The presence of high-quality alcohol reserves allows the home craftsman to test more than one recipe for tinctures using a variety of raw materials and create his own collection of delicious drinks: bitter, spicy, dessert. Bringing the winter New Year's spirit of citrus fruits and exciting memories of the summer heat, bestowing the tart smell of autumn and the dizzying aroma of awakening spring buds.

Before starting to compose the composition according to the chosen recipe, it is necessary to dilute the alcohol to the strength that the finished tincture should have. The easiest way to do this is using special tables. It is necessary to take into account the decrease in strength due to dilution of alcohol with juice-containing ingredients of the tincture. Then the unpleasant alcohol taste will not spoil the tincture.

After removing the pulp and filtering, the tincture should stand for several days - “rest”. Aging will even out and harmonize the taste and eliminate the alcohol smell.

The pungent smell of alcohol helps to remove the preliminary carbonization of the alcoholic base of the tincture and the addition of some spices - cloves, allspice, coffee.

At home, liquid dosage forms are prepared from plant materials. In this article we will tell you how to properly prepare a decoction, infusion or tincture from various parts of plants.

Infusion prepared from flowers, leaves and herbs (loose parts of plants), from which biologically active substances are easily extracted. If the recipe does not indicate how much raw material to take, then infusions are prepared at a rate of 1:10, i.e., 10 parts by volume of infusion are obtained from one weight part of plant raw materials.

Decoctions prepared from rough parts of plants (roots, rhizomes, bark, woody stems) usually at a rate of 1:10, less often 1:30.

To prepare the indicated dosage forms, plant materials must be crushed: leaves, herbs, flowers - to particles no larger than 5-7 mm (bearberry leaves, lingonberries and other leathery leaves - no more than 1 mm); stems, bark, roots and rhizomes - no more than 3 mm; fruits and seeds - no more than 0.5 mm.

Preparation of infusions and decoctions

The crushed raw materials are placed in an enamel or porcelain vessel and filled with the required amount of distilled (boiled) water, closed with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath with frequent stirring: infusions - 15 minutes, decoctions - 30 minutes. The vessel is removed from the water bath and cooled at room temperature: infusions - at least 45 minutes, and decoctions - no more than 10 minutes. Then filter (the infusions are cooled, and the decoctions are still hot) through a layer of cotton wool (the cotton wool is squeezed out) and diluted with distilled (boiled) water to the volume specified in the recipe. The exception is raw materials containing tannins (bark, serpentine rhizomes, rhizomes and roots, leaves, etc.), they must be filtered immediately after heating.

Infusions and decoctions can be prepared at home without boiling. To do this, the crushed plant material is placed in a thermos, poured with boiling water and left for at least 5-6 hours (usually poured overnight), after which it is filtered and brought with boiled water to the required volume. It is better to prepare infusions and decoctions for one day (they spoil quickly) or store in the refrigerator for no more than 2 days. The infusion cannot be stored in a thermos for more than 1 day. The next day you need to drink the entire prepared infusion in 3 doses (before meals or after meals - indicated in the recipe).

Preparing the tincture

Tinctures are colored liquid alcoholic, aqueous-alcoholic (vodka) extracts from medicinal raw materials, obtained without heating or removing the extractant. Tinctures are prepared with 70% or 40% alcohol. The crushed plant material is placed in a vessel (preferably glass), filled with alcohol in such a way that from 1 part by weight of the crushed material 5 volume parts of the tincture are obtained, and kept at room temperature, stirring, for 6-7 days, then adjusted to the required volume . The tincture should be transparent and have the smell and taste of the plant used.

Today, moonshine brewing is for many not just a source of high-quality and inexpensive alcohol, but also a hobby, an outlet. A favorite activity, doing which you can forget about problems and difficult life situations. Many of those who brew this drink do not drink it “pure”, preferring instead to create tinctures and liqueurs. I am one of these people; making tinctures has been my hobby for more than 6 years. We collect a wide variety of recipes that can be prepared at home with the whole family: we write down, try, experiment. The best drinks that we have come across were published in this blog, because there is no point in hiding them on the shelf, let every lover of moonshine at home enjoy the wonderful drinks, recipes for which you will find in this article.

