What is the difference between filler and Botox? Choosing the best way to look impressive

Now modern cosmetology offers a huge selection of different procedures to maintain the beauty, youth and elasticity of the skin. The most common are Botox, mesotherapy and filling. Many women do not know what the fundamental differences between these procedures are and what they are intended for - this article is intended to fill this gap.

Botox injections contain botulinum toxin, which blocks the action of the muscle by partially blocking the nerve that causes it to contract. Thanks to this, expression lines caused by excessive muscle contraction are smoothed out. With the help of Botox, you can get rid of wrinkles on the forehead, longitudinal wrinkles between the eyebrows, “crow’s feet” around the eyes, and you can also lift the corners of the lips and eyes, which droop with age. The result of the procedure is visible immediately and lasts up to six months, after which the procedure will need to be repeated. The danger of this technique is well known - due to an incorrectly administered drug, distortion or prolapse of the muscle into which the drug was injected may occur. Therefore, it is very important to carefully choose a cosmetologist. It is also worth considering the fact that Botox injections are aimed primarily at correcting wrinkles, but have no effect on the condition of the skin. You can learn about all the intricacies of the Botox procedure in a separate article -what is botox , pay attention to it.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy, unlike Botox, has a double effect - it eliminates age-related changes and improves facial skin, giving it elasticity, moisture, and fights acne and acne, helps cope with pigmentation and freckles, mattifies the skin. Mesotherapy also has a beneficial effect on the condition of hair, increases its thickness, makes it smooth and manageable. The drug contains a real biological cocktail, which is based on hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin. It is these components that help in the fight against age-related changes and improve skin condition. Related components depend on the problem being solved; these can be vitamins, microelements, various extracts (for example, aloe Vera), caffeine and much more. Mesotherapy is carried out either in the form of injections or without injections, using laser, ultrasound, electrical impulses or oxygen procedure. The effect of the non-injection method, when compared with injections, will be lower, but no pain and the need for restoration. For anyone interested in the topic, we recommend special materials aboutmesotherapy for face And mesotherapy for hair, where you will find detailed answers to all your questions.

The word “filler” literally translates as “filler”, accordingly, the task is to remove the deepest wrinkles, correct the shape of the lips, nose and cheekbones. They can be synthetic (for example, silicone), biological ( adipose tissue), or hyaluronic acid. The difference between all the listed placeholders is only in preserving the result of the procedure and possible consequences. Silicone fillers are considered the cheapest and at the same time dangerous - they can move from their injection site and cause allergic reaction and intoxication, therefore lately they are used less and less. Biological drugs and hyaluronic acid are harmless, they are completely eliminated from the body over time, do not cause allergies and have virtually no side effects. But in terms of “working” time, synthetics win - silicone can remain in the body for up to several years, and fat and hyaluronic acid are eliminated within six months. All the nuances are described in more detail in the article What is it?

First, let’s understand the terminology, because sometimes patients come to a cosmetologist and ask to “pump up their lips with Botox.” Botulinum therapy is the elimination of facial wrinkles and increased sweating preparations of botulinum toxin type A (a poison of organic origin, which in microdoses blocks nerve impulses and causes muscle paralysis). "Botox" - commercial name the first drug based on botulinum toxin, which later became a household name. Nowadays, along with the American Botox, other drugs are used similar action, for example, the French “Dysport” or the German “Xeomin”. The difference between drugs is the number of units required to achieve one result, and the strength of action with the duration of the effect. Botulinum therapy works with wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows, lifts the eyebrows and corners of the eyes, reduces crow's feet, therefore, the common phrase about lips pumped up with Botox is fundamentally wrong - this is the task of fillers. Botox also does not cope with wrinkles around the mouth and nasolabial folds - here too, preference is given to contour plastic surgery.

Contour plastic or fillers

Dermal fillers are gel fillers for correcting imperfections and replenishing missing volume. Unlike Botox, fillers do not weaken the facial muscles, but fill in wrinkles and folds. Based on the duration of action, fillers are divided into non-absorbable and biodegradable, but the former (for example, biopolymers and silicone) are prohibited due to a host of side effects and have not been used legally for many years. This leads to another myth - lips are enlarged with silicone. In the early 90s, biopolymer gels were actually used for lip augmentation, but due to unpredictable behavior similar drugs fell out of use and were replaced by fillers based on hyaluronic acid. Modern fillers can be based on hyaluronic acid, collagen or the patient’s own adipose tissue. Indications for the use of fillers are sagging skin, circles under the eyes, pronounced nasolabial folds or nasolacrimal grooves, facial asymmetry or drooping corners of the lips. Gel fillers allow you to change the shape of the nose, increase the volume of the lips or correct the oval of the face. By the way, contour plastic surgery is completely compatible with botulinum therapy for the formation of deep creases: first, the muscles are relaxed with Botox, and after two weeks they are filled with filler.

