Pregnancy is a special condition for any Christian woman, especially in a spiritual sense. It doesn’t matter whether you were baptized at birth, at a conscious age, or have not yet had time to come to God, Orthodox prayers for pregnant women are reliable support and support in this difficult time.

Prayer for pregnant women

Prayer for pregnant women is, first of all, protection from bad people and evil forces - every mother, even an expectant one, wants to protect her child from dangers. And since before birth your baby is inextricably linked with you, you should protect yourself from damage, bad views. Therefore, the prayer for pregnant women against the evil eye is quite popular:

“Pure blood and heavenly, save and preserve the servant of God (state her name) from every evil eye, from someone else’s eye, from a woman’s, from a man’s, from a child’s, from a joyful, from a hated, from a slander, from a negotiation. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen". Then you should spit three times over your left shoulder. You need to read it three times.

Surely you have already felt that you have ceased to be lonely from the moment of conception - your baby is now always with you. That is why the prayer of a pregnant woman has double power. But to whom should we turn our requests, who should we ask for the successful course and outcome of the pregnancy?

Patrons. To whom and what prayers should pregnant women read?

Among all the saints who patronize and protect pregnant women, women most often turn to:

Holy Mother of God

Jesus Christ

Matrona

Venerable Melania of Rome

David Gareji

Joachim and Anna

Blessed Xenia of Petersburg

But most often there is a prayer for pregnant women to Matrona or the Virgin Mary.

The prayer of a pregnant woman before Matrona is as follows:

“Oh, blessed mother Matrona, we resort to your intercession and we tearfully pray to you... pour out a warm prayer for your servants, who are in deep sorrow and asking for help from you... May the Lord not completely forget us, but look down from the heights of heaven on the sorrow of His servants and the fruit of the womb bestows good things. Truly, God wants, so do the Lord to Abraham and Sarah, Zechariah and Elizabeth, Joachim and Anna, pray with him. This... the Lord God will do for us in His mercy... Amen.”

Matrona protects against miscarriages and illnesses of the child during pregnancy - in a word, she protects the expectant mother. Therefore, a prayer addressed to her when she is pregnant will certainly have the desired effect.

The prayer to the pregnant Mother of God is offered in the following form:

“Most Holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ... have mercy on Thy servant (name) and help in this hour so that her burden may be resolved safely. O all-merciful Lady Theotokos... give help to this Thy servant, who requires help, especially from You. I bow down to you, Mother of the Most High God... be merciful... the time has come for her to be a mother, and beg Christ our God, who has become incarnate from you, to strengthen her with His power from above. Amen".

God, be merciful to me, a sinner, Who created me, Lord, have mercy on me. Lord, grant me permission to glorify Your name: Thy will be done! Do with me according to Your mercy, and as you wish, arrange a thing for me. Amen.

Do not forget that regardless of the length and form, and this may well be the prayer of a pregnant woman - verse (God will hear you, no matter what language you communicate with him), a prayer to help pregnant women always works if offered with faith in the Lord .

Remember: despite the fact that there is always the opportunity to go to the hospital for preservation, the main amulet for pregnant women is prayer. For we are all where our thoughts are, and if your thoughts are directed towards God, then your pregnancy will go well, and the baby will be born strong and healthy.

Prayer before childbirth

The clock is ticking, only a few weeks or days remain until the baby is born - everything will happen soon. Soon you will become a mother. Of course, feelings and excitement are present, and a prayer for pregnant women before childbirth comes to the rescue:

“Lord Jesus Christ our God, born of the Eternal Father to the Son before all eternity... by the good will and assistance of the Holy Spirit, have mercy, according to Thy great mercy, on Thy servant (name), who is preparing to give birth according to Thy commandment. Forgive her voluntary and involuntary sins, grant her the strength to be safely relieved of her burden, keep her and the baby in health and well-being, protect them angels... from... evil spirits and all sorts of evil things. Amen".

Immediately before the birth itself, church ministers recommend that you continually pray - it doesn’t matter what prayers you read before giving birth, the main thing is that you remember that you are not alone - God is with you.

During labor or simply under nervous tension already in the hospital, it is sometimes difficult to remember long prayer verses, so a prayer before childbirth that is short enough to remember will be useful to you:

"Lord have mercy! God bless! Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner!”

It is advisable to repeat it continuously both before and during childbirth.

In order to somehow calm down before the final trip to the hospital, it is recommended to go to church before giving birth, get blessed by the priest for the pregnancy, as well as for its safe birth, and order a prayer service.

Before giving birth, you should clear your thoughts, open your mind to the Almighty, surrender to his power and hope for the best. Communion before childbirth is also desirable.

A prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos before childbirth helps to calm the heart and worried soul, the text of which fully corresponds to the text of the prayer to the Mother of God for a successful pregnancy.

