  • A dense, elongated main part that creates a free edge of the nail of the desired length.
  • A short, thin contact zone with which the tip is fixed to the natural nail.

Each person has individual anthropometric data, so the characteristics of the fingers and natural plates determine the availability of varieties of tips for extensions.

Classification of plastic linings:

  • According to the contact zone: deep, shortened, non-contact. Selected exclusively according to the size of the nail plate. If you have a small nail bed, tips with a minimal contact area are used.

It is enough to watch nail extensions using tips in the video below to understand that this is a high-tech procedure, which, however, can be performed at home. In order to perform nail extensions using tips, you need to find out what it is and what criteria it is divided into.

Mysterious tips - what are they?

Another type of artificial nails is extended nails. To build them up, they use mysterious tips (from the English “tip” - tip) - special plate shapes made of durable and elastic material, which are placed under the free edge of the nail for subsequent covering with extension material. You need to try to understand the question of what tips are - what they are and how they can be used.

In other words, a tip is a kind of plastic template that is glued to a natural nail and then covered with modeling material (gel, resin, acrylic).

There are tips that are divided in half from the inside. One part is thinner, the other is thicker. The thinner part is called the application surface; it is what is glued to the nail plate. The thicker part is the main part of the tip and serves as the free edge of the nail.

Between the top and bottom parts Tips there is a border - a notch. At the same time, when gluing a tip onto a nail, you need to ensure that the cut edge of the natural nail exactly matches the notch on the tip.

Just like false nails, tips should only be of very high quality, produced renowned manufacturer. Not only the health of your own nails depends on this, but also the service life of the extensions, because the better the tips, glue and modeling material, the longer they will last.

Beautiful extended nails on tips and photos of makeup on them

You can get beautiful extended nails using tips if you use high-quality materials for the procedure. High-quality tips differ from low-quality ones in that they look different when held up to light. So, for example, if you look at the clearance of a cheap tip of questionable production, you can see that it is all homogeneous, i.e. its thickness is the same in all places. High-quality tips have areas with thickening, which will be located in places with special tension on the nail plate.

It takes a lot of time to create such “correct” tips. First in laboratory conditions They calculate the tension forces of the nails, then create a drawing taking into account all the thickenings and only after that the tips themselves are made. Manicure on tips can be done in any way, using varnishes and nail decorations.

The material for the manufacture of modern tips, despite its strength, can be easily processed with an ordinary file. Tips are divided into 10 types by size and are often sold in sets of 40 pieces. As for their color, there is also plenty to choose from. You can purchase bright white tips for creating a French manicure, natural colors or completely transparent ones, which look great with an unusual design or artistic painting without coating with decorative varnish.

How to extend nails using tips: video and description of the procedure

Before you extend nails with tips yourself, you should learn the rules of this manipulation. Therefore, we further suggest watching how to extend nails using tips in a video that demonstrates the entire procedure:

The better the artificial nails are matched to the real ones, the more natural they will look. And for this it is necessary that the tips fit perfectly on natural nails. For this purpose, they are adjusted, processed in such a way that their size and shape exactly replicate the size and shape of natural nails. And now a description of the procedure or how to extend nails using tips.

To make it easier to work with tips, you can put them in a hot water. They will heat up a little and become softer, more flexible, and, therefore, easier to work with.

Ready-made tips, as a rule, are sold very long, so that every fashionista can choose any length that suits her. Thus, most often the tips are cut off. This can be done using special tongs - boats. You cannot cut them using regular nail scissors or any other scissors, as this may damage the tips.

After cutting to the required length, they should be given the desired shape. To do this, use regular nail files. varying degrees grit size, starting with the file with the coarsest abrasiveness, gradually reducing it. You can process the tip, that is, give it the desired shape, even after it has been glued to the natural nail.

After this, the tips should be treated with a light disinfectant. The natural nail is also treated with nail polish remover to degrease its surface. After this, the tips can be glued to the nail.

The glued tip is processed again with a fine-grain file, cutting off the border between the edge of the glued tip and the nail plate. Here it is very important to carefully file down the surface of the tip, being careful not to damage the surface of the nail plate. Without some experience, it is better not to do such work yourself, but to entrust it to a specialist in a beauty salon.

Then you can begin to strengthen the nail using fiberglass or silk, followed by the application of gel, resin or acrylic.

