How to prepare sleeping pills at home. Dangerous! The Most Powerful, Fast-Acting, and Strongest Sleeping Pills

Drink chamomile tea. Chamomile is a natural herbal relaxant that helps relax muscles and relieve stress-related symptoms such as headaches and indigestion. Chamomile contains a flavonoid called apigenin, which is responsible for its relaxing properties. This makes chamomile a great herbal sleep aid as it helps to relax all your muscles and calm your mind before bed.

  • To make chamomile tea, add a tablespoon of chamomile flowers to a small pot of water and bring to a boil. Strain the flowers and let the decoction cool slightly before drinking. Try to drink chamomile tea 2 or 3 times a day.
  • Breathe in the scent of lavender. Lavender is an excellent herbal sleep aid, two ingredients to thank for that are linalyl acetate and linalool. Linalyl acetate is an anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety substance that works as a sedative, while linalool helps relieve stress. You can reap the benefits of lavender as a sedative just by inhaling its scent. Here are some ways to do it:

    • Pour hot water into a large saucepan and add a couple of drops of lavender oil to it. Lean your face above the water and inhale the fragrant lavender vapors.
    • Alternatively, you can add 10 drops of lavender oil to your bath, or sprinkle some on a cloth and place it under your pillow when you go to sleep.
  • Drink passion flower water. Passionflower is one of the safest herbs to use in high doses to help you fall asleep. It helps to cope with insomnia caused by hard work, mental stress and mental fatigue.

    • To make passion flower water, add a teaspoon of passion flower leaves to a cup of boiling water and let it steep for a few minutes. Strain it, let it cool, and drink three times a day.
    • The beneficial properties of passion flower water are due to harmine, a compound in passion flower that can induce mild euphoria and sleep.
  • Try using valerian to calm your nerves. Valerian has an excellent sedative effect for calming your nerves, relaxing your muscles and helping you fall asleep. These sedative properties are due to a chemical compound called valepotriate. The herb has no side effects, and it works well for those who suffer from chronic insomnia.

    • Unfortunately, valerian tea can be quite unpleasant due to its strong smell and taste. Luckily, you can take advantage of the calming properties of valerian through tinctures and capsules.
    • For best results, add 30 to 60 drops of valerian tincture to a glass of hot water and drink it before bed.
  • Prepare tea with lemon balm. Lemon balm has been used since the Middle Ages as a stress reliever and sleep aid. The sedative properties of the essential oils in Lemon Balm help to relax your muscles, improving your mood and calming your mind.

    • Make lemon mint tea by adding a couple of fresh mint leaves to a cup of hot water. Infuse it for about 10 minutes and drink it before you go to bed.
  • Place a sachet of hops under your pillow. For those who suffer from insomnia during their menstrual cycle, common hops are an excellent natural sleep aid. Hops balance hormone levels, making you feel more comfortable both physically and mentally.

    • To take advantage of the hops, fill a sachet with herb and place it under your pillow before bed.
    • Alternatively, you can add a tablespoon of hops to a cup of boiling water and let it steep for a few minutes. Strain and drink it two or three times a day to end sleepless nights.
  • Use basil to help you sleep better at night. Basil helps relieve anxiety and tension, and it also helps with indigestion. Basil contains methyl cinnamate (which helps prevent infection and bacterial infections) and linalool, which helps fight stress.

    • If your insomnia is related (at least in part) to any medical condition, basil can be an effective remedy. Since this plant is very common, all you need to get some sleep is to raid your buffet.
    • Make basil tea by steeping basil leaves in water, or add fresh basil leaves to Mediterranean style salads.
  • Use ashwagandha powder to help you fall asleep. Ashwagandha is an antipyretic (reducing fever) and anti-inflammatory. Withanolides, a group of alkaloids in ashwagandha, help to calm the central nervous system by producing a calming effect and promote relief from symptoms caused by stress. Ashwagandha also delays the release of cortisol, the stress hormone.

    • You can apply the powdered form of ashwagandha to make tea. Boil a cup of water and add half a teaspoon of ashwagandha powder to it. Boil this over low heat for about 10 minutes. Drink twice a day.
  • Eat feverfew leaves to deal with anxiety caused by fever. Feverfew contains parthenolide, a chemical that is effective in treating migraines. Since it can reduce fever and pain caused by it, menstrual and other types of pain, feverfew has a special place among sleeping herbs.

