Aloe is always at hand: traditional medicine recipes

Greetings to all, friends!

They say that a dog is a man's friend, and I would call aloe that way! Despite the fact that there are almost no worries with this house plant, it will always come to your aid: it will relieve both abscesses and a runny nose. It should definitely grow in your home, no matter what size your room is.

Many people use recipes with aloe at home; traditional medicine has known them since ancient times. And today I will remind you of some of them: from aloe juice, from leaves, for external and internal use, aloe recipes with honey.

Aloe tree: how to grow at home

Aloe is a succulent species, i.e. it stores water in its leaves, 94% of aloe leaves are composed of water. This evergreen perennial plant is native to Africa and in nature can reach a size of 4 meters.

It has an erect branching stem, green or gray-green fleshy long leaves with small teeth along the edges, which can scratch, but are not as bad and prickly as rose thorns.

The surface of the leaves is slightly convex at the bottom and flat at the top.

There are more than three hundred varieties of aloe, but it is believed that aloe vera with small light spots on the leaves has the greatest medicinal properties.

In the desert, aloe blooms in spring with tubular pink and yellow flowers.

I don’t know, I’ve never observed this phenomenon in anyone at home.

Aloe is popularly called agave and is grown as a houseplant not for beauty, but for benefit.

It is very easy to grow, as it is a completely unpretentious plant. It propagates by side shoots, which can be planted in August - September using regular soil from the garden. If the soil in your garden is decent, there should be no problem growing it. If the soil is heavy clay, add humus and sand to it.

Aloe loves light, so it is better to place it on southern windows.

Frequent watering can ruin the plant, because, if you remember, there is already a lot of water in its leaves. Therefore, you need to water only when the soil is completely dry.

In general, it is difficult to kill this plant, even if for some reason it withers, it is quite possible that under favorable conditions it will be able to move away.

Beneficial properties of aloe

Even 3 thousand years ago, the medicinal beneficial properties of aloe were known. Their leaves contain enzymes, vitamins and various valuable substances, thanks to which aloe preparations have:

  • anti-inflammatory effect
  • antibacterial
  • choleretic
  • anti-burn
  • wound healing
  • skin regenerating
  • moisturizing
  • laxative
  • improves appetite and digestion
  • enhances the secretion of the digestive glands
  • increases immunity and protective functions of the body
  • strengthens the heart muscle
  • painkiller
  • anticancer.
  • The gel, which is located inside the aloe leaf, can heal many skin problems:

  • in places of insect vinegars
  • skin damage due to frostbite
  • pimples and boils
  • eczema
  • puffiness under the eyes.
  • It also strengthens gums and teeth, helps fight skin aging and wrinkles, and eliminates dandruff by rubbing into the scalp.

Using aloe, you can strengthen the immune system, solve stomach problems, eliminate constipation, treat arthritis and joint pain, heartburn, ulcers, lower cholesterol, relieve inflammation from the eyes, improve skin condition and hair growth.

And this is not the whole list.

How to properly prepare aloe for use and make aloe juice at home

Aloe gains its healing power only by the age of three. And a plant older than 10 years already loses it. Therefore, we use only 3-5 year old bushes.

Moreover, you need to cut off the lower thick leaves of the plant, about 15 cm long. The upper young leaves have not yet gained strength.

Before cutting, you should not water the plant for two weeks.

If we need a little juice and gels for local external use, then in this case the cut leaf needs to be washed, dried, and the needles and a thin layer of skin must be cut off.

To obtain a small amount of juice, the gel (pulp obtained after cutting the skin) is placed in cheesecloth and squeezed.

We will achieve the best treatment effect if we first place the cut leaves in a dark, cool place (refrigerator) for 7-8-10 days. The life processes in the leaves fade away under these conditions, and the plant cells, fighting for their lives, begin to gather all their strength, forming biogenic stimulants, which become stimulants for the diseased human organ.

How to make aloe juice at home in large quantities:

  • Wash and dry the leaves prepared above using the method described above; it is not necessary to cut off the skin from them;
  • cut the leaves into pieces and grind through a meat grinder;
  • Squeeze the juice out of the resulting slurry through gauze folded in four, which should be boiled for 3 minutes.
  • The juice is used immediately while it is fresh.

    Aloe juice: uses, recipes

What are the benefits of aloe juice?

I would like to say once again about the benefits of aloe juice. After all, it is especially widely used in traditional medicine at home.

Aloe juice has properties that counteract many bacteria: staphylococci, streptococci, diphtheria, dysentery; increase metabolism in tissues; increase the body's resistance and promote rapid cell healing.