As an introduction, it is worth saying the following: making such drinks at home is not a quick task; you often have to wait up to six months, and sometimes even longer. In my cellar there are containers marked 2010 and earlier, sometimes it’s even a pity to open them, because every year the drink only gets better, tastier, richer. All this is said to mean that you should not chase quick results; quality products are the fruits of months of infusion. However, for those who like quick infusions, in this article we will look at such options; perhaps someone will like them even more than those infused for years, it’s a matter of taste and personal preference.

Features of moonshine infusions

Fortress

Two types of tinctures are made from moonshine: liqueurs and tinctures themselves. Unlike liqueurs, the latter are not so sweet and much stronger. The amount of alcohol in them is 45% and higher, so tinctures made with strong homemade alcohol are better than with vodka, which has a lower alcohol content.

The basic rule for preparing tinctures is high quality moonshine. It must be well filtered and, preferably, double distilled so that unpleasant impurities and odors do not spoil the taste of the finished product.

As a good option: We select raw materials for the mash that would be in harmony with what is infused. We got moonshine from the first distillation and distilled it through a distillation column.

Sugar level

There are three types of tinctures based on the amount of sugar.

  1. Bitter. They are prepared with herbs or spices, for example, St. John's wort, galangal, oregano, ginger and so on. The sugar level in these drinks does not exceed 2% and only if it is contained in the products used.
  2. Semi-sweet (conditionally sweet). These are infusions of berries, often with the addition of herbs. The amount of sugar in them is related to how sweet the berries are used. But usually its level does not exceed 5-6%
  3. Sweet. This type includes a variety of tinctures to which sugar is added. In them its level is 18-20%

These drinks are usually not made too sweet, like liqueurs. Although a lot depends on taste, overly sugary strong alcohol is heavy and insidious.

General principles for preparing berry infusions

A homemade moonshine tincture will be of high quality if the original product is not only well purified, but also strong.

  • For a herbal drink, its strength should be 50%. If the strength exceeds 60%, then it is recommended to add water.
  • If berries are used, the alcohol content should be higher, preferably 70%. Because the berries will definitely give juice, which will dilute the finished product and reduce its strength.
  • It is better to prepare berry tincture from frozen berries, as they release more juice containing substances necessary for a better taste.
  • To get a drink with a pleasant, slightly caramel flavor, it is recommended to bake some berries, for example, in the oven.
  • You need to infuse moonshine in a warm and, preferably, dark place. In the light its taste will change, and in the warmth it will be ready for consumption faster.
  • The preparation time should be long, at least 2 months, and preferably 3–4.
  • During the infusion process, you should not open the lid, taste, etc. Since this can lead to oxidation of the moonshine and the taste will deteriorate.

Therefore, in order to prepare a tasty and high-quality drink, you need not only accuracy, but also patience.

Tincture recipes

"Klyukovka"

At home - one of the most famous. And not only because this berry is very well suited for preparing alcohol-containing drinks, but also because it contains a lot of vitamins, and the infusion is not only tasty, but also healthy.

The process of preparing Klyukovka is simple.

  • In a three-liter jar (frozen or freshly harvested).
  • Add 100 grams of sugar. Those who like it sweeter can increase its quantity.
  • Fill it to the top with moonshine and place it in a dark place for three months.
  • , drain the mixture through a colander and strain through cheesecloth.

Blackcurrant tincture

The aromatic one cooks faster than the cranberry one, but it also needs to sit for at least half a month. Moreover, it is worth remembering that the longer it infuses, the better and brighter the taste will be.

For a liter of moonshine you will need 1 kg of fresh black currants and 150 grams. Sahara.

