Omnic Okas is a specialized drug necessary to normalize the functioning of the bladder against the background of prostate hyperplasia. Medicinal reference book geotar Omnik okas side effects

Disruption of the normal functioning of the urinary system, as a rule, is accompanied by a lot of negative sensations. Difficulty in excreting urine due to compression of the urethra by anything (hematoma, tumor, stone, enlarged prostate gland) is called dysuria in the medical community. The drugs “Omnic” and “Omnic Ocas” are intended to treat this problem caused by it. What is the difference between them, and whether there is one at all, will be discussed below.

Basic composition and release form of medicines

The manufacturer offers the drug “Omnik” to consumers in capsule form. Modified-release Omnic capsules contain 400 mcg of tamsulosin hydrochloride as the main active ingredient.

The auxiliary components include cellulose, triacetin, yellow and red iron oxides, calcium stearate. The orange body of the capsule is covered with an olive green cap. The granules range in color from white to light yellow.

As for the drug "Omnic Okas", the instructions for use indicate that the drug is available in the form of controlled-release tablets. The main active ingredient is the same tamsulosin hydrochloride. The auxiliary components are somewhat different from those included in Omnic: macrogol (8,000 and 7,000,000), magnesium stearate and purified water. The tablets are round, biconvex, yellow to brownish-yellow in color.

Pharmacodynamics

Taking Omnic stimulates a decrease in the tension of the smooth muscles of the bladder neck, and the tone of the prostate gland decreases. During treatment with the drug, the symptoms of irritation (filling) and obstruction (emptying) of the bladder that accompany prostatic hyperplasia become less pronounced.

“Omnik” is characterized by high selectivity, as a result of which it does not help lower blood pressure either in patients with normal blood pressure or in hypertensive patients.

The pharmacological effect on the male body is practically the same for the medicines “Omnic” and “Omnic Okas”. What is the difference, and is there any difference at all for those suffering from high blood pressure? Both drugs, when taken at 400 mcg per day, do not cause a noticeable increase in blood pressure.

Indications and contraindications

“Omnik” and “Omnik Okas” instructions for use recommend use for the treatment of dysuric abnormalities caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia.

As for contraindications, it should be said that patients who suffer from orthostatic arterial hypotension (a significant drop in blood pressure when a person stands up) should not take the drug, because this can lead to a decrease in blood supply to the brain and fainting. In addition, drugs are not prescribed in the presence of severe renal failure and in case of individual hypersensitivity to the active or auxiliary components. For those who suffer from renal failure, Omnic and Omnic Ocas are prescribed with great caution. What is the difference between them? Omnic capsules are taken for severe degrees of the disease, and Omnic Ocas capsules are taken for chronic forms and creatine clearance below 10 ml/min.

Application and dosage

How do they drink Omnik? Instructions for use (the price of the drug will be discussed later) states that this drug should be taken once in a daily volume of 400 mcg. It is advisable to take the capsule after breakfast, do not chew it and take it with a sufficient amount of liquid. Small or moderate deviations from the norm in the functioning of the liver and kidneys are not grounds for dose adjustment.

"Omnik Okas", the price of which is slightly higher than that of the drug "Omnik", the instructions allow you to take it regardless of meals.

The daily amount of medication is 1 tablet (400 mcg). It is not recommended to chew the medicine, as this may affect the prolonged release of the main active ingredient.

Exceeding the permissible dose

It is necessary to carefully follow the recommendations of the attending physician in order to avoid an overdose of Omnic and Omnic Okas medications. What is the difference in symptoms? To date, no cases of acute overdose with Omnic have been recorded. Theoretically speaking, there is a possibility of a drop in blood pressure and the development of compensatory tachycardia. Taking large volumes of Omnic Okas causes arterial hypotension in the acute stage.

Treatment in both cases consists of bringing the patient into a horizontal position, taking sorbents (activated carbon has proven itself best) or an osmotic laxative. In order to prevent further absorption of tamsulosin, gastric lavage is recommended. If, in case of poisoning with Omnic Ocas, all the measures described above do not have the desired effect, the use of vasoconstrictors and drugs that increase blood volume is acceptable. The likelihood that dialysis will provide any noticeable effect is low, since tamsulosin binds quite intensively to plasma proteins.