In the form of lotions, the juice is used externally to treat purulent wounds, burns, abscesses, boils, cracks and jams in the corners of the mouth.

Used as a gargle for sore throats and gum inflammation.

In small doses, aloe juice stimulates the appetite, it is useful for constipation and gastritis with low acidity, gastric ulcer, tuberculosis and general weakness, to increase the body's resistance to infectious diseases.

Drink a teaspoon 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

It should be borne in mind that fresh aloe juice is not stored for a long time and generally loses its activity during storage. Therefore, to prepare mixtures for long-term storage and use, aloe tinctures in alcohol (vodka, wine) are used; I will write the recipes below.

    Aloe for colds

When you have a cold, it is good to gargle with aloe juice mixed in equal parts with boiled warm water.

In addition, it is good to drink hot milk with one teaspoon of aloe juice.

For a runny nose, drop 5-8 drops of aloe juice into the nose. This can be done three times a day with an interval of 3 to 5 hours. This treatment stops the development of acute rhinitis.

    Aloe for eyes

To prevent and restore vision, eye drops are made from aloe juice with honey. The thorns and skin are cut off from the leaf, the gel is extracted, and the juice is squeezed out of it.

Mix a teaspoon of juice with the same amount of liquid honey, mix well and dilute with 2 tsp. boiled chilled water.

Store the mixture in the refrigerator, drop 1-2 drops into the eyes twice a day.

    Aloe in gynecology

In gynecology, there is a practice of treating cervical erosion using tampons moistened with fresh aloe juice.

But for acute inflammatory diseases, aloe should not be used.

    Aloe for children

Drinking this increases appetite, improves blood composition, and children gain weight.

But not everyone likes the taste of such a drug. Then you can prepare a more pleasant and nutritious mixture: 100 g of aloe juice is combined with half a kilo of walnuts, 300 g of honey and the juice of 4 lemons. Take a teaspoon before meals.

    Aloe leaves: application

Just like juice, aloe leaves can be used for purulent wounds and to treat other skin problems. If, for example, there is a wound or abscess on the skin, you need to cut off the thorns from the aloe leaf, cut it lengthwise and apply it to the sore spot, secure it with a plaster or bandage.

For bleeding and inflammation of the gums, stomatitis, and loose teeth, it is useful to chew an aloe leaf.

    Aloe and honey

We all know the beneficial properties of honey, there is no need to convince anyone, and by combining aloe with honey, the healing effect of the recipes is only enhanced. Therefore, I would like to especially highlight this point. Recipes use both juice and whole aloe leaves.

I will give several recipes for using aloe with honey, but in principle they are very similar.

My only prejudice is towards recipes in which infusions and mixtures need to be heated in some way, because honey loses its healing properties at temperatures above 40 degrees, so I excluded them from my article.

    Aloe with honey for cough

This recipe is good for coughs, there are only positive reviews about it, and for pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumonia.

Mix 15 g of aloe juice (1 tsp), 100 g of honey, 100 g of butter or goose/pork lard and 50 g of cocoa. Take a tablespoon with hot milk.

This is my favorite cough recipe, I have already written about it, children also enjoy eating this composition. The main thing is that it is a very effective mixture.

For other cough treatment recipes, including those with aloe and honey, see my publication “ Cough remedies with honey».

    Aloe vera remedy for immunity

The favorite recipe with aloe for immunity by many is quite simple. It uses aloe, honey, Cahors.

How to do it: you need to take 150 g of fresh aloe juice, 250 g of honey, preferably linden, but you can use any other, and 350 g of good red wine, most often Cahors is used for this recipe, however, this wine is also used in other tinctures used, for example, in garlic tincture with red wine. Aloe juice is first infused in wine for a couple of weeks in a dark place, then the aloe tincture is mixed with honey and a tablespoon is taken of this medicine for immunity and general health promotion.

Aloe and honey for stomach treatment

I have already described in detail universal recipe for aloe with honey for the stomach and not only, which contains cognac and various herbs. This is a unique recipe that can cure ulcers, gastritis, liver, asthma, anemia, and many other ailments. Be sure to follow the link, read and adopt it.

    Aloe for oncology

Healers also make medicine from aloe to treat cancer. Here is one example.

    Aloe for stomach cancer: recipe

Begonia leaves are used along with aloe in this recipe. 4-5 begonia leaves are poured with 0.5 liters of boiling water and placed in a water bath. They soar for 8 hours.

Then the infusion is cooled and filtered.

