Classic strudel is made from puff pastry with the addition of a large amount of butter and sugar - in a word, not the most dietary or light dessert. You can’t argue with the fact that strudel is incredibly tasty, but what to do if counting calories even after eating one piece is terrifying? All that remains is to experiment and come up with a new recipe for a familiar and much-loved dish, but one that is safer for a slim figure. Summer is just around the corner! Look how they prepare.
Diet strudel made from lavash with apples and cottage cheese in the oven, the recipe for which I described below, is another insanely simple, but at the same time original and surprisingly very tasty invention of people who follow healthy nutrition. The basis is ordinary thin Armenian lavash; of course, it is better if it turns out to be yeast-free, but this is not a necessary condition at all. Let’s say right away that there are not so many conditions for preparing this dessert. The main thing is not to be afraid to improvise and find that perfect taste for yourself. Well, let's try?!

Ingredients:

- 1 sheet of thin Armenian lavash;
- 150 gr. cottage cheese;
- 2 medium apples;
- 1 large pear;
- a handful of raisins, nuts;
- 1 tbsp. liquid honey;
- cinnamon, sweetener to taste;
- 1 raw yolk.

How to cook at home

We take the most common cottage cheese, the one sold in briquettes. Please pay attention to the fat content of the product; it should not exceed 5 percent. If the cottage cheese turns out to be a little dry, it can be diluted with a small amount of any low-fat fermented milk product, for example, sour cream or plain yogurt. Add honey to the cottage cheese and stir thoroughly until it forms a paste.

Cut apples and pears into small cubes. We choose the sweetest varieties, with them the strudel will turn out even more juicy and aromatic.

Now we begin to place the prepared ingredients on the flattened pita bread. Distribute the cottage cheese evenly, stepping back from one edge by 5-7 centimeters.

Next, lay out the chopped apples and pear. Be sure to mix it up so that with each bite you can feel the presence of both fruits in the dessert, because despite the similarity, each of them has its own unique taste and aroma.

Now we sprinkle our preparation with raisins. You can also add lightly chopped nuts to taste. And, of course, cinnamon completes all this splendor. What strudel would be complete without this amazing spice! If you are afraid that you won’t have enough sweetness, you can sprinkle the preparation with cane sugar, stevia or any other sweetener you are used to. For my taste, the sweetness from fruits, raisins and honey is quite enough.

We begin to carefully wrap the pita bread with filling into a roll. At the end of this simple process, the ends of the roll need to be tucked inward. Place our future strudel on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Brush with yolk to form a golden crust. Place the roll in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.

The magnificent aroma of cinnamon and apples will instantly fill your kitchen, but while the strudel is preparing, it’s time to brew delicious tea to go with it.

It is better to serve the dessert slightly warm or completely cooled.

If you are not very friendly with dough, and pastries are not the most frequent guest on the table, we offer a non-standard recipe for apple strudel in pita bread. This sweet dessert is so easy to prepare that even those who have never seen a rolling pin and barely understand the difference between puff pastry, yeast pastry and shortbread can handle it.

Lazy lavash strudel with apple

This quick strudel can be made not only with apples, but also with cherries for the filling. Moreover, the roll can also be savory, for example, with meat or potatoes and cheese.

Ingredients:

  • lavash sheet – 1 pc.,
  • fresh apples – 4 pcs.,
  • cinnamon – 0.5 teaspoon,
  • sugar – 1/3 cup,
  • butter – 20 g.

Cooking process:

In addition to apples, you can put soaked raisins or chopped walnuts in the strudel. They will give baked goods a new interesting taste.

Turn on the oven to preheat and begin preparing the apple filling.

Wash the apples and cut off the skin thinly. The more pulp remains on the fruit, the more it will go into the strudel. In a cold, clean, dry frying pan, cut the apples into small pieces. In fact, it doesn’t matter how you chop them; you can even grate them. In the strudel they will still turn into a sweet apple mass. Pour sugar and cinnamon into the pan.

Stir and place the apples over low heat to caramelize. Until the sugar melts, stir constantly so that it does not burn. When the apples boil, simmer them over the same low heat without a lid for about 7 minutes until the pieces are soft.

Melt the butter in a water bath or in the microwave. Remove the apples from the stove, unroll the lavash sheet and grease it with liquid oil. The roll turns out to be long, so for convenience, cut a sheet of Armenian lavash in half.

Place sweet and soft pieces on top and even them over the entire sheet.

Roll it up. Transfer it either to a baking sheet or into a baking dish.

Place the strudel in a hot oven for 20-25 minutes, cook at 180 degrees. When the pita bread is golden, you can take out the baked goods: it will be crispy on top and very juicy inside.

I am sure that after preparing this strudel once, you will start making it all the time. Bon appetit!

Another option for delicious lavash baked goods:

Dessert like strudel is quite popular. To my surprise, this is what I most often find on the menu of many establishments. However, the classic recipe entails a number of difficulties, namely the preparation of thin stretch phyllo dough in which the filling is wrapped.

A simplified version is strudel made from ready-made puff pastry. But it still needs to be baked in the oven. My recipe is even simpler: instead of thin dough, we use lavash, and instead of baking, fry it until golden brown in a frying pan in oil. It's faster and even tastier!

This strudel can easily be called lazy and here’s why. Firstly, our dough is lavash, and therefore, you only need to prepare the filling. This can be done at any convenient time. And then, when guests unexpectedly arrive at the door, stuff the pita bread, brown it in a frying pan and serve it hot and fresh. Secondly, as you already understood, an oven is not required for this recipe, which also simplifies the task. And finally, the recipe is so simple that even a child can handle it, just under your supervision.

