Similar plants in action

Some medicinal plants have properties similar to meadow clover. You can replace it, for example, with herbal tea sold in a pharmacy.

This tool contains several varieties of herbs, so it is universal in use. When using other plants for medicinal purposes, it is important to take into account possible contraindications, which are individual for each herb.

Similar in action plants are the following herbs:

  • elecampane;
  • anise;
  • coltsfoot;
  • succession;
  • lungwort;
  • cherry blossoms;
  • wild rosemary;
  • chamomile;
  • calendula;
  • rose hip;
  • blue cornflower.

Clover, whose beneficial properties and contraindications are due to the presence of flavonoids and phytoestrogens in its composition, is recommended as an active food supplement for certain hormonal disorders associated with the onset of menopause. If stored improperly, medicinal raw materials can cause irreparable harm to health. Flowers of red and white clover are used in folk medicine for the treatment of bronchi and diseases of the internal female genital organs located in the pelvic area. Meadow clover is used by pharmaceutical factories for the preparation of various forms and is recommended by official medicine for hormonal disorders.

Why the plant is useful

Meadow clover is used more frequently than white creeping clover, which has the same beneficial ingredients but in smaller amounts. Fresh juice of white clover is used in folk medicine externally for the treatment of skin diseases, wounds, burns. It helps in the treatment of rheumatic symptoms and will help stop bleeding.

In red clover, the largest number of active ingredients is in the stems and roots, but for home treatment, if you turn to folk practice, flowers with upper leaves are collected. The aerial part of the plant and the root contain:

  • essential oil;
  • isoflavones;
  • carotene;
  • coumarins;
  • trace elements;
  • various vitamins;
  • saponins;
  • steroids;
  • carbohydrates;
  • flavonoids;
  • phenolcarboxylic acids;
  • quinones.

The benefits of red clover for the female body are explained by the presence of four hormone-like substances in it, which slow down the aging process. With individual intolerance, taking the extract can be harmful due to the large amount of phytohormones.

Preparations made on the basis of this herb can also be used by men. The benefit of the extract is that it suppresses the production of testosterone in adolescents suffering from oily seborrhea and acne vulgaris. Taking clover preparations is useful for young men, in whom an excess of male hormone leads to persistent acne and early baldness.

Any kind of clover (both red and white) folk healers recommend using to improve the body. Infusion of flowers and upper leaves helps:

  • cleanse the body after intoxication with chemicals;
  • improve protective functions;
  • make up for the lack of nutrients in a poor diet;
  • relieve an acute allergic reaction;
  • improve the condition of the skin with dermatitis, psoriasis and seborrhea;
  • remove excess water from cells and relieve puffiness;
  • reduce the number of relapses in asthma;
  • improve health in menopause.

Although mainstream medicine considers both red clover and white clover to have minimal health benefits and potential harm, women use the herb to reduce menopausal symptoms and experience significant relief from herbal medicine.

When should the plant be used?

White clover in official medicine is not recommended for use, and studies have not been conducted with it. Observations on experimental groups made it possible to find out when you can get a definite benefit from taking red clover extract. The medicinal plant is recommended for:

  • Parkinson's disease;
  • osteoporosis;
  • the risk of cardiovascular complications;
  • liming vessels;
  • problems with visual-spatial function;
  • menopause;
  • bronchial disease.

Extracts prepared at home can be taken up to six months. Such a long-term treatment is recommended if there are such pathological conditions of the body as precancerous diseases of the breast, excessive sweating and nervousness that accompany menopause.

Despite the presence of a large amount of hormone-like substances in the plant, clover extract will be useless for female infertility. Active ingredients cannot stimulate the production of follicle-stimulating and luteinizing hormones.

Can weed be harmful to health?

Clover extract can harm pregnant women by causing a threatened miscarriage. Nursing mothers, using an infusion of herbs rich in phytoestrogens, can harm the baby, causing long-term disturbances in the functioning of the internal secretion organs.

Official medicine warns that uncontrolled use of clover preparations for a long time in large volumes can cause heavy bleeding.

The active component in the composition of the plant - coumarin - has the ability to greatly thin the blood, preventing the formation of platelets. This effect of the active substance can be dangerous with weak blood vessels and high blood pressure, which clover is not able to regulate.

The ability to greatly thin the blood has only dry crushed raw materials, which were prepared with violations of technology. If, during drying, the flowers and leaves of the plant were affected by microscopic mold fungi, then the resulting raw material will contain poisonous toxins, which, in combination with coumarin, greatly thin the blood. In order not to cause such harm to the body, it is recommended to use only fresh flowers and leaves for the preparation of various forms.

To get the expected benefit from the extract of red or white clover, you need to collect 100 inflorescences and pour 0.5 liters of boiling water over them. This amount is enough to get a daily dose of phytoestrogens. Treatment with an extract from fresh flowers can be continued as long as this plant blooms in the meadow.