Side effects

The use of Omnic can cause some undesirable effects from different systems of the human body. CVS can manifest itself through dizziness, increased heart rate, and sometimes orthostatic hypotension may occur.

A possible reaction of the nervous system is headaches, impotence. From the gastrointestinal tract, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting may be observed. Not often, but it happens that the reproductive system reacts with development (rejection of sperm into the bladder).

We looked at the phenomena that Omnik is capable of causing (cheaper analogues exist, but they also contribute to the development of similar reactions). "Omnic Okas", in addition to everything described above, can cause fainting (this happens quite rarely), priapism (prolonged and painful erection not associated with sexual arousal). Sometimes patients develop rhinitis. Allergic reactions caused by both medications are similar: urticaria, skin rash, itching, angioedema (rare).

What should you pay attention to?

If the patient has a predisposition to orthostatic hypotension, Omnic should be used with caution. At the first signs of the development of this condition, the person should be put down, or at least seated. In addition, confirmation of the diagnosis should be made to rule out the presence of diseases that cause the same symptoms as prostatic hyperplasia.

Many patients are interested in what is better than Omnik, more effective and gives faster results? With the use of Omnic Okas, it is possible to achieve the desired effect faster. However, if this drug is used, it can overcome the threshold after which fainting will occur.

If surgery is performed during treatment with Omnic Okas, there is a possibility of developing narrow pupil syndrome.

When treating with both drugs, it is important at the beginning and throughout treatment to regularly perform a rectal examination (digital) and, if necessary, determination of a specific prostate antigen.

Price range

Today Omnik capsules can be purchased in the pharmacy chain for 360-370 rubles (we are talking about 10 capsules). A pack of 30 pieces is available to consumers at a price of 740-795 rubles. For 100 capsules you will have to pay from 2085 to 2175 rubles.

The price of the drug "Omnic Okas" is much higher. A blister of 10 tablets will cost the consumer 560-620 rubles. A pack of 30 pieces will cost even more: you will have to pay from 1520 to 1690 rubles for it.

In general, we can say that the medicine, let’s say, is not exactly cheap. However, its purchase does not carry any particularly sensitive consequences for the wallet of a consumer with average financial capabilities.

Drug analogues and doctors’ opinions

Currently, there are many medications that have an effect similar to that of Omnic Okas and Omnic. Analogs are cheaper than the original product, and they can be easily purchased at a pharmacy chain.

Among the most popular drugs are “Omsulosin” (the cost of 30 tablets is about 470 rubles), “Proflosin” (30 tablets will cost 395-450 rubles, 100 - 1130-1160 rubles).

In addition, Tamsulosin Teva is in demand today in the pharmaceutical market. It can be purchased for 450-560 rubles (30 tablets).

As for opinions about the medication, medical professionals characterize it as a very, very effective means of reducing the tone of the prostate, which greatly facilitates the process of urine outflow. In addition, both doctors and patients report that treatment with Omnic and Omnic Okas significantly reduces the intensity of the development of such unpleasant symptoms as obstruction and irritation of the bladder.

Also important is the fact that these drugs can radically improve the quality of life of that part of the strong half of humanity that suffers from prostate diseases. It is only important to pay attention to uncharacteristic symptoms and, without waiting for it to “go away on its own,” seek medical help, and then follow all the recommendations of the treating doctor.

Reduces the tone of the smooth muscles of the prostate gland and urethra, improving the outflow of urine.

Pharmacological action of Omnic okas

Alpha1-adrenergic blocker. It is a specific competitive blocker of postsynaptic 1-adrenergic receptors, especially 1A and 1D subtypes, located in the smooth muscles of the prostate gland, bladder neck, prostatic urethra and detrusor. Reduces the tone of the smooth muscles of the prostate gland and urethra, improving the outflow of urine, and reduces the phenomena of bladder instability. This results in a reduction in the symptoms of obstruction (emptying) and irritation (filling) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The described effects on symptoms of obstruction and irritation persist with long-term use.
1-adrenergic receptor antagonists can reduce blood pressure by reducing peripheral vascular resistance. When using the drug Omnic Okas in a daily dose of 400 mcg, no cases of clinically significant decrease in blood pressure were observed.

