyngitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis.

The usual time for the onset of symptoms of otitis is night, and it is impossible to immediately run to the pharmacy. What to do to relieve pain?

Cold ear - how to treat at home

The most important symptom of inflammation is pain, and it is desirable to get rid of it very quickly. At home, it is necessary to treat a cold with improvised means.

There is hardly an apartment whose owners do not use alcohol-based liquids. It is better if you have camphor or boric alcohol on hand, but vodka, cologne or perfume will do, even any alcohol-based medicine - Valocordin, motherwort or valerian tincture, Korvaldin and the like. The last remedies also have a calming and sedative effect, which is very important, since the pain usually worsens at night.

Many try to make a compress, but this home remedy is not very effective and its consequence can be a burn of the auricle - it has very delicate skin. Therefore, it is better to be treated with a cotton turunda - soak it in an alcohol liquid (for children, vodka is diluted with water 1/2, and alcohol - 1/3); and put in the ear canal for 30 minutes. Usually the pain subsides during this time.

At home, "flower growers" - those who have a flower garden on the windowsill - have an advantage. To cure acute pain, it is enough to crush fresh geranium leaves and put them into the ear canal.

I managed to fall asleep - this does not mean forget about the sore ear. The inflammatory process will not go away on its own - the pain can return at any moment. If the pain in the ear appeared on its own and there is no time to go to the hospital, you can try to be treated at home on your own.

You can’t experiment with children - the inflammatory process in the organ of hearing with inadequate treatment can cause hearing loss, which will affect later life. Children should be treated only by an otolaryngologist!

  1. Warming procedures with a swab dipped in alcohol liquid. 30 minutes the tampon is in the ear canal - 30 minutes break. Alternate throughout the day.
  2. You can also insert a swab soaked into the ear canal:
  • in a mixture of vegetable oil and onion juice - 1/1;
  • in a mixture of linseed oil and onion juice - 1/1;
  • in aloe juice or Kalanchoe;
  • in propolis tincture;
  • in tincture of calendula.

Alcohol tinctures can be purchased at a pharmacy, or made at home and stored in the refrigerator - such tinctures can be used to treat not only the ears, but also other parts of the body, such as joints. A few drops of tinctures of medicinal plants or propolis can be added to a solution for gargling with SARS - otitis media often develops against the background of this inflammatory process.

To make an alcohol tincture, you need to pour 2-3 tablespoons of dry vegetable raw materials with vodka or alcohol, insist from a week to 10 days in a dark place - it is advisable to shake it periodically.

Then the finished medicine is filtered and used if something has to be treated.

If you are used to compresses, then they should not be based on alcohol, but use dry heat. Salt, millet, rice, sand calcined in a pan can be poured into a linen bag. If bulk funds are not at hand, you can attach a boiled egg wrapped in a cloth to the tragus.

Ear drops do:

  1. From the tincture of the marsh rhizome in alcohol. It is made already according to the described algorithm. 3-4 drops of tincture are instilled into the ear canal 3 times a day, while taking 30-40 drops of the tincture orally - inside, previously diluted with water.
  2. From a decoction of bay leaves - usually it is always at home. Boiling water - half a glass - pour 4 bay leaves and leave to infuse for 3-4 hours. Then they filter. 7 drops are instilled into the ear 4 times a day, 2 tablespoons are taken orally at the same time.

If a person has a cold in his ear, an otolaryngologist will be able to suggest what to do in the first place, as well as how and how to treat otitis media to prevent complications. He correctly diagnoses the disease and develops an adequate treatment depending on the individual characteristics of the patient, and also explains to the patient how to cure the ear of a cold. But anti-inflammatory drops and antibiotics in the patient's first aid kit will help relieve pain and alleviate the condition before going to the doctor.

The main directions of treatment of catarrhal otitis

Therapy for acute otitis media is mainly aimed at relieving the inflammatory process and stopping the pain syndrome. In the case of a cold of the ears, treatment should be started as early as possible, then the measures taken give the best effect and do not allow the inflammation to move into a much more dangerous and unpleasant purulent stage. In this case, the Eustachian tubes and the eardrum will be affected. How to treat a cold ear, consider further.

