The number of allergy sufferers is growing every year. According to statistics, every 12th person in Russia suffers from one form or another of the disease. Moreover, over the past 15 years the number of patients has doubled. Complaints about intolerance to industrial synthetic cosmetics are becoming increasingly common. In such conditions, the need for natural skin care substances is growing. Of particular interest are herbal ingredients with a refined scent, e.g. essential oil roses.

IN Christian tradition The rose is a symbol of joy and the Resurrection of Christ. All peoples of the Earth revere this flower, considering it divine. Essential oil is produced from rose buds of essential oil varieties:

  • centifolia;
  • musky.

In the summer, thousands of petals are collected before sunrise to be turned into oil by water distillation that same day. The raw materials are processed with boiling water or steam in large boilers, then condensate containing ethers is collected. During processing, a secondary product is also formed, rose water - aqueous solution essential oil.

The ancient Persians were the first to obtain rose oil. The largest oil producer of our time is Bulgaria. Ready-made products with rose ether

The yield of product after distillation is very small; a bucket of buds is required to obtain one drop. Therefore, finding natural essential oil is quite difficult. It's even more difficult to spot a fake. You will need a chromatographic study, which cannot be done at home. Much easier to buy cosmetic oils, creams, soap or rose water (hydrolate) with rose oil. It is preferable to buy products from places where essential oil production is located: in Crimea, Bulgaria, Turkey. Less chance of running into a fake.

An inexpensive derivative of rose oil is rose water, a secondary product of production is the so-called hydrosol. It is less likely to be counterfeited and is relatively cheap. Essentially, it is an aqueous solution of rose esters, which is further enriched with primary rose oil and stabilized ethyl alcohol. It is this fragrant rose water, and not the oil itself, that women have used since ancient times to maintain the beauty of their skin.

A set of cosmetics with rose oil from the Bulgarian company Bio Pharm (soap with essential oil, rose water and cream with it) makes it possible to try several products at once

Queen of flowers against insomnia

The most pleasant procedure for sleep disorders - a warm bath. Dilute 4-5 drops of rose oil in milk, honey, salt or base oil and pour into the bath. If a large bathtub is not available, foot bathtubs are also effective. Add 1-2 drops to a bowl of water.

For the sleep-inducing water procedure to work, it is better to use it 2-3 hours before bedtime for 20 minutes. It is advisable that at least an hour pass after dinner. Too hot water and too long a water procedure will invigorate, not calm. Let the water temperature not exceed 37o C, otherwise sweating will prevent the oil from being absorbed into the skin.

Rubbing oils before bed helps with insomnia. Dilute 4-5 drops of ether in 2 tbsp. l. base oil. If desired, prepare a more effective massage product.

Ingredients:

  • Jojoba base oil - 10 ml;
  • rose ether - 1 drop;
  • lavender ether - 3 drops;
  • Roman chamomile or mint ether - 2 drops.

Mix the oils. Store in an opaque container in a dark place. In the evenings, after applying the oil, rub the following areas in a circular motion:

  • earlobes;
  • whiskey;
  • legs (feet);
  • neck (collar area).

If desired, everyone can create a massage mixture based on their preferences. Rose oil goes well with the following oils:

  • bergamot;
  • geraniums;
  • cypress;
  • chamomile;
  • tangerine;
  • patchouli;
  • myrrh;
  • rosewood.

Ovulation stimulation

In case of ovulation disorders, an unconventional method sometimes helps - rubbing the abdomen with rose ether. However, it is important to do this on time: every day from the 4th to the 14th day of the menstrual cycle. To get a massage product, dissolve 2 drops of ether in 10 ml of base oil.

This massage works in several directions:

  • eliminates negative attitude, apathy;
  • improves blood circulation in the pelvic organs;
  • relieves inflammation of female organs;
  • stimulates the maturation of eggs in the ovaries.

Aromatherapy

Ancient Chinese texts describe how the soul of plants lives in their scent. It’s easy to believe this when you inhale the noble scent of rose oil.

Aromatization of premises

To liken your state of mind to the beauty of a perfect flower, add 3-5 drops of ether into the aroma lamp. Without letting the water boil, scent the room for 15–30 minutes. Rose oil ennobles our condition by bringing:

  • calmness;
  • high spirits;
  • optimism;
  • tolerance.

Having inhaled rose ethers, you want to hold the exhalation and preserve the sweet and refined aroma inside. In addition to the floral scent, spicy honey and smoky notes are detected. “True femininity” - this is how the exciting aroma is briefly described. In addition to its mild tonic effect, rose eliminates nervous tension, depression, increases sensuality. A harmonizing effect has been observed in all mood pathologies. This is probably due to the Queen of Flowers' ability to increase concentration. Thanks to the ability to focus on the desired state of mind, you manage to bring it to life. In case of despondency, a rose instills cheerfulness, in case of neurosis it calms. No other flower acts in this way.

For those who want to always “carry” the scent of a rose with them, I advise you to purchase an aroma pendant, which is worn as a decoration around the neck. The oil in it evaporates very sparingly; one drop is enough for 3 days.

From the author: make your shadow white

Bringing beauty is a good thing when this activity does not completely absorb a person. If you elevate external beauty to the highest value, disappointments are inevitable. We become very vulnerable, allowing our happiness to depend on the presence or absence cosmetic defects. Moderation and balance are important even in self-care.