    • You can chew two or three leaves of pyrethrum for effective results.
  • Lack of sleep is a characteristic phenomenon of modern life filled with stress and depression. After a night without sleep, a person experiences lethargy, lethargy, weakness, fatigue. occurs for a variety of reasons. This can be chronic overwork at work, a long absence of vacation, difficult life circumstances associated with the loss of a loved one, excessive overexcitation, and much more. Smoking and alcohol are also actively involved in the process of sleep disturbance.

In such cases, some people turn to drugs (, tranquilizers) for help, others try to use the best folk sleeping pills. As for medications, they have a very strong effect. Drinking 2-3 tablespoons of this drug before bedtime, plus a flavored sachet placed next to the pillow, will ensure a sound and healthy sleep.

Some prefer to dilute a glass of liquid honey and 3 liters of motherwort infusion in the bath. I couldn't sleep today, and I decided to write an article about insomnia. We all know how important sleep is in our lives. Sleep is both health, and good mood, and a fresh appearance.

And we all know what insomnia is. You toss and turn, various thoughts come into your head, and the alarm clock counts down the last hours before you have to jump up and run to work.

Then we lie down, count the crows and think only about how to fall asleep as soon as possible. And sleeping pills can help. There are a great many of them - prescription and over-the-counter sleeping pills, for the elderly and for children, chemical and homeopathic.

    How to choose sleeping pills

The choice of sleeping pills is a responsible matter. In most cases, in order to choose the right one, you need to consult a doctor. Like any medication, it has its contraindications and side effects.

But if insomnia does not always torment you, but from time to time, then of course there is not much point in going to the doctor. For such cases, I will tell you which sleeping pills should be added to your first aid kit. Many of them can be bought without a prescription in pharmacies.

    Causes of insomnia

There are not so many reasons.

    • Psychological stress, especially shortly before sleep.

For example, I do not fall asleep well if I went to some large shopping center in the evening. My brain keeps thinking about shopping and imagining sparkling storefronts. I also have trouble falling asleep if I've been watching TV all evening.

    • Taking medications or products that disrupt the sleep process. For example, coffee or multivitamins with a loading dose of ascorbic acid before going to bed.
    • Violation of the daily routine, especially if you have night shifts.
    • Cough, pain that keeps you awake
    • Syndromes that keep you awake. For example, restless legs syndrome or sleep apnea (a person suffocates when falling asleep).
    • Psychological or mental disorders. For example, depression, schizophrenia, etc.

Most of the causes that disturb sleep are easily eliminated. For example, I now go to shopping centers in the morning, and at 3-4 o'clock in the afternoon I am already at home. An hour before bedtime, I turn off the TV and go for a walk with the dog.

But it happens that the cause of insomnia is difficult or impossible to eliminate. You won't quit a good job if you have night shifts. In such cases, various sleeping pills come to the rescue.

    Types of sleeping pills

Sleeping pills are a group of drugs that promote the onset or continuation of sleep of sufficient depth and duration.
They can be divided into 3 groups according to the duration of action.

    • Group 1 - short-acting (up to 5 hours). Examples, Lorazepam, Oxazepam.
    • Group 2 - medium action (from 5 to 8 hours). The best known is Temazepam.
    • Group 3 - long-acting (more than 8 hours). The most famous Nitrazepam.

Such a classification will allow you to choose a drug that will give the desired effect.

    • If you can't fall asleep, then a light, short-acting remedy will work for you.
    • If you often wake up, then a medium-acting remedy is suitable.
    • And if you fall asleep and sleep normally, but wake up early and can't get back to sleep, then you need a long-acting drug.

I stopped at this classification for a reason, but so that you understand that when you see a doctor, you need to clearly articulate what kind of sleep problem you have. You can't fall asleep or wake up early and only get 4 hours of sleep a night. Only then will the doctor be able to choose the right remedy for you.

Over-the-counter drugs if insomnia is not a frequent visitor

Earlier, I already told you what sleep phase disturbances are - someone cannot fall asleep, someone falls asleep easily, but wakes up early, someone has superficial, shallow sleep and wakes up several times a night. Different types of drugs are suitable for each type of insomnia.

    For long sleep

If you have an early morning awakening, after which you cannot fall asleep, then I recommend leaving your choice on Zopiclone, Zalpidem, Bromivasol.

These are harmless drugs that do not cause addiction. Sleeping pills without prescription, not addictive.