Pharmacokinetics of the drug.

Suction
Omnic Ocas is a matrix-based controlled release tablet using a non-ionic gel that provides a long and slow release of tamsulosin and gives sufficient exposure with slight fluctuations over 24 hours.
Tamsulosin in the form of Omnic Okas is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Absorption is 57%. The absorption of tamsulosin in the form of Omnic Ocas is not affected by food intake. Tamsulosin is characterized by linear pharmacokinetics. After a single oral administration on an empty stomach of the drug at a dose of 400 mcg, the Cmax of tamsulosin in the blood plasma is achieved on average after 6 hours. In the equilibrium state, which is achieved by the 4th day of administration, the Cmax of tamsulosin in the blood plasma is achieved after 4-6 hours both when taken on an empty stomach and and after eating. There are significant individual differences in plasma concentrations after a single dose and repeated use.
Distribution
Plasma protein binding is about 99%, Vd is small - about 0.2 l/kg.
Metabolism
Tamsulosin is slowly metabolized in the liver to form less active metabolites. Most of tamsulosin is present in the blood plasma unchanged. According to experimental studies, tamsulosin has virtually no ability to induce the activity of microsomal liver enzymes.
Removal
Tamsulosin and its metabolites are excreted mainly in the urine, with about 4-6% of the drug excreted unchanged.
When taking Omnic Ocas at a dose of 400 mcg once and at steady state, T1/2 is 19 hours and 15 hours, respectively.

Indications for use:

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (treatment of dysuria).

Dosage and method of administration of the drug.

Prescribed orally 400 mcg (1 tablet) 1 time/day, regardless of meals. The tablet should be taken whole, without chewing, to avoid affecting the prolonged release of the active substance.

Side effects of Omnic okas:

Criteria for assessing the incidence of side effects: often - >1%,<10%; иногда — >0.1%, <1%; редко — >0.01%, <0.1%; очень редко — <0.01%.
From the cardiovascular system: sometimes - palpitations, postural hypotension.
From the digestive system: sometimes - constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting.
From the side of the central nervous system: 1.3% - dizziness; sometimes - headache; rarely - fainting.
From the reproductive system: sometimes - ejaculation disorders; very rarely - priapism.
From the respiratory system: sometimes - rhinitis.
Allergic reactions: sometimes - skin rash, itching, urticaria; rarely - angioedema.
Other: sometimes - asthenia.

Contraindications to the drug:

Orthostatic arterial hypotension;
- severe liver failure;
- hypersensitivity to tamsulosin or any other component of the drug.
The drug should be used with caution in chronic renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml/min).

Special instructions for use of Omnik okas.

When using the drug Omnic Okas (as well as other alpha1-blockers), in some cases a decrease in blood pressure may be observed, which in rare cases leads to fainting. At the first signs of orthostatic hypotension (dizziness, weakness), the patient should sit or lie down and remain in this position until the signs of this condition disappear.
During surgical interventions for cataracts while taking the drug, the development of intraoperative instability syndrome of the iris (narrow pupil syndrome) is possible, which must be taken into account by the surgeon for preoperative preparation of the patient during surgery.
Before starting therapy with Omnic Ocas, the patient should be examined to exclude the presence of other diseases that can cause the same symptoms as benign prostatic hyperplasia. Before starting treatment and regularly during therapy, it is necessary to perform a digital rectal examination and, if necessary, determination of prostate specific antigen (PSA).
In case of renal failure, no dose adjustment is required.
Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery
During the treatment period, patients should be careful when driving vehicles and other activities that require high concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Drug overdose:

Symptoms: acute arterial hypotension.
Treatment: to prevent further absorption of the drug, it is advisable to perform gastric lavage, prescribe activated charcoal and an osmotic laxative, for example, sodium sulfate; Blood pressure and heart rate may recover if the patient is placed in a horizontal position. If there is no effect, you can use drugs that increase blood volume and, if necessary, vasoconstrictors. Kidney function should be monitored. It is unlikely that dialysis will be effective because... Tamsulosin binds intensively to plasma proteins.

Interaction of Omnic okas with other drugs.