Juice is squeezed out of aloe leaves (4-6 pieces) previously kept in the refrigerator.

Aloe juice is mixed with begonia infusion and 0.5 cognac is added (at least 15 years of aging).

This tincture is taken in the amount of three tablespoons per day.

Contraindications to the use of recipes with aloe

Medicines containing aloe should be used with caution and in compliance with the rules.

Large amounts of aloe juice inhibit peristalsis and can cause inflammation of the colon.

Preparations with aloe have a stimulating effect, so it is not recommended to take them later than 19 hours, so as not to cause insomnia.

Aloe promotes blood flow to the pelvic organs, for this reason it should not be used for any bleeding, hemorrhoids, or during pregnancy.

Aloe is contraindicated for acute diseases of the housing and communal services, kidneys, exacerbation of tuberculosis, inflammation of the female genital area.

Use with caution in oncology, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension.

Children are allowed to take it from 3 years of age and must be under the supervision of a doctor.

I hope my tips for using aloe recipes at home will help you. This way you will always have this valuable plant at hand.

How to prepare and use aloe vera medicine at home

Aloe is a genus of succulent plants that is often grown in apartments. Biologists identify about 400 of its species, but aloe vera and agave (tree-like) are widely used in folk and traditional medicine. Aloe vera medicine can be prepared using ingredients available to everyone. It's easy to make and has many applications.

    Application and benefits

Ointments, gels, drops, suspensions, and tinctures are prepared from aloe at home. Before you start cooking, you need to clarify what age the plant is used. It must be at least 4 years old; it is better to use the lower mature fleshy leaves with a dried tip.

This plant has antiseptic, antibacterial, laxative, choleretic and analgesic properties due to the content of more than 200 biologically active components, which belong to the following groups of elements:

    1. Anthrachions are medicinal substances including aloin (barbaloin).
    2. Saccharides: galactose, cellulose, xylose, acemannan.
    3. Vitamins: A, B1, B2, B6, B12, E, C, niacin and folic acid.
    4. Minerals: iron, sodium, calcium, potassium, magnesium, chromium, manganese, zinc, etc.
    5. Complex essential oils.
    6. Resins.
    7. Amino acids.
    8. Hormones: gibberellins and auxins.
    9. Carbohydrates and fatty acids in the form of mono- and polysaccharides.
    10. A large amount of allantoin, which has anti-inflammatory, astringent and anesthetic effects.
    11. Aloe vera medicine is used in the presence of the following diseases:

    12. herpes;
    13. burns, wounds, purulent ulcers, irritation, inflammation of the skin;
    14. stomach ache;
    15. diabetes;
    16. toothache, stomatitis;
    17. cold, cough, sore throat;
    18. ear infection;
    19. bowel irritation;
    20. radiculitis, rheumatism.
    21. The use of preparations prepared from the pulp helps to enhance the secretion of the digestive glands, strengthen the immune system, detoxify and cleanse the body. This succulent improves metabolism, helps in the fight against excess weight, dilates capillaries and normalizes blood circulation, stabilizes blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and slows down the processes of cellular aging. The aqueous extract, sold in pharmacies, has found wide use in ophthalmology; it is used to treat conjunctivitis, glaucoma, and cataracts.

      Cook at home

Let's look at how to make medicine with aloe at home. First you need to biostimulate it: place the adult plant in a dark place for 10 days, stopping watering, cut and rinse about 250 g of mature leaves with boiled water. Dry each shoot and wrap it tightly in cling film, put it in the refrigerator for 10-12 days. The concentration of nutrients in the pulp increases due to the fact that the pores close.

      The most popular cooking recipes:

    22. Squeeze the juice from the leaves and bury it in the nose or ears for inflammation, 2 drops 4 times a day. This helps remove mucus through sneezing.
    23. 1 tbsp. l. Dilute the juice in a glass of warm boiled water and gargle for sore throats with pharyngitis and sore throat. It is also recommended to chew fresh leaves for these diseases.
    24. There are many options for preparing medicine from aloe. You can simply wipe your hands and face with the cut shoot to get rid of age spots, inflammation, cracks, peeling and dryness.
    25. Add honey to the mixture

A combination of aloe and honey will help enhance the healing effect of the prepared medicines. Due to the content of natural sugars, this bee product is good for the heart. In addition, honey also contains a large amount of microelements and vitamins. It is important to remember that long-term heat treatment of honey is prohibited. The most popular recipes for medicines made from aloe and honey:

    26. To strengthen the immune system, mix 100 g of honey, 150 g of chopped walnuts, the juice of 1 lemon and a third of a glass of aloe juice. Take 1 tsp. 3 times a day.
    27. Honey and aloe are used to treat sore throat by mixing both components in equal quantities.
    28. To treat stomach ulcers, combine half a glass of crushed appendage and a glass of honey and leave for 3 days in a dark place, add a glass of Cahors, leave for another day and strain. Consume 1 tbsp before meals 3 times a day. l.
    29. Aloe and honey can treat skin inflammation by applying the mixture as a compress.
    30. Honey should be consumed with caution, as it is a strong allergen.