How to pray to loved ones

Of course, the closer the cherished day of birth, the greater the excitement in the soul of both the woman in labor and her relatives. It is the prayer for the health of a pregnant woman that fully expresses the experiences of the family of the expectant mother.

A mother’s prayer for her pregnant daughter can be addressed to Melania the Roman, the Most Holy Theotokos, and Jesus Christ.

Prayer for a pregnant daughter is, in fact, the same prayer for the health of children.

A prayer for a pregnant wife will help a future father calm his thoughts:

“Oh, Most Glorious Mother of God, have mercy on Thy servant (wife’s name), come to her aid during the illnesses and dangers with which all the poor daughters of Eve give birth to children... grant (wife’s name) this grace so that the child who now rests under her heart, having come to her senses, with a joyful leap... she worshiped the Divine Lord the Savior, Who... did not disdain to become a Child Himself. Unspeakable joy... may it sweeten the sorrow that lies ahead (wife’s name) amidst the pains of birth. Amen".

Ask your husband not to leave you at such a crucial moment - let him offer prayers with you. After all, a husband’s prayer for his pregnant wife has special power, filled with love for his wife and child. Health to you and your children.

And do not forget: no matter what fate has in store for you, do not abandon your faith, pray, the Lord is with you.

Almighty God, Creator of everything visible and invisible! We, gifted with reason, come to You, beloved Father, because You, on special advice, created our race, with ineffable wisdom creating our body from the earth and breathing into it a soul from Your Spirit, so that we would be Your likeness. And although it was in Your will to create us at once, like the Angels, if only You wanted, yet Your wisdom was pleased that through husband and wife, in the order of marriage established by You, the human race would multiply; You wanted to bless people so that they would grow and multiply and fill not only the earth, but also the hosts of Angels.
O God and Father, may Your name be praised and glorified forever for all that You have done for us!
I also thank You for Your mercy, that not only I, by Your will, came from Your wonderful creation and am joining the number of the chosen ones, but that You deigned to bless me in marriage and sent me the fruit of the womb. This is Your gift, Your Divine mercy, O Lord and Father of spirit and body! Therefore, I turn to You alone and pray to You with a humble heart for mercy and help, so that what You are doing in me by Your power may be preserved and brought to a successful birth. For I know, O God, that it is not in the power and not in the power of man to choose our path: we are too weak and prone to fall to bypass all those snares that the evil spirit sets for us according to Your permission, and to avoid those misfortunes in which our frivolity plunges us into. Your wisdom is limitless. Whoever You wish, You will preserve unharmed through Your Angel from all adversity.
Therefore, I, merciful Father, commend myself in my sorrow into Your hands and pray that You look at me with the eye of mercy and save me from all suffering. Send me and my dear husband joy, O God, Master of all joy, so that, at the sight of Your blessing, we worship You with all our hearts and serve with a joyful spirit. I do not want to be taken away from what You have imposed on our entire race, commanding us to give birth to children in illness. But I humbly ask You to help me endure the suffering and send me a successful outcome. And if You hear this prayer of ours and send us a healthy, good child, then we swear to bring him again to You and dedicate him to You, so that You may remain for us and our seed a merciful God and Father, as we swear to always be Your faithful servants together with our child .
Hear, O Merciful God, the prayer of Your last servant, fulfill the prayer of our hearts for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior, who became incarnate for our sake, now abides with You and the Holy Spirit and reigns in eternity. Amen

Prayer during pregnancy
Pregnancy is a special, largely mysterious (spiritually and physically) state of a Christian woman. Try to pray more: pray in the morning and evening, when leaving for work or for a walk and returning home, pray before and after meals. The prayer sanctifies the life of the pregnant woman and the life of the unborn child; turning to the Lord, the Mother of God, the saints, the heavenly patron, the Guardian Angel helps in everyday difficulties, consoles the soul and leads to a state of inner peace and humility before the Creator - and this is so necessary for a pregnant woman.
A pregnant woman should regularly and often partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, since the communion of the Body and Blood of the Lord is not only saving for the pregnant woman, but also has a beneficial effect on the child in her womb.
A pregnant woman should drink holy water and eat prosphora in the morning as often as possible.
If possible, read a little of the Holy Scriptures, especially the New Testament, and other spiritual books, fortunately there are many of them now. At a service for a pregnant woman, especially in the later stages, it is, of course, better to pray sitting closer to the window or exit from the temple.
There is a pious custom to be blessed by a priest for pregnancy, and when the due date comes, for childbirth.
Naturally, pregnant women often turn to the Mother of God in prayer. There is an icon called “Helper in Childbirth.” Before this image they offer the following prayer:

O Most Glorious Mother of God, have mercy on me, Thy servant (name), come to my aid during my illnesses and dangers, with which all poor daughters of Eve give birth to children. Remember, O Blessed One among women, with what joy and love You went hastily to the mountainous country to visit Your relative Elizabeth during her pregnancy, and what a wonderful effect Your gracious visit had on both mother and baby. And according to Your inexhaustible mercy, grant me, Your most humble servant, to be freed from the burden safely; Grant me this grace, so that the child who now rests under my heart, having come to his senses, with a joyful leap, like the holy baby John, will worship the Divine Lord Savior, Who, out of love for us sinners, did not disdain to become a baby Himself. May the unspeakable joy with which Your virgin heart was filled at the sight of Your newborn Son and Lord, sweeten the sorrow that awaits me amidst the pains of birth. May the life of the world, my Savior, born of You, save me from death, which cuts off the lives of many mothers at the hour of resolution, and may the fruit of my womb be numbered among the elect of God. Hear, O Most Holy Queen of Heaven, my humble prayer and look upon me, a poor sinner, with the eye of Your grace; do not shame my trust in Your great mercy and overshadow me. Helper of Christians, Healer of illnesses, may I also be honored to experience for myself that You are the Mother of mercy, and may I always glorify Your grace, which has never rejected the prayers of the poor and delivers all who call on You in times of sorrow and illness. Amen.

INSTRUCTION TO A PREGNANT WOMAN
The Church's concern for pregnant and breastfeeding women is not limited to prayer support. With the blessing of their confessor, they can fast less strictly. If necessary, fasting before the Sacrament of Communion is reduced to several hours. It is advisable to make up for these relaxations in physical fasting by diligence in other good deeds (prayer, almsgiving, reading spiritual literature, etc.).
The main thing, of course, remains the personal faith and repentance of the parents. They are the ones who heal us and our children from sins and numerous ailments that are associated with them. Of great importance are the Church Sacraments (primarily confession, communion, unction and marriage), prayer in church and at home, the healing effect of shrines (holy water, oil, artos, etc.). Orthodox literature explains in detail the need for baptism, confirmation and genuine , informal churching of children. So, by the grace of God, Orthodox spiritual therapy in combination with rational medical treatment makes it possible to avoid the horrors of the “intrauterine Calvary”.
But what about those people who realized that the cause of their child’s illness lies within them? This question cannot be answered in a few words. First of all, you cannot despair. On the contrary, deep repentance and fervent prayer to God are needed. Sin cripples a person, but the grace of God heals him. For parents who are guilty before their child, it is doubly criminal to miss time for repentance and prayer.
For today, again and again, a miracle is being performed, which Saint John the Baptist told about: “...God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones” (Matthew 3:9). And then, for the piety of the parents, the Merciful Lord will tell their suffering children amazing words, once addressed to the tax collector Zacchaeus: “...Now salvation has come to this house, because he also is the son of Abraham, for the Son of Man has come to seek and save what was lost” (Luke 19:9 -10).

Prayers before childbirth
Before giving birth, first-time mothers develop fear - a natural reaction, a reaction of human self-preservation. How to reduce this fear? Everything from the hand of God must be accepted with humility and thanksgiving. It is necessary to remember that without the will of God even a hair from a human head cannot fall. For the Lord we live and die.
It is imperative to pray to the Lord to bless the birth. Having prayed and trusted in the will of God, then everything should be accepted without complaint, for there is no prayer that is not heard by the Lord.
On the eve of childbirth, you should pray for all the doctors who will take part in it: midwives, anesthesiologists, nurses, so that the Lord will help them in their work. Until the very moment of childbirth, pray with incessant short prayers: “Lord, have mercy! God bless! Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner!”
If the midwife insists that you remove the cross before giving birth, then try to convince her so that she does not force you to do this, as a person of the Orthodox faith. But if you see irritation, if an argument or quarrel flares up, in this case it is better to remove the cross, or hang it on your hand or finger, or ask that this cross be placed next to you during childbirth.

Prayer for a wife before giving birth to the Lord Jesus Christ
Lord Jesus Christ our God, born of the Eternal Father to the Son before the ages and in the last days, by the good will and assistance of the Holy Spirit, He deigned to be born of the Most Holy Virgin as a child, given birth and laid in a manger, the Lord Himself, who in the beginning created man and yoked woman to him, having given them a commandment: grow and multiply and fill the earth, have mercy, according to Thy great mercy, on Thy servant (name) who is preparing to give birth according to Thy commandment. Forgive her voluntary and involuntary sins, by Thy grace grant her the strength to be safely relieved of her burden, keep this and the baby in health and well-being, protect them with Thy angels and save them from the hostile action of evil spirits, and from all evil things. Amen.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos for a wife before childbirth
Most Holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, who weighed the birth and nature of mother and child, have mercy on Thy servant (name) and help at this hour so that her burden may be resolved safely. O all-merciful Lady Theotokos, even though You did not require help in the birth of the Son of God, grant help to this Thy servant, who requires help, especially from You. Grant her blessings at this hour, and grant her the birth of a child and bring her into the light of this world at the right time and the gift of intelligent light in holy baptism with water and spirit. We fall down to you, Mother of the Most High God, praying: be merciful to this mother, the time has come for her to be a mother, and beg Christ our God, who has become incarnate from you, to strengthen her with His power from above. Amen.