On the one hand, extended nails are beautiful, on the other hand, they perform protective function, covering natural nails and protecting them from adverse effects environment, accidental scratches, etc. However, at the same time, extended nails do not allow natural ones to receive required amount moisture and nutrients and also breathe normally. Therefore, it is not recommended to constantly wear extended nails, even those made from high-quality materials. It is better to do this intermittently: after two to three months of use, remove it, allowing natural nails to recover. After removing the extended nails, you should conduct a short rehabilitation course for natural nails using various means: strengthening baths, ointments, creams, restorative lotions, special medicinal varnishes, etc.

Since a natural nail is constantly growing, and its growth does not stop even under a plastic tip, over time the tip grows along with the modeling substance, and the border between the gel or acrylic and the natural nail becomes noticeable. In this regard, extended nails require constant correction, which is carried out as needed, usually once every 3-4 weeks. However, in general it depends on the growth rate of your own nails.

If you have decided to get your nails extended, then you should know a few simple rules. Most of them follow the rules for false nails, but there are some extra ones.

It is unacceptable to glue tips if:

  • inner surface the tips or nail plate are not degreased or poorly degreased;
  • your hands are wet;
  • not enough glue;
  • the nail plate or the inner surface of the tip is dirty or covered with dust;
  • the course was completed long-term treatment antibiotics or rubbing a special strengthening agent into the nails.

Most girls regularly get their nails done. The fashion for this type of manicure continues for a long period of time. With such nails, your hands always look well-groomed, and the polish lasts much longer. However, it should be understood that such nails require regular correction. Once every 2 weeks you need to regularly visit the salon to have your nails corrected. Tips can be made of transparent or white material. Nowadays, you can also find a color version on sale, on which a drawing has already been applied. In addition, there are nails according to the degree of curvature.

Acrylic is a material that is used to create long nails. Back in the 60s, dentists used this material for dentures. However, a little later, one of the dentists pleased his wife with artificial acrylic nails.

Over time, acrylic began to be actively used for nail extensions. The main difference between this type of extension is that this technology does not require the use of a UV lamp. This material dries in air in 2-3 seconds.

    • Monomer, the volume of which should not be less than 50 ml;
    • Tips (set of 100 or 50 pieces). A large number of necessary in order to select tips by size;

  2. Apply special remedy, allowing you to soften the cuticle. After this, it should be moved away with a wooden stick. Prepare the nail by filing it with a rough file. The rougher the surface of the nail plate, the better the adhesion of the tip to the real nail. You should lightly press the nail against the natural nail plate, because... pressing hard on the nail file can deform the nails;
  3. It is extremely important to choose the right tips for the width of each nail. While the length can be adjusted, the width cannot be adjusted. In addition, tips should be processed correctly. To do this, the part that is glued to the nail bed must be cut down and scraped out from the inside;
  4. It is necessary to glue artificial nails. The glue should be applied to the prepared part of the nail at an angle of at least 45°. After applying the tip to the nail, hold it for several seconds, pressing it;
  5. Adjust the shape and length using a tip cutter and a nail file;
  6. Next, a primer is applied to the nail plate, which degreases the nail. Make sure that the liquid does not get on the cuticle, and you should not disinfect all the nails at once, because the effect will not last long;
  7. Mix special composition and acrylic powder. Watch the ratio of ingredients. The consistency should be plastic, but you should not pour too much powder, otherwise yellowness may appear;
  8. Apply acrylic to the nail plate, spreading it over the entire nail very quickly. The acrylic ball is distributed using a brush. To create a jacket, you should not use transparent acrylic, but pink and white, which is used to draw a smile;
  9. Excess thickness is removed with a nail file. Treatment begins from the side of the nail, moving to the center. After this, a small file is taken and the surface of the nail plate is processed, completing its correction;
  10. Give your nails smoothness. For this, a buff is most often used. All tools should be operated in one direction only, without pressing too hard.
  11. The procedure is completed by applying a fixative. If it is not there, then a manicure base is applied to the nail.

After completion of the procedure, a nail design is created as desired. The process of extending nails with acrylic onto tips is the easiest way to lengthen your nails. However this method Not suitable for everyone: acrylic smells unpleasant, reminiscent dental office. Acrylic dries very quickly in the air, so all steps must be done promptly, while modeling with gel can be done slowly. Therefore, it is better not to take on acrylic extensions without a trained hand. When using gel extensions, it is also necessary to follow a number of rules. For example, you should calculate the drying time correctly, because... If you overdry or underdry, you risk being left without durable material.