Features of storage of the product

Since the prepared formulations contain exclusively natural ingredients and do not contain preservatives, they have a limited shelf life. Agave juice in its pure form when in contact with air is stored for no more than 4 hours, then it begins to lose its healing properties and becomes useless. When preparing medicine from aloe juice, you need to know how to store it correctly.

The juice can be stored for 3 days in a tightly closed and sterilized container in a cool, dark place, but avoid letting air into the container. To increase shelf life, you can mix the juice with a component containing alcohol in a 1 to 1 ratio. This does not have to be vodka or pure alcohol; strong red wine, such as Cahors, is often used.

Leaves wrapped in film can be stored in the refrigerator for 1 month, which is useful when a small piece is needed for treating wounds or performing cosmetic procedures.

      Contraindications for use

Aloe-based preparations for oral administration are used only after careful study of possible contraindications:

    31. Allergic reaction. While allergies to the plant itself are extremely rare, allergies to honey are widespread. Before use, it is recommended to ensure that there are no adverse reactions.
    32. Ban on alcohol-containing drugs.
    33. Presence of diseases: cholecystitis, pyelonephritis, hepatitis A, hypertension, cystitis, hemorrhoids.
    34. Acute digestive disorders or liver dysfunction.
    35. Menstruation (there is a possibility of increased bleeding).
    36. Pregnancy (uterine tone may increase).
    37. Lactation period.
    38. Aloe-based medications should be taken with caution in childhood.
    39. It is strictly forbidden to take such drugs if you have epilepsy.

For external use, the product is not used only in the presence of allergies.

An overdose can lead to increased diarrhea, heartburn, and abdominal pain.

People knew how to prepare medicine from succulents back in the days of Ancient Egypt. Aloe vera recipes for preparing medicines are common all over the world, the most popular of which are:

  • 3-4 tbsp. l. dried fruits pour half a glass of water, when they swell and become soft, mix them with 2 tbsp. l. juice Drink throughout the day. This recipe is used for myocardial infarction.

  • For thrush and inflammation of the female genital organs, mix 150 g of honey and crushed aloe, soak gauze in the resulting slurry and use it as a compress at night.
  • Pharmacy drugs

There are not only homemade medicines, traditional medicine does not deny the benefits of natural aloe vera and widely uses it, drugs are sold in the form of:

  • juice in glass containers;
  • syrup with iron;
  • tablets, dietary supplements;
  • gel;
  • medicines in ampoules for injection.
  • Injections are used for inflammation of the respiratory system, female genital organs, gastrointestinal tract and to strengthen the immune system. Tablets are prescribed for myopia and myopathic chorioretinitis. Syrups and juice are sold as a mixture with other beneficial substances. According to the instructions, they can be taken for anemia, iron deficiency, intoxication, and after exposure to radiation.

Despite the fact that aloe is used in both traditional and folk medicine, the use of drugs based on it for treatment is strictly contraindicated for pregnant women, people suffering from epilepsy and prone to the formation of tumors, since the substances contained in the pulp stimulate their development. But thoughtful use and strict adherence to the instructions will help get rid of many diseases and unpleasant symptoms.

How can you use aloe at home?

There are many plants whose properties amaze and surprise. Aloe is one of these; it has long been considered a symbol of health and longevity. How to use such a plant to get the maximum benefit?

What kind of plant is this?

Africa is considered the homeland of aloe, but today you can find it literally everywhere, since many people grow it at home in pots. It looks like a small bush with many long, dense and fleshy leaves with spines on the sides (although there are different types, each of them has its own characteristics).

The name aloe from Arabic literally translates as “bitter”, and the plant received it precisely for its characteristic taste.

But even the bitterness did not scare people away, and they decided to try aloe in action, and they did it for good reason. Even Hippocrates appreciated this plant and advised many of his patients to use it.

