Biologically active food supplements, for the most part, are still skeptical of them in Russia, and maybe not in vain. Rospotrebnadzor banned the sale of some dietary supplements. There are 26 drugs on the list.
26 titles. This list contains only biologically active food supplements. Among them, for example, Troychatka forte produced by Alina Pharma LLC, Phytocomplex Gepar Phyto produced by Gulfstream Company LLC, Artemisin-S manufactured by Artlife LLC. The full list can be viewed on our website. The sale of these drugs was banned by the Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare. Rospotrebnadzor canceled the evidence of their state registration, due to the fact that these dietary supplements contain components prohibited for use as part of biologically active food supplements. The requirements are constantly being reviewed, which means that the list of components prohibited for the production of dietary supplements is changing. Novokuznetsk pharmacies have already received an official letter.

Long-term treatment with dietary supplements certainly requires a doctor's consultation, and, say, taking multivitamin preparations for a short course of up to a month does not require a doctor's consultation.

In May, the most popular products disappeared from pharmacies - Sealex Forte and Ali Caps. Rospotrebnadzor banned them from selling. However, buyers switched to dietary supplements-clones "Sealex forte plus" and "Ali caps plus".
"Sealex forte" and "Ali caps" at the beginning of 2016 led the rating of dietary supplements (biologically active additives) to increase potency. According to the agency DSM Group, which monitors sales in pharmacies, these two supplements occupied 65% of the market (if you count in money).
But in May, the manufacturer - the company "RIA Panda" - started having problems. By order of Rospotrebnadzor from pharmacies. The department reported that the decision was made after the Consumer Rights Protection Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan withdrew the state registration of both dietary supplements. It was on the basis of these documents that the funds were sold on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, including Russia.
The reason was the presence of tadalafil in these dietary supplements, a substance that is prohibited from being used in dietary supplements (it can be used, for example, in the manufacture of prescription drugs). The management of "RIA Panda" what is happening is "the intrigues of competitors."
As a result, competitors really improved their positions - this follows from the DSM Group data. For example, "Viardo" (manufacturer - LLC "Ecology of Life") has risen from the fourth line in the top 10 to the first. If in April the company's revenue from sold additives was 13.5 million rubles, then in July it increased to 14.5 million rubles.
Also significantly - 10 times - improved its position "Lovelace Forte". In April, dietary supplements occupied less than one percent of the market, now - almost 11%. The revenue of the manufacturer - the company OOO NPK Plant Resources - rose from 5 million rubles to 22 million rubles.
"RIA Panda" created clones
However, RIA Panda still occupies a huge part of the market - 34.6%. The company succeeds thanks to dietary supplement clones. They banned "Sealex forte" - but there is "Sealex forte plus". And instead of the banned Ali Caps, you can buy Ali Caps Plus.
The company started selling Sealex Forte Plus and Ali Caps Plus back in January 2016, - said Sergey Kirillov, head of the strategic marketing service at RIA Panda.
In Rospotrebnadzor, both dietary supplements with "pluses" were registered in September 2015 (Life has copies of the certificates).
According to DSM Group, if in April RIA Panda received 105 million rubles for dietary supplements without "pluses", now for dietary supplements with a "plus" in the name - 95 million rubles.
Despite similar names, additives are different in composition. For example, "Sealex forte" - these are extracts of yohimbe bark, ginseng root, green tea, licorice root, dwarf palm fruits. Sealex forte plus also contains extracts of licorice root, ginseng root and dwarf palm fruit, but there is no yohimbe bark extract, but eurycoma root extract appears. But buyers look, of course, at the brand, and do not look for a list of eurycoma properties in encyclopedias.
Banned dietary supplements are still on sale
At the same time, you can also buy the banned Sealex Forte and Ali Caps.
According to DSM Group, 7,000 packages of the banned Ali Caps were sold in June, and 1,800 packages in July. DSM Group suggested that pharmacies were selling leftovers, while RIA Panda said they did not know why sales were recorded.
DSM Group has no data on the sale of the banned "Sealex forte" in pharmacies. But Life checked: online pharmacies have both prohibited additives. On the apteka-for-men.ru portal, we easily ordered Ali caps.
Yes, this is the old "Ali caps", - said the coordinator of the site. - Yes, it is difficult to find in ordinary pharmacies. Whether there will be new deliveries is unknown.
And on the vitaminas.ru website, we easily found and ordered "Sealex forte". When asked about the legality of the sale, the site coordinator replied:
We have not received any official documents. The supplier told us that we can sell at our discretion. There have been some problems since May, but they seem to have been recalled only in Kazakhstan. So don't worry, it's not forbidden to sell it.