Anesthesia of the hearing organs in the catarrhal form of otitis media is most often performed with the help of topical preparations:

  • Ear drops Normaks, Sofradex, Otinum, Otipaks contain anti-inflammatory components or antibiotics in their composition, which allows you to quickly relieve pain. You need to drip them several times a day according to a doctor's prescription, warming them up in your hand to a temperature of 35-37 degrees before use. After the ear canal is closed with a cotton or gauze turunda.
  • In the absence of special drops, you can use novocaine, 70% alcohol or carbolic glycerin, heated vodka or vaseline oil.
  • Ointments and compresses that reduce pain, such as a compress of 1% or 2% salicylic alcohol. The cotton wool impregnated with it is introduced into the ear canal.
  • Nasal drops that have a vasoconstrictive effect (Nafthyzin, Galazolin, Sanorin) help reduce swelling and improve the outflow of fluid from the affected organ. Apply 3 times a day, 5 drops.

In addition, with the help of medicines and physiotherapy, inflammation is combated:

If it is a catarrhal cold of the ear, treatment at home after consulting a doctor is the best option in most cases.

Features of the therapy of purulent otitis media

How to treat a purulent cold of the ear can only be determined by an ENT doctor. The purulent form of otitis media requires mandatory antibiotic therapy; in severe cases, hospitalization and round-the-clock supervision by a medical worker may be necessary. In particular, this applies to the preperforative stage, when the pain is especially strong, and the purulent contents are in the tympanic cavity.

After the rupture of the eardrum, the exudate flows out, which, in combination with the action of antibiotics, quickly improves the patient's condition. Small holes in the eardrum soon close up without a trace, and in place of large holes, scars can form, which negatively affect the functioning of the entire auditory system. At the same time, no folk remedies are categorically recommended. The secreted pus and mucus are odorless. They should be wiped with a cotton swab soaked in 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. Disinfectants and astringents are also used.

With a long-term (for several months) presence of fluid in the tympanic cavity, as well as with relapses of the disease, the doctor may decide to perform a myringtomy operation.

It is used for both adults and children. In this case, the eardrum is dissected under general anesthesia, pus is removed and a special tube made of plastic or metal is inserted, which contributes to the removal of fluid to the outside. The tube is worn from several months to one and a half years, after which it falls out on its own.

Sometimes the question arises of what to do if you have a cold (cold) ear, and the treatment does not help. Then you need to see a doctor, because sometimes inflammation can be caused by fungal diseases. At the same time, the fungus does not outwardly manifest itself in any way, but it develops very quickly and clogs the passage, as a result of which local drugs do not get inside. In this case, after the examination, the otolaryngologist rinses the auditory canal with a special solution and prescribes the necessary drugs.

With a neglect of the disease or improper therapy (self-medication), serious complications are possible:

Using traditional medicine recipes

If a person has a cold in his ear, traditional medicine can tell you how to treat at home. A large number of plants can alleviate the condition of the patient with acute otitis media. Below are a few time-tested recipes:

  • Tincture of calendula. A cotton swab is wetted in it and inserted into the ear canal, covered with dry cotton wool from above. Hold as long as possible, lying on your side.
  • Geranium leaf. The edge of the sheet is cut off, which is then folded into a tube and the cut end is introduced into the course, laid with a cotton swab and fixed with a handkerchief or bandage.
  • Garlic oil. In 100 g of strongly heated vegetable oil, 2 cloves of crushed garlic are added, infused for an hour, then filtered. 2-4 drops of oil are applied to the bandage and placed in the ear canal for 10 minutes.
  • Propolis tincture. 10 g of the beekeeping product is cooled in the form of a bar in the freezer, then rubbed on a grater and poured into an opaque container. The powder is poured with wine alcohol (70%), tightly closed and infused in a dark place for about a week, cooled in the refrigerator and filtered. Equal parts of water and tincture are mixed in a pipette, all this is dripped onto a cotton swab and inserted into the diseased organ for 10 minutes or until the burning sensation begins.
  • Linseed oil with onion. Onion juice and linseed oil are mixed in a 1:1 ratio, a gauze pad is moistened in the mixture and placed for 3 hours, then the procedure is repeated with fresh oil.
  • Fuck juice. Freshly squeezed juice is dripped into the organ of hearing three times a day, 2 drops. Helps well at the initial stage of the disease.

All folk recipes should be used only after consulting a doctor and making an accurate diagnosis.

You can reduce the risk of acute otitis media by following some rules about yourself or your child:

  • infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract and influenza should be avoided, optimally - regularly vaccinated against influenza with topical drugs for this season;
  • vaccinate a child against pneumococcal infection;
  • contact the clinic in time with symptoms of an allergy and take appropriate measures to eliminate it or alleviate the course;
  • monitor the child's breathing (nasal or oral) to prevent the growth of adenoids;
  • feed the baby, holding it at an angle of 45 degrees, to avoid leakage of milk or nutrient mixture into the Eustachian tubes;
  • avoid contact with tobacco smoke as much as possible, which provokes and complicates the course of inflammatory processes.