Read more about the ingredients for making lazy lavash strudel with apples. I take lavash measuring 50 by 30 centimeters. For the filling - apples, butter, sugar and cinnamon to taste. I also use lemon juice and zest. I used low-fat cottage cheese as an additional component. That's it! And don’t forget to be in a good mood, then you will definitely enjoy preparing a delicious and quick strudel!

Peel the apples, grate them on a coarse grater, sprinkle with the juice of half a lemon.

Remove the zest from the same half.

Place 30 grams of butter, prepared apples and zest in a hot frying pan, add sugar and cinnamon.

Stir and simmer everything together for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a plate and cool slightly.

Add cottage cheese to the filling. Mix.

Place the filling on the pita bread, leaving a free long edge.

We fold the pita bread into an envelope, folding the right and left edges into the center, and form a roll.

Fry the strudel on both sides in a frying pan with the remaining butter until golden brown.

Cool the finished strudel and cut into portions.

Lazy lavash strudel with apples is ready! Bon appetit!

Why hang around the stove for hours when you can do the same thing in a few minutes? That's right - there's no need! So, our recipe is for those who are looking for easy ways and are not embarrassed to admit it! Lazy apple strudel from lavash according to this recipe is extremely easy to prepare, exotic in nature, appetizing and interesting in taste. A wonderful simple dish!

When you get tired of our filling option, you can diversify it: add dried fruits, berries, nuts, vanilla sugar... Whatever you like! Feel free to experiment. In the meantime, let's cook according to a very original recipe...

Ingredients:
- fresh apples – 3 - 4 pieces,
- granulated sugar – 3 tablespoons,
- ground cinnamon – ½ teaspoon,
- walnut kernel – 100 grams,
- thin pita bread – 1 piece,
- lemon – 1 piece or half, to pour over the chopped apples,
- butter or thick sour cream - a little, for soaking the strudel,
- powdered sugar - for sprinkling.

Recipe with photos step by step:

We wash the apples in cold water, dry them with a towel, peel them, and remove the core and seeds. Next, chop into thin slices and sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent them from darkening.

Sprinkle apples with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon and stir.

We lay thin Armenian lavash on the table. It must be fresh, not dried out, otherwise it may break during the folding process and the dish will not turn out.
Melt butter in the microwave or on the stove (about 50 grams). Or we take thick, fatty sour cream (ideally, rustic sour cream). Grease our flatbread.

Arrange the chopped apples on. Along the circumference of the cake (or perimeter, if it is rectangular) leave 1 centimeter from the edges.

We sort out the walnut kernels, chop them finely, grate them or crush them with a press. Sprinkle the apple filling with chopped nuts.

Carefully roll everything up into a roll.
Transfer the roll to a clean, dry baking sheet. Again coat with melted butter or sour cream.

Place the strudel in a preheated oven (180-200 degrees) and bake until deliciously golden brown (10-15 minutes).
We take out our dish and leave it to cool.

Now take a very sharp good knife (this is important) and while still slightly warm, cut the strudel into pieces. Sprinkle it with powdered sugar and serve with tea.

Isn't it really a miracle? Fast and tasty! Bon appetit!

This is a really lazy recipe! No hassle with either the dough or the filling, and in just 15 minutes you get a crispy strudel made from the thinnest lavash with a juicy apple filling. You don’t even have to preheat the oven; the strudel is fried in a frying pan in oil. You can, of course, bake it in the oven and put various goodies in the filling, but that’s if time allows. And when you don’t have it, use the simplest and fastest apple strudel recipe.
The apples for the filling need to be finely chopped, and a chopper will do the job perfectly. If you don’t have it, you will still have to work a little or get a jar of apples prepared for pies from your supplies.

Ingredients:

- lavash sheets – 2 pieces (large, rectangular);
- apples – 10-12 pcs;
- sugar - to taste;
- ground cinnamon – 0.5 tsp (to taste);
- butter – 50-70 g;
- powdered sugar - for decoration.

How to cook with photos step by step

If you have a food processor or chopper, then skip the first step of the lazy apple pita strudel recipe. Of all the steps, you only need to cut the apples into 4 parts and remove the seeds. In the absence of kitchen helpers, we arm ourselves with a sharp knife and finely chop the apples. We do not peel off the skin.

When the most tedious work is done, heat up the frying pan and melt the butter in it. Transfer the apples to the oil and stir. Keep the heat low so that the apples simmer and do not burn. Cover with a lid for speedy cooking.

Add sugar to softened apples to taste. Continue to simmer the apple strudel filling until cooked. Everything will take no more than 10 minutes.

Cinnamon or nutmeg will help highlight the taste of apples and give the strudel filling a pleasant aroma. You need to add spices to the finished apples when you remove them from the heat.

The finished apples will be soft, but will retain their shape. Apples of summer varieties are softer and most likely they will turn out almost puree, but this will not affect either the appearance of the lazy strudel or its taste.

Carefully roll the strudel with apples into a roll, pressing slightly. Leave one edge free of filling and moisten it with water (this is necessary so that the strudel does not unfold).

Cut the roll in half. Then cut each half into small pieces.

Place the strudel in a frying pan with heated oil and brown the bottom.

When the bottom side becomes golden and crispy, turn the lavash strudel over and fry the other side.

Serve apple strudel hot, warm or cooled. It is very, very tasty! Especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a cup of aromatic tea.

And you will probably like it