    For deep sleep

If you often wake up at night or are unable to fall asleep deeply, then your choice is Melatonin (trade name - Melaxen), Doxylamine, Chloral hydrate, Circadin, Melarena.

Chloral hydrate gives the fastest effect, although it quickly becomes addictive and then requires an increase in dose.

If you need a remedy for the long term, then your choice is Doxylamine. It is not addictive.

    For fast sleep

Donormil and Reslip will put you to sleep 15-20 minutes after taking it. Melarena and Circadin will act in 30-50 minutes.

These are light sleeping pills, sold without prescriptions in pharmacies, and will be appropriate in any home first aid kit - in case someone from the family cannot fall asleep for a long time.

A very good soft effect of falling asleep is given by taking Melaxen. From the moment of reception to the moment of falling asleep, 40-45 minutes pass.

Melaxen is effective for 5-8 days of continuous use, then the effectiveness is lost, you need to take a break or increase the dose. After a 2-3 week break, its effectiveness is restored.

Despite the fact that this Melaxen is created on the basis of the pineal gland hormone, it does not lead to such side effects as the use of hormonal drugs.

In addition, one should not underestimate the effect of taking such seemingly ordinary means as Valocordin, Valoserdin, Corvalol, Valerian etc. Valocordin - a strong sleeping pill in drops, is released without prescriptions.

These drugs are not herbal, they are pharmaceuticals based on various chemical compounds.

    Herbal preparations

There are herbal preparations. They have a mild hypnotic and sedative effect, promote rapid falling asleep. You know them very well from advertising. it Persen, Novopassit, Dormiplant.

You can also prepare sleeping pills from herbs at home. I will talk about this in detail in the next article.

Strong sleeping pills available without a prescription

If you have tried everything, but nothing helps, and you need a strong sleeping pill without a prescription, then buy Corvalol at the pharmacy:

    • 45 drops of Corvalol due to the content of Phenobarbital can put anyone to sleep. Phenobarbital is an ingredient in many medicines used to treat people who are highly irritable. Only it is contained there in greater concentration. However, in 45 drops of Corvalol, its concentration will be quite enough to fall asleep soundly. Contraindication - low blood pressure.
    • If you have low blood pressure and you can't sleep at all, then try drinking 2 tablets of Melaxen at once at night. Should help.
    • Here are such strong sleeping pills without prescriptions - the list turned out to be small. But I hope you won’t need them either if you read the article to the end and use the general recommendations for falling asleep quickly in the evenings.

    If nothing helps at all

If nothing helps at all, then you should go to the doctor and prescribe Aminazin. Aminazin gives out only by prescription.

    • 1 dragee of Aminazine will provide sound sleep for 12-14 hours. This is a neuroleptic - it greatly calms the nervous system, you relax and fall asleep. During those 12-14 hours, you can get up and drink water a couple of times (the drug makes you thirsty), but you won't be back awake before 12 hours. This is the strongest non-prescription sleeping pill.

Don't expect to be able to get up 6 hours after taking Aminazine and go to work, so only take it when you have 12 hours of sleep to spare. You can’t constantly fall asleep with Aminazin - this is a one-time ambulance for a person who has not been able to sleep for a couple of days. Contraindication - low blood pressure.

    From personal experience:

If insomnia is your frequent guest, then you need to seriously take up the overall harmonization of your condition. Insomnia is a signal from your subconscious that something is bothering you on a mental level, you live in an emotion of anxiety and dissatisfaction.

Of course, it is easier for a modern person, including me, to take a pill for sleep than to do light yoga (meditative yoga) by candlelight for half an hour before bedtime, to calm the nerves and thoughts. Light physical activity, calm music will help to harmonize energies, calm down.

This is a very simple recipe for good sleep and general wellness. If you do light yoga every day for 30 minutes before going to bed, then in a couple of months you will become a much more harmonious person, the clamps will be removed, you will become a calmer and more joyful person.

But how to force yourself to turn off the TV every day half an hour before bedtime, light candles and do yoga, even if it’s easy? So I force myself to go to work every day, not life, but one continuous violence against myself.

And here you need to understand one simple thing, you need to replace the energy of violence against yourself with the energy of inspiration. Harmonious people live by inspiration, while the rest “tear their veins”.

I learned this simple truth at the training of Elizaveta Babanova. But it's not enough to learn, you still need to implement it into your life, and Elizabeth has helped many people to let this energy into their lives. Real progress has become noticeable in all spheres of life. It is much easier for me to fall asleep and wake up early in the morning, I began to relate to stressful situations more calmly, and I have more energy and desire to work and take care of my health.