To this day, the leaves and pulp are used to prepare all kinds of remedies for the prevention and treatment of a wide variety of diseases. Various cosmetics are also made from the pulp. And in some countries, leaves are added to salads and other dishes. This is such a versatile plant.

The composition of aloe is truly unique and incredibly rich. This is what is included here: anthraquinone, saccharides, phytoncides, resins, enzymes, sterols, resins, essential oils, organic acids, vitamins B6, B1, B2, C, A, E, zinc, iron, potassium, copper, sodium, calcium, chromium, magnesium, manganese and much more.

    Benefits of the plant

Let us list the unique beneficial properties of aloe that make its use effective and useful for a variety of purposes and areas:

  • Aloe leaves have long been applied to wounds, burns and ulcers. And this is not without reason, because such a plant has wound-healing, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, using aloe can dull pain.
  • The plant has an antibacterial effect and is able to fight certain types of pathogenic microorganisms, such as streptococci, staphylococci, as well as the causative agents of dysentery and diphtheria. It is also worth noting the antifungal effect.
  • Aloe is very useful for the digestive system: it stimulates intestinal motility, accelerates food digestion, and increases appetite. And some use the plant in the treatment of peptic ulcers (remember the healing wound-healing effect).
  • This plant is widely used to treat diseases of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract. For example, you can cure a runny nose by dropping juice into your nose, or a sore throat by rinsing. Also, unpleasant diseases such as stomatitis or periodontitis can be treated with aloe.
  • This is an excellent general strengthening remedy that can be used during rehabilitation after severe and serious illnesses or after operations. It is advisable to use aloe when exhausted.
  • The plant is good for the immune system, as it contains vitamin C, without which normal and proper functioning of the immune system would be impossible.
  • The phytoncides included in the composition are volatile substances that can fight viruses. So aloe is an effective means of preventing and treating viral infections.
  • Scientists have proven that with regular use of the plant, you can reduce blood sugar levels.
  • If you consume aloe, you can prevent the development of anemia and even improve the condition if such a disease already exists.
  • The substances that make up the plant, firstly, strengthen the walls of blood vessels, and secondly, they have a positive effect on the process of hematopoiesis. Thanks to this, blood circulation and blood supply to all tissues and organs are significantly improved, which improves the functioning of the entire body as a whole.
  • Aloe can also be used for some gynecological problems and diseases.
  • Regular consumption helps normalize and speed up metabolic processes, which, in turn, allows you to control and lose weight. So aloe can also be used for weight loss purposes.
  • Harm and contraindications

Like any plant, aloe has some contraindications:

  • Digestive disorders, some diseases of the digestive system (only when consumed orally).
  • Oncological diseases (such a plant accelerates almost all processes in the body, so that the growth of cancer cells can begin).
  • Epilepsy.
  • You should be careful during pregnancy, especially in its early stages (there is a risk of miscarriage).
  • Hypertensive patients should also exercise caution when ingesting it.
  • You should not take risks with any bleeding, or if you are prone to it.
  • It is worth noting that allergic reactions may occur. And if it is abused and exceeds the recommended dosage, diarrhea may begin.

    How to use?

Aloe can be used in a wide variety of applications. As already noted, in some countries it is even used in cooking, but for us this is not very common. But other areas of application are available.

    Prevention and treatment of diseases

It is worth noting that for the preparation of various remedies it is best to use the fleshiest lower leaves. And if the plant is not watered for several days, and then the leaves are placed in the refrigerator, then all the substances are activated, which will make the use of the plant more effective.

Using aloe vera at home: methods of use, recipes for folk remedies

It is difficult to find a person who has never seen aloe - this unique representative of medicinal plants has closely entered our lives and can be found on the windowsill in almost every home. The healing properties of the bush have been used for a long time, and the first facts recorded by historians regarding the use of the plant as a medicinal plant are very difficult to trace. Scientists rather speculate than know exactly when exactly people began to treat diseases with its help.

Aloe belongs to the succulents, numbering approximately 500 species, and these are not only the usual houseplants, but also bush-like, tree-like and herbaceous ones, which belong to the Xanthorrhoeaceae family. Most succulents have fleshy, sword-shaped leaves that grow in a spiral pattern around the trunk. The leaves of the plant, consisting of nutrients and water, are of particular value for medicine.

    General questions

A special feature of aloe is the wide range of uses of leaf pulp for the treatment of various types of diseases: colds, fungal, burns, inflammatory and others. The ability to grow the plant at home made it very popular; everyone has heard the expression: “Aloe is our home healer,” and everyone also knows that this is the real truth.