When tamsulosin was prescribed concomitantly with atenolol, enalapril, nifedipine or theophylline, no drug interactions were detected.
When used simultaneously with cimetidine, a slight increase in the concentration of tamsulosin in the blood plasma was observed; with furosemide - a decrease in concentration, but this does not require a change in the dose of Omnica Ocas, since its concentration remains within the normal range.
Diazepam, propranolol, trichlormethiazide, chlormadinone, amitriptyline, diclofenac, glibenclamide, simvastatin and warfarin do not change the free fraction of tamsulosin in human plasma in vitro. In turn, tamsulosin also does not change the free fractions of diazepam, propranolol, trichlormethiazide and chlormadinone.
In vitro studies showed no interaction at the level of hepatic metabolism with amitriptyline, salbutamol, glibenclamide and finasteride. Diclofenac and warfarin may increase the elimination rate of tamsulosin.
Concomitant administration of other β1-adrenergic receptor antagonists may lead to a hypotensive effect.

Terms of sale in pharmacies.

The drug is available with a prescription.

Storage conditions for the drug Omnic okas.

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Shelf life: 3 years.

Omnic is a drug that is effectively used to treat impaired urinary dysfunction accompanied by benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The active substance - tamsulosin - does not affect the muscles of the walls of blood vessels, thereby not subjecting the body to a decrease in blood pressure. The mechanism of action of the drug leads to relaxation of the smooth muscle fibers of the neck and bladder, which enhances the urine stream even with a significant volume of the prostate gland. There is no such effect on the walls of blood vessels due to the pronounced selectivity of tamsulosin.

There is a subtype of alpha adrenergic receptors in the vessels - alpha 1 B receptors; taking alpha 1 A - blockers does not cause a significant decrease in blood pressure in patients.

Clinical and pharmacological group

α1-adrenergic receptor blocker; a drug for the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Conditions for dispensing from pharmacies

Dispensed with a doctor's prescription.

Prices

How much does Omnic cost in pharmacies? The average price in 2018 is 400 rubles for 10 capsules.

Release form and composition

Omnic is produced in the form of modified-release hard gelatin capsules (size No. 2, orange body marked “701” and olive green cap marked “0.4”). The capsules contain:

  • Active substance – 0.4 mg tamsulosin hydrochloride (in the form of white granules with a light yellow tint);
  • Auxiliary components - calcium stearate, indigotine, gelatin, red iron oxide, polysorbate 80, talc, MCC, yellow iron oxide, titanium dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, methacrylic acid copolymer (type C), triacetin.

In blisters of 10 pcs., 1 or 3 blisters per box.

Pharmacological effect

Omnic is a specific blocker of alpha1-adrenergic receptors located in the smooth muscle fibers of the prostatic urethra, bladder neck and prostate gland. The use of the drug helps to reduce the tone of the smooth muscles of the urethra, bladder and prostate gland, which leads to a significant improvement in urine outflow.

The active component of the drug has high selectivity (does not affect the smooth muscle fibers of the vascular walls), due to which the drug does not provoke a systemic decrease in blood pressure.

Omnic has 100% bioavailability. The maximum concentration of the active substance in the blood is observed 6 hours after oral administration. The drug and its metabolites are excreted exclusively by the kidneys. Approximately 9% of the drug is excreted unchanged. The half-life of the drug is from 10 to 13 hours.

Indications for use

Dysuric disorders in benign prostatic hyperplasia (treatment).

Omnik - okas and Omnik: what is the difference?

Omnic has an undesirable side effect: retrograde ejaculation (rejection of sperm into the bladder during orgasm).

Since Omnic-Ocas, due to its structure, has a gradual release of the medicinal substance, normal ejaculation is maintained. Therefore, Okas is justified for use in men who have a fairly active sex life, and for whom the fact of the presence of ejaculate at the end of sexual intercourse is important.

Please note that most often in treatment regimens for exacerbation of prostatitis, tamsulosin is prescribed in a short course, from 10 days to 1 month, so it is convenient to buy the Okas form in packaging for exactly 10 days. The disadvantages of Okas include the price; it costs more than a regular Omnic.

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to the constituent components of the drug;
  • severe liver failure;
  • orthostatic hypotension (a drop in pressure with a sudden change in body position).