For those who do not have the opportunity to constantly collect raw materials for daily consumption, we can recommend making an alcohol tincture by filling a glass vessel with flowers and filling them with vodka. To obtain safe dry raw materials, you need to pick clover flowers in dry weather and dry them in an oven at a temperature of 60 ° C. Store medicinal raw materials in glass jars for one year.

Red clover: healing properties from "bad" cholesterol

The so-called "bad" cholesterol accumulates on the walls of blood vessels, forming plaques, which ultimately leads to circulatory disorders. At the same time, the permeability of cell membranes deteriorates, metabolic processes at the cellular level slow down, and “starvation” occurs, because Nutrients due to cholesterol plaques do not reach their destinations. All this negatively affects the state of blood vessels and can lead to the development of a stroke or heart attack. The medicinal properties of red clover cleanse the body of cholesterol and help restore capillary circulation due to the high concentration of flavonoids (up to 5%).

For the treatment of atherosclerosis and getting rid of tinnitus, it is recommended to fill a jar with red clover flowers, fill the container to the top with moonshine, stand for 21 days and drink 1 tsp. for 1.5 months half an hour before meals 3 times a day.

Red clover: medicinal properties and contraindications for women

The substances that make up the plant can stop the growth of malignant tumors. It is especially effective to use the plant for the treatment of breast cancer. In order to prevent the disease, it is necessary to regularly visit a gynecologist or mammologist in a clinic. Medicinal properties of red clover in menopause in women

The chemical composition of red clover contains a large amount of calcium, so it is recommended to take it to pre-menopausal women in order to prevent the development of osteoporosis. At the same time, the presence of a large amount of estrogen hormones in the plant helps to painlessly “enter” menopause without the manifestations characteristic of this period: hot flashes, hypertension, uterine bleeding, etc.

Calms the nervous system and reduces high-frequency tension. A sedative drink made from 100 clover heads, steamed with 500 ml of boiling water. It is advisable to boil the infusion for 5 minutes, leave for about 3 hours and drink a little during the day.

The healing properties of red clover in menopause are due to the fact that the plant helps to maintain the “habitual” hormonal background of a woman due to natural estrogens.

For the treatment of leucorrhea and vulvovaginitis without the use of aggressive pharmaceuticals, sitz baths based on red clover are recommended.

To prepare an anti-inflammatory solution 1 tbsp. l. flowers are poured into a thermos, pour 250 ml of boiling water and insist for at least 6 hours. For baths, it is desirable to add 250 ml of warm water to the resulting infusion. Such procedures are also effective in the treatment of hemorrhoids during an exacerbation of the disease.

The chemical composition of clover contains bioquinone and the notorious coenzyme Q10, which correct the bioenergetic processes occurring at the cellular level. These substances help prolong the youthfulness of the body, stimulate the production of natural collagen, which helps restore skin elasticity and prevent the appearance of wrinkles.

You can get rid of age spots that appear more and more on the skin of the face with age if you take a drink prepared according to this recipe for a week:

3 tsp crushed clover inflorescences pour 200 ml of boiling water, boil for 5 minutes, drink after cooling 100 ml three times a day. Warm compresses from crushed clover help to improve complexion and regenerate epidermal cells.

Contraindications

Along with the healing properties of red clover, there are contraindications for women. So, you can not take decoctions based on this herb during pregnancy. Clover is not recommended as a medicinal plant for women suffering from thrombophlebitis and varicose veins. It is absolutely contraindicated to take stables for those who have recently had a stroke or heart attack.

Tincture: preparation and use

The youth of the body directly depends on the condition of the arteries and blood vessels. If they are “clogged” with sclerotic plaques, then the cells receive less nutrients and oxygen. As a result, atherosclerosis develops, when the walls of the arteries thicken and lose their elasticity due to cholesterol plaque, they cannot fully perform their functions. The disease has a chronic course, traditional medicine most often recommends supportive therapy. Along with medications, you can try to cleanse the vessels of fatty deposits with the help of alcohol tincture of red clover.

To comply with the recipe, you must:

  1. fill a liter jar with crushed clover inflorescences (dry or fresh);
  2. thoroughly “tamp down” the resulting flower mass;
  3. add purified vodka (preferably premium);
  4. carefully close the container, shake it up and put it in a cupboard;
  5. for 14 days, shake daily to evenly mix the contents, and then strain;
  6. take 1 time per day half an hour before any of the meals, 1 tbsp. l., after diluting the tincture in ¼ cup of boiled water;
  7. endure a 30-day course, then a 10-day break, and a fixing monthly marathon.