Cooking process:

  1. Sort the berries, rinse and put into a jar.
  2. Add sugar and shake well to mix with blackcurrants.
  3. Pour moonshine into a container with berries and leave to infuse.
  4. After two weeks, drain and filter the tincture.

Lemon tincture (early ripening)

Tinctures can be prepared not only by cold method, but also by heat treatment. Heating strong alcohol with berries significantly speeds up the process of saturating it with aroma and taste and reduces the infusion time.

One of these “early ripening” tinctures is lemon. It can be done if guests are expected to arrive, but there is no ready-made wine.

Products:

  • liter of moonshine, strength not lower than 60%;
  • ½ lemon;
  • 70 grams of sugar
  • 4 cloves;

This drink should be prepared in a saucepan with a tight-fitting lid so that the light and volatile alcohol does not evaporate and the strength of the final product does not decrease.

Cooking process:

  1. Cut the lemon into half rings along with the zest.
  2. Place in a saucepan, add sugar, cloves and pour in moonshine.
  3. Then the mixture must be heated, but not to a boil, so that the alcohol does not begin to evaporate. Turn off the heat when the first bubbles just begin to rise from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Close with a tight lid and leave to infuse.
  5. After 12 hours, filter and, after bottling, put in the refrigerator for another couple of hours.

You can make cranberry tincture in a similar way.

Making moonshine tinctures is a fascinating and creative process. During which, you can enjoy not only the consumption and creativity, but also the enthusiastic reviews of guests.

Then let's study recipes for moonshine infusions at home - and there are a great many of them, literally choose to taste. Here are just a few popular options:

  • tangerine tincture on moonshine;
  • lingonberry tincture;
  • cherry brandy;
  • tincture of cardamom or nuts.

The best recipes at home

To prepare homemade moonshine tinctures, we will use different products. For convenience, let's group them, divided into separate blocks. Recipes await us:

  • from dried fruits;
  • on berries;
  • on herbs;
  • on tea;
  • on fresh fruits and something else. Shall we get started?

On dried fruits

Moonshine tincture with dried apricots is one of the simplest. Even a novice wine specialist can prepare it. We take:

  • moonshine (40% strength, you can use vodka instead) – liter;
  • dried apricots (150 g).

After washing the dried fruit, fill it with alcohol and put it in a dark place for 10 days. Shake periodically. After the specified period, filter through cotton wool, pour into a dark bottle, and put in the refrigerator.

Another tincture of moonshine at home - original mixture of raisins and dried apricots. We collect 100 g of raisins and dried apricots.

Fill the dried fruits with vodka or moonshine in an amount of 0.5 liters and leave them in the dark for 14 days. We filter and taste. Not sweet? Add honey – 3 tablespoons. Let the tincture stand for another 4 days. Then you can drink it. Do you feel what a pleasant aroma of dried apricots it exudes?

Date tincture

  • 0.5 kg dates with pits;
  • 0.5 l of vodka (alcohol, moonshine);
  • 2 glasses of water.

We mix everything. We stand for 2 weeks. Add sugar syrup (from a kilogram of sugar and half a liter of water). Only don't keep it for more than a couple of months: date seeds contain a toxic substance, which, when left in the liqueur for a long time, passes into it.

The tincture is useful for diseases of the kidneys and bladder.

Berry infusion

Moonshine (or high-quality vodka) liqueurs turn out excellent if you prepare them with berries. Let's try viburnum tincture first.

Kalina

Viburnum tincture on moonshine requires the use of:

  • viburnum (200 g);
  • pine nuts (20 pieces);
  • pinches of anise seeds;
  • moonshine (0.7 l);
  • a tablespoon of granulated sugar.

Mix everything except sugar. Sprinkle sugar on top of the mixture - about half the specified amount. We insist for 2 weeks. Filtering. We cook sugar syrup from the remaining portion and pour it into our future tincture. Let it sit for a couple more weeks. So preparing a tincture for feasts.