Now I do not have to force myself to do something, I do my work and my health with pleasure and enthusiasm. And I do yoga before going to bed easily, every day and with pleasure, I fall asleep quickly, get enough sleep and wake up easily in the morning. In general, I highly recommend, this is a completely different level of perception of life!

Make time and watch the video of Elizaveta Babanova link.

Drugs for the treatment of severe insomnia

Sometimes people have very severe forms of insomnia, they do not sleep for 3-4 days in a row. No over-the-counter remedies and herbs help.

People are exhausted, they cannot work normally and respond adequately, all their desires come down to one thing - to finally fall asleep.

The reasons can be, as I said, psychological disorders, illnesses, severe depression, etc.

In this case, you should definitely consult a doctor. There are many drugs that can help such people, even in very difficult situations. I will tell you about the three groups of the most powerful drugs for insomnia.

    • The first group - barbiturates - a large group of drugs in the name of which there is barbital. They are sold by prescription and taken only when prescribed by a doctor, as they can cause respiratory problems. These are the most powerful sleeping pills, they will allow you to fall asleep even with the most severe insomnia.
    • Second - barbiturates in combination with other drugs such as belladonna. Such a potent sleeping pill is not sold without prescriptions. The disadvantage of all barbiturates is that when taking them, you are very likely to have very vivid dreams, more often nightmares.
    • Third - benzodiazepine derivatives- also strictly prescription drugs. They are second in effectiveness after barbiturates. They also help to fall asleep with very severe insomnia, sleep from them will be deep without dreams, but they also have a minus - they are much more addictive than barbiturates.

In total, there are about 10 groups of drugs. Most of them are prescribed only by a doctor, and they will never be sold to you without a prescription.

Most of these medicines are used in hospital settings.

Many of them, even those that do not contain narcotic components, become addictive over time and require large doses to achieve the desired effect.

As you can see, prescription sleeping pills are a double-edged sword. That is why prescription sleeping pills are not always and not for everyone. But only in cases where the causes of insomnia are not identified or cannot be eliminated.

In some cases, insomnia can be caused by oncological diseases, here pain is added to them. But the selection of drugs for such patients, as well as for patients with mental disorders, is a separate conversation.

If usually sleeping pills are selected by a therapist, then for such patients they are selected by a specialized doctor - an oncologist, neurologist or psychotherapist.

I hope that none of my readers will ever need such strong sleeping pills.

And before you go to the pharmacy, think about changing your daily routine a little. For example, getting up early in the morning. Maybe it’s like yoga to strengthen the nervous system, or turn off the TV at least an hour before bedtime so that you don’t have to wonder where this world is heading in bed?

If this does not help, then try taking a couple of weeks of infusions of sedative herbs. They have a milder hypnotic and restorative effect. You can read more about this in the article on.

Have a good night, good morning and an active day!

Because of the harmful effects, sleeping pills are sold by prescription in many countries. Let's see how it can be replaced with a more harmless one.

Unfortunately, melaxen has a side effect - morning sleepiness, but a real relief from chronic insomnia can cross out this drawback.

    3. Herbs.

Suitable valerian (the best option), lemon balm, mint, chamomile, motherwort, hawthorn, oregano, thyme. One of these herbs must be poured with boiling water in a proportion of 5 g per 200 ml, unless otherwise indicated in the instructions. Drink within 30 min. before sleep.

A good sleeping pill is cyanosis. It is brewed in proportions of 1 tbsp. l. to a glass of boiling water. Take 1 tbsp. l. in 30 min. before sleep.

If insomnia is associated with a nervous breakdown, then all of the above herbs, with the exception of thyme, should be taken 3 times a day.

    4. Aromatic pillows.

You can buy them or make your own. To do this, take a thin pillowcase, for example, from linen, cambric or chintz. Pour there in equal proportions the most crushed and dried herbs: valerian, yarrow, sage, mint, lavender.

    5. Honey + apple cider vinegar

3 art. l. mix honey with 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar. Take 2 tsp. just before bed or during the night when you wake up.

Also effective for falling asleep 1 tsp. honey in combination with chamomile (5 gr. per 200 ml) or a glass of milk.

    6. Tincture of valerian, Zelenin or Corvalol.

Dosage: number of drops = age. Dilute 1:10 with water.

Do not use Corvalol without the permission of a doctor and under reduced pressure.