  • Glue;
  • Primer;
  • The gel itself;
  • Tip cutter;
  • UV lamp, which is necessary to dry the gel layer;
  • Brushes for applying gel;
  • Various nail files;
  • Cotton pads that do not leave lint;
  • A product designed to soften cuticles;
  • An orange stick, which is used to push back the cuticle;
  • A liquid used to degrease marigolds;
  • Oil to nourish the cuticle;
  • Liquid for cleaning brushes;
  • Antiseptic;
  • A product designed to remove the sticky layer.

Process of creation

  1. Preparation of nails (manicure, as well as disinfection). Finally apply primer;
  2. Stick the tips on your nails. Give the desired shape and make sawdust;
  3. Apply the gel to the nail, leaving a little space from the cuticle. After distributing the gel over the entire surface of the nail plate, dry it in a UV lamp;
  4. Perform the procedure of applying the gel 2-3 times for maximum strength;
  5. File the finished nail, leveling its surface. There is no need to polish your nails, because... one of the main advantages of this extension is natural shine gel without any special manipulation.
  6. Finally, a design is thought out and executed on the finished nails.

In the world of the evolving beauty industry, new ways to create luxurious nails are emerging. Among girls and ladies, there is a growing demand for the procedure of extension with tips; With minimal costs clients get long and strong nails. Tips are a godsend for those with thin, brittle nails that just don’t want to grow back. The technology is simple, accessible even to those who have no relevant experience. This type of extension can also be done at home; necessary materials can be purchased at your nearest specialty store.

Extension with tips is much simpler than extension with forms, so beginners are recommended to start with it. There are two ways to add extensions to tips: using gel and using acrylic. Both techniques are in demand and have advantages and disadvantages. When applying gel extensions, you will need a manicure lamp: UV, LED or combined. The gel on the nail is adjusted with a brush before going to dry, and will not dry without a lamp. Accordingly, you can take your time to shape your nails. When building with acrylic, there is little time, as it dries quickly. Therefore, there is no room for error. But a lamp is not needed for this procedure - the acrylic dries on its own. Tip extensions in a salon cost an average of 1,500 rubles. Private masters at home are cheaper - from 800 rubles. But technology does not require special education, so it’s quite possible to carry out the procedure at home.

How to prepare your nails

Regardless of the chosen extension method, nail preparation will be the same. Need to:

  • Trim or push back cuticles.
  • Remove the length by removing the free edge of the nail.
  • Sand the surface with a buff or soft file.
  • Materials you will need:

  • tips different sizes;
  • special glue for tips;
  • type cutter;
  • antiseptic;
  • file with abrasiveness (hardness) 180/100 grit.
  • Photo gallery: materials for preparing nails before extensions

    Choose high-quality and elastic tips. To check the tip, squeeze it with your fingers along the edges. A flexible tip will give way, but will return to its original shape if you let it go, while a low-quality tip will show a stripe from the bend or it will even break under pressure. Tips are selected according to the shape and size of the nail, so it is recommended to use a set of 50 or 100 pieces. The more different types you have, the more accurately you will find the ones you need. Materials are distinguished by color: there are transparent, French, colored and patterned. They buy it thinking about the subsequent design, but there is no point in taking tips with a pattern: firstly, it will be covered with a thick layer of gel, and secondly, the pattern will only be on the tip, but not on the natural part of the nail. It is better to use transparent or French-styled ones. A tip cutter is a device similar to wire cutters. They remove excess length of artificial nails. Tips are glued in the following way:

  • Hands are treated with antiseptic.
  • Glue is applied to inner side tip, which is then applied at an angle of 45 degrees to the tip of the nail. The hole of the tip should not be glued above 1/2 of the natural nail and below 1/3 of the nail plate.
  • The tip is smoothly lowered onto the nail, and by pressing the air is squeezed out from under it. You must not allow an air pocket or gap to remain under the tip.
  • The glue dries in 5 seconds, but it is better to hold the tips a little longer.
  • The excess length is removed with a tip cutter, the nail is shaped with a hard file, and the junction of the artificial nail and the natural one is filed off. In this case, the living nail is not affected.
  • When there is no protruding joint left on the nail, the entire surface is sanded to remove the glossy shine.
  • The buff removes the remaining seam.
  • This is how the nails are prepared for further extensions.