Amen.

Standing at the place of your burial, before your holy image, as if you were alive and present with us, we pray to you: accept our petitions and bring them to the throne of the merciful Heavenly Father, as you have boldness towards Him, ask for eternal salvation for those who flow to you, for good deeds and Our undertakings are a generous blessing, deliverance from all troubles and sorrows. Prayer for children

God and Father, Creator and Preserver of all creatures! I thank You for the fruits You have given me through Your blessing, I sincerely pray to You. Since You said that You would send down Your Holy Spirit to all who ask You for It, bless Your children (names) with Your Holy Spirit, so that He will kindle in them the true fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom and direct prudence, according to which anyone acts. praise endures forever.

Bless them with true recognition of You, keep them from all idolatry and false teaching, make them grow in true saving faith and in all piety, and may they abide in them constantly, to the end.

Grant them a believing, obedient, humble heart and wisdom and mind, so that they may grow in years and in grace before God and before people. Plant in their hearts love for Your Divine Word, so that they will be reverent in prayer and worship, respectful to elders, modest in body movements, chaste in morals, truthful in words, faithful in deeds, diligent in studies, happy in the performance of their duties and positions , reasonable in everything, meek and kind to people.

Keep them from all the temptations of the evil world, and let not the evil community corrupt them. Do not allow them to fall into impurity and unchastity, do not shorten their own lives, and do not offend others.

Be their protection in any danger, so that they do not suffer sudden death. Make it so that we do not see in them dishonor and shame for ourselves, but honor and joy, so that Your Kingdom may be multiplied by them and the number of believers will increase, and may they be in heaven around Your table, like heavenly olive branches, and may they reward You with all the elect honor, praise and glorification through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

During pregnancy
Prayerful sighs of a Christian wife during pregnancy to the Lord Jesus Christ.

First prayer.
Almighty, miracle-working, merciful God! Creator and Preserver of heaven and earth and all creatures, Who Himself pronounced a blessing on all Christian spouses: grow and multiply! And one more thing: this is the inheritance from the Lord: children, the fruit of the womb, a reward from Him. I thank You that You have made me a partaker of this blessing and Your gift in my marital state, and I pray to You that you will deign to bless the fruit of the womb that You have given me, to bless and bless it with Your Holy Spirit, to accept it into the number of Your beloved children and make it a partaker of the Holy Spirit. the sacraments of the church of Your beloved Son, my Lord Jesus Christ, so that through this he may be sanctified and cleansed from the poisonous infection of hereditary sin in which he was conceived. Lord God! I and the fruit of my womb are children of wrath by nature, but You, beloved Father, have mercy on us, and sprinkle the fruit of my womb with hyssop, so that it will be clean, wash it, and it will be whiter than snow. Strengthen and preserve him in the womb until the hour when he must be born. This fruit of my womb was not hidden from You, when it was formed in the womb, Your hands formed it, You gave it life and breath, and let Your supervision preserve them. Keep me from fear and fright and from evil spirits who would like to damage and destroy the work of Your hands. Grant him a rational soul, and make sure that his body grows healthy and undefiled, with whole, healthy members, and when the time and hour comes, let me through Your mercy. Grant me strength and strength for birth, speed him up with Your almighty help and ease my suffering, because this is Your work, the miraculous power of Your omnipotence, the work of Your mercy and mercy. Remember the word You spoke: You brought me out of the womb; I am committed to You from birth; from my mother's womb You are my God; You laid me to rest at my mother's breast. You are God, knowing and seeing the needs of all people; You said: when a woman gives birth, she suffers sorrow, because her hour has come.

God! For the sake of this heartfelt compassion of Yours and for the sake of Your heart filled with pity, I pray to You, deign to ease my sorrow, which You foresaw, and bring into the world the fruit of my womb, with a healthy, living body and intact, well-formed members. I entrust it to You, in Your almighty, fatherly hands, in Your mercy and mercy, and I place it, Lord Jesus Christ, in Your holy embrace, may you bless this fruit of my womb, as You blessed the children brought to You when you spoke : “Let the children in and do not hinder them from coming to me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Savior! So I bring to You this fruit of my womb; lay Your gracious hand on him. Bless him with the finger of Your Holy Spirit and grace him, when he comes into this world, with holy, blessed baptism; sanctify and renew him to eternal life through regeneration, make him a member of Thy holy body and Thy holy Christian church, so that Thy praise may be uttered from his lips, and he will be and forever remain a child and heir of eternal life, through the holy, Your bitter suffering and Your death and Your holy name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Second prayer.
Lord Jesus Christ our God, born of the Eternal Father to the Son before the ages and in the last days, by the good will and assistance of the Holy Spirit, He deigned to be born of the Most Holy Virgin as a child, given birth and laid in a manger, the Lord Himself, who in the beginning created man and yoked woman to him, having given them a commandment: grow and multiply and fill the earth, have mercy on me, according to Your great mercy, Your servant (name), who is preparing to give birth according to Your commandment. Forgive me voluntary and involuntary sins, by Your grace grant me the strength to safely be relieved of my burden, keep me and the baby in health and well-being, protect me from Your angels and save me from the hostile action of evil spirits, and from all evil things. Amen.

