Rector of NRU MGSU - participant of the torch relay of the Winter Universiade 2019, the Physical Education Parade, the opening of the XXXI and the awarding of the XXX Moscow Student Sports Games

On September 29, in Moscow on the Prestige Alley next to the large sports arena Luzhniki, the Physical Education Parade of the universities of Moscow and the Moscow Region was held, timed to coincide with the celebration of the International Day of University Sports, the opening ceremony of the XXXI Moscow Student Sports Games and the awarding of the Anniversary XXX MSSI. 1500 student-athletes took part in the "Fizkult-parade"!

Students representing their universities and academies solemnly walked along their route dressed in clothes with the symbols of their Alma Mater, proudly waving flags. The parade was led by eight-time champions of the Moscow Student Sports Games, student-athletes of the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering! As the parade approached the stage, the presenter talked about the sports achievements of universities at the Moscow Student Sports Games and, of course, did not forget about the most outstanding and eminent student athletes representing them at competitions! After building the parade at the stage, the presenter invited the chairman of the Moscow regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Russian Student Sports Union" Ponomarev Sergey Anatolyevich, adviser to the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, multiple world kickboxing champion Batu Sergeevich Khasikov, chairman of the commission of the Moscow City Duma on Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy Kirill Vladimirovich Shchitov and Acting First Deputy Head of the Department of Sports of the City of Moscow Alexei Aleksandrovich Kondarantsev! At the end of the solemn speech, Alexei Aleksandrovich declared the XXXI Moscow Student Sports Games open, after which the anthem of the Russian Federation was played and the ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners of the XXX Anniversary Moscow Student Sports Games began. Universities were awarded in several nominations: absolute standings, group standings and the highest sportsmanship. It's no secret that for the eighth year in a row the Construction University has been confidently winning in MSSI. Rector of NRU MGSU Andrey Anatolyevich Volkov personally took part in the award ceremony, and the main trophy was handed over to him by Alexey Aleksandrovich Kondarantsev, Acting First Deputy Head of the Department of Sports of the City of Moscow! Andrey Anatolyevich congratulated all students on the holiday, spoke about the construction of a new ice palace on the territory of MGSU and, in his address to the children and all the assembled spectators, revealed the secret of the success of his university: “Among the smart and active, the active always win, among the winning active, the smartest win , but among the smart ones who won, the sports ones win!”

Meanwhile, as the first part of a large student holiday was coming to an end on the Prestige Alley, just 7.5 kilometers away, Zaryadye Park opened its doors for the Winter Universiade 2019 torch relay ceremony. Andrey Anatolievich Volkov, the rector of the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, who ran the 42nd stage of the relay race, entered. Together with Andrey Anatolyevich in a sports suit of the RSSS-Moscow and the flag of the RSSS, the chairman of the MRO RSSS Ponomarev Sergey Anatolyevich fled. The first among the torchbearers in the capital was the Olympic champion in epee fencing, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Anatolyevich Kolobkov, and the Olympic champion in speed skating, head of the Moscow Sports Department Nikolai Alekseevich Gulyaev delivered the fire to the main stage. During the festive program of the Torch Relay, popular Russian performers Antokha MS, Folk Beat, Kravts and Mot performed their hits for all the guests and residents of Moscow. The performances of the stars were preceded by creative numbers-episodes with the participation of vocalists, actors, dancers, circus performers. Singer Elena Temnikova completed the concert program.

The Moscow team is a bronze medalist of the X All-Russian University Sports Festival! From October 1 to October 6, 2018, the X All-Russian University Sports Festival was held in the city of Kolomna, Moscow Region. About 800 students from 28 regions of Russia took part in the festival. Competitions were held in 3x3 basketball, kettlebell lifting, table tennis, swimming, sambo, chess, speed skating, and the festival program included a quiz, an obstacle course and a TRP all-around. I would like to note that the X All-Russian University Sports Festival was held for the first time on the territory of Moscow, where the participants and guests of the festival were provided with a worthy reception. The Student Sports Festival is a major event before the Winter Universiade, which will be held in March 2019 in Krasnoyarsk.