The use of Omnic requires caution in patients with severe renal failure.

Dosage and method of administration

The instructions for use indicate that Omnic should be taken 1 capsule (0.4 mg) once a day. The drug capsule should be swallowed whole without chewing.

Side effects

When conducting therapy using Omnic capsules, the following side effects were rarely observed:

  1. From the reproductive organs: retrograde ejaculation.
  2. From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, stool disorders.
  3. From the skin: urticaria, itching, angioedema.
  4. From the central nervous system: dizziness, headache, general weakness (very rare).
  5. From the cardiovascular system: tachycardia, orthostatic hypotension.

Overdose

In clinical practice, there have been no cases of acute intoxication with the drug Omnic. When using excessively high doses of the drug, the following symptoms can theoretically occur:

  • acute form of arterial hypotension;
  • compensatory tachycardia.

To treat the consequences of an overdose, it is recommended to have the patient lie down and administer vasoconstrictor and volume replacement drugs. To prevent further absorption of the active element, you can rinse the stomach and take sorbents or osmotic laxatives. Kidney function should also be constantly monitored.

special instructions

Before you start using the drug, read the special instructions:

  1. Use with caution in patients prone to arterial hypotension and with severe liver dysfunction.
  2. Before starting tamsulosin therapy, the patient should be assessed for the presence of other diseases that may cause the same symptoms as benign prostatic hyperplasia. Before starting treatment and regularly during therapy, a digital rectal examination and, if required, determination of prostate specific antigen should be performed. In patients with impaired renal function, no change in dosage regimen is required.

During the treatment period, it is necessary to refrain from engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions.

Drug interactions

When using the drug, it is necessary to take into account interactions with other medications:

  1. Diclofenac and indirect anticoagulants slightly increase the rate of elimination of tamsulosin.
  2. In vitro studies showed no interaction at the level of hepatic metabolism with amitriptyline, salbutamol, glibenclamide and finasteride.
  3. With simultaneous use of tamsulosin with cimetidine, a slight increase in the concentration of tamsulosin in the blood plasma was noted, and with furosemide, a decrease in concentration; with other α1-blockers, a pronounced increase in the hypotensive effect is possible.
  4. Other α1-blockers, acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, alprostadil, anesthetics, diuretics, levodopa, antidepressants, beta-blockers, slow calcium channel blockers, muscle relaxants, nitrates and ethanol may increase the severity of the hypotensive effect.

Omnic Okas, as a drug of urological properties, is aimed at the treatment of pathologies of a dysuric nature against the background of chronic benign, non-life-threatening hyperplasia (hypertonicity of muscle tissue) in the prostate gland. The effect of using the drug is noticeable after two weeks of use: tension in the smooth tissues and muscles of the prostate, the connections of the bladder and the narrow part of the urethra decreases, as a result of which the process of urination becomes easier and other symptoms of the disease disappear.

Omnic Okas is produced in the form of round-shaped tablets with biconvex sides. Shell color is dark yellow. One of the two sides is embossed “04”.

The tablets are coated with a special soluble coating, which provides controlled (step-by-step) release of the molecules of the active component.

The tablets consist of:

  • active substance tamsulosin hydrochloride – 400 mcg;
  • macrogol 8000 – 40 mg;
  • magnesium stearate – 1.2 mg;
  • macrogol 7,000,000 – 200 mg.

The shell consists of:

  • opdray yellow 03F22733 – 7.25 mg:
  • hypromellose – 69.5%;
  • yellow iron oxide dye – 17.5%;
  • macrogol 8000 – 13%.

The drug is sold in pharmacies in cardboard packages containing tablets in quantities of 10 pieces (1 blister) and 30 pieces (3 blisters).

The drug is positioned as an alpha-adrenergic receptor blocker, resulting in the symptomatic treatment of painful tension in the tissues and muscles of the prostate.