Prayer three.
Almighty God, Creator of everything visible and invisible! We resort to You, beloved Father, gifted with the intelligence of creatures, because You, on Your own advice, created our race, with ineffable wisdom creating our body from the earth and breathing into it a soul from Your Spirit, so that we could be Your likeness. And although it was Your will to create us at once, like the angels, if only You wanted, yet Your Wisdom was pleased that through husband and wife, in the order of marriage established by You, the human race would multiply; You wanted to bless people so that they would grow and multiply and fill not only the earth, but also the hosts of angels. O God and Father, may Your name be glorified and glorified forever for all that You have done for us! I also thank You for Your mercy, that not only I, by Your will, came from Your wonderful creation and fill the number of the elect, but that You deigned to bless me in marriage and sent me the fruit of the womb. This is Your gift, Your Divine mercy, O Lord and Father of spirit and body! Therefore, I turn to You alone and pray to You with a humble heart for mercy and help, so that what You are doing in me by Your power may be preserved and brought to a successful birth. For I know, O God, that it is not in the power and not in the power of man to choose his own path; we are too weak and prone to fall to escape all those snares that the evil spirit sets for us by Your permission, and to avoid those misfortunes into which our frivolity plunges us. Your wisdom is limitless. Whoever You wish, You will preserve unharmed through Your Angel from all adversity. Therefore, I, Merciful Father, commend myself in my sorrow into Your hands and pray that You look at me with the eye of mercy and save me from all suffering. Send me and my dear husband joy, O God, Master of all joy! May we, seeing Your blessing, worship You with all our hearts and serve You with a joyful spirit. I do not want to be taken away from what You imposed on our entire race, commanding us to give birth to children in illness. But I humbly ask You to help me endure the suffering and send me a successful outcome.

Hear, O Merciful God, the prayer of Your last servant, fulfill the prayer of our hearts, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Who became incarnate for our sake, now abides with You and the Holy Spirit and reigns in eternity. Amen.

Thanks
Thanksgiving for every good deed of God

Troparion, tone 4
Give thanks to Thy unworthy servants, O Lord, for Thy great good deeds upon us; we glorify Thee, bless, thank Thee, sing and magnify Thy compassion, and slavishly cry out to Thee in love: O our Benefactor, glory to Thee.

Kontakion, tone 3
We, as servants of indecency, have been honored with Your blessings and gifts, O Master, who diligently flow to You, we offer thanksgiving according to our strength, and we glorify You, as the Benefactor and Creator, crying out: Glory to You, All-Bountiful God.

Prayer 1
We thank Thee, Lord our God, for all Thy good deeds, even from the first age to the present, in us, Thy unworthy servants (names), who were, known and unknown, about those revealed and unmanifested, even those who were in deed and in word: who loved us as and You deigned to give Your Only Begotten Son for us, making us worthy to be worthy of Your love. Grant with Your word wisdom and with Your fear inhale strength from Your power, and whether we have sinned, whether willingly or unwillingly, forgive and not impute, and keep our soul holy, and present it to Thy Throne, having a clear conscience, and the end is worthy of Thy love for mankind; and remember, O Lord, all who call upon Thy name in truth, remember all who desire good or evil against us: for all are men, and every man is in vain; We also pray to You, Lord, grant us Your great mercy.

Prayer 2
The Cathedral of Saints Angel and Archangel, with all the heavenly powers, sings to Thee and says: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts, heaven and earth are filled with Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. Save me, Who art thou King on high, save me and sanctify me, Source of sanctification; For from You all creation is strengthened, To You countless warriors sing the Trisagion hymn. Unworthy of you, who sits in the unapproachable light, whom everyone is terrified of, I pray: enlighten my mind, cleanse my heart, and open my lips, so that I may worthily sing to you: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord, always, now, and ever, and in endless centuries of centuries. Amen.