Biorevitalization

Biorevitalization is the introduction of unbound hyaluronic acid preparations for the cells to actively produce their own collagen and hyaluronic acid. Here it’s worth immediately debunking another myth - biorevitalization does not get rid of wrinkles. The purpose of the procedure is to moisturize and nourish the skin, provide tone and give a rested appearance. Excess hyaluronic acid, created by injection or laser, enhances recovery processes. Biorevitalization is used not only on the face, but also on the hands, décolleté and other areas in need of restoration.

Mesotherapy

Patients often experience confusion between the concepts of mesotherapy and biorevitalization. Both treatments activate collagen and elastin production, but do so in different ways: hyaluronic acid is used for biorevitalization, and for mesotherapy - vitamin cocktails. Biologically active substances act on all layers of the skin and subcutaneous fat and, due to the production of collagen after microinjections, renew the skin from the inside. Mesotherapy, unlike biorevitalization, gives a delayed effect - the maximum result appears at the end of a course of 5-10 procedures.

Aesthetic medicine has firmly entered our lives, but the abundance of procedures offered by clinics is difficult for an unprepared patient to understand. The best way solutions to a specific cosmetic problem should be carried out by a competent cosmetologist, and it is important for the patient to become familiar with the basic concepts of cosmetology in order to control the doctor’s actions.

When does a woman begin to notice the first wrinkles on her face? On average, after 30 years. “It wasn’t like this before, but now...” - this phrase is most often heard by cosmetologists during consultations. Of course, doctors have many techniques in their arsenal that will help remove wrinkles. About what injections can do if we're talking about about facial rejuvenation, says Irina Kosheleva, dermatocosmetologist, trichologist at the clinic aesthetic medicine"Premium Aesthetics".

Contour plastic surgery, botulinum therapy, liporeducer injections - all these procedures help to quickly rejuvenate the face. If you approach the correction of age-related changes correctly, it is better to combine them with hardware techniques that stimulate facial skin to renew itself. However, if a woman wants to get results “here and now,” then injections will help. What is most often injected if they want to get rid of wrinkles and swelling on the face?

Botox. The drug blocks certain facial muscles, thereby “erasing” facial wrinkles from the face.

Fillers. With their help, you can fill deep wrinkles and creases, recreate the volume of lost tissue (dense fillers) or remove fine wrinkles (lower density fillers).

There are fillers based on hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapathies (Radiesse). Suitable drug is selected based on individual characteristics a woman’s skin, as well as her tendency to edema. In the latter case, you should very carefully choose fillers based on hyaluronic acid, which can additionally attract and retain water.

Lipore reducers. Substances that regulate metabolic processes in fat cells in such a way that they begin to decrease in size, “lose weight”. Due to this, a decrease in fat volumes in a certain area of the face occurs.

As a rule, it is necessary to combine different injection techniques to achieve significant facial rejuvenation. Let's figure out what age-related changes can be corrected with injections and what results can be achieved.

Wrinkles on the forehead

As a rule, the first wrinkles that women notice are located on the forehead: horizontal wrinkles, vertical wrinkles in the area of the bridge of the nose. Wrinkles on the forehead give the face a stale, tired look, especially when combined with a drooping upper eyelid.

How to get rid of it. First of all, botulinum therapy is used. If you regularly resort to this procedure, you can, as it were, push out a facial wrinkle that has begun to form. Botox also helps lift eyebrow tails and upper eyelid on initial stages his sagging.

You can combine botulinum therapy with blanching - filling small wrinkles with low-density filler. This way you can get the effect of a perfectly smooth forehead.

However, it is not always possible to get by with Botox alone. For example, if a woman first turned to a cosmetologist at the age of 40, then perhaps expression wrinkles have become static wrinkles. In this case, they can be leveled only with the help of dense fillers.

The same drugs should be used if subcutaneous fatty tissue is expressed in the forehead and bridge of the nose. In this case, deep wrinkles form, particularly between the eyebrows. You can “erase” them from your face only with the help of a fairly dense preparation.

Nasolabial folds and lower third of the face

The second thing a woman notices on her face is pronounced nasolabial folds and labio-chin wrinkles. In this case, the corners of the lips fall down, the face as a whole looks tired and sad.

Closer to 40 years, the zygomatic area also changes noticeably. Fat packets from middle zone The cheeks sag downwards and jowls begin to form. This age marker appears due to bone changes facial skeleton. The skull as a whole dries out with age, its volume upper jaw, to which they are attached soft fabrics, decreases, which provokes ptosis (sagging of soft tissues: skin, muscles, subcutaneous fat).