The drug has alpha-adrenolytic and antidysuric effects:

  1. Alpha1A-adrenoreceptors: the main substance of the drug has a blocking effect on postsynaptic adrenoreceptors of this group of smooth lacteal compounds of the prostate, urethra and bladder tissue. Tamsulosin has a relaxing effect on smooth muscles and prostate tissue and has a positive effect on urine excretion. At the same time, other unpleasant symptoms associated with regular tension of the tissues of the sensitive gland disappear.
  2. Alpha1B adrenergic receptors: the use of tamsulosin has no effect on blood pressure levels, because the active substance does not sufficiently affect the smoothed muscles of the vascular system.

As a rule, the therapeutic effect of Omnic Ocas is noticed after 10-14 days of regular use of the drug.

The drug is based on the blocking effect of the active component tamsulosin, which is a special counteracting blocker of postsynaptic A1-adrenergic receptors. The blocking property of tamsulosin is determined by its commonality with the subtypes of adrenergic receptors Alpha1A and Alpha1D, which relax the smooth muscle junctions of the urinary organs and the prostate gland.

Daily oral consumption of one tablet containing 400 mcg of tamsulosin reduces muscle tension in smooth tissues, which facilitates the process of urination, and eliminates the occurrence of pathologies associated with delayed excretion of urine from the body.

Prostate adenoma cannot be completely cured even with long-term therapy with Omnic Okas, but the accompanying symptoms and ailments are eliminated.

A single dose of Omnic Okasa in some cases can provoke hypothermia (low blood pressure) due to a decrease in peripheral resistance, however, regular use of such an Alpha1A-adrenergic receptor antagonist does not affect blood pressure fluctuations.

One tablet has the ability for controlled (stage-by-stage) release of the active substance tamsulosin from the tablet. This tablet is produced on the basis of a matrix in combination with a non-ionic gel. Thus, taking one daily dose of Omnic Okasa ensures a long-term (almost a day), uniform and unhurried release of tamsulosin, minimizing fluctuations in highly concentrated plasma clots.

Only 57-60% are absorbed in the intestine when absorbing the components of the Omnic Ocas drug.

Tamsulosin is absorbed by the body in several stages and is characterized by sequential (alternate) pharmacokinetics, and certain conditions must be met:

  1. The drug is absorbed properly regardless of the amount of food taken or the time of its consumption.
  2. If Omnic Ocas is used on an empty stomach, then the maximum possible plasma concentration of the active component is observed after approximately 5-6 hours.
  3. On the 4th day of taking the drug, you can observe the equilibrium amount of tamsulosin in relation to the quantitative value of its serum component. Moreover, the Cmax of the active component during this period is 11 ng/ml, although when you first take the medicine it is half as much.
  4. The minimum amount of tamsulosin is 35-40% of the maximum possible plasma concentration. During treatment with Omnic Ocas, individual quantitative Cmax values appear after long-term or one-time consumption of tamsulosin.
  5. The binding of tamsulosin to plasma proteins is 99% complete, with Vd equal to 0.2 l/kg.
  6. The action of tamsulosin is accompanied by unhurried metabolic changes in the liver, during which the least active metabolic products of tamsulosin are released.
  7. Various liver diseases do not require a special regimen for taking Omnic Ocas, or changes in its dosage.
  8. Tamsulosin does not change in plasma fluid.
  9. The drug does not affect the release of microsomal enzymes in the liver.

Approximately 5% of the drug is excreted from the body in its original form, the remaining breakdown products of tamsulosin are excreted by the kidneys.

T1/2 of a single dose of the Omnic Ocas tablet is 17-19 hours, while in this equilibrium state with long-term use of the drug it is 13-15 hours.

The drug "Omnic Ocas" is prescribed by specialists for prostate adenoma, when the disease has a pathological effect on the process of excretion of urine from the body.

Omnic Okas is indicated for use only by adult men, which excludes its use by women and children.

Products containing tamsulosin may be contraindicated, and the reasons can be divided into general and direct.

General contraindications include:

  • arterial hypotension;
  • patient hypersensitivity to the constituent components of Omnic Ocasa;
  • weakened kidney function.

Direct contraindications:

  • kidney dysfunction in an advanced stage;
  • orthostatic hypotension;
  • individual intolerance by the patient to the components of the drug and the main substance in particular.

During treatment with tamsulosin, it is strictly not recommended to abuse alcohol. Before using Omnic Okasa, you must undergo a series of laboratory tests prescribed by a specialist.

