Flaxseed oil is Russian gold. Flaxseed oil: benefits and harm to the body

Good afternoon, dear readers. Today we will talk about flaxseed oil again, you will find out whether there are any real benefits from its use, whether it can cause harm to the body, and most importantly, how to take it correctly.

I already have a whole series of articles devoted to this topic, so as not to repeat myself and write the same thing, I will simply give you links to them in this article. You can also use it.

The benefits of flaxseed oil - myth or reality

The benefits of flaxseed oil for the human body have long been studied and are not subject to any doubt. This is not a myth, but a very real reality, which hundreds of thousands of people around the world have already understood.

When used correctly, this product simply works wonders. Let's see what's so good about taking flax seed oil:

  1. The first and most important valuable quality of flaxseed oil is that it is a source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. And the content of important omega-3 PUFAs in flaxseed oil is even higher than in the hated fish oil, known to everyone since childhood.
  2. Secondly, flaxseed does little to normalize metabolism, it is very good to take it for the prevention of such complex diseases as diabetes, atherosclerosis, ischemia and other heart diseases
  3. Third, flax seed oil is indispensable for weight loss. If you have set a goal to lose weight, then be sure to use it as an aid. I wrote in more detail about the use of flaxseed oil for weight loss. The secret of such a magical effect on the body lies in the fact that the polyunsaturated fatty acids contained in this oil are easily digestible, which means they contribute to the normalization of fat metabolism
  4. Fourth, regular intake of flaxseed oil is a good prevention of the formation of stones in the bile ducts, since it normalizes the functioning of the entire biliary system of the body
  5. Fifth, with the help of flaxseed oil you can improve the condition of your hair and skin. I wrote about the benefits of this product for women in an article
  6. Sixth, using oil correctly you can reduce blood pressure, reduce blood viscosity, and restore normal functioning of the nervous system. In addition, flaxseed oil is very useful for people with poor vision.
  7. Seventh – flax oil can be used to strengthen weak immunity, as well as in the fight against inflammatory processes in the body
  8. Flaxseed oil, in addition to this, it is also used for. I also have a couple of articles about this, read the links

Is flaxseed oil good for children?

Most doctors (I also count myself among them) are inclined to believe that flaxseed oil can also be used for children. It can be used:

  • for diaper rash in infants
  • for eczema
  • for dermatitis
  • for the treatment of runny nose

The dosage regimen and dosage for children is as follows:

  • from one year to 3 years - 1/2 teaspoon twice a day
  • From 3 years to 7 years – 1 teaspoon 2 times a day
  • From 7 to 14 years - 1 dessert spoon the same, twice a day

Older children can add oil to their food. The only important thing is that it is cold. Under no circumstances should you heat it.

The harm of flaxseed oil - truth or myth

I will say this, flaxseed oil can be harmful only in 3 cases:

  1. if you do not take into account contraindications when using it
  2. if you use an expired product or oil of too low quality
  3. if you use flax oil for other purposes, for example, fry food with it

As for point No. 1, here is my next article about contraindications to the use of flaxseed oil to help you. Read, remember, and if you find your case in the list of contraindications, then simply do not use it.

As for the use of an expired product for food or medicinal purposes, there is no need for comment. Just be more careful when purchasing. Expired or low-quality flaxseed oil is very easy to identify by taste - it is bitter.

Well, I think everyone knows that you can’t fry food in flaxseed oil. For those who don't know, help.

What else, in order to eliminate harm from consuming this product, you need to learn how to store it correctly, but it does not tolerate:

  • direct sunlight
  • heating
  • oxygen

I will go through each point in more detail.

When storing oil, you must avoid any exposure to the sun. To do this, you need to use dark glass containers, in addition, the storage location should also be dark.

I already talked about heating. Flaxseed oil is used only cold; when heated, it is poison.

Well, as for oxygen. This product must not be stored in open containers. The fact is that flax seed oil is subject to oxidation, which inevitably occurs when the oil interacts with air. As a result of oxidation, free radicals are formed, which do not bring anything good to the body. Therefore: only in a dark place, in a dark container and tightly closed!

How to take flaxseed oil - traditional medicine recipes

General health of the body

To satisfy the body's daily need for polyunsaturated fatty acids, 1-2 tablespoons of the product per day for adults and 1-2 teaspoons for children are enough. Moreover, you can take flaxseed oil for both medicinal and preventive purposes.

The most important thing in such therapy is regularity. The minimum treatment period is usually from one to two months. Only during this period can real positive dynamics be felt in the course of chronic diseases.

For heart disease, atherosclerosis

The healing product will be useful for patients suffering from atherosclerosis and thrombophlebitis, coronary heart disease and arterial hypertension.

Regular use will help in the prevention of heart attacks and strokes, including recurrent ones. For speedy rehabilitation, it will be useful for anyone who has suffered a stroke to take 1 capsule of fish oil every day after breakfast, and after dinner - 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil to saturate the body with healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

For varicose veins

A thick mixture is made from the zest of one lemon, 1 teaspoon of fresh parsley juice, half a teaspoon of fish oil and 2 teaspoons of cottage cheese and flaxseed oil.

The resulting paste should be applied to problem areas and left for 20 minutes without bandaging. Afterwards, the product is washed off with a warm decoction of parsley, and the skin is treated with any nourishing cream.

To lower cholesterol

To lower blood cholesterol levels, flaxseed oil is taken differently than usual - you don’t have to drink it. To do this, hold a tablespoon of the drug in the mouth for about 5-6 minutes, trying to swallow only saliva. Afterwards, the liquid is spat out and the mouth is rinsed with water.

The procedure is carried out in the morning, on an empty stomach. This will also help in the presence of inflammation in the oral cavity: this is how stomatitis, tonsillitis and manifestations of sore throat are treated.

For cholecystitis

The drug also has a healing effect in case of inflammation of internal organs: for example, with cholecystitis, a cholelithiasis that causes obstructed flow of bile.

Flax oil for chronic acalculous cholecystitis is drunk exclusively at the time of eating - 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day, for a period of 3-4 weeks. For chronic calculous cholecystitis, use is not recommended, as this can lead not only to the drainage of bile, but also to the displacement of stony formations in the gallbladder. This will definitely cause an exacerbation of the disease.

Liver cleansing

But the same dosage of flaxseed oil, but only in the morning and on an empty stomach, will help with cleansing the liver: taking it in the morning helps to better empty the gallbladder of the bile that has accumulated overnight, because it is at night that the liver is most active.

You can additionally consume fiber-rich flax seeds: they have the ability to absorb and remove toxins, which will greatly facilitate the work of the liver.

Use of flaxseed oil for diabetes

The ability of flax to reduce blood glucose levels is widely used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus and a number of associated diseases, such as diabetic polyneuropathy.

To stabilize the patient’s condition in this case, 1 teaspoon of oil on an empty stomach in the morning is enough. The course of therapy should be at least three months, after which you can take a break for 4-8 weeks.

With thick blood

With age, the blood acquires unnatural viscosity and thickness, which is extremely dangerous: an increased number of platelets in the blood is fraught with the development of such difficult diseases as cirrhosis of the liver, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, tuberculosis and others. To normalize the number of platelets, it is recommended to take flaxseed oil with benefit and without harm as early as possible according to the following recipe:

  • take dry 50 g of sweet clover grass, wild yam and goat's rue, willow bark and raspberry leaves, 30 g of black mulberry root and 100 g of mature horse chestnut fruits.
  • The resulting mixture is poured with flax oil (1 l) and left for 2 weeks. Take the drug 1 teaspoon 3 times a day before meals. Depending on the severity of the disease, the course of treatment will be from 2 to 4 months.
  • During this time, you need to stop drinking black tea and coffee, preferably drink mineral water and freshly squeezed juices. Lemon and tomato (without salt!) juices are especially useful in this case.

The use of flaxseed oil in oncology

The antitumor effect of the oil helps to avoid common cancer diseases: breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. For prevention, a total dose of 1-3 teaspoons per day is indicated.

In this case, a stable normalization of hormonal levels is observed. For men, the standard dose is 2 teaspoons per day. If the female body is predisposed to the development of benign neoplasms, such as ovarian cysts, the recommended daily dose is at least two tablespoons.

In this case, it is advisable to stop eating animal foods and supplement the diet with vegetables, fruits and seafood. It is better to replace carbonated drinks and coffee with green tea.

Treatment of mastopathy

Women suffering from mastopathy will find this recipe useful: grate half a bar of dark laundry soap and one medium-sized beeswax candle.

Pour this mixture with flaxseed fat (300 ml) and cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Then add 2 teaspoons of birch tar, mix and transfer the cooled product into a glass container with a tight lid.

The resulting ointment should be stored in a cool, dark place. Before use, mix the ointment (use only a wooden spoon) and apply an even layer to the tumor.

The treated area is covered with film, and the chest is additionally insulated with a woolen jacket or scarf. After 12 hours, the remaining ointment is carefully removed using a cotton swab dipped in an alcohol solution or vodka.

Nervous system disease, sclerosis

It has been proven that the composition of flax protects nerve cells and improves communication between nerve endings, which significantly reduces the risk of mental illness, strengthens memory, promotes concentration and brain activity.

To avoid the development of sclerosis and atherosclerosis, you need to take flaxseed oil twice a day - morning and evening - 1 tablespoon for a course of one and a half months. After a 4-week break, therapy should be repeated.

For diseases of the gastrointestinal tract

Most nutritionists unanimously recommend flax as a means to improve the functioning of the digestive organs: in this case, there is an acceleration of fat metabolism and improved intestinal motility. As a result, the body quickly gets rid of accumulated waste and toxins.

This allows you to take flaxseed oil for constipation, as a mild laxative, useful for cleansing the intestines: you need to drink it one tablespoon a day after meals.

In the acute stage of gastric ulcer, it is recommended to use a product consisting of three types of oils - flaxseed (50 ml), St. John's wort (30 ml) and sea buckthorn (70 ml). Before use, this mixture should be thoroughly shaken and drunk - 1 tablespoon immediately before meals.

Flax oil is recommended for gastritis with high acidity, because taken on an empty stomach, it promotes the healing of erosions and tissue regeneration on the gastric mucosa, normalizes the production of gastric juice and relieves heartburn. It is also useful to season salads, appetizers and cold vegetable soups with it.

Joint pain

To relieve pain and relieve inflammation in the joints, you can use a simple ointment based on flaxseed oil and propolis: take 10 g of crushed propolis for 0.5 liters of fat. The mixture is placed in an enamel bowl and, stirring, heated in a water bath to 70 °C. After it is cooled, filtered and the finished ointment is rubbed into the sore joint.

For inflammatory arthrosis, this recipe is supplemented with a component such as gum turpentine (based on beef bone fat) and the proportions are slightly changed: for 4 parts (by weight) of crushed flax seed, take 1 part of propolis and turpentine. The resulting mixture is rubbed into the joint with gentle massage movements.

It is good to alternate this procedure with the use of another ointment, which is also prepared on the basis of beef fat: to 10 parts of wax add 2 parts of propolis, 3 parts of grated horseradish and 0.5 parts of bee venom. After treatment with these drugs, it is recommended to apply Dikul ointment (sold at the pharmacy) to the sore spot.

The use of flaxseed oil for thyroid diseases

Currently, thyroid pathologies occur in a wide variety of segments of the population - this is an extremely common phenomenon. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the disease does not manifest itself immediately and often takes on an advanced form.

Treatment of the thyroid gland with folk remedies using flax oil gives very good results at all stages of the disease: you can not only normalize the functions of the gland, but also prevent possible deviations in the functioning of this important organ.

It has been noted that omega-3 fatty acids contained in flax help in the absorption of iodine by the body. The use of the product in this case can be both external and internal.

Universal tincture for many diseases

How to take flaxseed oil internally with maximum benefit and without harm for thyroid diseases? There is a simple but effective recipe:

  • 100 grams of crushed walnut kernels are poured with 1 liter of linseed oil and left for at least two weeks in a dark place.

You should drink this tincture 1 tablespoon in the morning, on an empty stomach. It is universal and saves from many diseases: gangrene, erysipelas, hypertension, atherosclerosis, diabetes, high acidity of the stomach, liver, kidney and bladder diseases, chronic colitis. External compresses are no less effective: to prepare them you will need fresh juice from dandelion leaves and flax seed oil - in a 1:1 ratio.

The resulting product is moistened with a gauze bandage and applied to the thyroid gland area. The throat is wrapped in a terry towel or a warm scarf. You should keep the compress for about an hour, and after removing it, try to avoid drafts and hypothermia.

1 week ago That year I found interesting information about drone homogenate in one of the books. Then the book disappeared, and I couldn’t find it for six months. And then I found it. I will publish everything on my website. It has a good article about the treatment of infertility, giving the dosage and course of administration. 50% drone homogenate consists of the same components as royal jelly. According to the Beekeeping Research Institute (L.A. Burmistrova), the biological activity of the homogenate is superior to royal jelly in many respects. The method of taking drone homogenate for infertility has its own characteristics. Typically, treatment with bee products lasts 2-3 months, and, as a rule, pregnancy occurs 1 to 2 months from the start of treatment. If

Flax is a well-known and widespread plant, and also quite ancient. It is, perhaps, the very first crop that people began to cultivate in Ancient Egypt and India. For ten thousand years, flax has faithfully served man: it feeds, clothes, warms, heals and, of course, strengthens the human body. Such a faithful and reliable assistant!

Flax is cultivated, but it has not been found in the wild for a long time - it is an annual herbaceous plant with alternate whole leaves, small blue flowers and a fruit - a box in which there are seeds so valuable for the human body, a total of 10 small, smooth, shiny, oblong, flattened seeds. The birthplace of this unique plant is considered to be China, India and the Mediterranean.

Since time immemorial, people have used the medicinal properties of flax seeds. Mention of this amazing plant can be found in ancient manuscripts of Egypt, in the works of Avicenna and Hippocrates, in the recipes of Tibetan doctors, even in the “Selection of Grand Duke Svyatoslav Yaroslavich”. At first, the seeds themselves were used for medicinal purposes, making decoctions, infusions, etc. from them. But a long time ago, man learned to extract oil from flax seeds.

It was not possible to reliably establish when flax appeared on the territory of Russia. It is known that back in the days of Kievan Rus, dishes for the festive table were prepared with linseed oil and flour, and in Dagestan the national dish - urbech, known for its delicious taste and aroma - was prepared from flax seeds, molasses and honey. Among the northeastern Slavs, linseed oil was, perhaps, the main vegetable oil among peasants for a very long time.

Unfortunately, flaxseed oil was forgotten for a long time when sunflower, corn and olive oils appeared, which were cheaper and more suitable for heat treatment. Flaxseed oil has a very low smoke point, which made it not only useless when heated, but even harmful, due to the carcinogens formed. But times are changing, and people have again paid attention to this wonderful oil. Recently, scientists have proven the extreme usefulness of this product for the human body, due to the presence of a huge amount of linolenic acid in this oil. The content of this polyunsaturated fatty acid in flaxseed oil is 2 times higher than in the well-known fish oil! Unsaturated fatty acids are not synthesized in the human body, but at the same time they are extremely necessary for it, as they play an important role in life processes. It is precisely these fats that are lacking in the food of modern man.

Scientists around the world have come to the unanimous conclusion that consuming flaxseed oil is a significant step towards improving the health of the body. This oil is increasingly used in medicine, even official medicine, cosmetology and, of course, in cooking. We hope that you will also fall in love with flaxseed oil by including it in your daily diet.

Composition of linseed oil

Let us dwell in more detail on the beneficial composition of flaxseed oil, since its value for the human body is due precisely to its rich composition.

  • Fats: Omega-3 (up to 60%), Omega-6 (about 20%), Omega-9 (about 10%), Saturated fatty acids (stearic, myristic and palmitic);
  • Vitamins: Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3 (vit. PP), Vitamin B4, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B9, Vitamin E (choline), Vitamin K, Vitamin F;
  • Macro- and microelements: potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc;
  • And besides them also: Linamarin, Phytosterols, Squalene (up to 8%), Thioproline, Lecithin, Beta-carotene;

Despite the considerable list of components that make up natural flaxseed oil, the complex of poly- and monounsaturated fatty acids is still of particular value. Alpha-lenolenic acid (Omega-3) is irreplaceable and extremely necessary for our body. Unfortunately, in most food products it is either completely absent or present in very small quantities. Fish oil is known for its high content of this fatty acid. So, the content of unsaturated fatty acids in flaxseed oil is twice as high as in fish oil. This is such a unique oil! The Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and extensive experience in the use of flaxseed oil in the USA, Canada and Germany confirm the extreme usefulness of this oil for the human body.

Benefits of flaxseed oil

Flaxseed oil is used in the complex treatment of many diseases, and also serves as a source of essential alpha-linolenic acid, the deficiency of which adversely affects human health.

Cardiovascular system: With regular consumption of flaxseed oil, the level of cholesterol in the blood decreases by an average of 25%, triglycerides by 65%, blood viscosity decreases and the elasticity of blood vessels increases. This ultimately leads to lower blood pressure and a reduced risk of blood clots. There is evidence that taking only 1 tbsp. flaxseed oil reduces blood pressure by 9 mmHg. It is recommended to use flaxseed oil in complex treatment and for the prevention of atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, hypertension, stroke, heart attack and thrombophlebitis.

Respiratory system: Flaxseed oil is recommended for use in the complex treatment of sore throat, tonsillitis, laryngitis, and bronchial asthma. Flaxseed oil contains polyunsaturated fatty acid Omega-3, which has a pronounced anti-cancer effect, and lignans, unfortunately in very small quantities (the largest amount of these plant fibers is contained directly in flaxseed). It is recommended to use flaxseed oil and flax seeds in the complex treatment of cancer and for the purpose of their prevention. Studies have shown that this oil is especially effective in preventing breast and colorectal cancer.

Prevention of nervous system diseases: Doctors around the world have recognized the exceptionally beneficial effect of flaxseed oil on brain activity. With fairly regular use of flaxseed oil, an improvement in memory and reaction speed has been noted. The human brain is 60% fat, and it needs exclusively unsaturated fatty acids, which are present in large quantities in flaxseed oil. In connection with the above, this oil is necessary for children, people of mental work, and, of course, the elderly. The extremely beneficial effect of flaxseed oil on the nervous system as a whole has also been proven. Flaxseed oil is good for some types of depression and can ease the course of schizophrenia.

Prevention of urinary system diseases: Flaxseed oil is successfully used in the complex treatment of kidney and bladder diseases.

Prevention of musculoskeletal diseases: Both external and internal use of flaxseed oil is indicated for inflammatory diseases of the joints: arthritis, arthrosis, rheumatism, bursitis... It will help cope with the inflammatory process and alleviate the patient’s condition.

Prevention of skin diseases: It is recommended to use flaxseed oil in the complex treatment of various inflammatory skin diseases, such as seborrhea, psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea, dry skin rashes, herpes zoster... Flaxseed oil will help in the treatment of difficult-to-heal wounds and ulcers, cracks in the skin. It has a beneficial effect in the treatment of calluses and warts. Flaxseed oil is also used in the treatment of superficial burns, mixed with lime water (1:1).

Prevention of excess weight: Nowadays, the problem of excess weight and obesity is becoming more and more urgent. The calorie content of fats is very high, so many people struggle with the problem of excess weight by eliminating fats from their diet. This is by no means a way out! Unsaturated fatty acids are essential for the human body. Flaxseed oil will completely compensate for the deficiency of unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, Omega-3 and Omega-6, present in large quantities in flaxseed oil, help normalize both fat metabolism and metabolism in general. Are you overweight or obese? Include flaxseed oil in your diet. It will help solve the problem. Flaxseed oil will help reduce appetite by stimulating the satiety center, which makes dieting easier. In addition, this oil increases the speed of food passage and reduces the absorption rate in the intestines. Of course, you need to reduce the caloric intake of your diet and increase physical activity. Without fulfilling this indispensable condition, not a single remedy, even the most advanced one, can help you!

Prevention of diabetes: First of all, flaxseed oil improves the functioning of the pancreas and endocrine system as a whole. It is a good preventive measure for the development of diabetes. If you have diabetes, limit your intake of sugar and fat. With such a strict diet, the small amount of fat allowed must simply be obtained from unsaturated fatty acids, which are indispensable for the human body and are extremely necessary for it. Probably the best product for this purpose is flaxseed oil. Doctors have concluded that regular consumption of flaxseed oil reduces the incidence of diabetic neuropathy in patients with diabetes. A decrease in blood sugar levels has also been observed in type 2 diabetes. Of course, diabetes is not something to joke about, so consult with your doctor about the dose of flaxseed oil that is necessary for you personally.

Prevention of allergic reactions: The use of flaxseed oil will help relieve the manifestation of an allergic reaction.

Prevention of eye diseases: Regular consumption of flaxseed oil has a beneficial effect on vision, improving both visual acuity and color perception.

Prevention of dental diseases: Flaxseed oil can heal inflammation. It is recommended for use in the treatment of inflammatory processes in the oral cavity: stomatitis, caries, bleeding gums.

It should be noted that it is necessary to include flaxseed oil in the diet of vegetarians and people who, for one reason or another, do not eat fish, in order to compensate for the deficiency of unsaturated fatty acids that are vital for humans. Frequently ill children, weakened patients, and people who have undergone surgery simply need this oil.

Preventive intake of flaxseed oil is carried out in courses of 10 days every 2 weeks, it is advisable to do 3-4 courses. The oil should not be subjected to heat treatment in order to preserve the beneficial properties of flaxseed oil as much as possible.

Flaxseed oil not only gives women health, but also helps them lose weight. This is exactly the product that nutritionists recommend using during weight loss. Flaxseed oil works more effectively in combination with diets, calorie counting, and fasting days. This is what nutritionists recommend to use for menstrual irregularities caused by fat restriction and sudden weight loss. Even the strict Dukan diet is loyal to this product.

Use for cleansing blood vessels

Vascular diseases are the scourge of modern women. Bad cholesterol leads to the appearance of plaques, narrowing of the lumens and poor circulation.