How to fix it. The first thing to do in this case is to restore the skeletal foundation by increasing the volume bone tissue. In this case, we will obtain adequate tissue tension, as in at a young age. Using fillers, you can add volume to the cheekbone area, chin, and correct the angles of the lower jaw.

Afterwards, if necessary, nasolabial folds and labio-mental wrinkles are filled. If a woman develops heavy jowls with age, large quantity adipose tissue, she is given injections of liporeducers. These drugs reduce fat volume. And then contour plastic surgery is performed.

Wrinkles around the eyes

With age, hernial sacs in the lower eyelid area, the so-called bags under the eyes, become more obvious. The nasolacrimal groove and fine wrinkles around the eyes (“crow’s feet”) become more noticeable. Due to the displacement of the hernial sacs, women closer to 40 years old develop swelling around the eyes in the morning, which disappears only in the middle of the day.

What to do. You can reduce the volume of bags under the eyes with liporeducer injections. Correction of facial wrinkles is carried out using Botox and low-density filler. If necessary, the nasolacrimal groove is filled with a denser filler.

Lips: before and after

You should pay attention to changes in both the lips themselves and the skin surrounding them. Often due to anatomical feature the lips themselves or the facial expressions around the mouth form so-called small purse string wrinkles. The lips themselves lose their shape with age: they flatten, lose their clear contour, and the volume of fatty tissue in this area also disappears. Due to sagging lower third On the face, the corners of the lips may droop, which gives the woman a tired look.

How to correct. The skin around the lips can be treated using botulinum therapy (light dosage), as well as filling purse-string wrinkles with low-density filler. Injections of dense fillers will add volume to the lips themselves.

However, it is not always possible to obtain voluminous inverted lips only with the help of contour plastic surgery this zone. So, for example, if bottom part The face is heavy, with a large amount of fatty tissue, which also pulls the lips down, first you need to correct this area. And then you should work with the volume and shape of the lips.

Comment on the article "How to get rid of wrinkles? Botox, fillers: before and after"

Botox. Facial care. Fashion and beauty. I read and read on the Internet, but I still couldn’t find a definite answer: will Botox (or its analogues) save me from this problem. I have clearly developed a problem with my lips clenching, which can lead to wrinkles.

Discussion

Try to get to Vishchipanova for a consultation, but I confirmed the appointment for myself only for January, I would not rush to inject anything if I were you, there is hardware lifting, it can be done in zones, it may suit you, but it is better to consult with an experienced cosmetologist.

You need to see Botox first, you may fill it with filler and won’t need it

11/24/2017 5:23:45 PM, Utica

After Botox (when I took it), my forehead straightened out, no creases, everything was smooth and neat) And now I can’t even imagine what to do (I’m not mentally ready for surgery yet. They offer some kind of laser procedures, to fill in wrinkles with fillers or a coordinate lift.

Discussion

What exactly is wrong with your forehead, have your eyebrows dropped lower?
It’s just that even if you do an endoscopic forehead lift, in order to remove this problem, the creases from wrinkles will still need to be corrected with the help of injections, I recently read the story of a girl, she’s 35-something, she had forehead plastic surgery done by Tumakov, but I would never say that She had plastic surgery, although from the before and after photos there is a big difference, and if you look at the after photo she looks younger, but the effect is natural. No overstretching.

Bang)
And on the forehead there is just horror-horror? And what did you want to get in the end? For me, a perfectly smooth forehead only adds age; I only inject it into the wrinkles under the eyes; when I injected my forehead, I went and cut off my bangs, as I looked five years older.
What do the doctors say? If individual intolerance, then maybe they can offer something else? Did you have it done by cosmetologists or in medical clinics? If you haven’t gone to clinics, I advise you to try

The wrinkle is filled with some creamy substance with light reflection. Visually, the wrinkle can be very smoothed out. See other discussions: Fillers and implants: what to choose? I want to give myself Botox injections in my forehead and fillers in my nasolabial folds...

Basically, first inject Botox/Dysport, then see if the deep wrinkles go away or not, if not, then think about Juvederm and analogues in combination with Botox. The worst thing is sugar. Auditors I know did not consume sugar for six months after an audit at a sugar factory.

Discussion

If you want no wrinkles at all, then only injections. If you want to visually reduce and hide them, then pay attention to anti-aging cosmetics. With its help you can also achieve good effect. For example, the anti-aging line of Korean cosmetics LLANG. There are masks, creams, lotions, toners, emulsions

Is there an alternative to Botox (Xeomin, etc.)? Hello girls. The real question is, how can I smooth out wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows? IMHO on the forehead and between the eyebrows, Botox will not smooth out wrinkles after of a certain age, only in combination with filler.