In the cold season, many are wondering what to do if they have a cold in their ear. Inflammation in the ears with frostbite or a complication of catarrhal inflammation appears quite often. In this case, patients most often complain of pain and shooting sensations. To determine how to treat if your ears hurt with a cold, you need to be diagnosed in the office of an ENT doctor.

Often the described symptoms occur with other forms of inflammation. To prescribe the right course of treatment, the patient needs to undergo several types of studies and determine the nature of the disease. Self-treatment in this case is unacceptable, but there are several recipes that can reduce signs of pain and other symptoms.

Ear pain with a cold occurs as the first symptom of inflammation. With colds or the first signs of otitis media, the patient feels discomfort in the middle ear. The inflammation may be acute or develop gradually, but in both cases timely treatment is necessary.

Inflammation in this area can be triggered by many types of diseases, as well as due to mechanical impact or ignoring the rules of hygiene. Other reasons include:

  • allergic reactions;
  • long-term use of drugs;
  • untreated;
  • prolonged runny nose;
  • hypothermia of the body.

Colds in the ears occur mainly in children, but are not uncommon in adults. If you do not start the treatment of colds on time, inflammation can go into a chronic stage and lead to serious pathological processes.

Symptoms

Despite the fact that an ear cold is a fairly common inflammation, it would be useful to clarify the symptoms of the disease. If you have a runny nose and an earache for a long time, you should consult an otolaryngologist, as these are the first signs of inflammation.

Other symptoms of a cold ear include:

  • purulent discharge;
  • inflammation of the mucous membrane;
  • ear swelling;
  • unbearable pain;
  • shooting sensations;
  • strong pressure on the eardrum;
  • secretion of mucous fluid;
  • hearing impairment.

With such signs, it is necessary to correctly diagnose the disease and begin the correct course of treatment developed by an otolaryngologist.

How and what to treat a cold ear at home

After diagnosing the nature of the inflammation, the doctor will prescribe medication.

But not always the patient has the opportunity to consult a qualified doctor.

In such a situation, postponing treatment is unacceptable, so use the following tips.

  1. If an ear cold came out against the background of a developing inflammatory process, purchase special vasoconstrictor drops.
  2. In case of acute pain, painkillers based on paracetamol or ibuprofen. They will not only reduce pain, but also act as anti-inflammatory drugs.
  3. Most often, doctors prescribe combination drugs, which include antibiotics -, and others.
  4. In case of strong pressure on the eardrum area, it is necessary to use Polymyxin, Rivanol, Etonium and others.

Introduce drops into the ear strictly according to the permitted dosage using a pipette. It must be pre-treated with alcohol-containing preparations or dipped in hot water. Thus, you disinfect the drug.

Before injecting drugs into the ear, warm the medicine bottle to body temperature. So, you will improve the effect of the medication.

Medical treatment

The following drugs should be included in the further course of treatment:

For external use, use boric alcohol and oils. Do not instill alcohol-containing substances into the ear canal. Thus, you can injure the skin and cause burns. In addition, alcohol can rupture the eardrum and impair the function of the hearing aid.

These medicines should only be used with the permission of the ear doctor. Many medicines have serious side effects, so read the instructions carefully before use.

But if you do not have the opportunity to see a doctor in the coming days, use other methods of treatment. There are several ways to relieve the symptoms of a cold at home.

Onion

To eliminate pain and other symptoms, patients use heat compresses, turundas soaked in medicines and oils. The best way to treat an ear cold is to:

  1. Finely chop the onion.
  2. Squeeze the vegetable juice and add three drops of olive oil to it.
  3. Stir the resulting mixture and moisten the gauze flagellum in the composition.
  4. Enter into the ear canal for fifteen minutes.

This recipe will help relieve swelling and pain, but does not completely eliminate these symptoms.

Linseed and onion oils

To reduce pain and other discomfort, you need to purchase flaxseed oil.

Add an equal amount of onion juice to the oil.

To do this, chop the onion to the state of gruel and squeeze out its juice.

Stir this mixture and soak cotton wool in it.

Then enter it into the ear canal for several hours.

You can repeat this procedure once every day.

Tinctures

Various tinctures. They can be purchased at a pharmacy, but self-made have a more effective effect.

To make a tincture it is necessary to choose the main ingredient of the solution. They can be raspberry or rosehip roots, as well as based on propolis. The bee product has the best effect, so it is recommended to choose this ingredient for making homemade tincture.