Despite all the value of the material that is present in the leaf part, the plant is very unpretentious in care and is particularly resilient and survives in natural conditions.

    What is aloe?

It belongs to herbaceous perennials, which nature has awarded with thick, fleshy wedge-shaped leaves containing water and various substances with special micronutrients. Most of the varieties of aloe grow in the deserts of Africa, and this is about 350 species, significantly different from the plants that we are used to seeing on our windowsill, but, nevertheless, like all representatives of the asphodel family, they are endowed with special properties.

In aloe, researchers are particularly interested in biogenic stimulants, used as a medicinal substance in many medical preparations.

What is the difference between aloe (agave) and aloe vera?

In indoor conditions where the temperature does not drop below +80 0 C, two types of aloe are most often grown - Aloe arborescens tree, or as people say agave and Aloe vera or aloe vera. Lovers of indoor plants also grow Aloe variegata, a tiger or variegated plant, the color of which has a unique format.

Two species that are more common than usual have differences regarding the shape of the stem and leaves:

  • Aloe vera is found in natural conditions more often on the plains of Barbados and India. The plant has a bush-like shape with fleshy, dark green and wedge-shaped short leaves, collected in small rosettes. The leaf blade is divided by white round spots, and the leaf itself may have small spines along the edges. At the time of flowering, the peduncle has a shoot with a racemose inflorescence of a light yellow hue.
  • Agave, or tree aloe, looks more like a tall bush with a well-developed stem, is characterized by rapid growth and takes up more space on the windowsill than other plants (due to the scattering of leaves, which are lancet-shaped with a dirty green color). Racemose inflorescences located on the shoot, at the time of flowering, have different flower colors (yellow, pink, red), but due to the fact that the plant blooms rarely, this type of aloe is popularly called agave.
  • What are the benefits of aloe?

The leaves of the agave and its counterparts are practically the same in composition; they contain a number of useful substances that are used in both traditional and folk medicine. What is so valuable in the plant and how it can be used to treat various diseases.

  • Group of vitamins: A, E, C,
  • Carotenoids.
  • Catechins.
  • Flavonoids.
  • Active enzymes.
  • Mineral salts.
  • Reducing substances.
  • Traditional medicine mostly uses the juice and pulp of the plant; pharmacists make extract or condensed juice (sabur), which is the most valuable raw material for the manufacture of drugs used not only for the treatment of dangerous diseases, but also in cosmetology and dentistry. Medicines prepared from aloe are prescribed by specialists for the treatment of various diseases: colds, extensive burns, inflammatory processes and others. In cosmetology, the substance is primarily valued as a catalyst that accelerates the regeneration process.

    Where can you buy aloe?

There are many people who grow shrubs not so much for the design of the room, but in order to always have on hand a plant useful for its bactericidal, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. This is especially important for those families with children - these restless ones can always knock something over, scratch their skin, or simply catch a cold.

Florist specialists recommend buying already strong plants that do not require replanting for some time, since aloe “takes root” in other rooms and will need some time to acclimatize in a new place. The flower can be ordered in garden stores, where when planting a plant, its size, growth prospects and the complex of minerals necessary for normal growth are taken into account. It is important to remember that the plant must reach 3 years of age, only then is it suitable as a medicinal substance.

If the plant is still young enough to purchase a ready-made preparation in the form of an extract, or evaporation of juice, it can be used as a network of pharmacies, where they are always available, or an online store, where purchasing prices are slightly lower, but shipping the drug will require some time interval.

Aloe in the treatment of diseases

This is exactly the case when the uniqueness of the plant is its versatility, since it is suitable for treating at least several dozen different diseases. The plant is used in folk and traditional medicine in various formats:

For the preparation of medicines, not only the pulp of the leaves is used, but also the main part of the stem and root system, especially when it comes to decoctions and tinctures with alcohol. Preparations prepared on its basis are used to treat the following diseases:

  • Bleeding and wounds.
  • Burns.
  • Inflammatory processes.
  • As a remedy used in surgery for the postoperative period.
  • Infectious diseases, including fungal treatments.

First of all, healers use the value of the medicinal substance found in the leaves of the plant to treat skin damage, skin diseases and colds.

Most people who use the plant as a medicinal substance are familiar with only one way to use the plant: squeezing the juice from the leafy part and applying it to the affected area. In fact, to prepare a medicine based on aloe juice with the desired properties, many additives are used as additional substances: chicken eggs, butter, honey, juice and decoctions of other plants, and many other different ingredients that are endowed with special medicinal properties.