If you are interested healing tinctures on moonshine, then one of them is tincture of viburnum on moonshine, prepared in a slightly different way. Required:

  • viburnum berries (glass);
  • honey (glass);
  • moonshine or alcohol (glass).

Mix the products and leave for 10 days. In order for the drink to be beneficial, it is consumed twice a day, 2 tablespoons. It will bring relief from diseases:

  • stomach;
  • respiratory organs;
  • cardiovascular.

Raspberries

Raspberry tincture with moonshine: pour the berries into the jar 2/3 full and add the moonshine to the “neck”. After a month, drain the infusion, separating it from the berry mass. Filtering. Add sugar syrup to the infusion to make the infusion pleasant to the taste. This drink:

  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Helps fight colds.

Enjoy the infusion with raspberries and don’t get sick!

Cranberry

Here is a recipe for cranberry moonshine tincture. Cranberries make an excellent alcohol-based remedy: this “northern lemon” is rich in vitamin C.

We prepare cranberry tincture with moonshine from:

  • moonshine (1 l);
  • cranberries (200 g);
  • water (150 ml);
  • sugar (2 tbsp).

Mash the berries. Cover them with sugar. Three days of infusion are necessary for the cranberries to produce juice. Now fill it with alcohol. We're waiting a month. Once every 3-4 days we look into the dark cabinet where the future drink is “ripening” and shake the bottle.

Next stage - filtration. If we had not mashed the berries, but instead pierced each one with a needle, the filtering process would have gone quickly - we would have passed it through a layer of gauze 1-2 times.

But mashed berries makes the drink cloudy. Therefore, you will have to filter it several times through a thick layer of cotton wool wrapped in gauze. Did you manage? Let the tincture rest for 3 days in the refrigerator and you can taste it.

Strawberry

Let's try the strawberry liqueur. Just the name of this moonshine liqueur makes you want to drink a glass as soon as possible. But first, a long preparation process. We take:

  • moonshine (liter);
  • strawberries (300 g);
  • granulated sugar (100 g).

After you mix the berries with moonshine, put the mixture in a dark place for 25 days. Shake it every three days. After 25 days have passed, add sugar syrup. You should keep the future drink in the dark for another day, shaking it every 4 hours. Now he's ready. Further storage possible for up to 4 years, only it must first be poured into a clean container.

Cherry

Cherry is a berry that appears in abundance on store shelves at the end of June. This period can be used to prepare cherry liqueur: you don’t have to take frozen berries, since there are plenty of fresh ones.

First, let's prepare a liqueur without sugar and evaluate the result. If it seems tart, add sugar or honey. We take:

  • a clean dark glass jar;
  • berries;
  • moonshine.

Pour the cherries into the jar so that it takes up two-thirds of the space. Next, pour the moonshine there so that it covers the berries and rises 1 cm above them. Having placed the jar in a dark place, we wait for a month and a half, periodically shaking its contents.

Filtering. We are doing a tasting. If you don't like the taste, soften it with sugar syrup. It is made from sand and water. The main thing: the syrup should make up no more than a third of the total volume of the cherry liqueur. Otherwise, you will not have a tincture, but a liqueur. However, if you like sweets, you can create liqueur.

Sea buckthorn

Sea buckthorn tincture is another original alcoholic drink. Sea buckthorn tincture can be both sweet and tart. To prepare sea buckthorn liqueur, take:

  • berries (2.5 kg);
  • moonshine (liter);
  • sugar (2 kg).

Mix the berries and some of the sugar. We wait for the day for the juice to release. Then add all the other ingredients and the remaining sand. We insist for a month. Be sure to filter it.

The second way to prepare moonshine tincture at home from sea buckthorn:

  • berries (0.25 kg);
  • honey (85 g);
  • water (0.6 l);
  • a bottle of moonshine.

The tincture will be unsweetened. It is infused for 18 days, after which it is filtered and drunk. But sea buckthorn tincture with moonshine is very useful: it is used at the first signs of a cold, chronic tonsillitis (to reduce the number of relapses), and bronchitis.