Prayer of thanksgiving for all God's blessings, St. John of Kronstadt

I thank Thee, Lord my God, for giving me existence, for giving me birth in the Christian faith, for the Most Pure Virgin Mary, Intercessor for the salvation of our race, for Thy saints praying for us, for the Guardian Angel, for public worship that supports us faith and virtue, for the Holy Scriptures, for the Holy Sacraments, and especially Your Body and Blood, for the mysterious grace-filled consolations, for the hope of receiving the Kingdom of Heaven and for all the blessings You have given me.

Song of praise in the likeness of the psalms of David (from the works of St. John of Kronstadt)

The Lord is my being; The Lord is deliverance from eternal death; The Lord is my eternal belly; The Lord is my cleansing and deliverance from many sins and my sanctification; The Lord is strength in my weakness, space in my crampedness, hope in my cowardice and despondency; The Lord is light in my darkness, peace in my confusion; The Lord is an intercessor in my temptations. He is my thinking, my desire, my activity; He is the light of soul and body, food, drink, my robe, my shield, my weapon. Everything is for me Lord!

Thanksgiving for the love of God and prayer for an increase in love for God.

Merciful, merciful, humane and good God! I thank You, Lover of Mankind, from the depths of my heart for Your great, inexpressible, fatherly love with which You, loving God and Father, have always loved me. You care about me, you hear my prayer, you number my tears, you see my sighs, you know all my sorrow. You gave me Your beloved Son through His incarnation, through the Holy Gospel He taught and comforted me, through His example you showed me the path and rule of holy life, through His suffering and death you redeemed me from eternal death, through His ascension into heaven you opened paradise to me and prepared a place in heaven. You enlightened me with Your Holy Spirit, sanctified me, comforted me, strengthened me, taught me and gave me joy, and through Him you confirmed me in the childhood of God and eternal inheritance. You not only showed me great benefits, but also gave me Yourself with Your beloved Son and Holy Spirit. How can I sufficiently thank You for this great love? Grant me such a heart that I will never forget Your love. Never let her fade away in my heart. Inflame my heart, enlighten my mind, sanctify my will, rejoice my memory and unite me with You forever!

Thanksgiving for God's help in danger and preservation from harm.

My God, I thank You that You have established my feet in Your paths, so that my steps do not stray. You have shown me Your wondrous mercy, You have preserved me like the apple of your eye, in the shadow of Your wings you have hidden me from the enemies of my soul who surround me. What will I repay to the Lord for all his good deeds to me? Blessed be O Lord, my God, who alone works miracles, and blessed be Thy holy name forever, and may the whole earth be filled with Thy glory! Amen.

Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity, St. John of Kronstadt
O Trinity, our God! Simple Being, who created our soul in Your image, so that in You we have our life and peace! O Trinity, our Nourisher and Hope! Give us in You alone to always place our hope, in You alone to find life and peace. About the Trinity! You, like a mother, carry us all in Your arms and feed us all from Your hands, like the most tender mother! You will never forget us, for You Yourself said: even if a woman forgets her childhood, I will not forget you - to nourish, preserve, protect, deliver and save

Song of praise to St. Ambrose of Milan

We praise God to you, we confess the Lord to you, the whole earth magnifies your eternal Father. To You all the angels, to You the heavens and all the powers, to You the unceasing voices of the cherubim and seraphim cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts, the heavens and earth are full of the majesty of Your glory. To you is the glorious apostolic face, to you the prophetic number of praise, to you is praised by the bright martyr’s army, to you throughout the entire universe the Holy Church confesses, the Father of incomprehensible majesty, the worship of your true and only begotten Son, and the Holy Comforter of the Spirit. You, the King of Glory Christ, You are the ever-present Son of the Father: You, having received man for the deliverance, did not disdain the Virgin’s womb. Having overcome the sting of death, you have opened the Kingdom of Heaven to believers. You sit at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father, the Judge is confident to come. We therefore ask you: help your servants, whom you have redeemed with your honest blood. Make it worthy to reign with Your saints in Your eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Lord, and bless Thy inheritance, I will correct and exalt them forever: we will bless Thee all the days, and we will praise Thy name forever and ever. Grant, Lord, that on this day we may be preserved without sin. Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us: may Thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we trust in Thee: in Thee, O Lord, do we trust, that we may not be ashamed forever. Amen.

Glory even now: Theotokos

Theotokos, Christian Helper, Your servants, having acquired Your intercession, cry out to You in gratitude: Rejoice, Most Pure Virgin Mother of God, and always deliver us from all our troubles with Your prayers, One who will soon intercede.