    Gel extensions on tips

    There are single-phase, two-phase and three-phase gel extension systems. Each requires an appropriate number of gels. For three-phase, three types of gel are used, for two-phase - two, for single-phase - one type of gel. However, it is more convenient to use one gel for all systems, but if desired, you can resort to different types.

    Types of gels

    There are 4 main types of gels used in extensions:

  • single-phase transparent gel;
  • camouflage gel;
  • color gel;
  • stained glass gel.
  • Single-phase transparent gel is used more often than others in extensions, since it is convenient to use only one type of gel. When building with it, you need to file the nail down to the desired shape and additional design. Camouflage gel is suitable for extensions using a two-phase system; You need to first apply a layer of clear gel, and then one or two layers of camouflage. With this method, you need to file down the nail to the desired shape, but it is not necessary to add a design, since the camouflage gel always has a pinkish tint. Colored gel is used in the design of extended nails, it can be used to create designs, French or cover the entire nail. Stained glass gel also serves for design, is final and self-leveling and has a translucent texture, which allows you to create an unusual manicure.

    Having prepared everything you need, you can begin the extension process:

  • The prepared nail with the glued tip is degreased, the natural part of the nail is lubricated with primer.
  • After the primer has dried, a base layer of gel is applied at a distance of 0.5 mm from the cuticle.
  • The gel is dried in a lamp for the recommended time.
  • Then another layer of gel is applied; before drying, it is advisable to turn the nail over so that the gel is distributed evenly and does not flow down to the side rollers. After drying, this manipulation should be repeated by applying a third layer of gel.
  • The nail is dried, and an even shape of the nail is modeled with a file. The buff is used to level the surface and remove scratches. A special liquid removes dust and remaining sticky layer.
  • Oil is applied to the cuticle and nail and thoroughly rubbed into the surface.
  • This is how gel extensions are applied to tips. When applying the gel, pay attention to the stress zone of the nail - the place where the natural nail comes into contact with the tip. In this area, the gel layer should be the thickest, then the nail will be difficult to break. If desired, create a design using colored and stained glass gels.

  • The brush is lowered into the liquid, then a large ball of acrylic is placed on it.
  • The ball is placed on the nail directly near the cuticle and gradually pulled up to the tip with a brush. Acrylic should not get on the cuticle and side ridges.
  • After uniform distribution On an acrylic nail, wait until it dries. In the open air, the composition dries in seconds.
  • The file is applied to the nail correct form, after which the scratches are removed with a buff and the surface is polished to a glossy shine.
  • Apply cuticle oil and rub into the nail and the area around it.
  • In this way, extensions are carried out on tips using acrylic. When distributing the acrylic ball, the brush is periodically wetted in the activator so that the acrylic does not harden halfway through the process.

    Gel polish for extended nails

    Extension makes nails long and gives the desired shape. Of course, on strong and smooth nails you will want to experiment with the design - a delicate jacket, a romantic gradient, luxurious rhinestones combined with designs, a “marble” pattern or “broken glass”. There are many options. But it is not in every case advisable to apply gel polish to extended nails. After creating artificial nails, the plate becomes quite thick, and gel polish thickens the nail even more. As a result, it looks unnatural. In this situation, do this:

  • When applying gel extensions, you can avoid applying a base layer for gel polish. There is no need for it, since the base is essentially the same gel, and it is already applied to the nail. Subsequent layers of colored gel and finish should be applied as thinly as possible so as not to thicken the nail to an unnatural size.
  • When applying gel polish to acrylic, do not neglect the base layer, but, again, all layers should be applied as thinly as possible. Since acrylic extensions do not thicken the nail as much as gel, a base coat will not make the nail too thick.
  • Otherwise, the design for extended nails is created using the same technology as for natural ones:

  • A base layer is applied to a grease-free nail and dried in a lamp.
  • Colored gel polish is applied and also polymerized in a lamp.
  • The nail is covered with top coat, dried and treated with a sticky layer remover after 20–30 seconds.
  • Design examples

    Painting all your nails the same tone has long gone out of fashion. Nowadays, representatives of the fair sex strive for a unique design. Rhinestones, foil, drawings, stickers, three-dimensional patterns, rivets, and sparkles are used. Nails are painted in different colors, use matte and glossy coatings and their combinations. In summer, fresh ideas with drawings of fruits, flowers, and palm trees are popular. In winter, preference is given to iridescent decorations - rhinestones, sparkles, silver stripes, foil and everything that is associated with snow and ice. Designs such as French, marble and matte are relevant at any time of the year.