Cowberry

In addition to viburnum, cherry and sea buckthorn tinctures, lingonberry tincture has earned high praise from connoisseurs. The winemaker will need:

  • fresh lingonberries (500 g);
  • vodka or moonshine (liter);
  • granulated sugar (4 tablespoons).

After mixing the ingredients, the future drink should be placed in a dark place. Note to the winemaker: you should first mash the berries. This way the drink will absorb more nutrients. But after a month, you will need to strain the drink through cotton wool and gauze several times to achieve transparency.

If you decide not to mash the berries. the number of filtering procedures will be less. But there are also vitamins in the tincture.

Having finished all the manipulations, pour the tincture into a clean container and put it in the refrigerator for a week.

Rowan

Rowan tincture is good on a cold winter day. The rich, bright color and spicy taste warm and remind you of warm summer. Take a kilogram of rowan and add to the berries:

  • moonshine (1.2 l);
  • sugar (100 g).

To remove bitterness from rowan, before preparing the tincture, the berries are placed in the freezer for a day. Ready? pour the berries into a container, pour in moonshine so that it covers the rowan completely and rises slightly above the layer of berries - about a centimeter. Let it last 4 weeks. Drain the infusion and fill the rowan berries with moonshine again in the same order.

After a week of infusion, mix the first and second infusions. Add sugar syrup and wait another month. Now we can say that the rowan tincture is ready.

A good tincture of chokeberry. To prepare it you will need:

  • berries (1 kg);
  • moonshine (1 l);
  • sugar (up to 500 g - to taste).

When you pour alcohol into the chokeberry, make sure that the moonshine covers the berries by at least 1-1.5 cm. The chokeberry tincture should be kept in a dark place for 2 months. Then it is filtered and tasted.

Hawthorn tincture helps cope with heart ailments and reduces blood pressure. Take 100 g of berries and 500 g of vodka (moonshine). We keep it in the dark for 14 days and filter it. We don’t drink in glasses, but 20 drops per dose! This is the only way the tincture will reveal its beneficial qualities.

How to infuse tea?

Somewhat less known are recipes for moonshine infusions on tea leaves. Moonshine tincture with tea is prepared like this. We take:

  • 2 tablespoons of dry tea (black);
  • 500 ml moonshine;
  • a couple of tablespoons of granulated sugar.

We mix everything. Leave in a dark place for a week. Filtering. In the same way, you can prepare liqueur with hibiscus tea.

Experienced winemakers also use green tea. For 7-10 days they infuse in the dark a mixture of:

  • dry green tea (15 g);
  • sugar (100 g);
  • moonshine (5500 g).

It turns out original.

How to make it with herbs?

Mint

Let's now try the fragrant liqueur - it is prepared with the addition of mint leaves. Recipe for moonshine tincture with mint:

  • 15 mint leaves (dried or fresh);
  • 4 limes;
  • moonshine (bottle);
  • sugar (to taste).

We peel the fruits so that there is no peel left on them, and chop them. Grind the mint and mix with alcohol and sugar.

To enhance the aroma, you can additionally squeeze it into the mixture. juice of one lime. Now cover everything tightly with a lid and put it in a dark place for 3 days. The mint tincture on moonshine will finally “ripen” after it has stood after filtration for another 5 days. Before use, it is filtered again. When used in moderation, the liqueur helps:

  • normalize blood pressure;
  • boost immunity;
  • improve bile secretion.

In addition to mint, horseradish, St. John's wort and barberry are used from herbs and other plants.

Horseradish

Let's see what can be made from horseradish.

Horseradish moonshine tincture is being prepared with honey. This increases the concentration of nutrients and vitamins in it.

Cut a well-washed 10-centimeter piece of horseradish into small pieces. We add to it:

  • moonshine (vodka) – 0.5 l;
  • honey (teaspoon);
  • a couple of tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice.