Song of praise to the Most Holy Theotokos
We praise you, Mother of God; We confess You, Mary, the Virgin Mother of God; The whole earth magnifies You, the Eternal Father's Daughter. All Angels and Archangels and all Principalities humbly serve You; All Powers, Thrones, Dominions and all the highest Powers of heaven obey you. The Cherubim and Seraphim stand before You rejoicing and cry out with an unceasing voice: Holy Mother of God, the heavens and earth are full of the majesty of the glory of the fruit of Your womb. The Mother praises the glorious apostolic face of her Creator to you; The Mother of God magnifies many martyrs for you; The glorious host of confessors of God the Word gives you a temple; To you the ruling Poles preach the image of virginity; All the heavenly hosts praise you, the Queen of Heaven. Throughout the entire universe the Holy Church glorifies you, honoring the Mother of God; He extols thee true King of heaven, the Maiden. You are the Angel Lady, You are the door of heaven, You are the ladder of the Kingdom of Heaven, You are the palace of the King of glory, You are the ark of piety and grace, You are the abyss of bounties, You are the refuge of sinners. You are the Mother of the Savior, you received freedom for the sake of a captive man, you received God in your womb. The enemy has been trampled upon by you; You have opened the doors of the Kingdom of Heaven to the faithful. You stand at the right hand of God; You pray to God for us, Virgin Mary, who will judge the living and the dead. We therefore ask You, Intercessor before Your Son and God, Who redeemed us with Your blood, so that we may receive the reward in eternal glory. Save Thy people, O Mother of God, and bless Thy inheritance, for let us be partakers of Thy inheritance; preserve and keep us even unto the ages. Every day, O Most Holy One, we wish to praise and please You with our hearts and lips. Grant, Most Merciful Mother, now and always to preserve us from sin; have mercy on us, Intercessor, have mercy on us. May Thy mercy be upon us, as we trust in Thee forever. Amen.

Prayer at the end of the task
You are the fulfillment of all good things, O my Christ, fill my soul with joy and gladness and save me, for I am the only one who is most merciful.

It is worthy to eat as you truly bless Theotokos, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. We magnify You, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption.

Childbirth is one of the most important events in the life of every woman, however, thoughts about the process itself are often clouded by the fear of experiencing pain. As with any important event, you should thoroughly prepare for childbirth. But is it enough to have only physical training? Of course, every believing woman should take care of the spiritual component of the upcoming sacrament.

A true believer woman realizes that she can safely give birth to a child with God’s help, which means she needs to read prayers and ask the Lord to give her strength and health to her unborn baby. Before giving birth, you should definitely visit church, if possible, attend the service, confess and receive communion. Why is this necessary? A woman during pregnancy is closer to God than ever before; she performs the main function of her life - preparing to become a mother. Accordingly, she has a double responsibility.

A child was given by the Lord, it is worth understanding that this is not only a natural physiological process of procreation, it is a reward for which one should be grateful. The best manifestation of your gratitude is prayer. Our spiritual mentors say that you should pray at any free moment, therefore, before important moments in life, it is especially important and necessary to do this.

In past centuries, medicine was in its infancy, minimal assistance could be provided to a woman in labor, so women relied only on God’s help. The modern world provides us with many guarantees that childbirth will take place at a high level, with full medical support, so many women, being adherents of the Christian faith, simply ignore the church, without thinking about spiritual preparation for childbirth.

Prayer throughout pregnancy protects the woman in labor, instills faith in her, and strengthens her fortitude. If you don’t know what prayers to read and which saint you should turn to, then the answer is quite logical - you should definitely visit the nearest temple. Prayers in front of the icons of the Mother of God have their own special power and can work real miracles. The Virgin Mary gave birth to Christ, experiencing the same pangs of childbirth as each of the women on earth. She will hear all those in need, listen to prayers, and give a helping hand to true believers. Remember that you are responsible for the life of the unborn child, therefore, it is important to introduce him to the temple while he is still in the mother’s womb.

The Holy Scripture says that God forms a child in the womb of the mother, which is why it is so important to be “pure” in thoughts and deeds during the period of bearing a baby. When you are about to give birth, you should confess, tell your spiritual mentor about all your sins, and pray for the innocent soul of the child, pure as a tear.

Turning to the Lord before childbirth is a sign of your sincere desire to be a worthy parent who cares not about the mortal physical, but, first of all, about the spiritual, lofty.

Children are a heritage and a blessing from the Lord, these are not just wise words from the Bible, they are a simple truth that is worth carrying throughout your life. The child must come into the world with the help of the mother’s prayer, then he will have protection, because, according to the Holy Scriptures, a baby born to true believing parents is sanctified.

Fear of childbirth

Most women experience a terrible fear of childbirth, especially if it is their first child. Those who have had a difficult experience of painful contractions also worry about repeated pain. I want to prepare myself so that I can feel more confident. Some people intensively study information on the topic, while others ask for God’s help, never tired of praying to the Lord and realizing that they cannot cope any other way.

Believing young ladies pray both during preparation for conceiving a fetus, and when carrying a baby, and even directly during childbirth. The Holy Fathers say that it is necessary to turn to God constantly, every moment, every free minute. During contractions, prayer involuntarily calms and helps relieve pain.