Discussion

In addition to botulinum, there are injections of hyaluronic acid, as well as the introduction of hyaluronic acid using a laser - laser biorevitalization, plasmolifting (injections of one's own plasma), mesothreads (thread lifting, liquid threads), as well as drugs mesovarton, mesoxanthin. Plus, you can do LPG facial massage and peelings.

IMHO, Botox will not smooth out wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows after a certain age, only in combination with filler. Peeling will visually improve the situation. The cream, as far as I understand, especially at night, will help relax the muscles - also not bad. But if Botox prevents you from frowning when you squint in the sun, for example, then no cream will work like that, alas.
If someone now says that I’m wrong, and even offers a solution, I’ll be happy, because Botox doesn’t work for me.

I won’t campaign against it, I’ll just give it for information: my cosmetologist refused Botox procedures in her salon on the basis of a closed research report on the relationship between Botox injections Anti-wrinkle cream, Botox or hyaluronic acid injections.

my eyebrows “fall” on my eyes when I prick my forehead ((as soon as they didn’t prick, and higher, and wider, and already, it’s still bad, the look is gloomy, the eyebrows droop, it’s terrible ((now I’ll only do the eyebrow area (((

I won’t campaign against it, I’ll just give it for information: my cosmetologist refused Botox procedures in her salon on the basis of a confidential research report on the relationship between Botox injections and cancer diseases liver in women practicing these procedures.

Between the eyebrows, what besides Botox? Good afternoon. 35 years old, large and deep eyebrow wrinkle. Botox didn't work!!! I don’t drink anything for at least a day and at least a week after the injection. and the crease is corrected with fillers. fillers based on hyaluronic acid.

Botox must be injected after all facial procedures. After peelings, jet peels, massages and biorevitalization, because... they reduce the duration of action of Botox. Few cosmetologists will tell you about this, because... Most people’s goal is not so much to make you beautiful, but to pump out more...

Discussion

That’s right, you did biorevitalization, the doctor immediately told me that these are mutually exclusive procedures. one weakens the other.
And yet you can’t take B vitamins, inject all sorts of milgams, sports also weakens everything...
Well, here is the result.

I did both. I settled on Dysport. While the flight is normal (TTT), it stays for the standard 6 months, then it slowly lets go.

Tell those who know about Botox. A friend has lost a lot of weight and wants to get Botox injections, she is 39 years old. Lives in Khimki, read about Recommend a trusted person, good cosmetologist, Please. I want to give myself Botox injections in my forehead and fillers in my nasolabial folds.

I didn’t dare to take Botox - I heard that people can react very harshly to Botox. She interrogated me, of course, with passion, when I came to work after the procedure) don’t guess, one does not replace the other. Botox will relax the facial muscles, wrinkles on the forehead may go away...

Discussion

Nonsense about Botox, it can’t go anywhere crookedly. I did it (if they name the clinic where they did it, then I’ll also write Beauty Park). Everything turned out great, a natural result. It’s just that these myths about Botox and all kinds of procedures only scare women and prevent them from becoming even more beautiful.

If I were your mother, I would still choose Thermage. I personally have dry skin on my face and wrinkles began to appear early. I looked creepy: from the back like a peonyErka (I have a no-frills figure), and from the front like a pensionerErka. I didn’t decide on Botox - I heard that the body can react very harshly to Botox. God forbid everything else goes awry... Br! I did thermage. The skin on the face tightened, became firmer, more elastic, the effect partly appeared immediately, partly later. In reality, my skin looks about 7 years younger. I had it done at the MediEsthetik clinic (St. Petersburg). A colleague at work is now also going to go get Thermage treatment, otherwise we are the same age - she also wants to look better. She interrogated me, of course, with passion, when I came to work after the procedure)))))

Botox - consult, plz! I gave myself Botox injections not really for migraines. It turned out that I had very tight muscles around the entire perimeter of my head, which caused severe headaches “all my life”, and for the last 2 years - almost migraine headaches...

Thank you all very much! You gave me so many ideas!
Life is getting better, hurray!

You won’t tolerate everything at once. My muscle “atrophied” and a small, invisible crease remained only after three years of using Botox.

Botox or fillers. Medical cosmetology. Fashion and beauty. Botox or fillers. Hello, please advise from your own experience which is better. Age: 36 years old, problem: fairly deep folds on the forehead between the eyebrows.

Discussion

Obagi (as well as other creams) will not remove wrinkles. Botox, then fillers. I've never heard of an allergy to Botox. And it’s complete nonsense that 36 years is too early for Botox; according to indications, they inject it at 18. I regret that I didn’t start injecting it at least when I was 25 years old; I would have had a perfectly smooth forehead long ago. Kolya is in his third year and the results are very, very pleasing. The result is visible literally immediately and hooray! You can no longer drag your bangs over your eyes to hide those stupid wrinkles and folds))

Wait!! At 36, Botox is very early in my opinion. Try obagi nude derm. Just buy on eBay, it’s three times cheaper than in our stores. Or maybe someone from the states can send it to you.