There are very few people who are ideally beautiful in appearance. There are many more people who have a beautiful soul, but an ordinary appearance. This is sad and unfair. In this case, rose ethers extract inner beauty and manifest it outwardly. It is not for nothing that many describe the effect of rose oil in such poetic words:

  • the face seems to glow from within;
  • I see the glow of youth in the mirror;
  • I am in a fragrant cloud of harmony and beauty;
  • inhaling the scent of roses, I am happy and soaring.

It shows up inner light under the harmonizing influence of the rose scent. There is a balancing of internal and external. Beauty is brought out: on the face, body, hair.

How can a rose help if there is no peace and harmony inside? It will make your shadow white, as they say, in the poems of Vyacheslav Butusov. By performing rose oil therapy, you can finally understand what true beauty is. After all, it is in a harmonious balance of internal and external. Beauty will arise if it did not exist. Ugly thoughts, feelings, and actions will go away. Purity will illuminate the soul. It will help if it seems that your life is not real: there is no beauty in your soul, there is no beauty in your deeds. To live a full life, you need to bring your inner and outer worlds into harmony. The scent of a rose will give you a push in the right direction and will help you on the path to finding true harmony and happiness. Let roses bloom in your soul.

DIY rose petal oil - video

If you are in love with the scent of rose ether, one day you will want to plant a Damask or Centifolia rose in your garden. However, this risks disappointment. Essential oil varieties bloom in one wave in June, the remaining summer months have nothing to admire and nothing to smell - the rose does not bloom. As an experienced rose grower, I recommend placing decorative roses of continuous flowering in your garden, for example, the Westerland variety. Three bushes of these roses near the windows will fill the area with a fabulous pink aroma throughout the summer season.

Contraindications

Dermatologists are against applying pure essential oils to the skin due to possible irritation. It is better to dilute it before use.

Rose esters are prohibited if you are allergic to the flower and during pregnancy.

Dairy products also go well with essential oils. For example, fermented baked milk or Varenets. Take 50 ml of one of the two products and add 5 drops of rose and juniper oil, 2 drops rosemary oil.

However, you can mix almost all of these ingredients in one mask. For example, if you take 2 tablespoons of rice, chop it and mix it with a tablespoon of avocado oil, 50 ml of fermented baked milk and add 3-4 drops of rose oil, you will get an excellent cleansing mask with a peeling effect for normal skin.

You can mix a tablespoon of sour cream, honey, the same amount, and 2 drops of rose oil, you will get an excellent nourishing mask for dry skin. You can do without honey, and add juniper oil to rose oil.

Take a tablespoon of clay powder, add a spoonful of milk and one drop each of rose, ylang-ylang and lavender oils. The mask is mixed and applied to the skin. Keep the mixture for 15 minutes, regularly sprinkling with water from a spray bottle.

All of these recipes are just examples of how you can use rose oil for skin care. You can add it to any homemade cosmetics. It is enough to know the proportions in which the ingredients are mixed. The history of rose oil begins in Ancient Persia, where in the 10th century it was obtained for the first time, presumably by the physician Avicenna. According to surviving sources, the first mass production of the product appeared on the territory of Bulgaria in the 17th century, and this country still holds the position of the largest supplier. Before the outbreak of World War I, Bulgaria produced about five tons of rose oil annually. Today, the main producing countries of the product are Morocco, France and Türkiye.

There is a legend about Prince Jehangir of the Ottoman Empire, on whose wedding day all the reservoirs of the palace were strewn with rose petals. And his wife saw drops of oil on the surface of the water, which turned out to be very fragrant and pleasant. This is how rose oil was discovered.

Natural rose oil is made from the petals without any additives. It is important that the raw materials are fresh, just collected, since essential oils quickly evaporate during storage: within three hours their concentration in the petals decreases by 7–8%, within six hours - 19%, within 24 hours - already 35%.

Natural rose oil is made from freshly picked rose petals.

There are two types of rose oil, which differ in the method of production:

  • Otto is an oil made by distillation using steam or water from freshly collected petals. Otto is more valued for its rich aroma, which is why it is expensive. It is stored for a very long time - up to several decades. Because of high concentration active ingredients Otto oil is diluted with water before use;
  • absolute is an oil obtained by extraction under the influence of solvents. This production process is somewhat more complicated, but the final product is cheaper. First, an extract is obtained from the petals, which contains volatile aromatics and non-volatile ones, such as waxes and fatty acids. At the next stage, with the addition of alcohol, excess impurities are filtered out, and at the final stage of the process, pure essential oil remains. The extractant or solvent is alcohol, which evaporates during the process. Absolute oil is often used in perfumery.

The production process for rose oil is expensive due to the low yield of the final product. One drop of rose ether is obtained after processing thirty buds.

Freshly picked rose petals broadcast on air large number nutritional components that determine its beneficial properties:

  • has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the heart muscle, normalizes blood flow and pressure in the body;
  • can relieve spasms and dull pain;

  • linalool, part of the group of terpene alcohols. It gives the rose aroma and participates in metabolic processes;

I always add 4 drops of rose oil to all my creams, masks, tonics, shampoos, and hair gels. I felt that my skin became fresher, softer, and my hair was falling out less. I also always add 2 drops of rose oil per tablespoon of olive oil) rose oil and it turns out excellent remedy for the face and eyelids.

How many beneficial properties does rose oil have? I think that you will definitely choose something for yourself and apply it.

I look forward to your comments on the use of rose oil.
