He described the vegetable in detail, including its taste characteristics as they explored America and its lands. Even then, sweet pepper attracted the attention of a doctor, he spoke of him as "a juicy bright berry with a unique taste."

In Russia, the fruit first appeared in the 16th century, it was brought from Iran and Turkey, but for some reason then it did not gain much popularity, people were still afraid to eat it, and many scientists even considered the fruit a "wild inedible berry."


But in the 19th century, everything changed dramatically, a certain scientist, whose name we, unfortunately, do not know, recognized this product as a significant agricultural crop that is easy to grow. He began to fruitfully engage in breeding fruit.

Many are interested in why the pepper was called Bulgarian. There is still no definite answer to this question, but there is an assumption that it got its name because of the very large and most juicy fruits that were bred and began to be grown originally in Bulgaria.

Contraindications for the use of sweet pepper

Despite all the benefits and a huge amount of vitamins contained in pepper, it also has some contraindications. This vegetable is quite “heavy” for the human digestive system and stomach, so you need to treat it with some caution.

Avoiding a juicy vegetable is for people who have high acidity, the fruit can exacerbate this problem. It is also worth avoiding the vegetable for those who have any mental problems, a tendency to allergic reactions (each fruit absorbs a large amount of harmful pesticides), problems with the digestive system and intestines. It can cause diarrhea in such people or, conversely, severe constipation. Also, the fetus should not be given to young children under 5 years old, their stomach and digestive system are not yet able to digest this product normally.