If there is a network of small wrinkles on the face, then it is definitely better to do meso, if there are deep single ones (for example, on the forehead and “goose bumps” Botox. Hello! I would really like to know whether Botox injections are effective or not, what are the real results and whether they exist at all!

Botox and nasolabial fillers have an effect on the face after 2 weeks and from every second compliment with a question about a new makeup style, Botox did not work!!! I don’t drink anything for at least a day and at least a week after the injection. Maybe you have wrinkles that Dysport already...

Discussion

We must understand that by buying professional creams, doing regular peelings, massages, injecting ial systems, we achieve a fresh complexion, well-groomed skin, excellent turgor, the youth of the skin is slightly extended, but this will NOT get rid of wrinkles. Only Botox and fillers :)

it's very individual. My friend, who is 46 years old, does not have a single wrinkle on her forehead, and she only had biorevitalization done several years ago. And I’m 35. And I have wrinkles that don’t smooth out. No matter what creams I used. Probably all the popular ones, starting from Clinics and ending with Dior, Chanel, Estee Lauder. Well, there was NOT THE SMALLEST effect. Botox and nasolabial fillers have an effect on the face after 2 weeks and every second person receives compliments asking about a new makeup style or hairstyle. And nothing new except Botox and fillers (without fillers the effect would not be the same). I personally will now buy the most inexpensive pharmacy cosmetics, saving on expensive creams and using these savings for injections. But this is my experience. Everyone has their own. Good luck to you!

I have already 2 cosmetologists - a permanent one (care) and an injection specialist (we encounter wrinkles around the eyes and nasolabial lips that don’t bother me yet. Well, that is, I look my age and I have your build upper eyelids The cosmetologist always injects Botox under the eyebrows, not...

Discussion

I have good experience. It took me a very long time to decide on this and told my cosmetologist about Oksana Pushkina about 20 times and how scary everything was. I have 2 cosmetologists - a permanent one (care) and an injection specialist (we meet rarely, as needed). The second specialist was recommended by my regular cosmetologist, saying that there is a person who is an expert in this and sees what and where to do correctly.
So I have an excellent master who specializes in injections. If you need it, write me and I’ll give you my phone number. There are certain points that you need to know before injecting yourself with anything.
I've been communicating for several years now. I'm very pleased.

Girls are now trying beauty injections, younger and younger in age than those who are supposed to receive them. I read that you can practice Botox at least from the age of 35. Everyone is interested, everyone wants to try, and no one is afraid of terrible photos of unsuccessful tests. Everyone wants to learn from their mistakes. But is it such an evil, these beauty injections?!

I recently read that Courteney Cox, the 53-year-old star of Friends, has decided to give up such support and grow old naturally- she was so frightened by what happened to her face. I looked for information, however, many stars admit to using Botox and fillers, and swear to do it again.

Cameron Diaz. Age: 44 years. Dependency stage: I tried it, but it didn’t work.

Smiling blonde Cameron Diaz, who will turn 45 this coming August, has already met cosmetic preparations, returning people to their “young” faces. However, it didn’t work, I didn’t like it. On the pages of her book “The Body Book,” in which the actress collected the secrets of self-care, Diaz wrote:

At the same time, Cameron does not condemn those who cannot get rid of addiction through injections for years.

Nicole Kidman. Age: 50 years old. Stage of addiction: cured.

Living mask - that's what Nicole Kidman's face was called when her Botox craze reached its apogee. Then, apparently, the actress’s relatives and friends were able to reach her, explaining that the pursuit of youth would not bring her anything good. In 2011, Kidman decided to have a frank conversation on this topic. The actress spoke about her “addiction” and the fact that she was able to recover from it:

Now Nicole sticks proper nutrition, visits gym and relies on anti-aging creams, but does not undertake to condemn those who follow the road from which she left. Although some cosmetologists and plastic surgeons are sure that Nicole continues to indulge in youthful injections.

Naomi Watts. Age: 48 years old. Dependency stage: not yet, but very close

It is quite difficult to catch Naomi Watts using Botox or fillers, and the actress herself insists that anti-aging injections are a disaster for an actor.

Pamela Anderson. Age: 49 years old. Dependency stage: delayed.

If to plastic surgeon Pamela Anderson turned to Botox injections when she was young, but it took her a long time to get Botox injections. In general, she overcame this path, but was not impressed - she tried it and was disappointed.

However, something tells us that Pamela is being a little disingenuous - photographs of her appear in the press every now and then, in which she looks either younger or older. And it's not about makeup.