To do this, purchase propolis and cool it in the refrigerator. After a couple of hours, the product will be ready for the manufacture of the solution.

Grate it on a coarse grater and pour boiling water for thirty minutes. After that, drain the water and pour the mixture with two glasses of medical alcohol.

The tincture should be left in a dark place for thirty days. If the pain becomes unbearable, you can drip the solution fourteen days after infusion.

In addition to propolis tincture with a cold ear, you can use sunflower oil mixed with an alcohol extract of propolis in a ratio of two to one.

Then make a turunda and soak it in the solution. After that, enter into the ear canal for one hour.

Propolis tincture can be replaced with purchased calendula solution. Before the introduction into the ear, the solution must be diluted with water in the same proportion. Soak cotton wool in the resulting product and enter into the ear for half an hour.

Decoctions

Various decoctions have a good remedy. Bay leaves or chamomile flowers are best suited for making a decoction. To prepare a decoction in a saucepan, add two glasses of water and add the selected ingredient.

Then bring the broth to a boil and leave in a dark place for three hours.

It is necessary to instill the resulting solution ten drops into the sore ear and at the same time take three tablespoons inside.

To prepare a chamomile tincture, you need to pour dry flowers with hot water. Leave the glass for thirty minutes and then strain. Take the medicine by mouth and also flush your ears.

warming up

When you have a cold, the first thing you need to do is get rid of the pain. To do this, heat a small amount of edible salt or cereal in a frying pan.

Then collect the mixture in a gauze bag and apply to the affected ear.

Apply these bags every three hours.

Immediately after the procedure, the patient feels a decrease in pain and improved blood circulation in the affected area.

Preventive measures

Regardless of the choice of treatment, consult a doctor for advice. Sometimes alternative medicine methods can give a significant result, and in some cases have a detrimental effect.

Remember that inflammation is easier to predict than to treat. Therefore, take preventive measures and try to protect the body from colds and viral diseases.

Don't forget to keep your cold and flu vaccinations up-to-date, and get vaccinated against pneumococcal disease.

The symptoms that you have a cold in your ear are simple: pain and “shooting” inside the ear, radiating to the throat, head, face, increased irritability of the facial nerve; there may be a temperature, an increase in the lymph nodes around the diseased ear. Teeth may begin to whine from the side of the diseased ear, a runny nose may appear - these are interconnected processes. If you notice these symptoms in yourself, then you need to treat cold ear.

If the house has blue lamp- you are lucky. Warm the sore ear for 5 minutes every half hour, put on a hat at night and enjoy your recovery in the morning. If there is no lamp, do not despair. Take a cotton swab (a piece of gauze or a cotton pad) and moisten it camphor alcohol. No camphor alcohol? moisten with ordinary alcohol. Or vodka. Or, in my case, whiskey. Now place it in your ear and press on top heating pad. No heating pad? fabric bag with hot salt. Sock with hot rice.

I had no desire (and strength) to heat rice and salt, so I just took a camping flask, poured boiling water into it, poured boiling water over it and wrapped it with a towel on top so as not to burn myself, and pressed it to my sore ear. Done? Lie down on the bed. In principle, you can lie like this until all the heating agents have cooled down. That is, 15 minutes. Repeat the procedure every hour. At night, I was advised to wrap my head with a scarf, which I did. In the morning there was still a slight pain, but after 2 warm-ups it disappeared.

System approach and prevention

Cold in the ear- half the trouble. You are already getting sick and the next day you may wake up with a sore throat and fever. In order not to get sick, you need to take care of your entire body. Here is a list of things to do in order not to get sick!

1. Take a "loading" dose vitamin C. Do not be afraid of an overdose - it does not accumulate in the body and is excreted quite quickly. If there is no ascorbic acid at home, eat garlic, lemon, onion, drink wild rose.

2. Gargle chamomile or eucalyptus- they will relieve swelling and inflammation, which begin from the side of the diseased ear.

3.Get warm! Wear a warm bathrobe and be sure- wool socks. If your first aid kit has pepper paste, stick it on your heels for 2- 3 hours (but no more).

4. If there is no temperature, then take it before bed hot bath.

5. Drink a lot warm liquid. Tea with honey, lemon, mint and cinnamon works best.

6. It is better if in your first aid kit there will always be not only ascorbic acid, but also some kind of cold, antiviral and immunomodulatory agent: Anaferon, Interferon, Cycloferon, Arbidol, Kagocel, Rinza , "Remantadine", as well as aspirin and paracetamol.

Health to you!