Carrying out therapeutic therapy with Omnic Ocas may be accompanied by the following adverse reactions:

  • various types of psychopathological disorders;
  • diarrhea and diarrhea;
  • intestinal obstruction;
  • ejaculation problems;
  • nasal congestion;
  • nausea and vomiting;
  • skin rashes and itching;
  • migraine;
  • dizziness and weakness.

The most rare adverse reactions are angioedema, priapism (painful erection for a long time) and fainting.

Special reactions have also been observed in patients who have undergone cataract surgery: constricted pupil syndrome.

The instructions for the drug “Omnic Ocas” state that you should take 1 tablet per day orally, with some water and without focusing on meal times.

The duration of treatment with tamsulosin has no time restrictions and does not require breaks.

It is not recommended to crush, chew or dissolve the tablet in order to avoid disruption of the process of sequential release of the active component, as well as a negative effect on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity and esophagus.

Symptoms of exceeding the dosage of the drug "Omnic Ocas" can be expressed in a decrease in blood pressure and compensatory tachycardia.

To stop the absorption of tamsulosin, which has already been administered orally, it is recommended to take measures to cleanse the gastrointestinal tract:

  • enema;
  • cleansing the stomach by lavaging it;
  • taking sorbents.

To restore blood pressure and heart rate, it is recommended to take a lying position and bring the body to a state of rest.

If this technique turns out to be ineffective, it is worth considering the option of taking drugs that regulate circulating blood volume (BCV) and vasoconstrictors.

During treatment with Omnic Ocas, renal function should be monitored to ensure proper elimination of tamsulosin breakdown products.

The drug "Omnic Ocas" in its composition does not have a mutual effect on the following drugs:

  • Amitriptyline (antidepressant);
  • Simvastatin (lowers cholesterol);
  • Warfarin (reduces blood clotting);
  • Propranolol (antiarrhythmic effect);
  • Diazepam (antidepressant, sleeping pill);
  • Glibenclamide (sugar-lowering effect);
  • Chlormadinone (oral contraceptive);
  • Trichlormethiazide (diuretic);
  • Diclofenac (antiviral, analgesic and antipyretic).

When Omnic Ocasa is combined with other alpha1-adrenergic receptor blockers, the hypotensive effect may be enhanced.

The combined use of Omnic Okasa with the drug Cimetidine can cause an increase in the plasma concentration of tamsulosin, and combined use with the drug Furosemide, on the contrary, can lead to a decrease in concentration. However, in both cases, you should not take measures to adjust the dosage of the drug, because the indicators will be within normal limits.

The combination of Omnic Ocas and Warfarin can lead to accelerated elimination of tamsulosin from the body.

General characteristics of the drug

Omnic and Omnic Okas are used to treat diseases of the urinary system. They help eliminate dysuria and other symptoms of prostate disease.

Characteristics of the drug Omnic

Omnic is capsules packed in blisters of 10 pcs. The capsule should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid. Thanks to the gelatin shell, the capsule passes through the esophagus and stomach and is absorbed in the intestines. Thus, the active substances are absorbed in the area most favorable for affecting the prostate, when maximum effectiveness is achieved.

In order for the medication to be better absorbed, it is taken at the same time. Doctors recommend taking the medication after breakfast. If there is food in the stomach, it increases the bioavailability of the medicine. Absorption of the active ingredients occurs after 5 hours. If the drug is used regularly, the therapeutic effect is observed already on the 6th day of administration: the required concentration of the active component tamsulosin is achieved in the body.

Description of the drug Omnic Okas

Omnic Okas has a similar composition, but the instructions for taking the drug are different. Tablets are taken 1 time per day, regardless of food intake. The tablets are coated and cannot be broken; they must be swallowed whole and washed down with boiled water. The drug is characterized by controlled absorption throughout the day, it dissolves in the intestines, and an equal volume of components is absorbed every hour. The highest concentration of the active substance in the blood is achieved after 14 days, when the therapeutic effect appears.

Okas tablets are distinguished by controlled dissolution of the active component throughout the day, which ensures a uniform concentration of the active substance during the entire treatment period. Capsules do not have such capabilities. When taking them, fluctuations in the concentration of the active substance are significant, especially at night.