The use of red clover tincture on vodka is especially effective at the initial stage of the disease, when the walls of the arteries have not atrophied. Taking the drug, you can prevent the progression of atherosclerosis and get rid of the manifestations associated with this disease, such as dizziness and tinnitus. The tincture is also useful for the elderly because it raises the immune system and tones the body.

Along with medicinal properties, red clover also has contraindications: pregnancy, lactation, the rehabilitation period after a stroke or heart attack, a tendency to reduced blood clotting.

All health!

With love, Irina Lirnetskaya

As a child, we called it the affectionate word "porridge", you will find a plant everywhere - in meadows, forest edges or along roads. You guessed it right, we are talking about red clover, medicinal properties and contraindications for the health of the body of women and men with atherosclerosis.

The Latin name for clover is trifolium, which literally means shamrock. In almost all types of plants, and there are more than 200 of them, the leaf always consists of three parts - small leaves.

The amazing structure of the leaf has made it a symbol in many countries. For example, in Belarus, the flower is present on the state emblem, it is revered by the Irish - there St. Patrick, using the example of a leaf, explained the dogmas of the Holy Trinity.

In Europe, the shamrock is found in ornaments, jewelry, embroidery, architecture, especially in Gothic. There, back in antiquity, it was believed that finding a four-leaf clover leaf was good luck and happiness.

Interesting: it was the clover leaf that gave the name to one of the card suits - clubs. The French clover is a club.

The plant has neat inflorescences of lilac and pink. The leaves of the grass are triple, in the center they have a characteristic light pattern that exactly repeats the shape of the leaf. Sometimes clover is confused with meadow clover, these are slightly different plants, although they are the closest relatives, and they have almost the same useful properties.

Beekeepers call this flower "bee honey", so bees love it - it is a good honey plant. Beekeepers say that from a hectare of a sown field, bees can collect about a centner of honey.

Did you know that the behavior of clover can tell the weather. For example, before the rain, the leaves of the plant straighten. And if they leaned over and got close, then expect bad weather.

Vodka tincture has the most pronounced medicinal properties, with the same contraindications as decoction and water infusion.

Clover with atherosclerosis

In folk medicine, red clover is used in the treatment and prevention of atherosclerosis. Healers claim that the plant has the ability to remove bad cholesterol from the body, make blood vessels more elastic.

To do this, make a medicinal infusion: pour 2 large spoons of raw materials with a glass of boiling water and leave for a couple of hours under a closed lid. Drink a course of 21 days, be sure to take two tablespoons before meals.

But the treatment will be even more effective if you use vodka tincture - this will help cleanse the vessels. Put a glass of flowers in a liter jar and fill with vodka to the very top. Leave in a dark place for two weeks, and then drink a spoonful in the morning.

Clover for women

The healing properties of red meadow clover can provide invaluable assistance to the fragile female body - the plant is rightfully considered one of the female herbs, like the one I wrote about in one of my articles.

Infusions and decoctions, alcohol tincture is used in the treatment of:

  • Diseases of the ovaries, inflammation of the fallopian tubes.
  • For douching with genital infections.
  • To alleviate the condition with menopause.
  • Scientists who have studied the healing properties of red clover for women confirm that with its help, “female” types of cancer that affect the mammary glands and ovaries are quite successfully treated.

But that's not all! It turns out that the secret of eternal youth is literally under our feet.

Contraindications for use

With all the advantages and healing properties of meadow red clover, there are contraindications to its use, which traditional healers always warn about.

  • Be careful when using medicinal products with a plant for the first time - it can cause an allergic reaction in the body.
  • It is not necessary to carry out treatment during pregnancy or during breastfeeding.
  • Limit the use of herbal remedies for chronic digestive system disease.
  • You can not be treated after a recent heart attack or stroke.
  • A contraindication to the use is also low blood clotting.
  • Refuse to use tinctures for diarrhea.

How and when to collect

To get the maximum benefit from the use of the treatment, it is important to follow some rules when harvesting and storing it. If you are inexperienced and unsure of yourself, get the herb from a pharmacy.

  1. The plant blooms all the warm season - from May to September, but the best time for harvesting is the middle of summer.
  2. Never collect grass near enterprises and roads - it does not have healing properties. For collection, choose dry and sunny weather.
  3. For harvesting, the tops of the stems with flowers and leaves are torn off during the flowering of the plant. Flowers without already dried petals have healing properties.
  4. The ideal place for drying is in the shade of a canopy outside, in a ventilated place. Many use an electric dryer for this purpose (dry at 60 degrees, not higher).
  5. Do not allow the raw material to dry out, as it can lose many useful and medicinal properties. It is best to store dried raw materials in a closed glass container, no longer than a year.

Here is such a useful plant growing in our meadows. I have selected an informative video for you about the medicinal properties and contraindications of red clover, I hope that this information will be of interest to you. With love… Galina Nekrasova.