Should we wait for the return of additives "Sealex forte" and "Ali caps" to the legal field? As Dmitry Dergachev said, "RIA Panda" intends to prove that the claims against its dietary supplements were unfounded - including through the courts. He continues to insist that all the problems are due to the intrigues of competitors.
The market is growing because the potency is falling
In general, the market for dietary supplements for male potency has grown slightly - in April it was equal to 178 million, in July - 206 million rubles.
Of course, after the disappearance of market leaders, we can assume that other manufacturers have stepped up and started to work actively to occupy the niche of Sealex and Ali Caps, - said Leonid Maryanovsky, director of the non-profit partnership Producers of Bioadditives. - Most likely, because of this, the market is growing.
Sexologist Vladimir Fainzilberg believes that manufacturers of dietary supplements to increase male potency have very real reasons to fight for the consumer.
Nowadays, when products are not the best, the environment is bad, and if you still use tobacco, alcohol and drugs, men lose their sexual power after 35 years. Drugs to increase potency (for example, Viagra) have a lot of side effects. And dietary supplements, if they do not bring benefits, then at least they definitely will not harm. Therefore, they are very popular, and this popularity will not pass very soon.
At the same time, earlier the president of the Professional Association of Sexologists Evgeny Kulgavchuk, that the effectiveness of dietary supplements has not been proven.
Since dietary supplements do not pass such clinical trials as pharmaceuticals, many of them are dummy and work in the placebo format, - said Evgeny Kulgavchuk, president of the Professional Association of Sexologists. - Others can have an unpredictable effect.
Two drugs outlawed
Two well-known dietary supplements to improve potency in men - "Cialex Forte" and "Ali Caps" - may disappear from pharmacy shelves. The decision to ban them was published on its official website by Rospotrebnadzor. It will be impossible to sell miracle pills for heroic silushka because of the substance tadalafil, which was included in the dietary supplements, but not declared by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Sialex Forte and Ali Caps received state registration as biologically active food supplements in Kazakhstan. Therefore, the decision to ban them, cancel all license documents and withdraw the parties from circulation on April 26 was taken by the Kazakh Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights.
Now the scandal has reached Russia. As Rospotrebnadzor indicated in its report, the Kazakh authorities recognized both drugs as counterfeit due to the discovery of tadalafil not declared by the manufacturer in them. In turn, Russian officials pledged to strengthen supervision over the production of bioadditives and remove illegal pills from pharmacy chains.
The detection of tadalafil in the drug automatically transfers it from the category of dietary supplements to the category of medicines, - explained Leonid Maryanovsky, an expert on bioadditives, a representative of the association of their manufacturers.
According to the expert, tadalafil is a synthetic drug used to treat erectile dysfunction. However, according to the law, in bioadditives such substances should not be in principle.
If we are talking about medicinal herbs, then according to the rules they can be half the minimum therapeutic dose. Only under these conditions can a pill be called a dietary supplement.
Manufacturers of potency supplements, meanwhile, told us that they sent a request to Kazakhstan for clarification. However, Rospotrebnadzor reported that information about the presence of an illegal component in dietary supplements sold in the territory of the Customs Union also came from Belarus and Armenia. In addition, the Moscow Department of the TFR has already managed to check this fact.
All these checks began with the fact that we purchased 29 copies of popular dietary supplements for potency of 8 items, - says Leonid Maryanovsky, - In three different laboratories, we conducted research on the composition of drugs. And at 25, tadalafil was found.
According to Maryanovsky, bioadditives produced in Russia, the USA, Malaysia and China were sent for testing. After the publication of disappointing results, the Americans immediately recalled their product from all pharmacies. The Malaysians struggled a little, but lost all the arbitrations in Belarus, where their pills were registered, and then gave up. The expert is sure that the same fate awaits the current heroes of the drug scandal.
Distributors assure that it is allegedly simply impossible to reliably identify the presence of medicinal synthetics in dietary supplements - as the representative of the pharmaceutical company said, at the moment such methods do not exist.
In fact, there is a methodology, but it is young and, perhaps, not everyone has had time to get acquainted with it, - explains Maryanovsky, - At the end of last summer, we, together with the Research Institute of Nutrition of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and experts from PFUR, began to develop it, and at the beginning of this year, Rospotrebnadzor issued completely legitimate guidelines on the procedure for detecting tadalafil in preparations.