We insist for a week. Strain twice.

St. John's wort

Medicine with St. John's wort is made from dried raw materials and vodka (moonshine). Method for preparing St. John's wort tincture on moonshine:

  • St. John's wort herb (90 g);
  • sweet clover (2 g);
  • oregano (2 g);
  • moonshine (liter).

St. John's wort tincture is not suitable for feasts. But with its help, many diseases can be treated: cystitis, uncomplicated pyelonephritis, migraine. They drink it three times a day, 50 drops. You can also gargle for pharyngitis and tonsillitis by dissolving the tincture in water.

Barberry

You can also infuse vodka or moonshine with barberry. Both the berries and leaves of the plant are beneficial, so use them in your liqueurs. You can do this: infuse 15 g of leaves per 100 ml of vodka for 2 weeks. Filter, drink 25 drops 3 times a day for 3 weeks or a month. If you use berries, take 20 g of barberry and 100 ml of vodka. Benefits of barberry:

  • normalizes heart rhythm;
  • stimulates the secretion of bile;
  • increases blood clotting.

You should be more careful with the latter quality of berries if you are over 35 years old: from this age the thickness of the blood begins to increase, so try not to use barberry tincture on your own, without consulting a doctor.

Aloe

Almost everyone in their home has aloe growing on their windowsill. Let's make an aloe tincture that will help cleanse blood vessels, strengthen the immune system, and remove toxins. So:

  • aloe juice (500 ml);
  • honey (500 g);
  • moonshine (0.5 l) – mix everything.

We keep the infusion in the dark for a couple of months, shaking it from time to time. You should drink a tablespoon one hour before meals.

Star anise

Star anise is a medicinal plant that helps with coughs and digestive problems. Why not make a tincture out of it? 10 g of dry raw material per 100 ml of vodka is enough. We insist for at least 2 weeks. When coughing, drink 1 teaspoon mixed with a teaspoon of honey.

Cardamom

If you prepare a healing remedy from 2 liters of vodka (moonshine), 200 g of sugar and a couple of tablespoons of cardamom, you will be able to cope with laryngitis and gingivitis without “chemistry”. Cardamom tincture can expel worms from the body, acting gently and gradually.

Filtering. Ready! The plant contains tannins that reduce inflammation, as well as vitamins B, A, C, necessary for the normal functioning of metabolic processes.

Caraway

Caraway tincture is used as a choleretic and anti-inflammatory agent. We take:

  • sugar (200 g).

If you replace sugar with honey, this will increase the healthfulness of the drink. Let it sit for two weeks and drink a teaspoon three times a day.

  • Oak bark;
  • hop cones;
  • dandelion root;
  • vodka (0.6 l).

After mixing everything, wait 2 weeks. After the specified period has expired, add 100 g of cognac and 100 ml of sea buckthorn juice to the drink. We insist for another 14 days. Filtering.

Fruit infusions and liqueurs

We have already tried the tincture of dried apricots and dates, but now let’s take fresh fruits. They can also be used to make an excellent drink for friendly gatherings. Let's start with citrus fruits - make a liqueur based on tangerine peels. The tangerines themselves can be eaten, and the zest can be chopped to remove the white pulp, which imparts bitterness. We prepare:

  • citrus peels (50 g);
  • moonshine or vodka (bottle);
  • sugar (3 teaspoons);
  • tangerine juice (about 100 ml).
Fill the crusts with alcohol and wait a month. Next add sugar and juice. Did it turn out a little muddy? Clarify the liquid using pasteurized milk (75 ml).

Try it yourself and offer apple liqueur to your guests. It’s easy to prepare: whatever, you can always buy apples in the store, at any time of the year!

For apple tincture, select a kilogram of fruit from which the core has been removed. We put them in a three-liter jar. Fill with a liter of vodka. We insist in the dark for 7 days.

Separate the apple mass from the liquid, add syrup made from sugar, and strain. Let it sit for another week.