    Homemade masks with aloe

The massage is performed in the usual manner; for the first procedures, 3-5 minutes are enough, after which the session can be extended.

    Aloe compress

Vodka compress: for 150 ml of alcohol you will need 100 ml of plant juice and 200 ml of honey. All components are mixed, and heated to 40 0 C, a cloth that will be in direct contact with the patient’s skin is moistened in the solution.

  • Burns, especially sunburn (thermal), are treated in many ways: they buy ointments, gels, solutions, but if the trouble happened at home, and there is a home doctor on the windowsill, it is not always advisable to buy medicine: a remedy prepared at home is absolutely no different in terms of quality and healing effect.

The simplest method of treatment is to cut the leaf lengthwise to divide it into two equal parts and apply the fragments to the damage. If the scale of sunburn is large, you can add a few drops of tea tree oil to the aloe pulp and, after moistening your hands or a tampon with the substance, carefully apply the substance in a thin layer to the surface of the skin, allowing the substance to be absorbed into the dermis.

Also, in case of frequent burns on the hands and fingers, for example, as a result of working with chemicals, you can prepare the simplest remedy for their treatment based on honey and aloe pulp, which are taken in equal proportions, mixed, and left in a dark place for 3 weeks.

    For pain (toothache, throat, joints)

For a sore throat, when the organ is affected by a sore throat or other similar disease, you can try a simple but effective recipe: 5 tbsp. l. Mix aloe juice with one spoon of honey and let it brew in a cold place for 7 hours. This amount of liquid is calculated for a day of treatment of the disease (there is no point in making a lot of the substance in advance - it will lose its healing power).

When the joints “twist” and hurt, a good recipe for treating such diseases would be a recipe for a medicinal substance that has been used for a very long time: ? A glass of agave pulp is mixed with 250 ml of alcohol and 4 tbsp. l. bear fat (internal). The product should infuse for 10-12 days, and it should be stored in a cool, dark place. At the time of use, the substance is slightly heated so that it can be re-stirred, separated as much as needed at one time, and heated again to 40-45 0 C, for example, on a radiator in an iron bowl. The drug is used as a rub or compress.

In case of acute toothache, no special preparations are required: the agave leaf is washed, dried with a napkin and, having been divided with a neat longitudinal incision and the part of the required format, applied to the sore spot (pulp).

Aloe's ability to reduce blood glucose levels, have a positive effect on metabolism, regulate cholesterol levels and resist harmful microorganisms allows the plant to be used to combat such insidious and intractable diseases as diabetes. Some of the medications can be prepared independently at home.

  • Infusion. The drug is prepared with alcohol: chopped aloe leaves are placed in a half-liter glass jar and filled flush with the neck with alcohol, after which the container is covered and placed in a dark, cool place for 25 days, shaking the container periodically.
  • Agave pulp. The cut and washed leaf is cut and, having separated the required amount of pulp from the skin (1 tbsp. L), eaten (bitter, but tolerable).
  • For children whose age does not allow them to take drugs that are harsh in their effect on the child’s body to treat adenoids, the best way out of the situation is to use drugs prepared according to traditional medicine recipes based on aloe.

  • Aloe juice diluted with water is dripped into the nasal sinuses at the very beginning of inflammatory processes, after first forcing the baby to blow his nose and rinsing the canals with boiled and cooled water or physiological (saline) solution.
  • If the inflammatory process has entered the exacerbation phase, there is no need to dilute the juice, unless, to prevent the mucous membrane from being irritated, add a little vegetable oil to the substance.
  • Prostatitis

Treatment of prostatitis with the help of aloe was practiced by ancient healers and, despite the fact that the world and civilization have changed greatly since then, the recipe that has come to us from those times is still successfully used in modern medicine, both folk and traditional. The most popular, effective and at the same time easy to prepare are two recipes:

  • Use the leaf whole, without any additives. By eating 1 leaf of aloe vera per day, within a month patients feel a significant improvement in relation to the manifestations that prostatitis is so rich in.
  • Honey tincture. 500 gr. finely chopped aloe vera leaves are poured with 500 ml of honey, stirred and allowed to brew for 2 days, after which a bottle (0.5 l) of red wine is added. The tincture should “take its strength” and infuse in a dark place with a low temperature (cellar or refrigerator) for at least 10 days and consume 1 tsp when ready. 3 times a day before meals for 1-1.5 months, after which a break is taken.
  • Pancreatitis

Aloe juice for pancreatitis is not the main medicinal substance for treating the disease; this substance is prescribed in combination with stronger medications. From the recipe taken from traditional medicine, the most basic are two uses of the plant:

  • Freshly prepared juice. The plant is crushed (one leaf) and the juice is squeezed out of it, which must be drunk immediately, since after 3 hours the substance will begin to lose its active biological properties.
  • Alcohol tincture. Alcohol and plant juice are mixed in equal quantities and in this state the substance can be stored in a cold place for some time (about a month).
  • Aloe is a plant that has both laxative, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which, when used correctly, can be used as a remedy for constipation. To overcome the unpleasant aftertaste of the plant, you can mix it with any juice that additionally has a laxative effect, such as apricot. For a glass of fruit juice (250 ml) you will need 100 ml of aloe juice; drink the product twice a day: on an empty stomach and in the evening, shortly before bedtime.

Chalazion (hordeolum) is an infectious disease that needs to be treated immediately when the first symptoms appear (redness, inflammation of the eyelid). One type of treatment is the use of substances prepared at home according to recipes taken from traditional medicine. In this case, aloe is used in the form of drops, which are prepared from the juice of the plant (the pulp of the leaves is filtered using gauze).

Psoriasis is a skin disease that affects the skin and prevents the normal renewal of dermal cells. Since the disease is not transmitted by infection, but is hereditary, it does not pose a threat to others, but if left untreated, it can provoke the development of psoriasis in the form of spread to new areas of the skin. In this case, treatment of scaly lichen with the help of medicinal plants (aloe, celandine, etc.) and components created by nature (medicinal baths, mud baths, clay) is one of the most basic methods.

Rub the juice or pulp of the agave onto the affected areas. Under the influence of biologically active substances, the affected areas are regenerated with a simultaneous bactericidal and healing effect. By moisturizing the areas with allantoin, the affected areas of the skin acquire the necessary elasticity, the stratum corneum softens, and the nutrient medium, which is rich in aloe, protects against infection from penetrating into the upper layers of the dermis.

Treatment of colds with medicinal plants according to recipes taken from traditional medicine is one of the most pressing topics observed today in modern medicine. The impact of plants on the human body makes it possible in many cases to do without the use of medicinal substances and aloe, as a representative of the “green pharmacy” has repeatedly proven and continues to prove this.

With the help of agave (aloe), purulent sore throat, pneumonia, bronchitis, and other respiratory tract diseases are successfully treated. As practice shows, in combination with other substances that enhance the therapeutic effect, aloe copes with inflammatory processes, strengthens the immune system, and resists viruses and bacteria. Which of the recipes help resist colds:

  • Crushed leaves (200 g) sprinkled with 1 tsp. salt and, stirring from time to time, let the mixture brew for a day in a cool and dark place. The medicine is taken 3 times a day, 1 tbsp. l.
  • Rhinitis is treated with juice, which is instilled into the nasal canals.
  • For sore throat, mix the juice with water (1:1) and gargle with the solution several times a day.
  • 300 gr. aloe juice is mixed with a glass of honey and filled with a bottle of Cahors, 100 grams are added every other day. alcohol, after which the substance continues to infuse for another 5 days. The medicine is taken 2-3 times a day, 1 tbsp. l. (Doctors advise not to give this substance to children).
  • On the? A glass of warm milk will require 100 g. aloe juice The substance is used to treat coughs; it is drunk twice, moderately warmed, an hour before meals.
  • 1 tbsp. l. aloe juice mixed with 50 gr. butter and 1 tbsp. l. honey, and taken as a medicine for colds.
  • For otitis media, instead of medications, especially if it concerns small children, you can use decoctions, tinctures and other substances prepared from medicinal plants. Aloe is one of those plants that has a complex effect on various diseases, so there are a lot of recipes based on it that help cope with diseases. For otitis media, aloe is used in different ways:

  • Drops from juice. The prepared juice is instilled into the ear using a pipette (3-5 drops).
  • Compresses. Moisten a cotton or gauze torpedo with the heated juice and place it in the ear for a while.
  • Aloe for varicose veins

For varicose veins, aloe is used as a remedy in various recipe formats:

  • Honey – 1 tsp.
  • Aloe juice – 50 gr.
  • Pork fat (lard) – ? tsp
  • Vishnevsky ointment - ? tsp
  • All ingredients are placed in a metal bowl and heated until they can be mixed well. The ointment is applied to the affected areas, rubbing into the skin, after which you need to wrap it in any warm cloth for several hours (at night).

Alcohol tincture is one of those medicinal substances that is both a preventive and therapeutic agent at the same time:
