There is a version that the Greeks in ancient times learned about it from the Egyptians, who used it not only for treatment, but also for embalming. It is curious that the Arabic name of this healing substance - hafizal-ajssod - is translated in exactly the same way.

But it was known not only in Arab countries and ancient Egypt or Greece. They were treated with mountain tar in Mongolia and China, in Burma, Altai and Siberia.