Christie Brinkley. Age: 63 years old. Stage of addiction: “on the needle,” but it’s for the better.

One can only envy the appearance of 63-year-old Christie Brinkley, but it is better to learn from her example in order to meet old age with dignity. The model's secret is that she found a "cosmetic balance." Over the years of her life, she managed to try many procedures - some were a nightmare, others were a success.

There are many ways to refresh your face and body, from volumizing injections to lasers, radio wave lifting, photolifting and even techniques that use growth hormones from your own blood to create new cells. If you want to look refreshed, then rejuvenating procedures should be carried out by an experienced and with a light hand good doctor. It will help remove wrinkles without changing your facial features. You need to strive to remain yourself and look natural, Brinkley shares on the pages of his book " Eternal beauty" (Timeless Beauty), noting that there is a procedure for everyone and that same Botox can become a friend: Botox injections into the forehead were a disaster for me. Looking back, I don’t understand why I went for it. After the injections, my face should have to acquire a calm and relaxed look, but Botox “dropped” my eyebrows, and my face itself became sad, the expressiveness disappeared. I couldn’t wait for this effect to end. Then I stopped with Botox injections on my forehead. But recently I began to notice vertical strands. on the neck. I made inquiries and found out what I could do about it. simple solution The problem turned out to be injection of a small amount of Botox into these “strings”. A miracle happened!

Even if you are a little over 30...

We suggest that you familiarize yourself with the following information: "what better than botox or anti-wrinkle fillers?" and discuss the article in the comments.

We've all heard of Botox - thanks to the many celebrities who use it - but what about fillers, another way to smooth skin and get rid of wrinkles? If you don’t know what the difference is or which option is best for you, we will be happy to help you with your choice.

One of the most known methods smooth out expression lines and age wrinkles - a neuromodulator called Botox (other brands include Dysport and Xeomin). “These products cause the facial muscles to relax temporarily,” explains the doctor. Botox effectively combats glabellar wrinkles, forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, smile lines and other expression wrinkles.

You've seen how Botox has made your favorite stars (and maybe even some of your friends) look years younger, but is it right for you? Some 25-30 year olds choose Botox to prevent wrinkles and improve their complexion. Older patients, the doctor explains, use it to make existing wrinkles less noticeable and prevent the formation of new ones. The truth is, almost everyone can find something to benefit from Botox as part of a beauty therapy and personal care program. The most important thing is that Botox has an excellent safety record and is the most popular cosmetic procedure in the world.

For which areas: fine lines and wrinkles, hyperhidrosis and non-standard applications.

Your skin reveals your age faster than you think. No need to put up with early wrinkles, swollen ovals and bags under the eyes! Meet the recipe for slowing down old age...

Attention to fillers

Like Botox, fillers are injectable drug, used to fight the majority unpleasant signs aging, but unlike Botox, they do not relax the facial muscles, but fill the folds in the skin and thereby create volume. “Soft tissue fillers can be used to restore youthful appearance by restoring lost volume to the skin by filling in lines and wrinkles,” explains Dr. If you want the same luscious lips as Angelina Jolie, or are hoping to get rid of frown lines between the eyebrows, then filler can help you with this. The most popular fillers are listed below.

Restylane

Restylane is a dermal filler consisting of hyaluronic acid, thanks to which the skin manages to maintain its shape and volume. The hyaluronic acid molecules contained in Restylane are retained in human body water, gradually “tightening” the skin and giving it a smoother and more youthful appearance.

For what areas: elimination of wrinkles and folds around the mouth and in the corners of the lips, in the area around the eyes.

Juvederm

Like Restylane, Juvederm also contains hyaluronic acid, which plumps the skin by filling and smoothing out any superficial wrinkles. The injectable gel helps the skin regain volume and smoothness and eliminates facial wrinkles and folds.

For which areas: nasolabial area and forehead, increasing lip volume.

Radiesse

Radiesse - dermal filler long acting, consisting of calcium and gel as its carrier. Injections of this drug not only smooth out wrinkles, but also stimulate the skin's production of collagen, a protein necessary to preserve its youth.

For which areas: very deep wrinkles.

Perlane

Perlane is a related product to Restylane. It also contains hyaluronic acid, but its consistency is a little thicker. Thanks to this, Perlane can affect deeper wrinkles.

For which areas: nasolabial folds between the nose and mouth, worry marks on the forehead, increasing the volume and size of the lips (often in combination with Restylane).

Botox and fillers: can they be used together?

Until now, you may have thought that Botox and fillers could only be used separately, but in fact, they work even better together (like chocolate and peanut butter or strawberries and champagne). Botox is often used in combination with fillers (and even laser) to enhance general results these procedures. “Botox and fillers are a great combination,” says the doctor.

Botox and fillers work differently, which is why the combination of these treatments works better than either one alone. Botox paralyzes the underlying facial muscles, while fillers plump the skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Together they provide a gentle and natural improvement to the face and eliminate age-related cosmetic problems. Often, soft tissue fillers will work better when used in conjunction with Botox.

When looking for a skin smoothing solution that will work for you, choosing between Botox and fillers shouldn't be a problem. Age wrinkles and fine lines don't stand a chance anyway, and if you really want to stop your skin from aging, use a combination of these products.

And a little about secrets...

Have you already encountered the first signs of skin aging - wrinkles, sagging, dryness, hyperpigmentation? Judging by the fact that you are reading this article, yes. And on own experience you know what it is:

  • inability to remove crow's feet using conventional means;
  • constant discomfort and dry skin;

With the onset of autumn, each of us is overcome by the desire for change: to finally find “our” cosmetologist, get rid of that wrinkle on the forehead, take a full course correct procedures. What to do, where to start and where to go, we decided to ask a dermatocosmetologist, candidate medical sciences, doctor with more than 10 years of experience in the field of aesthetic medicine Karina Akopova.

– How to choose your cosmetologist? Very often you come to a specialist who is new to you, and he begins to groan: “How can you live with such a black dot on your forehead... Buy this emulsion from me... You have a completely different skin type...”. It becomes unpleasant and you want to run. What should a cosmetologist be like, in your opinion?

Karina Akopova,
dermatocosmetologist

– Before I start answering questions, I want to wish everyone good mood and only positive attitude! So, choosing “your” doctor is, of course, a very important question for every patient. First of all, the doctor should listen to all your questions, fears, concerns, understand your expectations from a particular procedure, highlight the essence of the intervention, talk about all the consequences, and perhaps show photographs as examples. The patient’s trust in the doctor is the main, if not the main component of a good result from any medical intervention. This applies to both home recommendations from the doctor and the scope of tasks and requirements of the patient for his cosmetologist.

Very often, the patient’s first visit is just an introduction, dialogue, drawing up a plan of procedures. The only way to understand whether you like the doctor or not is to talk to the doctor. Trust him, believe him, and will you follow his recommendations - these are the questions you need to answer yourself on your first visit. I can honestly say, hand on heart, as a very demanding consumer, that not every successful specialist is ready to let close to her face and body. After all, cosmetology, appearance, the desires of every person to improve, change their appearance - this is deeply intimate question. And it must be approached with the utmost care. So choose your doctor carefully, then, believe me, he will be attentive to you.

– What is the difference between cosmetics and cosmeceuticals? Can I prescribe cosmeceuticals for myself?

– Differences in the presence, quantity and concentration of medicinal ingredients. There are good cosmetic brands, but they don't solve serious problems, those problems when one or another cosmetic defect is no longer a symptom, but a diagnosis. That is, it is necessary to understand the scale of the problem, and only a specialist can do this. Very often we have to fight undesirable consequences independent uncontrolled use of cosmetics or cosmeceuticals by the patient. And I often hear that “a friend recommended it”, “it used to help me”, “I always apply this cream”, “a doctor recommended this ointment to me ten years ago, and it helped”... And so on. Beauty problems, appearance, unfortunately, they are not decided at the KVD at the place of residence or at the city clinic. They are not included in compulsory medical insurance and are not frequently asked questions for dermatologists. Currently, every cosmetologist who prescribes cosmeceuticals and recommends this or that cosmetic product, must be a certified cosmetologist. In this situation more likely that you will end up in the hands of a doctor who specializes in medical cosmetology. There is no need to prescribe funds for yourself. You risk not only spending extra money, but also harming yourself.

– What scenarios are possible if a girl wants to get rid of wrinkles on her forehead? Do you need to “prick” with something?

- There are a lot of options. But the approach must be strictly individual. You don’t always need to inject immediately (smiles)! When fighting wrinkles, I evaluate facial expressions in general, the condition of the skin, its turgor (thickness, moisture content), the patient’s medical history (age, whether she has resorted to procedures before, what she uses independently). The range of products in my arsenal includes cosmetics, procedures with massage, physiotherapeutic devices (this can be prescribed to almost everyone, but individually), of course, mesotherapy and biorevitalization. Now you can’t live without them, but this is also an individual selection of drugs. Correcting facial wrinkles with botulinum toxin is a serious procedure, and it gives amazing results. You should not wait for deep folds on your forehead, unless, of course, you have become familiar with them and they completely suit you. Above were PREVENTION methods. After all, correction of existing deep creases is a plus to correction with botulinum toxin, plastic fillers, laser resurfacing, and this is more serious procedures requiring rehabilitation.

– At what age can correction of wrinkles, lips, nose be done?..

– Correction of wrinkles can be done from the age of their appearance. My youngest patients are independent girls a little under or a little over 20 years old. All the myths that “the sooner you start, the sooner you’ll ruin everything” are just myths. Remember the word “prevention”. Once you realize its meaning, time begins to work for you.

Lip correction and nose correction are contouring procedures. They are performed in a beauty salon using botulinum toxin type A preparations and fillers. These are registered product brands, tested and safe. The patient’s age is the age of independent decision-making to change something in appearance. Botulinum toxin has been used in neurology for a long time, and it is used to treat pathological muscle activity in children of kindergarten and school age. And skin fillers (fillers) are made from hyaluronic acid - this natural component intercellular matrix.

– Pages with descriptions are gaining popularity on Instagram cosmetic procedures for nose correction without surgical intervention? What is non-surgical rhinoplasty? What is the result and how long does it last?

- Exists plastic surgery. This is the only method for correcting BONE defects of the nose. There is also cartilage. It can also be corrected more or less surgically. But now we have learned to soften the cartilage using hormonal drugs(Diprospan, Kenalog), and then the patient wears a plaster splint, as after surgery, sleeps in it, and the nose takes on a different shape. Dense fillers can change the external contour, remove recesses, smooth out bulges, and lift the tip. These are not strong changes, they provide correction without a knife, but they have a limited duration of action, although the nose will still change slightly from the state before the intervention. Botulinum toxin can make your nose narrower, that's true. They can narrow the muscles that dilate the nostrils and the bridge of the nose; these muscles become smaller after correction, and the nose becomes visually narrower. I use thread methods myself in practice, but I haven’t decided to change my nose with them yet. Saw good results colleagues, but these are surgeons. Maybe I’ll try it soon in my practice, since I’m training to be a surgeon in present moment. I believe that every procedure should be performed strictly by a competent specialist. If I don’t take on something, I send it to my colleagues.

– What are the most necessary spring procedures that can be performed by a cosmetologist?

– Girls, it’s very important to get your skin in order in the spring! After winter, epidermal scales have accumulated, clogged pores, a grayish tint of the skin around the eyes has appeared, noses, cheeks, foreheads, irritated by winds and vitamin deficiency, are capricious... In general, first of all - care.

If the skin is flaky, it is not as smooth and velvety as usual, peelings are necessary fruit acids followed by proper care and mandatory UV protection of at least SPF 35+ for a week after peeling. Nourishing creams, masks, serums. For older people - procedures for introducing (electroporation, iontophoresis, microcurrent therapy) nutritional serums with hyaluronic acid, anti-rosacea components (vitamins C, K, P; extracts of cornflower, red grapes, horse chestnut; aloe juice, chamomile, calendula; oils of rosemary, thyme, lemongrass, marjoram, sage, lemon balm, etc.).

Next, for those who are not yet familiar, procedures for deep skin hydration using mesotherapy cocktails, biorevitalization. Of course, these procedures are very painful for some - after all, skin punctures, and even anesthesia with cream does not provide complete pain relief. But! This is the only method to give your skin what it needs. Apply as fertilizer nutrients into the dermis, saturate it with moisture, work effectively on the problems of rosacea, pigmentation, swelling, and simply give the skin a well-groomed appearance and rejuvenate it as much as possible by including stem cell reserves, biochemical processes, synthesis of collagen, elastin, restoration of skin structure as a whole. Of course, taking vitamins and eating right is very important. But almost nothing reaches the skin, where the capillaries are small and their number and permeability decrease with age. So let's face it. Not all procedures are pleasant. And those that are unpleasant are, as a rule, very useful and effective.

It must be said that the season for heavy peeling and polishing in the spring is closed. I am planning procedures for patients with TCA peeling, CO2 peeling, and any other medium or deep peeling until April. Even due to the very active sun, I was forced to complete these procedures in March this year. No one wants unwanted pigmentation.

Contouring procedures, filling with fillers, filling wrinkles, Botox injections, thread rejuvenation methods (mesothreads, surgical thread lifting procedures that replace a facelift) are all-season procedures. In the spring, it’s good to inject Botox, because summer is just around the corner and we protect our face from unwanted “sun-induced” expression wrinkles.

Laser hair removal and skin photorejuvenation (why I’m writing together, because the radiation spectrum is the same) are rather all-season procedures, but keep in mind that after that you can’t appear in the sun for 2-3 weeks, be sure to use creams with SPF 50+ immediately and for a month after the procedures. And in general, try to find creams that you like with SPF 35+ for the face, SPF 30+/50+ for the body and enjoy the sun, not burns, pigmentation, premature aging skin. You can’t even enjoy this! Love yourself, your skin!