If you use moonshine instead of vodka, it will also turn out good, but stronger.

Pear liqueur is similar to apple liqueur, but has a unique taste and aroma. You need 2 large pears and a couple of bottles of vodka. We cut the pears into pieces. Put it in a jar. Pour vodka. After a month we filter. Let's taste it.

These are the moonshine liqueurs you can make at home without resorting to complex recipes.

An interesting invention of winemakers is Borodino tincture. Recipe for Borodino tincture with moonshine:

  • coriander (20 g);
  • cumin (10 g);
  • sugar (you will add to taste when the tincture has already been prepared and has stood for the prescribed time in a dark room);
  • moonshine (3 l).

The first thing to do is fry cereal in a frying pan. Lightly brown half and remove, and fry the other half until the color of coffee beans. Mix the ingredients in a jar (except sugar) and add alcohol. The mixture is infused for 3 weeks. We check the readiness like this: a bready aroma should appear. If it is clearly felt, then everything has been done correctly.

We filter the future drink through cheesecloth. At this stage, add sugar syrup or honey. Taste and adjust the amount of sugar as you see fit. Borodino tincture is a drink that is not inferior in strength to vodka and is significantly superior to it in taste.

Propolis

Propolis tincture is a healthy drink that is advisable to keep in the house in case of immune problems. Of course, you cannot drink it like Borodino tincture - it is taken in drops. Prepare a tincture from:

  • propolis (80 g);
  • moonshine (vodka) – 500 ml.

We first keep the propolis in the refrigerator and then in cool water to remove dirt particles. Let's dry it. Fill with vodka and keep in a dark place for 14 days. Filtering. Take 20 drops, dissolved in half a glass of boiled water, half an hour before meals. The intake helps during the period of autumn-spring colds, allowing you to protect yourself from these seasonal troubles.

  • Grind the partitions (3 tbsp.).
  • pour 150 ml of vodka (moonshine).

We insist for 14 days. Filtering. The procedure for taking it for each disease is different, so it is difficult to give general recommendations.

Contraindications and precautions

In any case, keep in mind that the use of tinctures is undesirable for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (in the acute stage), or for liver problems. Those who have been diagnosed with kidney failure (even if signs of the disease have not yet appeared) need to be very careful.

Allergy sufferers should listen carefully to their feelings. Before trying a new tincture (as a medicine or holiday drink), they should consult a doctor and always keep an antihistamine on hand.

Popular ways to obtain tinctures

In the case of this type of tincture, homemade moonshine recipes involve the use of a variety of ingredients. As a rule, fruits and berries are used in the preparation process, although sometimes the drink is made from herbs. First, you can consider recipes for tinctures that require the use of berries and fruits.

Recipe No. 1

One of the most popular drinks of this kind is blackcurrant tincture. To obtain it, you need to mash the berries to a mushy state and pour them into a three-liter bottle. Then you need to add currant leaves to the container and fill the contents with 40 percent moonshine (the jar should be filled to the neck). The container with the liquid is sealed and transferred to a dark place for a month. At the end of the period, the drink is filtered, and then 250 g of sugar is added to it. After this, the liquid is infused for another 3 days, during which it is periodically stirred (so that the sugar dissolves).

Recipe for cherries No. 2

In the second case, you will need to prepare 1 kg of cherries (pre-pitted), 8 g of crushed cinnamon, 50 g of crushed cherry pits, 5 cloves and 1 liter of moonshine. These ingredients must be mixed in a 1.5 liter glass jar, tightly closed and sent to a dark place for 2 weeks. After completion of the mentioned period, filter the tincture. Then add 300 g of sugar to the drink and let the liquid sit for another 10–14 days. At the end of the required time, the product will be ready for use.

Leave this mixture for 30–40 minutes, and then add 2 teaspoons of burnt sugar to the container. Let the liquid infuse for 5–6 days (it must be stirred periodically), then filter and pour into a storage container.