Preparation for childbirth should include not only a physical, but also a spiritual aspect. That is, a pregnant woman should go to church before giving birth, attend a service, and confess.

Childbirth can be accompanied by unforeseen complications, and doctors are not omnipotent in all situations. Only God is omnipotent. According to our faith it will be for us. This is confirmed by numerous cases where prayer during childbirth gave miracles. The unbearable pain subsided, and severe bleeding stopped.

Prayers before childbirth

Prayer before childbirth to the Lord Jesus Christ

Amen.

Prayer is an assistant in childbirth

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Icon of the Mother of God
""Assistant in childbirth""

Most Holy Virgin, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, who weighed the birth and nature of mother and child, have mercy on Thy servant (name), and help in this hour, that her burden may be resolved safely. O All-Merciful Lady Theotokos, even though You did not require help in the birth of the Son of God, grant help to this Thy servant, who requires help, especially from You. Grant her blessings at this hour, and give birth to a child like her and bring her into the light of this world; grant her, at the right time, the gift of light in holy baptism with water and spirit. We fall down before you, Mother of the Most High God, praying: Be merciful to this mother, the time has come for her to be a mother, and beg Christ our God, who has become incarnate from you, to strengthen you with His power from above. For His power is blessed and glorified, with His Beginningless Father, and His Most Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus Christ, our God, begotten of the Eternal Father by the Son before the ages and in the last days, by the good will and assistance of the Holy Spirit, deigned to be born of the Most Holy Virgin as a child, given birth and laid in a manger. The Lord Himself, who in the beginning created man and woman, bound him, giving them the commandment: Grow and multiply, and fill the earth; According to Your great mercy, have mercy on Your servant (name), who is preparing to give birth according to Your commandment. Forgive her voluntary and involuntary sins, by Thy grace grant her the strength to be safely relieved of her burden, keep her and the baby in health and well-being, protect me with Thy Angels and save her from the hostile action of evil spirits, and from all evil things. For You are a Good and Lover of Mankind, and we send glory to You, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Conspiracies and customs

Do not forget that at the time of birth you should untie all the knots on the clothes, unfasten the locks, buttons, undo the hair and unlock the padlocks. They read the spells between contractions and stroke themselves on the stomach from top to bottom, and then on the sides.
1.Christ was born, and we are expecting a baby. Amen.

2. While the candle burns out, she will give birth. Amen.

3.Isaiah, rejoice the human race through our Savior Christ. Amen.

4.Jesus Christ in heaven, living soul in calves, may my words be molded, strong, lighter than stone, lighter than a sharp knife, lighter than a damask knife. Teeth, key, mouth, lock. Lord, accept my spirit. Amen.

5. Mother of God, stand at the head of the bed, light a candle not for peace, light a candle for health. Guardian Angel, deliverer of sufferers, save, save. Save the slave (name) from death. Amen.

6. As the waters begin to flow, let the woman in labor say:
I trust the Mother of God, in her arms.
Take the pain away from me, Mother.
Save, preserve and protect, help me during childbirth.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

7. In case of prolonged torment, you should turn out your husband’s trousers, lay them on the floor and, standing with your back to them, step over them, as if backing away. At the same time they say:
Don’t walk, spool, in the womb,
don't look for the baby, he's here,
he goes - his mother and father are waiting.
The Mother of God blesses, the womb releases into the light.

8. When labor has gone on too long, you need to sprinkle water from your mouth onto the woman in labor and say:
Water from your mouth, baby from you.

9.Put a couple of testicles in a mug of water and say:
Like a hen laying eggs easily,
So would you, slave (name),
The child brought it easily.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Then give a spoonful of this water to the woman in labor. She will give birth quickly and easily.

10. They put a thimble on the ring finger and cross the navel of the woman in labor with it, saying:
Iron door, unlock the bolt.
Stone mountain, golden domes,
holy crosses,
Lord bless
Pierce the waters, begin childbirth, whom God gives.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

11.If it is unbearable to endure the long agony of childbirth, let the woman in labor turn in the direction where the sun is in the sky, and if it is night, then the moon. She needs to cross herself three times and say this:
Oh my God,
I, slave (name), stand in front of you.
There are two thrones before me,
On those thrones sit Jesus and the Mother of God,
They look at my tears.
Blessed Mother Theotokos
Holds golden keys
she opens meat caskets,
releases the baby from the womb:
from my flesh, from my hot blood.
Lord, take away the aches,
pinches, visceral pain!
How the Mother of God gave birth without torment, without pain,
open the bone gates.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

12. The woman in labor crosses herself three times and says:
I will cross myself three times,
I will be blessed by God.
Queen of Heaven, I will pray to You.
Take the golden keys,
open the mountains of meat, shed blood,
and for me, slave (name), let me hold the baby in my arms
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
